>Are masticore and morphling even playable anymore?
No.
>Whats the current MVP?
depends on the format, but Deathrite Shaman is a fucking power house

Morphling was only particularly amazing when damage was on the stack.
Thinking about MVP creatures... Tarmogoyf, Thought-Knot Seer, Wurmcoil Engine, Griselbrand, Primeval Titan, and Phyrexian Obliterator are definitely all-stars. But, honestly, the best creature in MtG has to be Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. If you see that bitch, there's a 90% chance the game is over. It kinda depends on format. Many tier 1 decks have been built around it and many more use it as an alternate wincon if nothing else.

False. Best MtG creature of all time isStorm Crow

Damn you.

To be fair, Aetherling, which was a slightly fatter Morphling with minor alterations to its abilities, saw some play when it came out, but the 'lings did lose some of their might when it no longer became possible for them to put their damage on the stack and then set their power to 0 to absorb whatever damage they took in return harmlessly.
I think the MVP critter of Modern is harder to pin down, but Tarmogoyf and Snapcaster Mage are probably easy picks because if you can run blue or green you're going to have a hard time finding better value than that for two fucking mana.

>Thought-Knot Seer
Fuck that bitch. Undercosted beatstick that goes into every deck and has a backbreaking ETB ability. What was wizards thinking.

Eh, Snapcaster is like Flametounge Kavu, it isn't good because its a creature, but because of the other things it brings to the table.

I see what you're saying about Snapcaster, you're dead wrong about the Kavu.
FTK was great precisely *because* it was a creature - a 4 power threat for 4 is a lot better than Flame Slash for 4, but you staple them together and DAYUM.
Even Snapcaster, which often gets thrown under the bus as a chump blocker, trading if he's lucky, represents a clock (In addition to his primary function of giving you an extra copy of whatever instant or sorcery you need). How many RUG Delver or Grixis Control matchups have been won via Snapcaster beats? Quite a few.

GOAT is Goyf for the simple reason that he's not oppressive enough to get banned, yet they also cannot ever print a better creature without it getting canned immediately.
