Is there a complete list of PCs of James Jacobs that become Pathfinder NPCs?

Are they all girls?
>>
>>52887915
Literally who?

Obligatory "Have you tried not playing Furfinder?" reply.

>>52887970
Pathfinder designer notorious for playing slutty female PCs like pic related who get turned into the main cast of NPCs in PF.
>>
>>52888068

I don't think Ameiko was particularly slutty. Her original name was an embarrassment tho. The whole Paizo crew needs to work out their relationship with their anima, I don't want to hear more shitty SJW/feminist stuff from them.
>>
>>52888127
What was the problem with her name?
>>
>>52888179

It just didn't sound like a Japanese surname at all. "Kaijitsu" or something like that.
>>
>>52888127
In the original module published in 2007 Ameiko is portrayed by an artisr in the most unflattering way possible. This was intentional since the artist is an avid roleplayer and found it was of very bad taste to introduce a Donut Steel in a published book.
>>
>>52888206

Which artist? Wayne Reynolds?
>>
>>52887915
Fun fact: In the original character sheet for Lilly she is described as being very stacked to the point her breasts were bigger than her head.
>>
>>52888219
Back then Wayne was too expensive to be hired for non cover art. The guy who I am talking did most of the inner book art for Shadowrun second edition coreboom.
>>
>>52888249

I know the pic you're talking about now. I remember it from back in the day.

Donut steels as NPCs I'm ok with... the use in Jade Regent was kind of eh. It wasn't enough about the actual PCs.
>>
>>52888127
She's available for romancing under the romance rules in Jade Regent.
>>
>>52888268

That doesn't make her 'particularly slutty.'
>>
>>52888265
Jade Regent was an insult to the players and the whole APs ethos.
Your PCs are supposed to be the heroes of the story not guest stars on someone else's show.
Also Jade Regent had Shalelu which is is another JJ's Donut Steel which had an arc going through three APs none the less.
>>
>>52888308

When I ran it Shalelu was probably the NPC I enjoyed playing the most, only because the player playing her human step-brother was fucking hilarious. It's less egregious with her than Ameiko, I think, because she's not the 'chosen one' like Ameiko is. She's just an NPC traveling with the party (who, in this case, had familial connections with one of the PCs), donut steel notwithstanding.
>>
>>52888308
There is an easy fix of having the PCs play Ameiko, et al which is even suggested in I think the Player's Guide for the AP.
>>
>>52888342
Yes but she is shoved in as in Rise of the Runelords (you rescue her stepfather from the Graul family), Second Darkness (you fight the green dragon that did kill her mother) and then in Jade Regent (because Ameiko is her BFF).
Although is not as bad as Areelu Vorlesh.
>>
>>52888367

Yeah when I ran it one of the players was playing as her stepfather's son.
>>
>>52888367
>Although is not as bad as Areelu Vorlesh.
Explain? She's a villain to kill and only appear in WotR, I thought?
>>
>>52888378
Shalelu seems to be there as Jabba the Jacobs' ego stroke like Ameiko, Lilly or that abomination in Hell's Rebels.
Now, what I cannot stand is Areelu because she is an actual villain to defeat and Jabba the Jacobs designed her fight to be Necrommancer Games hard to win, as if he was disgustes his fetish fueles character could be slain by others.
>>
>>52888420
>Jabba the Jacobs
he's fat?

>or that abomination in Hell's Rebels.
i stopped following the adventure paths by that time?
>>
>>52888420

In general when a fight is challenging in PF I assume it's random chance rather than a design choice. They're rarely competent mechanically with their own system.
>>
>>52888446
>muh largest playtest in history
>>
>>52888227
Wait, these overly weeb characters are by the people who made the game?
That would explain so much about pathfinder
>>
>>52888431
He is fucking obese. Manboobs and all unless he finally did that liposuction.
Back in the day Areelu was James most played character in a campaign which according to what Sutter told me:
"Could make you threw up and question the sanity of most of the game designers working in here"
Is well known James does have a fetish for demons and gers along with Reynolds because both have a huge ton of sick paraphilias (Satine Phoenix was lured into the hobby by him and she is a very hardcore dominatrix).
Sutter told me that James in character did shit you could only see in sickfuck hentay like parasites. He asked his cubicle to be moved to an area distant to the reunion room because the office's wall are cardboard-like quality and could hear the fatso describing the unsavory things his CE witch was doing to NPCs with all luxury of detail.
>>
>>52888480
Was the magical girl archetype and the awesome sex prestige class not enough?
>>
>>52888520

