>Faster Character Creation — package-buy character creation lets people build characters quickly without overlooking necessary items. Point-based character creation and tweaking is still available.
>Streamlined Resleeving — an aptitude-linked pool system means that skills don’t need to be recalculated when a character resleeves.
>Updated Gameplay — number of skills reduced, necessary skills made easier to acquire, gear costs eliminated.
>Four Sample Teams — pre-fabbed teams can be dropped right into a game and serve as examples of balanced parties.
>Redesigned Book — a spread-based organization keeps material close-at-hand with less page-flipping.

They've also said that the skill list has been cut down by about half, and that the setting isn't really going to be changed.

Remains to be seen. The promised updates to the mechanics sound good but if you've got issues with the setting you're not going to see any improvements there.

Not that we'll know for sure until they start releasing playtest material. Maybe that'll cut down on the shitty editing of the first release.

>>
>>52892726
Will they be rewriting any of the setting?
>>
>>52908763
They're mentioned that some things have changed, like the Mars space elevator is at Pavonis Mons rather than Olympus - so they're not afraid of moving stuff around. But the setting is "mostly the same" so what that amounts to is right now a big pile of 'who knows'.
>>
>>52908942
Pavonis mons is way closer to the equator. Good choice.
>>
>>52909013
I agree that that particular choice makes sense, but how stuff like that extends to various other speculations like maybe making the Jovians/PC more well rounded is very much up in the air. So far, there's no indication of a broader reimagining or updating of the setting beyond technical 'accuracy'.

We'll see soon, I suppose. Or not. All I've heard is that the Kickstarter launches, doesn't mean the beta test launches too...

>>
>>52910782
No idea! The email didn't say.

>>52910966
Emphasize autonomy over anarchy - anarchy can come later. Focus on the many habitats who want to do their own (still statist, but less repressive) thing, emphasize democracy and social support systems. Try and make the Jovian military seem comical, oppressive, and hypocritical. You can seduce the independent republics to whatever flavor of anarchy you're into after you've broken the grip of the Junta.
>>
>>52910966

Probably do what subversives do now, try and educate the locals through the filtration and censorship by the government. Let them know that there's reliable nanomedicine which is not killing the millions of people outside the republic. If they're all lifeless copies, the 200 million people on Mars are living pretty normal lives for it.

The anarchist angle would be to emphasize that hey, you don't need a massive government to lead a safe, productive life. People are out in the void doing it with much less resources and space than the Republic wastes.

>>52910966

So it's time to buy it all again! On the upside though, they did say that most of the fluff books will be compatible with 2e, so having the splats is still probably fine.

How far would people go to modify themselves for working in 0 g? Pic related, the opposable thumbs on the feet would be pretty useful in 0g.
>>
>>52914715
All that good shit form basic biomods is nice (no bone density loss, etc). For a morph which is never expected to serve in a gravity well having another pair of arms instead of legs is useful, sort of like a tree-living monkey.
>>
>>52914715
Oddly, it's the most recent splatbooks that won't be compatible. You know, the ones they've been working on alongside 2E.

You know they're not actually radially symmetric, right? Not like a sea anemone or true roundworms
>>
>>52915033

Nah, post human is by like 3 core people at all times. I assume X-Risks was intended basically to kind of cap off 1E with all the material they had - or perhaps designing so many stat-blocks made them realize how they could improve but didn't want to delay such an anticipated title.
>>
>>52910254

The Trump moon will be a bloated, overdesigned housing complex for the Jovian rich, covered in rotting orange plantlife from a botched terraforming attempt.
>>
>>52915376
Well, hopefully it'll be relatively easy to port over to 2e, since they're keeping mostly the same ruleset right?

>>52915388
Dear god I hope not.

