Any psychic army. You can do an interesting Dark Eldar/Eldar/Harlequins list that focuses on leadership penalties and psychic shenanigans. Shadowseers can deal d3 mortal wounds in the shooting phase if the leadership is low enough, and smite twice.

Anon, you really need to step up your sacrificing game for fortuitous meetings.

I find the rituals work pretty well with chicken blood, but pig blood can work as a substitute. I haven't found a preference for chalk yet, but do keep in mind that you're going to want to go for unscented candles rather than scented, that's what the incense. Not that it interferes but it really keeps you in the mindset. But I'm sure you can find out what works for you, instructables probably has some decent tutorials, but there's no substitute for experience.

Although some game stores have schedules for game meetups and pickup times, which is fortunate because it'll save you some money on ritual reagents and some uncomfortable glances from the grocery clerk.

Mech Guard reporting, is IG + GK a bad idea? I want to start a second army and I like their look but it may not be a very fitting pair. Until then I hope this list will hold out until FW gives me Vulture/Vendetta stats to hold back swarms and monsters.

It doesn't resolve the guns separately, you declare the target and roll 1d3+(number of models/5)d3 right then.
That makes it 44 shots on average vs conscripts, doing an average of 36.666... Hits and then 30.555... Wounds.
That is around 10-11 points per wound, but it's also far tougher than wyches, doesn't have to make it across the board and doesn't afford the enemy an opportunity to attack back in close combat.
Meanwhile, 20 wyches cost 180 points, and does 9 wounds on the charge, or 20 points per wound.
You're insane if you think 20ppw is less than 10/11ppw

Wyches actually get a shooting attack, because they're in range for charging. Also, you forgot to factor in their extra attack from combat drugs. They get I think 9 points per wound against conscripts. I might have been including the succubus buff in there, but since it fills a required HQ slot and is a great stat block itself, I don't think I included its point cost.

If you include combat drugs and shooting it does go down to about 9ppw, but that's a lot of assumptions.
Only one wych unit in 6 gets +1A from combat drugs, so that's not something that can be assumed for all wych units.
Plus if we start adding in character bonuses and stratagems and so on it's outside of math and into actually just playing the game.
Generally speaking they're about equal in effectiveness.

List wise, you can get more than 1 wych unit with +1a. The rule states you can't take repeats until all six drugs have been chosen, but after that, repeat as much as you want.

I was browsing the different units in the Xenos 2 index (I play Orks) and I got to the Riptide. The Nova reactor looks really cool. If I got a Riptide to add to my small Tau force I think I'd only use it for the weapon boost, but I think it's a really neat mechanic.

For 2 points more you're getting a much better gun with no downside. It shoots more and it may actually kill something.

On normal Guardsmen I would say plasma, on veterans I would scream it at you. Plasma guns are so cheap for the imperial guard and they target the exact same models are GL, ie. high toughness, but they can also take out low toughness high armour targets.

I think it demonstrates the Plasma gun as the superior weapon. For 2 points (approx. 20% more) it consistently delivers a better performance, only performing inferior to a GL against one target (4+ save GEQ, the second column) and outstripping the GL heavily against targets you wouldn't just try to drown in Lasguns.

Find a way to get a Deff Rolla on that Battlewagon. I used two Rolla-wagons in each of my 8th ed games yesterday and they proved their worth in both. 6 attacks hitting on 2's at Str 8 and -2 AP makes them a surprisingly good melee unit, though if you're kitting them for that you really want 'Ard Case, as you have done so.

Also I'd drop the Big Shootas on the Sluggaz; sure you can fire them after running but you're hitting on 6's and you're just going to be getting those lads into CC ASAP.

To be honest the GL has never been great, it's a jack of all trades that would be more suited to an elite army. In the guard I'd go all out on flamers or plasma and use them on the appropriate enemy. GL's have never been cheap enough to justify the downgrade.
