Are there any good systems for being a gang of career criminals?

I'm probably gonna catch shit for this but Gangbusters and Top Secret could both work, especially gangbusters if you're into the whole roaring 20ies/golden age of the mafia thing.

I haven't played either, hollowpoint looked interesting but there were some things that looked a bit iffy. Leverage is fate based I believe so generally reliable. Both are very narrative based.

Its the writers more than the game itself if that makes sense. Its like Catalyst is the laziest when it comes to hiring people to write stuff for it. The core rulebook has you jumping all over it to read one sentence, not to mention how retarded the rigging rules get.

If you don't mind the setting then Shadowrun is good for that.

Blades In The Dark is a pretty good rules light criminal gang game.

One Last Job is an ok one shot game.

Shadowrun is a good game if your group has the right mindset, a mix of Gibson and Tolkeen.

Cyberpunk 2020 if you want shadowrun without the Tolkeen.

A friend told me about a game called Heist, but I know nothing about it other than that it exsists.

Monitoring this, I'm pretty new to tabletop but the idea of creating heists for players to attempt interests me as well.

Slaughterhouse, and really any of the Armored Transport line, would be great heists to plan.

MY vague idea is to do a few smaller heists to get a hang of both DMing and how much challenge and detail I need. Stuff like breaking into a mage's house to steal documents, a bank heist run by goblins or something, maybe an assassination or breakout.

Then I think I'd have one of their previous contractors, a dwarven businessman, burn down their thieves' guild and prompt them to rob his mountainbound casino full of scrying pool security cameras, minotaur bouncers, and minor illusion-made lighting and special effects.

So is it just best to play Shadowrun?
