Pictures of human beings facing a giant. Bonus point if it's in a medieval setting.
I'll contribute with something.

OP said human beings.

question for armor/metallurgy fags
could plates this large have been manufactured in this period
>>53065091
I'm almost certain they couldn't, but were you to do something like that in fantasy, it wouldn't break my suspension of disbelief.
>>53065061
Alrighty then
>>53065091
If a giant's wearing that, then surely a giant could have crafted it.
>>53065178

Technically speaking nothing that huge should be able to even walk: having such a large armor forged for him is the very least unbelievable thing in him.

not the guy you quoted, but i can't help but wonder, myself.
when i see an obviously real-world "mundane" object like that magnified to unrealistic proportions, my mind has a tendency to break continuity to go "nah", for just a moment. it doesn't completely go away either, i'm just running the sim with a realism offset/compensation from that point.
there's gotta be a scene where magical material is being woven on a city-wide scale by little gnomes
>>53065479
there's a way to do it, and it takes a lot more research and effort than what most people get away with.
>>53065566
Are you... actually autistic?
I don't know if you noticed, but we're not aiming at creating a realistic species here. One of them has a giant oversized assymetrical arm. And a gaping mouth. And burning eyeballs.
He would not have all these baroque, grandiloquent, grossly unrealistic characteristics, if the artist wasted time "doing research" you actual retard.
>>53062815
This image represents the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, where the Polish-Lithuanian Union won a huge victory over the German-Prussian Teutonic Order, which led to the eventual diminishing of the Order and the rise of the Polish-Lithuanian Union as the main power in the region.
>>53065533
Kind of agree. I want all their cloths to be a patchwork of skins and smaller stuff.
A giant in chain-mail would be cool too, maybe with some sort of welded together helmet.
>>53065689
I think he's point out how autistic you are for being bothered by a lack of realism in fantasy art.

>>53065732
idk y u guys gotta b so mad about someone else thinking critically about a thing
look here
>>53065246
a bit of research on how arms work, or how bones generally fit together, can only drive your creation way up.
why does that front arm look so visceral and cool?
then look at the angle of the back arm, and finally the back legs and tail
not a single section of this creature agrees with the next. the perspective is way off.
art has rules. even when the subject matter is "made up", it's not immune to critique. take this advice to your deviantart accounts. you will see a huge increase in fanbase if you put in the work, i guarantee it.
>>53065732
"realism" isn't the question, anon. consistency is. you can draw a mutant/magical abomination with randomly placed limbs and still be smart about it.
still, even fantasy creatures have eyes that see. that's "realism". you fall back on reality more than you like to admit when designing these things. up is still up and down is still down. things get hurt when you hit them. monsters still bleed.

its the russians and chinese: we don't even register to them.
I also like that the artist was retarded to include an economic group that is actually dominated by china and russia in the g20 as opposed to the more rational and actually correct choice in the g7.
goes to show just what the supposedly superior two autocratic nations are really like
>>53071065
technically incorrect, that's a personification of a nation.

Muscle and bone strength don't increase enough with size to keep up with the increases in weight. Similar equations come into play when trying to overcome gravity in rocket equations (after a certain point more fuel adds more weight than any thrust added to overcome the weight it just added.)
You can use lightweight yet strong materials like carbon fibre, titanium, or nanotubes to overcome these structural issues, but after a certain point even that fails.
Worse, well before the muscles fail to lift its own skeleton the creature would have reached a point where it could no longer pump blood through its body as the structure of the heart would not reach such pressures, and the material of the veins would not contain such pressures even if it could reach them.
>>53073156
Sorry, meant this one >>53072871
>>53080210
What about multiple hearts, so it can distribute them over its body and avoid the blood issue?
Besides, imagine how cool would be killing one of the hearts and letting the body part turn necrotic because of the lack of blood.

That would work for the one problem, not the others. Like the weight being too great for the muscle or bone.

