Life would be boring and desolate without people, and people make life ridiculously complex and silly.

The truth is neutrality is the natural state. In perfect chaos all things exist, including order, and in perfect order there is a place for chaos.

Look up systems theory. In short, it posits that chaos is actually incredibly complex order; the only reason anything is described as chaotic is because the minutiae of the system are too numerous and intertwined to all be measured.

Determinism is fun. Add in from an RP perspective that there's necessarily only evidence for determinism but free will requires that a mind is not fully anchored in the material. It's a fun thing and you don't have to explain any more.

Chaos in the systems theory sense doesn't really jive with the /tg/ concept of Chaos, so I'm using Chaos as entropy and destruction rather than unpredictable determinism, which makes more sense in /tg/. Demons, warhammer, moorcock and appendix N, etc.

In that sense, life is Lawful because life is the displacement of entropy.

It's about organized, complex structures emerging from a disorganized and chaotic medium. Structures that create boundaries to separate themselves from chaos.

Richard Dawkins has the best description of life in Le Epic Atheist Book: A bird is alive because it's distinct from its environment. It defies gravity, keeps itself warmer than its surroundings, and maintains its complex structures against decay and corruption. When it dies it falls to the ground, cools to ambient temperature, and its structures break down, losing their organization and becoming an undifferentiated mass, i.e. Chaos.

So life at its core is Lawful.

Lawful, or at least neutral. True chaos can fry human brains and otherwise do bad things to them. We're built to understand things through a lens of logic and we form our understanding on knowledge of systems and the laws they follow.
Strip that away and we go mad. We can't deal with it. We shriek and claw at our eyes, whether symbolically or literally.

Law and Chaos are both ways to affect your environment. Most life needs to be neutral to survive.

The general struggle for existence of animate beings is not a struggle for raw materials – these, for organisms, are air, water and soil, all abundantly available – nor for energy which exists in plenty in any body in the form of heat, but a struggle for [negative] entropy, which becomes available through the transition of energy from the hot sun to the cold earth.

Death is the natural state of things. All things in the universe tend to go to the point of complete rest and minimal energy.
