Because, on the surface, the amount of resources and space it takes to raise animals for food is really inefficient for how much food you get. After all, the animal is basically a machine that turns the vegetation it eats into meat, but it also turns that vegetation into a bunch of other shit you can't use.

Crickets and grasshoppers make for pretty good eating on that count. When it comes down to ratio of resources input for meaty output, a cow sits at 1:10 where a cricket sits around 9:10. And it makes sense, for a creature with such a short lifespan and a whole lot of natural predators, efficiency is a survival mechanism. Such efficiency means they can live on lower quality foods as well, eating the castoffs of agricultural waste rather than eating from crops which might otherwise be converted into ethanol or just food.

Had three separate experiences with interesting drow players.

A.) CN Drow Rogue - Was actually cast out because he was the result of a wild orgy between clans thanks to Lolth wanting to shake things up by making 5 principle clans horny for each other one day. Since no one knows whose clan he belongs to, they just threw him to the surface as a baby with a note that told him not to come back until he obtained a lock of Corellon's hair.

B.) CE Drow Wizard - Turns out she's literally trying to fulfill her mother's bucket list from when she was a general leading a warparty against the elven lords of the south. Her mom saw a ton of shit she was curious about but didn't have the time to investigate further

C.) CG Drow Figher - Thanks to some severe brain damage thanks to a run-in with a mindflayer, he thinks he's an ordinary elf who was cursed and is looking for the cure. He's apparently having nightmare visions of Lolth whispering secrets to him, but we don't know if it's real or not.

late reply, but basically switching up the spell list on assassins. Instead of gaining Assassin's spells as a seperate, arcane list, each level in Assassin will advance his Druid spell progression as if he took another level in Druid. On top of that, the Assassin spell list will be added to his own as divine spells of the same level (as well as using WIS instead of INT) as he would have unlocked them normally in the PrC.

For example, if he's a level 10 Druid, and gains a level in Wild Assassin (what we're calling it), he'll cast like an 11th level Druid, and add any spells a first level assassin could learn to the current list.

Still working out where to give a bit of slower Wild Shape progression, since there's more than a few Assassin spells that Druids already get (cat's grace, fox's cunning, spider climb, etc).