Pathfinder has a sex-based prestige class?
>>
>>52888520
Those actually were suggestions and ideas from the social escorts hired by the senior staff time to time.
>>
>>52888484
>He is fucking obese. Manboobs and all unless he finally did that liposuction.
His photo is good at not letting it on
http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/James_Jacobs
Although it's from 2014 which might be after lipo.
>>
>>52888528
Something like that is in Inner Seas Intrigue. The book has a few different feature sets that key off of "intimate physical contact" and "sexual attraction".
>>
>>52888538
>social escorts
what like GFE?
>>
>>52888555
I am talking about back in the early 2000s when Paizo ws still working for Wizards, back rhen he was a fat bastard who always replied to any suggestion on working out and doing diet to get somewhat healthy with a "don't need to if I have enough cash for a lipo".
There was a video on youtube from around 2010 or 2012 in which he shown to still have some chub that he did took down. A promo on Rise of the Runelords anniversary ed.
>>
I only opened this thread for the titty.
>>
>>52888579
As in expensive hookers.
Some cosplayers you may see in cons are actually social escorts, some already hired for promoting material and others just showing the goods so some sad sack game designer or editor who does big numbers hire her for some company and a hand job.
When 4th edition came and Paizo started to make cash someone came with the idea of hiring social escorts as a marketing campaign. The ideas was to do something like that asshole Zack's I hit it with my axe youtube series but true to be told they only wanted to hire expensive whores with company's money. The sad thing is that they didn't do much with them in the office except for a handjob as they sperg enough to let the hookers bamboozle them.
>>
>>52888649
>The sad thing is that they didn't do much with them in the office except for a handjob as they sperg enough to let the hookers bamboozle them.
kek, hilarious
>>
>>52887915
>Is there a complete list of PCs of James Jacobs that become Pathfinder NPCs?

I don't think we have a complete list because he doesn't publically announce which ones are his characters.

>Are they all girls?

There's an article back when Paizo did Dragon and Dungeon for WotC where he says he only plays female characters. His character for the Age of Worms character was a female cleric of Erythnul (I think) called Tyralandi Scrimm, who later got changed into a half-demon hooker.
>>
>>52888659
Let me elaborate.
When they hired the hookers instead of explaining the truth (that they wanted to fudge after company service being pwrformed) JJ told them the service was exclusively companionship with promotional performance because he was paranoid Lisa could be recording the phone calls done from the office (and he didn't want ro do the call with his own cell phone because he is married).
So the hookers come, participate in a few game sessions during several weekends because no one had the balls to ask them if they were going to do an extra for a bit more cash.
Finally Reynolds decided to be the one doing the request and two of the hookers basically are lawyers. Huh-oh, we are fucked collective reaction when the escorts start exposing them what would happen to them and the company if they do such request again.
The handjob is something I still doubt that did happen because likely was Reynolds typical make up story.
>>
>>52888484
>James does have a fetish for demons and gers
gers? girls?
>>
>>52888765
Sorry for the typo: for demons and gets*

Actually there was this time his computer hardrive caught malware and wanted to do a format when there was in it some important files without back up in the hard drive.
The reason was thst he had a fuckton of commissioned porn art about demons fucking his characters and other office staff PCs which no one was aware of plus lots of guro hentai porn.
>>
The brothel madam from that D&D module about polymorphing livestock into prostitutes is one of Jacobs' PCs.
>>
>>52888908
the undead succubus?
>>
>>52888966

I think so. Though she was not a full succubus when she was his PC IIRC. She was a succubus-blooded tiefling.
>>
>>52888190
>It just didn't sound like a Japanese surname at all.
Is she actually from Japan

I mean, people make up fake Western-sounding names for PCs all the time

Rogan Balorganon

That's not even a captcha, I just made that up.
>>
>>52888716
Do you know where I can read this or get some kinda of proof?
>>
>>52888908
>that D&D module about polymorphing livestock into prostitutes
This is such a player character idea

>now that I'm high enough level to cast Polymorph Other, time to turn these cows into titty babes and retire
>DM: w-what about the prince and his evil twi-
>TITTY BABES.
>>
>>52888908
Wasn't she a Yuan-Ti iirc? Aren't those straight up monsters?
>>52889362
Fuck it was honestly hilarious
>one of them gets loose and captured by pirates
>they procede to rape the fuck out of the poor polymoprh monster
>during the gang rape, a wizard uses detect magic 'cause he's bored
>decides to dispel whatever is on the chick
>the hydra then fucking slaughters everyone on board
This is something that happened in the backstory of the module to explain why a monster was in some wreckage.
>>
>>52889385
I don't play 5E, but it would be more funny if the hydra had come to believe that it actually was a human prostitute (a la 2E rules) after it reverted to its true form, and THAT was the reason everyone was slaughtered.
>>
>>52889449
This was a module for 3.5, not 5e.
>>
>>52889488
That doesn't do anything to change the intention or nature of my statement.

