Illustrator is almost purely used for vector creation these days, such as logos and graphics to use as standardized assets across various forms of media. If you are creating a product with set dimensions, you do that on Photoshop.

I would actually argue that Indesign is probably the best program for CYOA making since CYOAs are very layout intensive, especially for large ones. Create your graphics on Photoshop and Illustrator and bring them over to Indesign.

Obviously it would be worded better, but depending on the magic/technology level you chose, it could be anything from aliens, to bandits, to a town wide hallucination where the "lights" were never even real. Maybe the two events are completely unrelated, maybe people are turning into the lights.

Photoshop can arguably do everything just fine, the only thing it really needs help with is layout in which InDesign is good at.

I'm talking about everyone I know who does graphic design. Most people just use Photoshop and don't bother with other things. The only times I hear about people using Illustrator is for creating buttons/logos/small graphics for use on web sites/documents, and I've actually never heard of anyone using InDesign for anything outside of The Scientist using it for CYOAs. I agree with him that it's an excellent tool for CYOA creation, but I still believe that the bulk of the actual graphic design is probably best to be done on Photoshop.

My realm is a traveling good aligned adventure’s guild. I’m much less a king and more like a guild master. Every lunar month, I can teleport the portal to my domain. Where we go is debated on where we can do the most good and voted on by the adventures (lieutenants). I can’t vote but I can veto a decision. When we teleport I stay with my personal group (guardian and personal guards) to protect the domain’s civilians and the adventurers do whatever needs to be done. We only accept good aligned people and anyone is free to leave whenever they wish (this also applies to the civilians). We don’t discriminate on race, only alignment and anyone wishing to join us is heavily scrutinized.