>>52915270
Sure, but they're close enough surely. You can't get much more radially symmetric than an octopus and still be practically useful.
>>
>>52915986

I think the FAQ does basically say 'Yeah, so all the stats in X-Risks will be incorrect in 2E but conversion won't be hard". Since that is the 5% which they claim is invalidated in like every other splat book I'm assuming conversion/compatibility is a design goal here. We'll see tonight maybe when they start the KS and outline it.
>>
>>52915986
>You can't get much more radially symmetric than an octopus and still be practically useful.

I expect additional adventures or other stuff in 2E form - maybe even some lofty goals - otherwise probably it's just little stuff like the morph cards or something. Changing editions gives them a lot of room for little addon levels and stretch goals. And they're pretty tied in in some tabletop communities to, like RPPR is going to blast about this while it's going on, probably will several other podcasts and associated game designers.

In brief, it is a theoretical argument that roleplaying games-- as highly malleable, interactive media-- are fertile sites of political imagination. I perform an exegetical analysis of Eclipse Phase to illustrate the potential of truly politically sophisticated games and suggest that they can help to shift peoples' consciousness in less prejudiced directions, as well as engineer empathy for others.

Alright, they updated.

They're working on trying to get cheaper international shipping, and will release the open playtest on the 5th.

First two stretches were announced, at 70k all freelancers get 10% extra cash (which Is cool for them I guess) but at 85k they will release an NPC File 2.

I feel like it's a bit odd to put your first stretch goal at double the actual goal, but I guess since they said in their update that the original goal was only half the actual price it makes a bit more sense. Hopefully they don't go overboard with the stretch goals and end up pulling a star citizen, since this looks to be getting a lot more than the goal.
>>
>>52940683

Well, hopefully they learned from Transhuman NOT to overburden themselves with promised products - even if they're just digital. I suspect though they'll have a few things in their back pocket to encourage international backers if they get the shipping sorted out. They also seem like they're getting a few retailers to jump in so they might have bonuses geared toward that as well.

The new NPC File looks like a good option, one that'll be more robust than the first NPC file (and presumably in 2E).
>>
>>52940683
>>52940645

Well, it is a concept art.

It's an M4-type thing with a big drum-looking magazine, which the art depicts fairly well. Perhaps this was the instructions given to the artist, perhaps it is how the artist chose to title the concept based on how they drew it. Either way, technical specifications and terminology are for an entirely different box of nerds to sort out.
>>
>>52940974
>an M4-type thing
What does that even mean though?
>>
>>52941036

Well, since this was for a movie (Elysium) it probably lets your propmakers and/or CGI artists know to base the design on the M4.
>>
>>52940645
Helical magazines store rounds that are pointing parallel to the axis of rotation. This clearly holds them perpendicular to the axis of rotation, which makes it a sort of pan magazine, which are also called "drum magazines", which can also refer to magazines that store rounds in an outwardly spiraling manner.

>>52939700
That way the tips are on the inside rather than the rims. The fat end on the inside makes it much more difficult to feed and makes the whole thing bigger.

Even the worst case scenario seems relatively mild compared to that. This was already in production and they have a solid timeline, with plans for digital versions to be complete by GenCon (in August), and playtests to begin to backers a week after the KS launches.

The only real problem I have with them is Singularity, and that seems like some amateur fuckup garage developer telling them "hey any developer that's not a complete idiot could do what you want, easy" - which is *true* - and then neglected to mention the part where they're a complete idiot. Which sucks, and is absolutely their problem...but it seems to be a problem that's limited to them being bad at buying software (a lot of otherwise good companies have this problem) and not indicative of broader failing.
>>
>>52942870

Honestly, they seem kind of like they're going to obsolete the point of Singularity by making character creation inherently streamlined in 2E - I feel like the demand for such software tools was only so high because the original chargen was so fiddly, with options expanding across many books. It wasn't difficult, but it's the kind of thing which would be annoying to do say, in the moment without needing to dig through a few pdfs and scribbling lots of notes.

