ITT: We generate a superhero from Marvel's Ultimate Powers book.

To start, I'm going to need someone to roll a d100.
>>
Rolled 51 (1d100)

>>52932646
Let's do it
>>
>>52932682
Congrats! We're a Modified Human: Organic.

That means we started life as a regular dude, but had some or all of our organs swapped out for SUPER organs! It also means we heal fast, for some reason.

I need 7 d100 to determine our stats.
>>
Rolled 22 (1d100)

>>52932766
Rollin'
>>
Rolled 86, 67 = 153 (2d100)

>>52932766
Have you got a PDF or anything?

Rolled 96 (1d100)

I'll give us a roll to keep the ball rolling. After mine, we'll need 3 more!

>>52932867
Our Fighting skill is Good!

>>52932890
Our Agility is Incredible, and our Strength is Remarkable!

And yep here's the PDF.
>>
Rolled 69 (1d100)

>>52932951
Neat thanks.
>>
Rolled 42, 48 = 90 (2d100)

>>52932951
>>
>>52932951
Our Endurance is Incredible!

>>52932967
No problem homie.

Our Reason is Remarkable.

>>52932977
Our Intuition and Psyche are both Excellent!

So here are our stats:
Fighting: Good
Agility: Incredible
Strength: Remarkable
Endurance: Incredible
Reason: Remarkable
Intuition: Excellent
Psyche: Excellent

With that out of the way, give me a d100 for our total number of powers.
>>
Rolled 46 (1d100)

>>52933028
>>
>>52933044
That gives us four powers, a respectable number! As well, as our hero grows and learns, he might be able to develop two additional powers!

I need 1d100 for the category, 1d100 for the specific power, and 1d100 for the strength of that power.
>>
Rolled 50 (1d100)

>>52932646

One of the all time, most fun systems, for character creation!
>>
Rolled 90 (1d100)

>>52933101
>>
>>52933101
>>52933109
50: A Matter Conversion power!
20: Our power is Combustion! Our hero has the ability to make things spontaneously combust! More specifically, he converts the surface of target into a highly combustible material that then ignites. Without continuously targeting something, the flames will burn themselves out in the space of 5 or so seconds, unless the target was already flammable to begin with. Pretty nifty! If we don't like one of our later powers, we now have the option of trading it for Fire Control.

>>52933128
With a roll of 90, our Combustion power is Amazing!

>>52933110
And fun to play, but the creation really is the draw.

I'm going to need three more rolls for Power #2.
>>
Rolled 83 (1d100)

>>52933206
assuming still d100, rolling
>>
Rolled 94 (1d100)

>>52933206
>>
Rolled 67 (1d100)

>>52933206
>>
>>52933221
Yeah, it's d100 the whole way with this.

>>52933223
83 then 94 then 67:

Our next power is an odd one, especially given our first: Water Freedom! Essentially, our hero's body is adapted for movement through water; that is to say we can move as freely through water as normal people can air. This is due to our hero being immensely strong and durable, increasing our Strength and Endurance by two ranks while on land, but reducing Agility by two ranks as well. We will be able to replace a power with Water Breathing later on, if we so choose. As well, Water Freedom, being a static power, doesn't get a power ranking.

Let's see three more d100 for the next power!
>>
Rolled 44 (1d100)

>>52933291
>>
Rolled 48 (1d100)

>>52933306
>>
Rolled 12 (1d100)

>>52933291
>>
Rolled 4 (1d100)

>>52933291
>>
>>52933335
Fuck.
>>
>>52933306
>>52933311
>>52933332
This next one is also a little odd: Geoforce!

Our hero can detect and control geological forces such as faults, stresses, and vulcanism. We are able to accelerate, slow, or alter these forces, but our ability to do so is quite weak: Poor, in fact. We would have difficulty causing even minor tremors.

Three more for power number four!
>>
Rolled 45 (1d100)

>>52933371
>>
Rolled 66 (1d100)

>>52933371
>>
>>52933371
So so far, we have fire, water and earth based powers....
>>
Rolled 84 (1d100)

>>52933371
So, uh, is this guy just going to end up having 4 elemental powers but weirdly specific ones?
>>
>>52933381
If we roll wind next...We're fucking Capt Planet
>>
>>52933371
I have a name for our guy: Jacuzzi-Man
>>
>>52933393
Commodore Tera
>>
>>52933376
>>52933378
>>52933381
>>52933389
>>52933393
We're going to be the world's shittiest Avatar.

