What would a ruined city the size of a plane be like, and would it be a good campaign setting?

Assuming that the city is so massive that the sky is almost never visible, and the deeper you go, the older and more decayed the ruins.

Yeah, but fantasy (as "plane" would imply, though I should have been clearer about that), orders of magnitude larger, and with no way to remove the vast ruins.
Also because the city IS the fabric of the plane, there is no solid ground underneath, just more ruins, and the entire plane wraps around in all 3 dimensions

How long has it been ruined for, how intact would the buildings be?

My current thoughts are leaning towards the city being inhabited by a magical civilization before it got ruined, and the only ways to get new equipment/food/whatever being to take it by cunning or force, find it in an old stockpile, or find one of the incredibly ancient and unreliable devices left behind by the previous inhabitants that might summon the item you're looking for. Of course, because they're on the fritz, if you try to summon food with one, for example, it might give you an entire banquet, a day's worth of rations, a handful of seeds, a wild boar, a dragon, or if you're really unlucky, an insanely powerful demon. Regardless of what the item is, there's always a tiny chance of it summoning a demon instead.

At least a century, but it's so vast it that the original catastrophe is probably still raging somewhere in the upper levels

Depends on how old the part of the city is, but in most places missing pieces of floor and wall are extremely common, and there are massive voids in the older parts of the city. It's basically held together by magic at this point.

Also how dense will some areas be basically fields surrounding a wrecked building or is it going to be a recently abandoned city core?

Also what will the climate and weather be like will it be cold with snow and ice, baking hot and in the middle of a dester, humid and like a sauna with vines ruining buildings, etc. Also how polluted and what are the pollutants?

There will definitely be more open areas, but we're talking "absolutely massive cavern" more than fields.
Also, different districts of the city would have different design styles, depending on their age, kind of like a normal world's biomes, e.g., one district of the city would be more intact, vertical, angular, imposing and have large shafts, there would be regions of formerly white and smoothly curved marble, adorned with crystals, airy and elegant, but now smashed and covered in soot and scorch marks, etc.

It would really depend on the district, but for the most part it would be pretty cold. The biggest exception being the underground jungle covering the slowly cooling remains of the precursors' central heating district and holding as much of the precious heat and light in.

It could be, but it would need more than that. Do you mean something like making 'Capriccios' actual places for players to explore?

Do their parks and gardens double as orchards and crops?

Does anyone live in it?

Even if only tribes of orcs feeding on eternally regenerating troll innards?

Does it has titanic architecture the likes of Babel and Giovanni Batista's etchings?

What is the architectural style, anyway?
