All I'm saying is that given the vast majority of stories fit into these concepts, and human nature being the same wherever ya go, it isn't surprising that some stories have similar themes or people do similar things. Just like there was no worldwide flood, but people have a lot of flood myths. You can find similar stories all over the place. Just because they share similarities doesn't mean they come from a common source. People get bored and tell stories or great deeds get blown up, or people have a downfall. They don't all come from one primordial truth or story. Just like modern urban legends and creepypasta don't come from some truth. It's stories and people like stories with a point. So, lots of stories have similar themes because if there is no lesson to be learned and it's just "Bob built a bridge. The end." Nobody cares. We either want stories with a point or a story with some kind of drama.

Try reading ancient moral tales from ancient cultures. 99% of them will have the same exact shit in them, just told 1,001 different ways.

As for the categories, they fit based on how the story is structured and the page gives examples. As always there is some debate, but you don't find all that many different types even from sources that disagree. And all things material CAN be summed up in that way. It won't help much, which is why we have scientific categories to break it down and be specific. But there is no need to be scientific when discussing a topic like story structure. These are just how stories are. You can further break them down by theme or whatever else, but that doesn't make the bigger categories irrelevant. And it still shows that stories being similar isn't exactly hard to imagine and we see it all the time even in cultures that had no connection to one another.