For real though, power 4 is Machine Animation. We can control the movement of anything mechanical. Our hero functions both as a remote control, and as a way of powering the device: for example, we could make an unplugged power drill run from across the room. Our ability to move the objects is limited to them dragging along the floor, bumping and rattling (unless of course they have a built in form of locomotion). Our ability to control machines is Amazing!

What a delightfully mixed up fellow, give me a second to organize a running character sheet.
>>
This kinda makes me think of a human oil derrick.
>>
I'm going to vote for replacing shitty Geoforce with fire control or water breathing.
>>
Stats:
>Fighting: Good
>Agility: Incredible (Excellent on land)
>Strength: Remarkable (Amazing on land)
>Endurance: Incredible (Monstrous on land)
>Reason: Remarkable
>Intuition: Excellent
>Psyche: Excellent

Powers:
>Amazing Combustion
>>Options to replace other powers: Fire Control

>Water Freedom
>>Options to replace other powers: Water Breathing

>Poor Geoforce

>Amazing Machine Control
>>Options to replace other powers: Communicate with Cybernetics

>We received our powers from having some of our organs replaced.

Do we want to replace any powers? How would we fluff this monstrosity?
>>
>>52933476
>Has fire, water, earth and tech based powers
So, what are we, some sort of guy obessed with steampunk? Fire to power things, earth to help with mining, tech to tech things and water to... swim.I vote to replace the swimming thing with Fire Control
>>
>>52933507
As undesirable as it is to go full Aquaman ,Water Breathing does seem like a better choice than our bad Geoforce. I second replacing Geoforce with Water Breathing.
>>
>>52933536
Replace Geoforce with Water Breathing.
>>
So with water, tech, and fire... Maybe some sort of Byzantine Dromon themed character??
>>
>>52933507
>>52933564
>>52933592
Two votes to swap geoforce for water breathing!

If we want, we could fluff our water freedom as our hero constantly combusting the layer of water directly around him, rather than be crazy-strong. So basically he'd be surrounded by a thin layer of steam while underwater.

Does that sound good, or do we want to stick with the super strength angle?

As well, our powers come fro having some organs swapped: which ones were upgraded/swapped?
>>
>>52933621
Our magnum dong was replaced with some aliens weird junk
>>
>>52933621
we obviously have gills instead of one of our lung
>>
>>52933536
Replace Geoforce for Communication with Cybernetics or Fire Control

also, OP, very fun idea AND you have shown me a new system. Thanks!
>>
>>52933536
>>52933621

Our character was implanted with alien organs/bio tech as part of an experiment or possibly super soldier program.
>>
>>52933680
HYDRA super-soldier experiments using salvaged alien DNA?
Of course, the hero manages to break free and go full Kamen Rider Ichigo on his or her captors.

>>52933614
Ancient naval warfare man! Sounds like something from who's line is it anyways.
>>
>>52933650
>>52933680
>>52933647
How's this: our lungs were replaced by a crazy alien-engineered wingdanger of some sort.

Not only does it let us breathe water, but it alters our blood which somehow lets us control and create fire. Also, we can control machines, somehow? Maybe our brain was also implanted with a universal remote of some sort.
>>
>>52933621
>As well, our powers come fro having some organs swapped: which ones were upgraded/swapped?
Lungs replaced with basically an alien turbine system that draws in oxygen from the surroundings (through the skin?) and uses it to power combustion powers. Frontal lobe enhanced with alien biotech for machine control.
>>
>>52933725
One more for this idea
>>
>>52933621
I vote on our SKIN being swapped out organ.