It would have been funny to have a hydra who thinks it's a human hooker with the intelligence of a hydra.
>>
Jacobs did some heavy duty retcons on Ameiko as well. When she was first introduced as an innkeeper in Rise of the Runelords she was described as a retired adventurer who while still attractive was clearly having her age catch up to her. There was also no hint of her mysterious backstory of mystery from Jade Regent with dead unknown parents and such. When Jacobs started to get the idea to make Ameiko the central character of Jade Regent he de-aged her and gave her a new backstory to make her more attractive, and made a post on the Paizo forum that this version now replaces the original version in the official canon.

So yes, instead of making a new character to fit the role that he was writing for the new AP he loved his own character so much that he made her young and hot retroactively just so he could write in the romance story for her in JR.
>>
>>52889590
Isn't the new version of Ameiko older because her previous timeline implied she became an adventurer at 13 and retired at like 16?

The timeline of events was just off.
>>
>>52888966
>>52889385
There were two, one zombie succubus and one yuan-ti. The succubus was Jacobs' one because it's name was the same as his Age of Worms tiefling cleric, Tyralandi.
>>
Was the petrified elf in HR one of his?
The one you find naked on her knees, mouth open and hands raised as if gripping "swords"?
The one that works out to a 36 point buy, and is a polymorph-redeemed drow turned aquatic elf dince birth, with all the features of both?
The one that's famous in the opera, has no points in bluff, diplomacy or sense motive and is trying to slerp her way to information from more competent Chelaxians?
The one that canonically keeps getting caught and killed horribly, only for her friends to repeatedly raise her?

Seems like his type.
>>
>>52889304
I don't work for those disfunctional assholes anymore but if you look in Youtube for James Jacobs+Paizo you may footage of the game testing sessions they did show to the hookers.
>>
>>52890018
>The one you find naked on her knees, mouth open and hands raised as if gripping "swords"?
I would prefer to see a screencap of this passage.
>>
>>52890018
Yes. She is.
>>
>>52889510
>ywn get the Int 2 hydra succ

Isn't this what bimbo fetishists want?
>>
>>52887915
>>52888068
Wow, and I wondered who was the bad influence on Pathfinder and its players
>>
>>52890018
You forgot that she does have a denonychus pet.
>>
>>52890045
I'm only phone posting but if someone else can post it that would be great.

>>52890331
I bet JJ has a scene somewhere that she gets raped and eaten by it too.
>>
>>52890459
Actually there was a PC mentioned in Ameiki's background which died vored by a huge sneek.
>>
>>52889269
>Is she actually from Japan

Her father was from Minkai, which is Not!Japan.

Her real last name however is Amatatsu.
>>
>>52890524
He didn't get vored. He got poisoned and died.
>>
>>52890331
JJ loves dinosaurs.
>>
>>52891067

It's actually because he made her very quirky, the embodiment of *raises spork.*
>>
Fuck James Jacobs with a rusty spoon. The fact that he "redeemed" a drow and then turned her into an aquatic elf, only to use the ability modifiers of both races, discarding the penalties, is retarded.

Fuck him and fuck his spunky CG characters.

>>52890045
She's not naked and she's holding a schimitar. It's not a euphemism. She was petrified while trying to defend herself
>>52892174
To be fair her story is
>be drow child
>adventurers roll up on your family
>kill you
>druid feels bad so she reincarnates you into a half elf.
The ability modifier thing is because of how reincarnate works, you keep mental stats regardless of where they came from. So a wizard reincarnated into an Orc body is still just as smart as he was before.

It's still cheesy as fuck to do for an NPC.
>>
Everyone who ended up romancing Ameiko was in fact romancing James Jacobs.
>>
>>52892346
It says a lot that anon recalled this passage as stating that she was naked on her knees as if she had just been the centerpiece of a gangbang.
>>
>>52892472

Who cares? Ameiko is a sweetheart and a very nicely-done NPC if your DM has any competency in roleplay.
>>
>>52892346
>It's still cheesy as fuck to do for an NPC.
It's cheesy for a PC. For an NPC it's just "wut. you can write any rules you like"
>>
>>52892790
A PC has no control over what they reincarnate as.
>>
>>52892556
Yep, gonna have a chat with my dm about magical realms if that's the real description. Not that I would be all that surprised by the pervy version but if paizo gave us something reasonable there's no good reason to go back to shit fitting JJ's tastes.