For luddite plebs who don't have access to ctrl+f PDFs and online character sheet sharable documents at all times - all hail internet tabletop

Abyssals are the default evil exalted. This is from their 3e preview.

>Soul-Feeding Fascination: The Lover’s apprentice can drain her victims through sexual intercourse. The deathknight may choose a resource to sap from her victim: draining willpower also prevents the target from using willpower at his next Decision Point; sapping health boxes temporarily adds to the Abyssal’s health track, while reducing her victim’s—victim also suffers a penalty on rolls to resist illness or derangement. The Abyssal can also tap her target’s motes, temporarily lowering their permanent Essence by 1

>Frozen Watchfire Embrace: Sometimes the Lover’s apprentice has nothing but time on her hands. Other times, she
is simply tired of playing with her toys. This Charm allows the Abyssal to conjure lascivious specters from the echoes of the void, to set upon a paramour she has inflicted with SoulFeeding Fascination. These wraiths will attempt to ravish her target while taking the form of the Abyssal or past acquaintances of the target, sapping the victim as per the rules of
Soul-Feeding Fascination.

>Carnal Shadow Resurrection: When the Exalt has completely drained a target’s health by use of Soul-Feeding Fascination, she can trigger this Charm to turn her victim into a creature of darkness that must pursue sexual gratification in order to survive.

They're actually thematic for charms based on the Deathlord known as the Lover Clad in the Raiment of Tears.

You have to cut people some slack when they're more successful than planned. New to this game. Getting to character creation.

I want to create a super old geezer whose basically been around since our time in real life, but left Earth a long time before the Fall to go do whatever on his own, private habitat. He regularly yells at intruders to get off his habitat. What background would that fall under? Isolate?
>>
So what exactly are the pros and cons of still having physical morphs, or even biomorphs, in spaceships? I know this is like a meme question to ask but I missed that conversation and the archives aren't giving me anything.

I'm dead serious about asking this. Why would I not simply have the crew of a ship be all informorphs, saving costs on life support and living quarters?
>>
>>52946847
You need to either bring morphs with you or have some at the destination if your passengers don't want to stay infomorphs, and physical bodies find it much easier to do maintenance than infomorphs with access to waldos.

You could have everybody be swarmanoids or flexbots and just put the other morphs in storage.
>>
>>52946847

Pros: Hands

Cons: Air
>>
>>52949526
>>52946847

Also, in a more serious tone environmental/life support tech in EP is pretty advanced and stable out of necessity, some basic maker units or a more conventional air and water scrubbing system would probably be relatively cheap and low mass compared to the volume of say, cargo a Bulk Carrier would move.
>>
>>52945585

>>
>>52952985

Well, I don't remember how well it's presented in that particular section - but I think in context the idea is casual sex is the norm over longer term relationships, because "til death do us part" doesn't work for most people anymore. Or at least, is not planned to. You don't hedge your bets based on mortality.

But, you never know, that'd be something to discuss with some kind of sociology expert. Give a couple decades for the technology to percolate, suddenly there is no more "don't get teen pregnant or AIDS" concern, see if people get more open about just banging.

I think people would be more likely to get in "Until we grow apart" relationships since sure, mortality doesn't really bind you anymore. But the idea of "casual sex is the norm" implies a lack of monogamy, which doesn't fit with the emotional needs of a diverse set of people. Would more people in the EP universe fuck casually? Totally. Would it be the "norm"? I doubt it. If anything, there's interesting room for exploration of transhumanism in relation to long term relationships. How many times have you wanted to change your body or personality to suit your partner's needs or desires? What if you could actually DO that through resleeving or psycho surgery. Your annoying tics? Gone. That unsightly body hair pattern? Gone. The capability for someone in a loving relationship to LITERALLY change who they are for the person they care about and the ramifications of actually being able to get exactly what you want out of a relationship is interesting writing space, and I hate to see it wasted.
>>

>>
>>52955756
Outside of a scum barge or cluster I figure there is a distribution. Belling up in the middle and tapered to either end.

