MZPlus is a lot more solid than PF. Number crunching may be autistic but no worse than DPS optimization on here, and at least it doesn't *hide* the options doing so.

I'll admit the rules needed some layout upgrades, but it's sounding a lot like a "uh, I read it it looked hard so pathfinder's better" claim there.

Silcore is the system that heavy gear is based on. It's excellent on most fronts except if you're hoping for heavy attrition (it's more of a plink plink miss miss BOOM with the damage multiplier system). Vehicle creation is as involved as you want it to be, which for some of us means carefully balancing whether the miscellaneous threat value can handle an additional exponent (pic related)

This. When I heard about it I was hoping to have the chance to bone wierd alien babes, with bizarre physiologies and traits, and wierd looking genetalia.

Instead its Furry Dating Simulator in Space, because Fenoxo is a hack. I mean, if I wanted to fuck furries, I'd go back to playing more CoC, with the Revamp mod. At least then you had no delusions about what you were getting yourself into.

Whereas TiTs its just nothing but humans who Otherkinned into Furries, and Bugs. And while I can appreciate some nice bugfucking, this is just too much. The thing Is, I don't really have time to learn a new system with an outdated rules layout, regardless of whether or not it makes sense in the end. I also wasn't using Zeta Plus. It wasn't really an issue of whether PF was 'better' or not, it was more the people I could potentially get involved, and the familiarity of the system I was most comfortable with. It's a good race with plenty of variety, but there are some limitations.

Unless you take either Draconic Hero or Draconic Exemplar, you're screwed for size progression, and some of the classes DH can cover do lose out on some serious benefits.

The other big issue is that they don't naturally breathe fire/ice/whatever. It's locked to a X/Day usage (that also is used for other stuff which sounds ridiculous), and if you don't take Draconc Exemplar or the Sorcerer archetype, you're even more fucked with feat taxes. That said, you can take some of Draconic Exemplar's other nice stuff (the two pools of talents for fun things) if you're angling for something specific.

So how does improved familiar work? can i choose on of the familiars off the list as a level 1 wizard?

Because PoW is ToB ver 2.0, and ToB was the first way to make martials that were passable without optimizing the shit out of them. A good chunk of it is momentum left-over from ToB.

Good skill lists, a strict need for a good mental stat, and none of that "2+int" bullshit helps. And there's a bunch of maneuvers and stances that at the very least help out-of-combat.

There's a lot of "skill check in place of AC" and "standard action to hit multiple times" maneuvers at 2nd level across a ton of disciplines. You just didn't build it right. Wanting something really really focused does require a level of optimization and understanding.

Similarly with Silcore when it comes to vehicle design: The pricing system is based on "threat value" (miniaturization and production type then act on this to produce a final cost). Basically you can design anything you damn well please, but everything you add makes it more and more expensive, and keeping it small becomes more expensive too.

Within certain categories as a result the costs/values can be extremely high despite not that much more performance. Aircraft are a fine example: High-speed interceptors can have TVs in the tens of thousands. Thing is, their movement speed as far as ground-skirmish scale is concerned is something you can count in MAPS (fucking duh when something's going 2.1 Mach instead of 80mph) and this makes their defensive cost (speed/armor/maneuverability) extremely high. Thus, they come with a big price-tag.

As it's an exponential system, it in no way means that a 600tv gear with a sniper laser can't blow the 15 000tv thing out of the sky (mind you the far more likely scenario IS "wait something just blipped on sen~*BOOM*) just that one is insanely more expensive than the other for reasons NOT related to, say, the capture of US lawmakers by corporate interests.

In fact you do need to remember TVs are really mostly good for comparison within the same type and role: Comparing two main battletanks, it's going to give you a good idea, but fielding three unarmed princess cruiseships will in no way be a threat to that turbofan hopper with the missile rack!

I've done some probability calcs for big attacks before, and a lot of the variables are out there, but you can get an idea of a "dummy" level, i.e. against the average stats for the CR you're looking at. I'd say you could probably find a standard to hold these builds to if they're to be dedicated damage dealers. Something like "90% to ORKO an equal CR, 75% for a CR+2" or whatever. Numbers would have to be found via consensus, but the idea seems sound enough.