>>
>>52892930
There is canonically a dinosaur trade like a country away. It's not totally inconceivable someone managed to smuggle a few eggs into Cheliax.

People really underestimate how easy and often shit moves around Golarion.
>>
>>52892930
Wait, I misremembered, >>52890331 is right.
>>52890018
>36 point buy
I once straight up rolled a 44 point buy character. He turned into a final boss for another campaign because I needed to get rid of him storywise in the setting.
>>52892963
I'd be more surprised that the thing would listen to me.
>>52892980
Wait, are you serious? Pathfinder is weird.
>>
>>52892574
If your DM has any competency in roleplay they could make ANY NPC "nicely-done" without resorting to making some slutty animu knockoff character. People who defend poorly written inserts like Ameiko are what led to Pathfinder having such a horrendous fanbase, and it's amusing that people like >>52887970
continue to blame furries when it's very clearly the weebs who have infested the system.
>>
>>52893016
Ameiko as written isn't even slutty. She's written as pretty much refusing all suitors, decling questions about romance, and is the hardest NPC to actually get in a relationship with in Jade Regeant.
>>
>>52890018
Wouldn't all petrified people end up naked eventually? It's not like most petrification effects target non-living things.
>>
>>52892997
Another factoid, the main form of transportation in the main city (I forget its name, but it's the one the Pathfinder Society has their main HQ in) is axe beaks, because they don't want to offend the island's large centaur population by riding horses.
>>
>>52892997
>Wait, are you serious? Pathfinder is weird.
Yes there are two. The one I was referencing was in Varisia. Orcs bring Dinosaurs down from the realm of the mamoth lords to trade in Kaer Maga.

Dinosaurs also exist in the Mwangi Expanse which is !Africa, Cheliax has a trading colony there so that's another potential way she could have ended up with an egg.
>>
>>52893066
>>52893088
Huh. I've only played in two Golarion campaigns, and both of them died within the first few sessions. I'm signing up for a Way f the Wicked adapted to 5e campaign. The more you know.
>>
>>52893125
Way of the Wicked doesn't take place in Golarion unless your GM is transplanting it there.

Either way, hope you have fun with it. I heard it's pretty good.
>>
>>52888716
Sounds like they weren't hookers, then.
>>
Paizo are so weird because they're so blatant about their fetish insertions and yet they try to play the "we're totally inclusive and SJW and please buy our stuff".
>>
>>52893152
Does Reign of Winter take place in Golarion?
Because whoever thought the title 'Rasputin Must Die' was good for anything more than a Toon campaign concept deserves to have their desk cleaned out.
>>
>>52893307
>still kept the tit window
>>
>>52893362
Partially.

Reign of Winter starts in Golarion but you enter a portal that takes you to WW1 era russia. Earth is like in the 1910's in Golarion's timeline and THE Baba Yaga from our Earth got into some bullshit and teleported there and decided to set up shop.
>>
>>52893417
>>52893362
Also the Egyptian gods, Cthulhu Mythos, and the Mad Arab all exist in Pathfinde'sr primary campaign setting.
>>
>>52893417
Oh, that's such bullshit.
Who was in charge of writing that dumpster fire.?
>Brandon Hodge first stormed into the world of Pathfinder with his module From Shore to Sea, the first patronage project written for the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting. When not busy writing, Brandon owns a store specializing in gifts and esoterica and a steampunk candy shop.
>Lives in Austin
Of fucking course he does. I love my hometown, but goddamn if it's not hippie hell at times.
>>52893447
Because it's not a kitchen sink if we don't shove everything in, right?
>>
>>52893457
>>52893417

Hate to break it to you, but real world crossovers were a thing in D&D back in the 70s too, and since the Paizo crew idolize that era that's what they went for.

For instance, the sorceress-queen Igglwiv in Greyhawk was really Baba Yaga's daughter Vassilia (I think) who had journeyed from Earth to Oerth at some point.
>>
>>52893457
It sounds stupid but it's actually handled quite well. Reign of Winter and the more "pulpy" adventures tend to be much higher in quality than the traditional fantasy ones.