At one extreme you have asexuals and non-gendered things, just doing whatever they do, or rather don't do. And then a rather broader central group of "normal" people who tend to serial monogamy or trio arrangements. Just past this would be the many-partner groups, heinlein-style line marriages and pods and clusters. The far-end extreme would probably be some kind of wackadoodle habitat with hundreds of egos in matching male and fem morph sets where everyone is John or Jane or something? People be weird, yo.

And then Scum. on a different chart entirely. because scum.
>>
>>52955756
>I think people would be more likely to get in "Until we grow apart" relationships since sure
As opposed to what other kind of relationships? By definition any relationship ends either in death or breakup - backups and resleeving make "death" all but impossible, so all you're left with is "grow apart" as the end condition.
>>
>>52955756

Well, this could be an issue of definition. The author's intent by what is meant by casual sex could be different than us readers, or a academically accepted definition.

Presuming people who start relationships are interested in fucking, why don't they? It's pretty intimate sure, but also supposed to be entertaining. But, we have societal hangups about the investment. But, if there's 100% reliable risk-free sex, why does that hang-up exist? It would entirely be based on other intangible and outdated cultural mechanisms. Because I don't think "can't kiss before the third date" or anything has a biological foundation - and if it does biomods might remove it. In a society with different risks, different resources and different limitations, different behaviors are promoted.

So maybe casual sex is monogamous. You see somebody, you like their body, you like their personality, you wanna bang. You can bang. Maybe it goes somewhere past that maybe it doesn't. And hey, if it doesn't work out now, maybe it'll work out and come back around again in 5 years. 10 years? 100 years? These are cultures who will have to adapt to the possibility that they are functionally eternal.

But hey, not my field of expertise, I'm just throwing darts at a board here.

Oh, that was totally the gimmick. He inhabits the original body he was born with, kept alive through years of treatments, but the age really shows, and it won't be long before's he's actually forced to get a new morph, or redo his old body so much that it might as well be new.

'Till then, he's an absolutely ancient codger.

>>52955756

I know, there is actually a lot of room to be explored in terms of monogmous relationships. Now that shallow concepts of beauty mean very little, what does love look like? Will more men turn 'homosexual' in the sense that they find it easier to be with 'male' egos in woman's bodies? Will there be a disproportionate amount of female morphs around? How is physical attraction effected when most everyone is attractive, and does this make people question whether getting into a long-term relationship is worth it, since finding your ideal-looking mate isn't a once-in-a-lifetime event, but actually quite likely?

When you meet someone you really like, who doesn't feel the same way for you, you can quite literally change yourself into someone they do want. How will that effect how relationships end up forming? Will people be expected to change themselves for others, or are people expected to respect personality traits and whatnot?

EP has so many fascinating consequences for all the technology it introduces.

>>52958481

Can you? It seems implied that you can't but if so, it would be amazing if this character was literally the one to write the book that built the foundations of modern computer science.

So I'm about to GM a game of this, and reading through all the lore and such to familarize myself with the game. I know the core book says it's full of bias from the article writers, and should be taken with a grain of salt, but I still have a few problems.

First, racial and ethnic bias being gone. Bullshit. There are almost certainly going to be old boys networks of white supremacists who were naturally born white, and still believe that whites are superior. Same with other races.

Fuck, I bet there would still be racists for whom, even if someone transferred into a white body, could never truly become white.

So bullocks to that.

Second, Christinaity dieing. LOL. Good joke, m8. I can easily see the Fall being interpreted as the literal Rapture, with the sinful being purged, and the faithful being taken up to heaven. All the logical fallacies in that probably wouldn't sway them. Even then, I could still see Christianity stubbornly surviving on.
>>
>>52977263

Cultural and sociopolitical identity is way more important than racial or ethnic ones. While some of the Lunars still remember the scrapes and scuffles of the nations past most people in the remaining population centers of the Solar System are immigrants all of a particular time period, and national identity has typically been left in the dust on the Cradle. Racial identity is also so ludicrously easy to fake in EP there's almost no purpose in it. "racial" culture doesn't really exist, that's an illusion. Your group would have to be so insular and paranoid, they'd never amount to anything - which is the primary concern of the setting, letting you know what moves and shakes people.

