Yeah, each realm is functionally infinite, spacewise. So as long as your fluff fits the general feel of that realm, knock yourself out.

Ive posted it before but ok:
During the capture of Slaanesh, exhausted, it made one final attempt to secure it's future by reincarnating it's greatest champion...

Sigvald The Magnificent is reborn in the Mortal Realms, several years aged, and bearing the scars from the time of his death. He quickly recruits followers, raises an army, and begins his search for Slaanesh so that the god may restore his former beauty and power.
Sigvald vows to destroy the pretenders who are attempting to replace the god of excess as one of the great 4 chaos gods.

Since everyone's posting dudes, here's a copy paste of my WIP lore from last thread
Lemme put down the latest WIP lore I got for my dudes. So Hashut demands of his greatest warriors to create a grand new temple in his name, and so the Chaos Dwarf legions venture forward to honor their dark god. One group, ventured forth into the Realm of Life, having heard tale of a hidden kingdom of man in a valley. The only way to access this kingdom was to get past a cursed forest that would doom those who wander it to roam forever. The group kept pushing for centuries, driving them mad, and it also made Hashut impatient and displeased with them. Upon threatening to destroy them, a mutiny took place, and Baar'Tok, the second in command, slew the Daemonsmith in charge, sacrificing his life and using his ashes to forge a horrible gem. This pleased the dark god, and so he commanded the slaughter of all those loyal to the former leader of their warhost, and diamonds made from their ashes. Once the traitors were slain, Hashut then revealed the way out of the cursed forest, to the hidden kingdom in the green valley. The Chaos Dwarfs sacked the city, and burned it, and everyone within it to the ground, forging a great hoard of these awful gems. Where the Kingdom once stood, now a massive Vault-Temple stands. The chaos dwarfs there venturing out and claiming new trinkets and gems for their hoard

Life seems like a suitable place. The city could have grown prosperous from the trading in exotic spices which are only found in that particular region.
The brayherds could be the initial plans of Chaotic scheme to take over the place. What follows the brayherds could be bad weather which leads to a poor harvest and sickness which in turns leads the poor in the city to start food riots.

5 x Reavers (160)
1 x Skycutters (120)
- Lothern Sea Bows

The demigryph knights seem out of place. Sure they're awesome models but there is going to be nothing there to synergize with them. You have a hero for the aelves and a hero for the SCE, but you need something for the knights. I know you are going for a mounted order theme, but I'm not sure this is going to work that well on the table. Maybe drop the demigryphs for something from the other 2 races.

But that's just boring if it's only one army with updates. And then there's the other quarter with death and destruction. Destruction is probably pretty well off, but death is totally lacking of anything recent.
I'm not asking for new models or anything, but I wouldn't mind an updated battletome.

Is there a better way of spending 260 points instead of a Slann if I'm not going to be summoning? The only other really big general option is probably an old blood/scar vet on carnosaur, but I'm not sure if a Slann is generally better than them anyway due to spells.

In what way? Because we have a confirmed Mortarior, Terminators, plague marines and cultists/zombies. The only thing that's missing is a Typhus plastic model (which is still probable) and an equivalent of the exalted sorcerers boxes.
>>
How is this for my first list? I'd use the Zombie special rule to merge them into one big unit and use the necromancer and corpse cart to buff them up.

Allegiance: Death

Leaders
Vampire Lord (140)
- General
- Mount: Flying Horror
- Trait: Death Incarnate
- Artefact: Tomb Blade
Necromancer (120)

Battleline
5 x Blood Knights (260)
20 x Zombies (120)
20 x Zombies (120)

Units
1 x Corpse Cart (80)
10 x Grave Guard (160)
- Great Wight Blade

Can someone help me with a lore question that is bothering me please?

I read all the end times books and the intro fluff for the setting and I don't understand some things.

How did anyone survive the end of the world when it all got swallowed by a warp rift?

How did the core of the planet get out of the warp rift so that Sigmar could be found clinging to it?

Where did the mortal realms come from?

>I read all the end times books

>>
>>52518974

>How did anyone survive the end of the world when it all got swallowed by a warp rift?

99.99% didn't. The only ones that survived are either extremely powerful (Sigmar, Nagash, the Chaos Gods, Gorkamorka) or had someone extremely powerful making a point of protecting them.

>How did the core of the planet get out of the warp rift so that Sigmar could be found clinging to it?

Sigmar is literally a God. He clung onto the big floating door of the planet and used his power to preserve it.

>Where did the mortal realms come from?

They're natural phenomena. With the Winds of Magic going as loco as they did during the end times, they produced their entire own realms.
>>
>>52518974
>How did anyone survive the end of the world when it all got swallowed by a warp rift?
Half the characters are functionally immortal demigods, and half of them clung to chunks of the old world that got sucked into the warp.

>How did the core of the planet get out of the warp rift so that Sigmar could be found clinging to it?
The core of the planet is in the warp, currently located in the realm of celestial magic and encircled in Sigmar's capital city/space station.

>Where did the mortal realms come from?
The mortal realms are 8 planes within the warp devoted to a particular wind of magic and linked by magical gateways to each other..
>>
>>52519053
>Half the characters are functionally immortal demigods, and half of them clung to chunks of the old world that got sucked into the warp.
Actually only gods.

I'm new and a bit retarded, what are the rules when putting a unit together?

