Perhaps the most underrated unarmed build in Path of War is the medic (sanguinist) 1/mystic (aurora soul) X with Practiced Initiator.

The level in medic (sanguinist) nets you your Wisdom modifier in extra damage to your unarmed attacks. At mystic (aurora soul) class level 2nd, you add your Wisdom bonus to AC even in light armor, and at class level 7th, you add your Wisdom modifier as a bonus to unarmed damage rolls.

The sanguinist's Wisdom modifier in extra damage stacks with the aurora soul's Wisdom modifier as a bonus to damage rolls; one is extra damage, while the other is a bonus.

Be sure to take Shape Veil (Forcestrike Knuckles) and Extra Essence for even more unarmed damage.

Let us discuss the avowed's patronage.

As per Paizo's NPC codex, the typical barmaid is a 5th-level commoner, and the typical shopkeeper (or "any typical merchant in a cosmopolitan settlement") is a 6th-level commoner. Those would become avowed.

It's partially weapon type; I think that decides part of the growth factor and die type at least.

So the spacebow likely gets a bonus attack and does like, 12d8+25 per shot at level 20, while that sniper plasma rifle gets only a single attack of 10d4+10 which is totally stronger because it's a single boosted shot, in exchange for having more expensive ammunition.

We'll then have it explained to us that spacebow requires exactly one half-feat more to be proficient in than the sniper plasma rifle, which is why the sniper plasma rifle has to fire more slowly, deal less damage, provoke AoOs between shots as well as while reloading unlike the spacebow, and have significantly less compatibility with feats, items and enchantment bonuses, in order to make up for all of its advantages.

From a lore perspective what sort of organization is Pathfinder society like? Without consideration for the lore I like the idea of making Starfinder Society something like the way the Hunter Organization is set up where they have certain deals with the Pact World Government that lets them be generally above the law in some circumstances unless they fuck up really hard and the act of getting into Starfinder is not only hard but potentially lethal as well.

I am confused by how the otyugh pact avowed's 4th-level empowerment works:

Filth Absorption (4th): As a standard action, you can absorb filth and detritus. You clean that area completely, consuming all disease, grime, food, and trash within 5 feet. This functions as a remove disease spell targeting all adjacent creatures (caster level equal to your avowed caster level) and a prestidigitation to clean the area. If you cure someone of a disease, you become infected with it.

In addition, whenever you damage a creature with an aether pulse, you can infect them with one disease you carry to them. This works as if they had caught it normally, except its save DC is equal to your aether pulse save DC, and its onset time is immediate, dealing its first instance of damage as they fail the save against this ability. You can only infect a creature in this way once per round.

Suppose a creature has already failed a saving throw against the effects of one of your diseases. On subsequent rounds, can you infect the creature with the same disease to apply more ability damage, or must you switch to another disease?

Basically you skip the onset time before the disease would start doing anything (since otherwise it's useless in combat since they'll still be fine for days after infection), and they're considered to have already failed their first saving throw.

Aether Pulse skips ahead to first disease save on impact: You either make the save, or you fail the save and suffer the first hit from the disease.

Unless people can get double-aids in pathfinder (pretty sure they can't) then it's once per target per disease they've caught. So switch to other diseases for subsequent hits, to stack the fuckery. It's a decent enough debuff if you've got 2-3 diseases; the way this reads to me is a 3 hit barrage could triple-infect a single target. If they ain't dead, they ain't happy.

Not him, runelords guy, but in myexperience 5e is much simpler, more streamlined, and isn't as horribly choked full of a million pointless trap options as Pathfinder is. Its definately much more beginner friendly in that regard.

Pathfinder really isa system only for people who love spending hours involving themselves in character-builder minigames in order to stat down the specific minutia of a character. And I say that as one of those kinds of people.

Really, PF just may be the absolute worst choice for a beginner's ttrpg, further it tends to also teach and encourage bad thinking and playstyles in regards to rpgs and tends to scare people away from other systems due to making them think all the others are as crazily complicated at PF, which is simply untrue

I'm not about to launch into system arguments, especially not in a general, but 5e just has a way lower skill floor where it's almost impossible to fuck up a character and the rules are much easier to learn. Pathfinder is a risky entry point, especially without an experienced player guiding you along the way and helping you out with a lot of the small fidgety stuff.

Most of the advantages to playing Pathfinder over other systems don't really come into play until you're experienced.

I think I've spent far too much time in this thread, because I can't tell when I'm being ironic and when I'm being serious anymore. The GM already mentioned that Yokai is A-okay, and the other player was thinking of playing a dedicated worshipper of Erastil who's still trying to find his way in life. I could potentially end up in a dynamic duo with someone my own character watched grow up. Hell, maybe he even saved mine from a trap. I've dug myself too deep here guys.

As to why, well we've been getting into an investigation about a certain unsettlingly-powerful party crasher who possessed a powerful count we've been trailing for a while now.
We had both thought that somehow the spirit possessing the guy was the restless ghost of a failed playwright, but they found out the guy's still alive and making a killing penning musicals in Cheliax, but we had to tell them about the Demesne. Thankfully, we could answer their not very helpful information with more not very helpful information.
The society's beef with the count was that he had accused them of stealing some loot from a dragon's hoard, and they had to clear their names. The party, being Dragons1, didn't like humies stealing dragonstuff, so we assured them that we'd investigate the hoard while they went off to investigate the count's estate.

They seemed like a cute band of bumbling fools. I wouldn't mind running into them again.

I think one to three paragraphs for each section can suffice. Less for the more fluffy of sections, like the appearance or personality, and more for the relevant information to the GM, like backstory for plot hooks.