To give you the math reason, imagine a bowling ball hanging from a rope - the rope is thick enough to hold it up.
Now double it in size. Every direction.
The bowling ball gets eight times heavier, because that's how mass works.
The rope holding it up only gets twice as thick.
Our body structures work like that - we're designed exactly as robustly as we need to be. If you double us in size (12' tall, 5' across, etc), you make us eight times heavier (1600 lbs) but our bones (which hold that weight) are only twice as thick.
It's why bugs can have those spindly little legs holding up relatively huge bodies - the materials they're made out of are the right density and strength to hold up that kind of body. Giant ants would first collapse on their own weight, then rupture their carapaces.
Likewise, giant humans made out of the same material wouldn't be able to walk - wouldn't be able to lift any limbs, in fact.
>>53072773
The body would generate too much heat and wouldn't have enough surface area to cool itself.
Giants up to around 20ft are biologically possible, but they would have to be cold blooded and wear very little clothing.

I still wonder what would've happened had jack's dad accepted aku's gratitude for freeing him, like if the eldar had welcomed slaanesh and not screamed and ran away
>>53099997
Eldar still would have been fucked, they just wouldn't have been raped.
>>53100174
pretty much this, They got turned into assorted drugs and alcohol for slannesh to enjoy. And that was if they didn't end up with an eternity of suffering torture.
>>53099997
Aku has betrayed people who helped him because he's more evil than smart. So it's possible the only difference would be that earth, including japan, would be enslaved by Aku with no special sword that can kill him.
>>53090761
Thats why every giants must have proportionally stronger bone and musles, both in materials density m8, not just simply makes random human bigger.
>>53099997
I've never heard about running away from slaanesh in the Fall of Eldar. I thought it was: core of the eldar empire was going to shit and some of them left. And when Slaanesh was born, there wasn't really time to run away (or maybe even try to run away). You were either already far enough away and lived, or close enough and died.
If it matters, I'm not the biggest 40k lore fan, so if there is anything I'm missing or got wrong, please let me know.

>>53065091
depends on how thick you want said armor, it could probably work if you assume most of it is the same thickness as a human sized suit would be, maybe even slightly thinner
>>53072773
naturally maybe, but since it's a giant over 12 feet in height we can safely assume there's at least some magic involved here

>>53100968
I think it was in the "The First Heretic" (it's been awhile) but basically, the groups that had all run onto craftworlds to go be nomads had had a bit of warning about something terrible was going to happen,
when Slaanesh was born into existence it showed itself to the Eldar and tried to claim them as it's chosen people, not imeadiately snort them as is believed
The Eldar looked upon Slaanesh and collectivly rejected this being, seeing it as evil and refusing to believe they could have made such a being not as perfect as they believed themselves to be. They did not take into account that this was a god, nor the fact that this was like a parent violently spitting at and rejecting their child....a child with god powers...
thus enraged and vengeful, Slaanesh slaughtered an devoured the eldar empire and has been doing so with vigor ever since.
I like to question what would've happened if they embraced slaanesh instead of the alternative
we need big silent stalkers for giants, the idea is terrifying to me every day that something the size of a building could smash me or eat me without ever hearing it coming
>>53062815

They would've been like the other races that embraced Slaanesh. Like the race Fulgrim ended up destroying and getting the sword from. The Laer? I think. Their society was focused entirely on seeking perfection and they augmented themselves a lot seeking it. Chaos surprisingly isn't always something that will outright destroy you. You can have a society that embraces it and lives, you'll just be degenerate as fuck, a slave to whatever the chaos gods want, and risking that at any time the god can decide they no longer want you and abandon you or make you self destruct.
>>53102493
I feel like they'd need to have some means of hiding in case their prey bothered to turn their heads.
Maybe they're like ents or huorns, who are very hard to discern from regular trees.
Or maybe they only stalk in environments with very low levels of visibility, like heavy fog.
Ooh, or maybe they're nocturnal, and have huge-ass eyes the size of beach balls that you can occasionally see watching you through the trees

I think it would depend on how many eggs they produce. If they can throw out thousands then it doesn't matter what happens to most of them, but if they can only lay a few then they need to have a plan.