Also, "white supremacy" and the like is chump change to serious eugenics groups like the Ultimates. You tell a remade he's worse off because he's brown, he'll break your genetrash ass in places you didn't know could break.

Think of it as further welcoming to the "future". The shit you think is a defining aspect of the human struggle is ultimately chump change. The desire for man to fuck over his fellow man doesn't need to keep wearing the same face, it'll change with the time.
>>
>>52977263
My personal beef is that it's the Catholic church rather than some sect of Islam as the Jovians. It betrays the writers bias when it comes to which religion gets thrown under the bus of progress.
>>
>>52977263
>>52977638
Besides, theres still some ethnic-based conflicts happening; some towns in the Martian outback are kinda like urban Hawai'i when my grandpa was growing up; the Chinese, Japanese, and Okinawan populations arent exactly getting along peacefully
>>
>>52977718

Yeah, this is kind of my point - if you take a macro scale view of the setting, racism in our world view is small potatoes, people have shit like flesh vs steel and the fact that sapient AIs and Octopodes are wandering around among many other things to fight over.

That said, I think conflicts like the one you describe do have nothing to do with appearance inherently, in a corp town on Mars all those people might be Red or Silver instead of anything else - the issue is that they still think of themselves as the cultural units such as Okinawan or Japanese - just like I'm sure you'll find some Brits and Irish people squabbling in some dank corner of the System too.
>>
>>52977695

Well, if it wasn't the Jovians who were Catholic, we'd still have a boat load of them wherever the South Americans ended up. And they would have ended up somewhere, I'm pretty sure the northern end of the continent is a great place to slap a Space Elevator.

D-do you not understand how racism works?

White supremacists don't see race as just skin color. It's who you are, and always will be. Of course they're still going to hate anyone who isn't certifiably white - born to white people, bred from pure white genestock (without any additions from other races), etc.

People would probably go full-autist over that stuff, and found their own habitat, where everyone is 100% racially white, where they live out some wet fever dream of 1950s America.

Your response to my making this statement was that there are other, more serious affronts to racial, and even human purity. There most certainly are. Do you honestly think the fact that there are even bigger questions as to what constitutes the ideal human will stop people from being racist?

>>52977695

Yeah, for some reason the designers decided Islam would become somewhat secular, and end up surviving better than Christianity. The game designers are apparently the type of idiots to believe that because a bunch of sandpeople being angry and blowing things up for a few decades, that somehow makes them relevant.
>>
>>52979447

Okay, so a few thousand idiots hole up in an asteroid. Why should the game note this? People who actually matter because they're in large population centers are busy being bigoted against synths and AIs and shit. And their racial purity is still like extra illusionary.

Like society is already a construct, this is an additional contrived layer which is made meaningless by the setting. There is no actual way to distinguish between the real and the fake
>>
>>52977263
>Fuck, I bet there would still be racists for whom, even if someone transferred into a white body, could never truly become white.

What you are describing is biological realism. Simply put there are enough differences to speak about separate groups rather than one human race.

>Cultural and sociopolitical identity is way more important than racial or ethnic ones
That's a very western POV(or even Americanized).
While USA is a new country and tries to be a melting pot(not for long now though, it is already failing) the concept of nation is holy to most people on Earth.
Serbs, Poles, Czechs, Japanese define themselves as nationalities first based on their ethnicity. A black person can become Polish or Japanese citizen but will never be considered in these countries for a true Pole or Japanese
>>
>>52979447

There is no "white nationalism". It is something invented in America. German Neo-Nazis or British nationalists for example don't care about Poles having white skin color.
The idea that there is some unifying identity based on skin color is exclusive to USA, and maybe to some Western countries. In Europe the main differences are national and ethnic.
>>

It notes small habitats all the time.
>>

Mind you, that also applies to 'Black'. You don't find people from Africa and aboriginal people clustering and declaring they are the same people in Australia for example.

