I would like to make an interactive digital map of my campaign setting.
I want to be able to hover the mouse over (or click) certain regions or realms, and have them automatically highlight, and information about that region appear on the side.
I want to have an option to list all the custom races of the world, and when you click on each one, it highlights the areas of the map in which they reside.
I want to have a timeline scroller, which will allow me to slide through the worlds history, which would be shown in the highlighted areas information changing at certain points, or certain races retreating into one single region the further back you go, eventually vanishing altogether.
/tg/, how do I make this happen?

Why? I'm asking about a potential DMing aid. This is /tg/. I don't see this not being relevant to this board.

Lots of programming and graphic designing I assume. If this were Roll20, I'd just put the info in a handout and have each region's name marked via dot.
This sounds like something that would take a lot more investment than it'd be worth unless the campaign was a very successful one, if you've even ran it in the first place.

I know that fucking feel, OP.
Too bad the 3D world sucks and nobody wants to make DM tools.

You could probably do that without too much technical knowledge in Gamemaker or flash or something. It's not anything fancy, it's just a single screen with interact-able icons.

Should be possible with some HTML5 tricks. Good luck finding an easily digestible tutorial for it though

what's the best way to learn flash?
I also already have a map of the continent drawn, could I scan this in and do it that way?

>1. Interactive region map, touch mapped image connects to information.
Java and HTML 5 required, plus light graphic design.

Newgrounds has fucking *tons* of top-tier tutorials. No cost, made by some amazing animators. Just search for "learn" or "tutorial" and watch the resulting files.
Seriously: Newgrounds is responsible, at least partly, for the contemporary animation boom we're in.