It's not like this is without precedent. There was a wizard in Spell Jammer that records adventures and shit and sells the tapes to Hollywood as movie pitches.
>>
>>52893478
I'm not arguing it's a bad thing see
>>52893490

>For instance, the sorceress-queen Igglwiv in Greyhawk was really Baba Yaga's daughter Vassilia (I think) who had journeyed from Earth to Oerth at some point.
That is pretty much the lore behind Irrisen/Reign of Winter wholesale.
>>
>>52893478
>>52893490
Alright, I'll lay off of it.
Just by association with everything else, I'm not bent on trusting it, but if you say so.
Besides, nostalgia goggles have ruined better things.
>>
>>52888397
If she's the NPC I'm thinking of, you have to go really far out of your way to trap her soul or something so you can actually kill her, and becomes a demon lord or something if you don't go through those steps.

On the other hand, its kind of like saying you can have a pet monkey or gnome slave because ghey are too similar to people.

As far as dinosaurs, doesnt eberron have a culture of halflings that have dragons? I mean the dragonborn might be angry at keeping them as pets, so ita kind of bullshit.

They're a bunch of uncreative cucks who sold their 3.5 hack as a "seperate" system, claimed to "fix" everything while failing to address the primary flaws in the system, are generally averse to criticism because they don't want people to hurt their pwecious fee-fees, they have no idea what's actually balanced, and they pander to furries and SJW's who would've otherwise had no interest in the game, which also fucked up the greater tabletop community as a whole.

Yep.
Best part of all that is that Drow in Pathfinder are actually meant to be 100% evil to the core, tainted by the Black Fuckrape God of Murderdeathkill himself down to the very anatomy of their soul.
They have an entire adventure path about how all drow everywhere are always cunts with no exceptions.
Except his Waifu, because reasons.
>>
>>52907270
Fair bit, it didn't become blatant, I think, until the first two adventures had gay couples (first one was a lesbian half-orc paladin and her trans partner, second one was a gay black priest and his white partner who had a horrible drug addiction or something). Which isn't necessarily bad, but they were very much shoved in your face.

Let's be clear here, they had the most basic, hard to screw up plot arc imaginable: good versus evil as heroes beat the shit out of a demon invasion. And they managed to fuck it up, you don't even FIGHT a demon until maybe 3/4 of the way through the first adventure. Iomedae in book 5 was probably the biggest offender in terms of story, but that's an argument that's been gone over and over until it's been worn down to the bone.

The biggest problem of Wrath of the Righteous, however, and I still maintain this, is the mythic rules. If you thought the story was bad, you have NO idea how fucked the mechanics are. By book 3 you're basically gods, nothing you face will even mildly bother you if you have more than two brain cells to rub together. By book 4 you can obliterate a CR 30 Succubus Queen (while being something like level 13-14 and 4-5 mythic tiers). By book 5 there is literally nothing in the PF mechanics that can stop you as written, the GM will have to pull out the cheesiest shit imaginable to inconvenience the party.

And that's assuming said GM actually DOESN'T go by the book and give you all the boosts and extra benefits that the adventure says to give.

Paizo has no idea how high-level play works, mythic breaks even the low-level play that they have only the vaguest ideas about, and their refusal to acknowledge how fucked their mythic rules were all the way through playtesting is abhorrent.

And if you had to achieve this by putting one single NPC into one single adventure book in whatever way you wanted (imagine that Jacobs thinks it's hot), how would you do it?

Neo-Wolf/Onyx Path did.
Please don't conflate the post-Achilli White Wolf with the old one. Old White Wolf had a few SJW-flavored writers, but they were few in number, could usually take a joke and got made fun of by the older neckbeardy crew.
Mage 20th is an insult to everyone who's ever played an Old World of Darkness game. Even Aberrant, which was probably the most obviously SJW game that old White Wolf ever released, had a few lines amounting to "yes, there are trans/homo/whatever novas because erupting basically makes you into whoever you want to be, and people are too busy with idolizing literal supers (or frothing at the mouth about how normies idolize them) to care about the particulars".
White Wolf started suffering in 2004, where Justin Achilli took a more central leader role and started gutting departments left and right, resulting in a void of artists, writers and most importantly fans that ended up being filled from Tumblr.

It's always fun to see people like you try to argue that your own generic scowling-white-men-fighting-scowling-white-men fantasy is for some reason the only pure fantasy, can trace its history right back to True Nordic History and has never been affected by the slightest impure or degenerate thought (which you're never able or willing to explain why is so bad).
Modern fantasy grew mostly out of the fusion of the 50's sci-fi fanzine community and the editors of Dragon Magazine, both of which are stuffed to the brim with genuine, no-shit fetish content like giantesses, TG, bondage, shrinking, polymorphing (animate and inanimate), fusion, furshit, mental domination, slaveplay, tentacle sex and God knows what else.
You can choose to create your own hugbox Puritan fantasy if you want to, but please don't revise the history of fantasy. There's no way to get around that fantasy was created by neckbeards with creepy fetish fantasies for neckbeards with creepy fetish fantasies, and if you don't want a part of that, go play neo-roleplaying games with Tumblr.