>My personal beef is that it's the Catholic church rather than some sect of Islam as the Jovians.
Is Islam widespread in the Titanian Commonwealth ?
Might be useful to re-write TC in more dystopic way, and include mandatory preferential treatment of Islamic citizens for past "European white injustice" as part of its policies. Also Titanian officials giving negative reputation to anyone who researches European culture, history or national identity.
>>
>>52977263
>>52977695
>>52977858
I find it odd that we're expected to believe that the Jovians would be Catholic because of Latinos. In Latin America Protestantism and atheism are both increasing, so if anything the Jovians should be as atheist as everyone else or at least mostly Protestant, considering they're a merger of a North American nations (largely Protestant) and South American nations (growing Protestant in the future).

And for that matter, what exactly has allowed Buddhism and Islam to thrive? Is there any explanation given for this AT ALL?
>>
>>52981040
I think the Identitarian movement in europe can be viewed as a white nationalist movement. Haven't looked into the movement further, but that's the general impression I have.

Sort of. The book notes that religion in general has seen big declines. My rational is that the writers of the book are progressive hipster pukes who have a hard-on for buddhism because it's "spiritual" without having a God or strict sense of authority. Or they just saw that Buddhism has been standing the test of time in real life because of said dipshits who want to be "spiritual".

As for Islam, I think that's just the writers letting their real-world views in. Because some sandpeople have caused a lot of trouble in recent years, that somehow means they're become relevant in our brave new frontier.

But if you're looking for an actual explanation for these things, no, they only say that for Buddhism, its philosophy fits will with modern life, and for Islam it 'adapted and even became more secular'. Because hardcore Muslims are ever going to let their religion become secular.
>>
>>52982280
Well, the neo-Buddhism described in the books is basically some kind of hedonic utilitarian tech cult. Intentionally staying in Samsara isn't really Buddhism.

I always figured the less crazy parts of Islam ran away to space pre-fall and were disproportionately likely to survive, but that may not be a satisfactory explanation.

Personally I generally ignore the bits on religion, because religion and transhuman make for a cool mix.
>>
>>52982280
>for Islam it 'adapted and even became more secular'. Because hardcore Muslims are ever going to let their religion become secular.
Given the resource depletion described in the pre-Fall history section of the corebook, presumably the Saudis lost a lot of their wealth, and with it, their ability to spread their Wahabbist strain of Islam.

Also most of the more extreme ones probably got hit the hardest by the TITANs along with all the other national militaries.
>>
>>52981134
IMO, the capacity for the rich and powerful to become effectively immortal pre-fall is probably a big influence on the effectiveness of maintaining religion. Imagine if Ayatollah Khomeini was able to live as long as his considerable wealth and power would let him. What would Iran look like today? All you need for Buddhism or Islam to thrive is for someone pre-fall to use charisma and cult of personality to gain early resleeving and then be able to consolidate and maintain their power base effectively infinitely.
>>
>>52984378
That said, Buddhist thought does seem kind of compatible with some kinds of Exhumanism/posthumanism, who have found liberation from selfhood and seek to show the rest of Transhumanity nirvana.

>>
>>52992254
Ah, now I get it, kind of writes you into a corner doesn't it? If they are real, and they turn it off then job's done and go home, and it's possible players don't grasp the enormity of their choice (like I initially did). If they are part of a simulation, then that's the end of your campaign, possibly (if they don't grasp what's at stake as above) seemingly totally out of the blue, or you can there transition to the real universe, which may be a little anti-climactic and wastes a bit of potential.

