What the hell are you talking about? They don't have long ears, and very explicitly DO have bizarre, inhuman parallels in thought, perception, and action. You look at the Fellowship losing a month give or take in Lothlorien and tell me that's not right out of a Germanic or Old Saxon Tale of someone dancing with the Fae and losing all sense of time.