Special oils in our skin make the combustion powers.
>>
>>52933788
It also explains how tough we are and why we move so well underwater.
>>
>>52933788
Yeah skin gives us water breathing once we swap if out our geoforce for that power. Some kind of osomosis
>>
>>52933757
Nanomachines were used extensively to help make sure our body doesn't reject the lungs, but they're also incorporated into our brain.
>>
>>52933788
Also works with the Greek angle.
>>
>>52933788
>>52933806
It could even explain the machine control thing, because our skin allows us to directly interface with technology.
>>
>>52933757
>>52933767
>>52933788
>>52933810
So, skin, lungs, and part of brain replaced with alien biotech shit?
>>
>>52933206
BAM! PURE POTASSIUM.
>>
>>52933841
don't forget the cock
>>
>>52933871
alien foreskin
>>
>>52933788
Definitely this
>>
So here's a hybridization of everything:

Our skin and respiratory system was completely rebuilt by HYDRA using recovered alien DNA. We are able to extract oxygen and other gases from the air directly through our skin; our skin can even filter the oxygen form water.

A byproduct of the new respiratory system is that our skin can secrete a highly flammable oil, and we can even project it at great range. Our body can produce it seemingly as fast as we can use it. As well, our respiratory system is so efficient it has given us a form of super strength and durability, though we have slight difficulty with fine/agile tasks as we overcompensate to a degree.

As part of the HYDRA project, we were implanted with a mind control remote of some sort. Unbeknownst to HYDRA, the alien DNA creates a form of biological nanobots that were able to reprogram and enhance the brain chip, allowing us to even control machines pseudo-telepathically.

Also, they gave us an alien magnum dong.
>>
>>52933901
Fuckin' love it.
>>
>>52933901
Beautiful

So if we have alien sin, does that mean we're one of those supers that can't really have a secret identity and integrate back into human society?

Pic related as like a classic Marvel example
>>
>>52933918
*skin, not sin...

but considering the alien dong...
>>
>>52933918
That's a good question: does the alien skin look alien? Or does it only look weird when we're secreting our fire-sauce?
>>
>>52933918
We excrete oily shit, right? Pimples. Hideous fucking pimples that burst out gasoline pus.
>>
>>52933933
Hehehe
>>52933934
>>52933942
I imagine its sort of....toad like or salamandery
>>
>>52933918
I was thinking black like an orca or dark grey-pink like a hagfish, but otherwise normal looking. Hairless and bald though.
>>
>>52933934
Personally, I was imagining it as human-looking but perpetually greasy.
>>
>>52933974
Hag fish do secrete oils don't they
>>
>>52933983
>>52933974
>>52933962
>>52933942
Current ideas for appearance:
>covered in acne
>regular, but greasy
>like an orca
>like a hagfish
>like a salamander (works with the fire angle)
>bronze (if we stick with the dromon theme)
>>
>>52934052
Does our magnum dong secrete oil as well?
>>
What about a super hero name?
I'd personally suggest The Torpedo

Going by >>52933962 Salamander seems good too since they're amphibians and associated with fire.

Our hero is Scott Burnam, aka The Salamander: an escaped HYDRA experiment that was modified with alien DNA.

Should we create a nemesis for him? Perhaps a HYDRA experiment that stayed loyal?

Hellbender sounds cooler.

Seconding >>52934257

So what was Salamander/Hellbender (whichever we go with) like before they were turned into a Hydra lab rat?

What's their age?

Does the massive alien dong belong to a dude or a lady?

What did they look like before the hideous alien mutant skin? Because I'm sure it's something they obsess over.

Any friends/lovers/family that are obviously aren't gonna really recognize them anymore?

Is their anything about their past that motivates them to be a hero other than getting revenge on HYDRA?

What's their non-superhero name?

Basically, who is Hellbender/Salmander besides their powers?
>>
>>52934361
The only way I could think to make that work would be some sort of regulator implant. Like our guy can't accurately control the amount of grease his body produces, so HYDRA installed a slime pacemaker of some kind.

That could act as an interface with machines. S'all I got.
>>
>>52934361
Does anyone second this?

>>52934354
Hellbender does sound cooler, you're right.

>>52934365
So our villain is a Demihuman: Avian. He's some sort of birdlike fellow, somewhere between just a guy with wings on his back, to a full on harpy-like. Which is it? And roll 1d100 to determine how he got this way.

Name: Salvador Sagredo
Age: 36
Occupation: Programmer / Handyman

A down economy and massive student loan debt condemned Mr. Sagredo to a life of blue-collar toil. Though highly skilled with computers and proficient in dozens of programming languages, large tech firms simply weren't looking for bright new talent. He fell into his father's line of work, that of a handyman, to make ends meet and to feed his growing family.