No, Radiance (the name of the Holy Avenger in question) was lost to the Cultists after the sword's wielder journeyed into the Worldwound to fight a one woman war against the demons.

The weapon the half-orc Paladin sold was just a bog-standard +2 Cold Iron Longsword - a family heirloom and thus holding sentimental value, but nothing as critical as a weapon blessed by the gods.

Honestly, if you sat down and read Irabeth and Anevia's backstories you'll see their less offensive and more "safe." Irabeth is a big-dicked hero of the Crusade purely because the Crusade HAS no heroes, and Anevia was a street rat that saw atrocity after atrocity before finding comfort and succor with someone that kinda knows what it means to be an outcast (as half-orcs are almost universally rape-babies or filthy tribals.)

If you want something to complain about, complain about Paizo adding a SECOND gay couple to the AP in Book 2 (a black man and his drug-addled twink) and making the sole white male human a privileged, entitled asshole who mansplains all the ding-dong time.

Do note that Radiance is just a +1 Cold Iron Longsword unless held by a Paladin, upon which it becomes a unique Holy Avenger that grows more and more powerful as the campaign rolls on. And it's worth noting just how much power the party gains as the campaign rolls on. Most APs end when the PCs are level 16, but Wrath of the Righteous ends at level 20, Mythic 10 - the highest you can possibly go in the system.

Irabeth, Anevia, Hogarth (or whatever his name was), they don't matter. They don't fucking matter. By the end of Book 2 the party (which will likely be a majority of white men) are the Heroes of the Crusade, people worthy of awe and admiration. You want a power fantasy? Try having deities come to you for help, or discovering you're actually the son of Shelyn or the daughter of Erastil. You want to rinse out the bad taste of the first book? Try going into Book 6 as a DEMIGOD and slaughtering Demon Lords, who are literally the abyssal version of Gods.

I absolutely did read that encounter, and it was obviously a sign of the writer's flawed vision for how that "cinematic" encounter should go more than that's how they envision Iomedae should act towards the last, greatest hope of the Crusades. Someone by Book 5 should have oodles of Knowledge (Religion), people by that stage of the adventure should be willing to answer truthly and based on experience (the oft reviled "can anyone be redeemed" question IS answered with "yes", but Iomedae expects you to hesitate before doing it because just flapping your noggin up and down is childish and foolhardy.)

It's making a mountain out of a mole hill that's being controlled by someone who probably knows fully well just how flawed the encounter can be.

Yes, it's canonical, but I've been a part of enough haremshit conversations to know canon is often disputed or even hated by the community.

That's a nice idea.
Start with a framework of letting human male PC shitlords and "born wrong" Tumblrina self-inserts experience the suffering and brutal, organized discrimination practiced everywhere by everyone against the poor minor races for no reason at all, building up a properly Tumblr excuse for why it's racist, sexist, classist and homophobic to have a problem with it.
Then turn it into a full-on ride into /pfg/'s collective magical realms with the rails collapsing behind the train, with polymorphing, outfit changes, "learning" to live with one's new form, seventeen different kinds of mind control or personality change, God knows what.
No one is allowed to complain about the patriarchal human male fighter being forced to become a nymph hooker for the better part of a lifetime, the privileged CG half-elf bard having to go through an alignment change to LE and a race change to drow to see that the drow system is necessary to "pay back" the surface shitlords or the 18 INT shitlord wizard being turned into an INT 5 half-orc barbarian who's twenty grams short of snu-snu, because that's evil and racist no matter how obviously fetishistic it is.
I'd be willing to put in absurdly many hours of work to do something like this if it meant that the /pfg/ could actually make an illustrated adventure book with enough of a veneer of SJW politics to make Tumblr feel obliged to take a walk through a bunch of white male autists' magical realms.

That encounter as written would be more likely to have the characters refuse to help on account of the "great paladin goddess" coming off like an entitled little shit.

It doesn't help her case that she's ONLY a goddess because of Heaven's support, since Aroden bought the farm.
>>
>>52910874
>It doesn't help her case that she's ONLY a goddess because of Heaven's support

She became a goddess before Aroden died, her claim to divinity was the Test of the Starstone and defeating Tar-Baphon, the Whispering Tyrant. That said, I agree she's a very, very boring deity.

