Definitely an angel. It doesn't really say how strong the angels are though, are we talking a human with wings and the immunities you listed, or the cosmic powerhouses that the Bible describes them as? Also, what counts as causing suffering and harm? Can I smite evil, or must I be a pacifist?

The main downside of becoming an Angel is the bulkiness of the wings.

For the 3 boons, Enhanced Intelligence and a Companion are a guaranteed pick.

Depends on the setting. Generally speaking, it will be from:

1) Humans are the jack of all trades

2) Humans have better technology (steel weapons, plate armor, crossbows, etc.)

3) Humans have ambition, which allows them to grow prosperous and strong when other races would be content with what they have

4) Humans breed faster, and have larger populations

5) Humans are more adaptable and willing to compromise. Orcs, Elves, and Dwarves tend to be a very stubborn lot.

Have you ever tried to organise an army of elves? It's like herding cats. If you're *really good* you'll be able to get a hundred warriors in the same place at the same time fighting on the same side.

Humans in the middle ages live for 50 years if they're lucky and then die anyway, why not go out dying in battle for your family and king? But Elves? Whenever I was able to choose a human, I did that, largely because I'm quite a fan of humanity. But there is a benefit, choosing humans enables me to put a pro-humanity spin on my conquest, making me look better in the eyes of the human peoples.

I made sure that I was very personally powerful, to lead in battle and inspire the troops, as well as to avoid getting assassinated by a band of plucky adventurers.

However, most of my powers are targeted towards subversion and sabotage.

The Pirate Captain and Kraken will ensure that the navies and trade routes will be annihilated for me, thus cutting off supplies for my enemies. Men like the King's Councilor and Cardinall will subvert my enemies from within, thus ensuring a divided enemy when I finally arrive to conquer.

Finally, I chose an opposing Dark Lord as one of my adversaries so that I might make a temporary truce, thus keeping 2/3 of my enemies busy with a second threat for them to deal with.

Orcs spend majority of their time fighting other orcs and it is very rare that any single orc can manage to control group larger than a tribe.
Lizardmen might be swole but they are screwed in any cold regions and a lot of places have at least cold winter. If they expand beyond areas where it's always really warm, they risk a freakishly cold year giving their enemies easy path to victory.
Liches are not a race, Elementals are not a race, who knows about Kitsunes. Angels and Demons play their usual grab-ass about souls.

Humanity survives because they are numerous but still united enough.

I'm not her/him but I've made like 6 cyoas. If I were less of a loser I'd finish the dozen I started on too. I'm just fucking tired with this whole thing. I always add male and female romance options because it just makes sense. Yet most authors don't. Either waifus or husbandos. So now I feel like balancing stuff out by abandoning the waifus. Averting the cataclysm while bleeding both the Alliance and Adversary will be quite a balancing act. But with my diplomacy focus I should be able to set one against the other without too much trouble as my councillors both safeguard me people and look for a solution. Hm, honestly, I think that fits with both theories talked about in my links, but that men tend to value communication less than women. I could look into the societal pressures on each sex in their developmental stages in regards to communication clarity and honesty. It could be pretty interesting, since from what I've seen thus far, women place far more weight on how a person communicates consciously, but there is an odd competetiveness which leads to far less of a respect for truth in words when compared to men.
To put it more clearly, I believe women place more weight in what is said, yet men tend to be more interested in what is meant.
That is why I think tests for the halo effect might be rather skewed, since often I've found that women (being in a generally more active social environment compared to men) tend to think about the impact of what they say just as much, or even moreso than what they actually want to say.
TL;DR I think women are socially smarter, but men are more honest.
I think there was a biological study of the brain that actually backed that up now I think about it, I'm gonna have a look for it but no promises on being able to find it.

It seems to have several choices that are flavourful and in their own way quite powerful but that nobody will pick, ever. Like Outsider. Everything goes to shit around you, have fun, great power. It says that you will always end up on top of it, so I guess if the country you are hiding in falls into anarchy and roving death gangs, you will always end up in the biggest one. Which will then go to shit. The eventual end game will be you sitting on a literal mountain of corpses. You can sense where every other Chaos person is, none of whom want anything to do with you because everything around you goes to shit. So even if you don't want to, you will end up spending the rest of your days alone in some ruins. Have fun. The bonus you gain is Immortal(B), which is convoluted way of saying 'invincible. Oh, and what conscience? Humans are naturally empathetic precisely because we were a tribal species you know. Demonbane is a giant robot with the power to beat up cosmic horrors in a fist fight. Basically, Juggernauts ability isn't being a badass fighter, but making any magic item you can think of. That's why it's tied with Summoner (make living creatures instead of items) as the best - they have no real restrictions and infinite growth potential. Of course, Slayer is better, but everyone else has reason to kill him - he explicitly benefits from killing them, so you can never really trust him - and that knocks him down a bit. Maybe if he can kill the Elder Mage in 29 years, but even then I wouldn't ever trust him unless I was the Juggernaut or the Summoner (either of which can eventually become acausal and leave the universe entirely, which puts a hard, if distant, limit on his ability to come after them).

Mindful of the arguing over waifus earlier in the thread, I wanted to post an example of a good waifu CYOA, so I opted for this one. Searching for a succinct description, I hit on "high dynamic range" as an analogy to high dynamic range photography, wherein different exposures of the same scene are combined to increase the range of the... Wikipedia calls it the "luminosity".. of the photograph. The phrase was chosen to indicate the unusual depth of the characterization in the CYOA.

I feel like the most sensible choice is Tanith, but she desperately wants kids and I'm not ready to be a parent. I'd actually pick Fisher, because I like cuddling, tall girls, muscular girls, big tits, sexually aggressive girls, and altruistic people. I also think her shark tail is cute, and we have similar feelings regarding litterbugs.

Is there an interest in noblebright cyoas about dark themes? Example being manga that have topics like organized crime, underground fighting, delinquency, ninjas, prisons, etc. but are almost silly in how upbeat they are. Serious topics in a bright dress.

The closest cyoa I can think of like that is a noblebright cyoa about dark themes is Pokemon Personified and Royal Revival?

Considering those two cyoas popularity I'd give it a big yes.