That was twelve years ago. Sagredo has all but given up on ever rising from the small two-bedroom apartment he calls home. He got a call one day from an odd number with an odd dial tone asking for a handyman for a quick job downtown.

Long story short, one of HYDRA's lesser goons had made an oopsie and needed a cleaner / lab rat. He opened the phone book to a random page and landed on "Sagredo Handy Services."

The rest is history. (Someone else come up with the details of this guy's change, or make something better.)
>>
>>52934423
He was exposed to some sort of exotic chemical compound, which violently transformed him into some sort of terrifying harpy-man. His talons make him a formdiable fighter.

Let's do stats now!

Hydra has harnessed the powers of Kek for they're evil schemes! They know not what they do!
>>
>>52934407
I second it.

>>52934376
I imagine he's kind of a regular guy, albeit maybe a little sleazy and crude. He's a good guy at heart though.

Mid twenties, got on board with this whole hydra initiative to pay off his student loans. He has parents who are slightly estranged but not dead or anything, he just hasn't seen them since he was altered.. He's probably pretty okay with being a weird techno-amphibian on a deep level, but is outwardly very shy about it and doesn't like people seeing him. Especially women he doesn't know.

He's got a regular type "With great power comes great responsibility" outlook besides wanting to take down HYDRA. He's not a douche and honestly would like to do the right thing.

Our power is Incredible Physical Resistance. The villain can resist attacks that take physical form, from being sprayed with acid, falling in a volcano, or being shot. He can resist any physical attack of a ranking of Incredible or lower: truly terrifying, he is immune to our combustion attacks!

Let's get three more rolls for power four.
>>

okay the rolls are really making these two fit as nemesis-es well.

Oh, he's pretty much a horror movie villain. He can endlessly track people with the super smell and can't be killed with conventional means.
>>
>>52934987
>>52934993
>>52934997
He can still drown! Theoretically, we could suffocate him by burning all the oxygen around him.

Power number 4 is Remarkable Mechanical Creation! Our villain can create complex mechanical devices from essentially thin air, at a rate of 26 ounces of material every 5 seconds or so. However, the machines break down much faster than regularly created ones: perhaps as a result of our villain's low booksmarts, they tend to fall apart within minutes. As well, the villain must have detailed knowledge of the things he wants to create. Optional powers are Mechanical Animation (limited to his creations), Hyper Intelligence, and Hyper Invention.

Let's get three rolls for our final power!

So we still need a d100 for intensity, but here's our power:

The villain can spontaneously create sprays of gas or powder of some sort: this is generally combined with another power that doesn't normally have a projected format. In our case, it could be perhaps combined with Resistance, to give things an invulnerable coating? Or perhaps some sort of smell-based attack? I'm at a loss for this one.

Alternatively, it could just create harmless smoke/vapour, like a smoke grenade sor tof effect. It doesn't get optional powers or a power ranking. Give me a minute to get the character sheet together!
>>
Stats:
>Fighting: Incredible
>Agility: Good
>Strength: Feeble
>Endurance: Excellent
>Reason: Feeble
>Intuition: Incredible
>Psyche: Excellent

Powers:
>Astral Projection within one mile.
>>Optional powers: Extradimensional Detection

>Hyper-Smelling

>Incredible Physical Resistance, making him essentially immune to our flame powers and most small arms.

>Spontaneous Mechanical Creation
>>Optional powers: Animating his creations, Hyper-Intelligence, Hyper Invention

>Spray: can be combined with another power, or be used to create a smoke-grenade effect.

What powers, if any, will we switch?
>>
>>52935218

I vote to replace this with one of the optional powers

Probably Mechanical Animation (limited to his creations), Hyper Intelligence, or Extradimensional Detection
>>
>>52935285
voting for mechanical animation, makes sense
>>
So we managed to make the hero make sense themeatically but this one really is a mess.
>>
>>52935285
>>52935313
Makes sense to me! What's his signature creation?
>>
>>52935342
We have an invincible bird-man who's really dumb but wickedly cunning like an animal, but somehow also creates and controls complex machines with his mind. Also he can project an astral body and has super smelling.

>who's really dumb but wickedly cunning like an animal, but somehow also creates and controls complex machines with his mind
We could fix that just by taking the Hyper Intelligence.
>>
>>52935386
It's probably a terrible terrible terrible idea but it'd be more thematic.
>>
>>52935386
I think hyper-smelling would be a good candidate for that, or it could be a way of getting rid of astral body.