>to have the characters refuse to help on account of the "great paladin goddess" coming off like an entitled little shit.

She only comes across as an entitled little shit if the party starts treating her like anything less than a goddess coming down to ask for aid. This doesn't excuse her behavior sure, but I'm saying parties that don't get funny with her won't see the bad.

Personally? I'm more surprised that people don't bitch about what she wants you to do; rescue her Herald, who isn't actually in need of rescuing, because he's embarrassed he got caught in the first place. Meanwhile, a band of nameless adventurers steal the Codex for the party, the single item that is needed to close the Worldwound.
>>
>>52910937
>She became a goddess before Aroden died
It's implied in the Chronicle of the Righteous book that Iomedae, at the time or Aroden's death only a demigod, was able to gain further power because the Empyreal Lords were all lending her their assistance. It's claimed as "heresy" to Iomedaeans and others, but then again, Nocticula trying to escape being a demon lord is also "heresy".

This seems to be a problem with many of the APs. Not the mythic rules per say (though they are a problem) it's more the fact that a number of the APs introduce rules specifically designed for one AP. JR had the romance rules, Wrath had the mythic rules, Kingmaker had the settlement creation rules, etc. The problem is they never seemingly never give any thought as to how a set of rules might be utilized outside of of one specific AP, which is why we end up with broken rule sets that people won't use outside of the designated AP.

But they also get access to the inheritance when you die.
Your wife can have multiple husbands.
And she gets access to the inheritance from each of them, when they die.
Your daughters inherit a portion of the wealth alongside your wives and concubines.
Your sons inherit nothing except maybe a horse and weapon.
In fact, your sons are tasked with a difficult job: they have to become successful, and have daughters to pass their wealth onto.
Which can be difficult when you start with jack shit.
The only instance your sons start to inherit a portion of the wealth, is assuming there is no daughters, and the wives split it up according to give him some.
But then your household is considered empty because it has no daughters, and if you die before having one, your house was clearly cursed by the gods.
Even then, this just assumes the wives and concubines listen to the plans you laid out for after your death and spreading out the wealth you accumulated.
There is also a dowry system. In order to marry a man's daughter, you have to pay him a dowry.
The Church of Saerenrae (LG Goddess) within Qadira has slaves. Its causing a schism within the faith, but technically their alignment has not changed.
They're "redeeming their enemies" and tolerant of slavery. Other than that there is no real reason to believe they are treated any different than Qadiran slaves typically are.

Enjoy. I probably missed some more retarded shit from it though.
>>
>>52912425

The inheritance system is infinitely less retarded when you understand that the mother and daughters will probably love their sons or brothers and gladly give them inheritance, assuming they even need the inheritance as sons are expected to work with their father to become a successful businessman.

That's the big secret nobody wants to talk about; the sons are getting a raw deal but it's not like they're getting shat on.

Also, its canon that women VERY RARELY take more than one husband, being reserved only for the wealthiest of merchant queens.

This relies entirely on the goodwill of the women though. And economics and societal/cultural impetus does not fucking work if it relies on people to NOT abuse the system for their own benefit.

What would you do if I answered yes?
It isn't dead, it just ate up a lot of drama and tension during play. Everyone felt they should be walking on eggshells around the seven-mental-illnesses gender-special Tumblrite, who could have been a nice guy if his political beliefs weren't so martyred, venomous, hypocritically discriminatory, play-impairing and generally hard to deal with in and out of game. Since then, I've met a fuckload of equally venomous Tumblr retards, witnessed firsthand how they fuck up every game they touch, and witnessed exactly how much of an absurd push there is to overrepresent gender-special people and women in roleplaying, as well as how the culture breeds cancerous, circlejerking self-reinforcement and entitlement. I live in Denmark, which has a really bad SJW population and a large overlap between the proportionally very large roleplaying culture and both Swedish and Danish Tumblr culture - I would call myself informed.