I think it's a good plot idea, but it'd have to be a one-shot, or the very end of your campaign.
>>
>>52892795
I did that as well.
>>
>>52958362
If they are well-simulated, then simulations will act the same way as the 'real' level hardware person.

Simulation traps are cool, but for this reason they don't work on Jovians. You-who-are-simulated have faith in yourself and activate the thermite atop the doom AI, and therefore you-outside-the-sim will do the same thing.

Hey look, more social justice nonsense on the Eclipse Phase forums:

http://eclipsephase.com/ep-and-disabled

>how can we allow for disabled characters to have representation in EP?

>I'm ambivalent, at best, to the prospect of a "cure."
>>
>>52994680
Given how common enhanced vision on places like Titan anyone who doesn't have that would be disabled proportionately.

But it's like 250$ to get that cured, so disabilities don't really exist in AF10.
>>
>>52995200
>so disabilities don't really exist in AF10.
B-BUT THEN HOW WILL THE DISABLED PEOPLE BE REPRESENTED?
>>
>>52994680

It's a blind guy, quizzing the forums on what they thing disabilities are like in the future. Ambivalence is on specific part of their own disability - probably same as anybody else, most humans don't like being told they can be "fixed".

That said, both he and >>52995200 are ultimately right, barring something like neural damage, only way you'll see that normally is in a Flat or some culture deliberately blocking access to cyberware/healing vats for actual injury. It would not be common at all barring rare circumstances which probably wouldn't be pleasant.
>>
>>52994680

People who want a disability as a fashion statement probably exist in some anarch outer colonies. Failing that, people can just sleeve into a sightless synth, there must be an echolocating or bloodhound uplift morph somewhere that doesn't rely on sight.
>>
>>52995685
Well, there's also stuff like functional autistic people. Would they exist or not?
>>
>>52995724
Botched psychosurgery could lead to autists still being around.
>>
>>52995724

I think we've tried to have this discussion before, but from what I remember the most we could come to was that it's inconclusive.

It would depend entirely on where autism physically lives in the body - if it's all like, core consciousness sectors of the brain that's like a permanent neural damage - your Ego will bear the marks of it wherever it goes, though of course "neurodiversity" is a thing people argue over in the setting. At the very least, if it's a genetic root there should be no new cases of autism spectrum disorders unless you're having Flats or deliberately making it.

Oh, and like >>52995748 said psychosurgery is still terrifying - you could cause autism-like behaviors or effectively create it through personality, memory and behavioral editing though making big stuff stick permanently is very hard as per the rules anyway.

The book says basic biomods 'impede aging', but then one sentence later say they make you 'largely immune to aging'.

I'm guessing this means it just takes longer for the years to show on you, but what ratio are we talking about here? 2:1? 3:1? More? Does someone just look like a 20-something during all their time? Do they start looking older, or do they start resembling some ageless creature after a long while, due to the healing effects of the other biomods?

This actually important for me to get a hard answer on for an upcoming game, so any input is appreciated.

>>53009041

If you have to rely on pre-made adventures to spell everything out for you, and can't work off plot hooks based on fluff, maybe you need to get a different hobby.

Also, why the fuck should PS cater to you, lone gunman, this is the sort of stuff people are clamoring for all the time they want to know what basic common shit even is in this setting so they can better interact with it. You know, what that "RP" stands for in RPG?
>>
>>53009326

The ratio would not be clear. You'll have to just make that up.

But both Flats and Splicers can take the "Aged" trait, meaning they can be old enough that they are physically impaired. Obviously, with both biomods and rejuvenation this probably takes a long time but age eventually catches up without a relseeve.

Other models of morph haven't been around long enough for people to really get "old" in them on the same level as anything else - but mechanically they don't get the aged trait (though via lifepath, if you're really old you can have reduced aptitude on the Ego). IIRC, the fluff says that the current generation of Exalt+ quality morphs should be functionally immortal - old age will never hit them, but none of them have actually existed that long to be certain.