>>52935172
>>52935375
It seems like these could be combined: if we go with the bird-man approach they could be little vultures or something: if we go the angel route they could be little cherubs with lasers or something?
>>
>>52935415
I think hyper-smelling would be a good candidate for that, or it could be a way of getting rid of astral body.

I would for getting rid of the astral projection power. It just doesn't fit.
>>
>>52935590
>>52935386
>>52935403
Then let's get a d100 roll for how smart our super-brain is!
>>
Replace the fumes with the ability to animated his creations.

Then we got a durable flying man with animalistic intuition who stalks his prey endlessly, using little flying robots (who can be individually controlled) and an astral form to win through wearing them down or mind games. Possible angel theme?

The Heavenly Hunter?
Stratos?
>>
>>52935788
The Manifest Destiny
>>
>>52935731
Our villain now has excellent intelligence!

Our proposed new powerset is:
Hyper-Intelligence
Machine Creation
Machine Animation
Resistance
Hyper Scent

A way to make this more thematic: our villain was originally some sort of wildchild, or just a dumb but vicious hit man of some sort. HYDRA saw potential in him as an agent, and gave him a super-serum which massively power up his brain, giving him super-intellect and the ability to create and control machines. Using his super-technology, he created a set of mechanical wings which he then implanted himself.

Thoughts?
>>
>>52935825
Makes sense. And he was designed to be a super-hunter, which explains his hyper scent.
>>
>>52935825
So, Hydra gave the superserum to a guy with just super smelling?
Maybe it would be better if he originally was a demi-bird with wings but also hyper-inteligence and super-smelling and after joining Hydra they gave him the ability to create and control machines, but thats just from my point of view.

I like the idea of both of them having powers thanks to Hydra experiments. Maybe they were collegues before, or they already hated each other and now they have the oportunity to battle it out.

I prefer the last one.
>>
>>52935825
Feel like the astral projection had good synergy with the durability, and animalistic instinct could've made for a more unique approach, rather than just straight tech
>>

I'm afraid I have to dip out to finish a term paper, you guys keep discussing and figure out more about our hero and villain!

And if you want to take a crack at rolling up another hero or villain, the PDF is higher up somewhere.
>>
>>52935897
It was not a regular superserum, but a superserum designed for a hunter.

Or it is the result of a prank of our hero who triggered this power because he wanted Birdman to feel the full effects of his farts
>>
>>52935825
>>52935897
>>52935907
What if Seraphim name suggestion, the highest ranking angel in the Christian hierarchy that sing constant praises to God; this reflects how they have continued to hold their metal conditioning and praise HYDRA was someone from Hellbender's past but due to the mind fuckery from HYDRA neither of them remember who. Seraphim's body's been so twisted by experimentation that it's hard to tell if they were even male or female to begin with, this would play into the angelic theme.
>>
What about this for a compromise:
Villain starts off as already winged, joins HYDRA to find a way to reconstruct a normal human body for himself. Rivals with hero, eyeing a technopath serum the entire time to make a mechanical back. Hero gets fed up with HYDRA, takes a slew of serums, including the technopath one, and leaves. In a fit of rage, villain takes a hunter superserum that grants him animalistic instinct, durability, and hyper scent (and astral body if you guys are still debating that). More in touch with the animal side of himself, he decides to accept himself and makes little hivemind robots in -his- own image. He then goes out on an endless hunt for Hellbender, trying to reclaim the serum that (in his mind) is rightfully his
>>
>Hell bender versus Salamander

Maybe He'll bender was his codename when he was with HYDRA, but he switched to Salamander after going rogue.

Also, his oily skin would likely make it even easier for this bird asshole to track him.

I like having both of them. I still think it'd be neat if Hell is more or less a normal kinda smart dude who got changed and Seraphim was already a super hitman but with no brains who got changed. It makes the whole fight angle "everyday man vs exceptionalism" yet even with his super smarts Seraphim knows he was dumber than Hell. Hey guys, OP here.

I really like the whole thing where Avian (or whatever his name is) was at HYDRA as the same time as Salamander, and developed their rivalry there. Is Frog-Bot (name pending) also a HYDRA project?