>>
>>52913028
The only societies in which those systems tend to work over a long period are certain African and Asian cultures, in which you're either dead or as good as dead (exiled, ostracized, stripped of property, stoned, beaten to death) if you break the unwritten rules for personal gain without actually breaking the letter of the law.
I dare you to name a culture with formalized law and a centralized justice system that's been able to maintain a system relying on goodwill for more than two full generations.
The facts are that humans are either assholes, survivors or dependents. Assholes cheat when they can, and the survivors have to cheat to keep up when the assholes are supported by the law to protect themselves and their dependents. That's why functioning societies have either a strict centralized justice system with paragraphs for everything and no big loopholes or a community justice system with diffuse laws but community beatings when someone breaks the spirit of it without breaking the letter.
Human "decency" and "filial piety" can be upheld by most people, but when even one person can be allowed to get away with it according to the letter of the law, either the community needs to take the law into its own hands or start breaking the law to break even.
Anything else is doing away with filial piety and familial loyalty as some asshole wife, in this case, scams her sons out of their inheritance, marries only dying elderly men and starts amassing huge amounts of money to buy up businesses and wrangle your children into practical slavery.

I would express my sympathy, and offer to buy you a beer/beverage of consolation if we were in a fine drinking establishment.

My current campaign has a number of middle class social justice sympathizers, and a single liberal feminist (by the academic definition) who is keen to remark on issues of the day. So there are some well meaning overtures at keeping speech PC. However, as the other players are mostly new, the table talk is far more rampant with "oh, this is just like X tv show" or "haha, let's make a straightforward innuendo" or "let's break out into a Disney song because you mentioned a lyric".

It's remarkably easy to recover from a non inclusive statement or a forgotten "or she" when the table is just as likely to immediately wander off onto some other ludicrous tangent. Or you can parley it into a Trump impression, my God that man is a fantastic lightning rod for hate. It's never been easier to not have to give a shit in front of activist friends when he commits a new atrocity every day.I highly recommend electing a bigot to high office, though maybe just stop at your Treasury Secretary or something harmless, etc.

>>
>>52912415
True but what I'm getting at is that a good 2/3 to 3/4 of the adventure path sets introduce some form of new rules that are designed to work with that adventure path and are almost always dropped afterwards. Its worse than the splat books of 2E because at least those saw in multiple adventures and homebrews. I have not heard of anyone adopting JR romance rules in other APs or even in their own homebrews, same goes for things like the mythic rules and pretty much every other AP rule set (Kingmaker excluded).

Except I wasn't the one who made the original post, and fundamental human values and emotions are the last little thing keeping your fantasy world from becoming a complete wish-fulfillment fantasy.
If you put something in that exists in our world, it's assumed by literary consensus to be the exact same aside from where it's mentioned - and the reason you usually don't change basic human ways of thinking is that it makes it unintuitive and frustrating for players and GMs to predict and roleplay them, which in the end nips the game in the bud.
If you can't think of a better reply than "b- but I have dragons. I can also have perfect people who never do anything wrong when I want to agree with them", you need to ditch the 3.PF retardation and remember that roleplaying is fundamentally a matter of narrative.
If you can't create compelling characters, an interesting setting and an exciting narrative with your game, it has failed as a roleplaying game and only has a chance to redeem itself as a board or dice game.

The argument about whether or not Qadirans would mistreat the males in their society is functionally retarded.

Legally, males are at a disadvantage within that society in the realm of inheritance.
Full stop.

Whether or not that disadvantage comes into play is an entirely separate question.

Sure, women likely won't fuck their brother or son over if you assume society functions not retardedly, but the capacity to fuck them over is enshrined into law, and you can't really just gloss that over by pointing out cultural mores.

Fuck I ran my own Taldor campaign years ago and it didn't need playing plucky CG heroes.

Instead it had to do with Alkenstar demonstrating the power of their guns en masse by its first wholesale purchase of firearms to Taldor, their ambassador being a shifty political mover who just is trying to make sure Taldor doesn't fall apart from their own decadence, and a proxy war with a Galtan mob led by Eagle Knights.

Never read Jade Regent - did they literally erase her Wrath-corrupted Dad killing her Mom, and declare that no actually she has secret royal parents? I'd assumed they just declared that her family had secretly been the heirs all along; very little backstory change necessary with that.

People constantly bitch about how every country is just one giant stereotype sitting next to another giant trope factory, and yet nobody thinks about the consequences of all these tropes bouncing against each other.

The shitflicks you read maybe did but the fact that you call them Modern Fantasy is fucking hilarious. Let me draw a clear picture for you:
Author starts with Greek/Norse/whatever mythology, reads whatever corpus of classical works, then studies what Lovecraft/Tolkien/Cook/Jordan did right and wrong -> he produces Modern Fantasy.

Author starts with 50's fetishit, faps to some giantess tentacle porn and thinks "I can do better than that, just add transexual furries" -> he produces shitflicks.

I hope you don't need a fucking mapfinder society to understand the difference.
