I want to homebrew a space fantasy setting.
Are spacefaring dragons flying through the stars a good idea?
>>
Sounds fucking rad. Give them radiation breath or something.

When they die they decompose into a new star.

See Spelljammer. Even regular dragons could be used to pull certain types of ships through space, and there were solar and lunar dragons, and other weird shit.
Lunar dragons were pretty cool, they changed alignment with the shifting of the moon, and could cause lunar based effects (such as werewolves), as well as instantly Charming them. Cool shit.

Yes.
See: the Mi-go.

They're more like fungus than dragons, but fly through space all the same.

Damn, you're right, way for me to go think first about the thing that looks less like a dragon.

In my defense, I'm so used to seeing their birdlike art on my 6th ed book that I literally didn't recognize OP's as a byakhee.
