Woke up to find replies to this Oliver guy like this flooding my twitter feed. I know nothing about the person who tweeted above, but I agree with him.
My question is this: why are these people being overly butt hurt about his comment? Why is this being rude to whomever has a game day playmat? All I see Oliver trying to say is that it's intimidating to face against people who win competitively, but these apparent SJW act like it's a minor offense to be scared by someone's skill level.
Also what is your opinion on the professor from tolarian community college?
Here's another one
who cares

Long story short: Humans are idiots and this thread is going to do everything to prove that with just how argumentative and unproductive it's going to be.
Also I did it. You can blame me for it.
>>53364734
Don't get it either but then again I'm not a fag who plays magic.
>>53364734
>look at what this person said on Twitter!
fuck off
>>53364734
This is stupid.. how is it condescending or elitist to be intimidating? Is the first poster joking or being sarcastic?
>>53364734
This one seems to be against fancy accessories, considering them to be for elitists.
>>53364748
This one seems to share a different point of view.
>>53364734
Without any context the first guy sounds like he's just making a general comment about a potentially tough opponent, the other dude just sounds like he's bitching.
>>53365395
This. Oliver Whatshisnuts is just making some shitty joke, and Evan is being a gigantic faggot.
Why do people even use Twitter? It just seems like a site where you post what's on your mind so maniacs can lash out at you on the internet.

>It just seems like a site where you post what's on your mind so maniacs can lash out at you on the internet.
Can't tell if you're sarcastically or coincidentally describing 4chan...

At least we're constructive, sometimes. This thread being a poor example.
>>53364734
>some meanies said some things I don't like
Christ almighty how did you survive the horror long enough to whine on /tg/ about it?
>>53365741
I didn't survive lol
(Like sure I'm offended by their comments because I get a little spooked by someone with a game day play mat, but I'm mostly disappointed in the professor retweeting and favoriting this stuff. Like I know he's a liberal cuck and everything, but crap like this makes me want to unfollow him.)
>>53365479
Right now my main reasons for twitter is banter with friends and this one MTG bracket where all the cards (up until kaladesh) are put into a big poll to see the best one card.
>>53364734
I thought Oliver's comment was mildly amusing...
>>53364734
Champion playmats can be bought and sold for less than firearms.
I would imagine an opponent with a firearm on the table would be more intimidating than one with a champion playmat.
>>53369204
Considering the way it's set up it seems like Oliver is being sarcastic? "I'm really afraid of someone who won at Game Day" which would make the elitist comment applicable. Don't play MTG, so I'm unsure, but that's my read on it. If it's legitimate, it seems a bit salty sure, but hell, it's social media, this is the only venting he can get, and it's unlikely a tourney matchup is gonna look you up on fuckin Twitter.

Don't feed the fire folks.

I think people are calling him out for being sarcastic. I have this vague idea that the Oliver guy is a moderate mtg personality based on results and the Evan guy is one of those self-appointed community leader assholes out of the star city games ""celebrity"" factory.

I'd peg whipping out your 9mm at FNM more towards Alarming than Intimidating.