Tzaangors for example can take 1 mutant and 2 greatblades for every 5 models, and also a leader, icon bearer and brayhorn for the unit.

Does the icon bearer and brayhorn keep their weapons? Can they be the ones with greatblades? And should you model the weapons along with the banner/horn
Can I choose to give the leader a greatblade or even make it a mutant?

Right. Warp storms are where the warp leaks into reality. Sometimes this results in habitated planets getting sucked into the warp, and sometimes these planets remain habitable. This has always been canon, and literally the first Black Library novels involve traveling to a habitable planet in the warp.

Again the overlap reality creates areas where matter can exist. Warpstorms are in space as in still in reality. The planets are not sucked into the Warp, they are warped by the warp energies from the leak.

If they were sucked into the Warp they would be unmade to their atoms. There are no planets in the Warp.

That's not actually true. They go insane and get possessed like in Event Horizon but the Warp doesn't just poof away all matter instantly.

Lexicanum says 'The Gellar field device emits a field called a Gellar field, essentially creating a bubble of real space around the ship. The weakening, failure, and collapse of a Gellar Field while the ship is traveling through the warp would be completely disastrous. Warp entities would tear the ship apart to reach and consume the souls of the crew.' which supports this interpretation. Of course, this means unshielded humans don't last very long in the warp, but it's not like antimatter.

Like i said, ships and other big matter take a longer time to dissolve.

Take the fate of the Old World as an example. The Realm of Chaos pouring from the Gates was dissolving the planet and everything in it. The planet melted to its core that's when the Chaos Gods ceased the dissolution and flung the core into the cosmos out of boredom.

And there is a 40K and AoS examples, what happens when the walls of reality separating real space and the Warp cease to exist, or when Archaon completes his work in the mortal realms? Reality would sink into the Warp and all life, time, and matter would cease to exist. Leaving only Chaos.

>The physical and spiritual corruption of the races engineered by the Old Slann will ultimately destroy them. Even creatures created by the forces of Chaos are doomed to extinction. For, with Chaos' final triumph, all life will decay into a seething mass of protoplasm in which lost and screaming souls float helplessly, enduring the forms thrust upon them by the uncaring gods of Chaos. But the victory of Chaos, although certain, may be delayed - for Lawful and other non-Chaotic void creatures will strive to protect their own identities and ideals. With the victory of Chaos, they too will be swept back into the voids to rejoin the identities from which they were created as the gateways fell.

>How did anyone survive the end of the world when it all got swallowed by a warp rift?
There are three examples given in the first book on how people reached from the World-That-Was(Warhammer World) to the Mortal Realms:
* Fought their way out of the realm of chaos and found themselves on the Mortal Realms.
* Hid in pocket dimension and then later found a way to the Mortal Realms.
* Mallus, the core of the World-That-Was, is infected with the memories and the hatred the people of the World-That-Was had for Chaos after they destroyed their world. This hatred for chaos was so potent that eventually the memories became real.

>How did the core of the planet get out of the warp rift so that Sigmar could be found clinging to it?

Not explained. Maybe the beforementioned hate shoot it out of Realm of Chaos or maybe it was hit with a similar effect as the Black Hole Catapult that exists in realm life.

>Where did the mortal realms come from?
Not really explained. It's hinted that it might've been made from winds of magic that came off from the World-That-Was, BUT the Realms in the Age of Myth were already described as impossible old, but still covered in the dew of creation. I interpret that as being new for it's type of reality, but already older than most universes in the Warhammer Meta-verse. It doesn't help that the realms had ruins of ancient empires before Sigmar reached them.

Toreador-esque vampire faction when? Really gothic romantic aesthetic knight heraldry. Muh dick
>>
>>52522203
Still it's never directly stated that the Mortal Realms are in the Warp or whetever their point of creation was actually before or after the End Times.
>>
>>52522143
>Zodiac Beast are C'tan expies
That's fucking moronic. If anything, the Zodiac Beasts are just realm-specific versions of Void Whales. Fuckheug magic kaiju, sure. But C'tan equivalents? That's simply retarded. And using it as evidence makes you full retard.

>>52522251
Since already. Soulblight. Nothing says Toreador like the Coven Throne. You aren't particularly well supported, but you do exist.
>>
>>52522330
Thats what im hoping soulblight becomes once they get a tome
>>
>>52522298
Ok I went and checked my book.

The Eight Realms were born from "the maelstrom of a sundered world", so yeah the Mortal Realms have to happen after the End Times.

It also said that the Mortal Realms are set in a place called the firmanent(lower case).
>>
Fluff question: Do nurgle followers grow random tentacles or are they blessed with a specific mutation? Can they choose?
>>
I have grown fond of age of sigmar as a game.

But I am still sad about the setting. Its not as good as the old world.
>>
>>52522348
>once they get a tome
All memes about the fact that's never going to happen aside, what else would they become? That's literally what Vampire Counts were, except with the added chaff of skeletons and ghouls and the like.

And since the Strigoi and ghouls have been plucked aside to make the FEC, I'd suspect all the skellingtons are going to get locked together in a basement somewhere, that basically leaves you with what you've got right now. Anne Rice vampires, bats, bigger bats, batpires, $20 lumps of overpriced resin, and sluts on a medieval party bus.

Skryre actually has a tendency to sell weapons and services to other clans.
>>
>>52522621
Why do all football teams' fans hate each other?
>>
>>52522621
Because all Skaven hate each other. Skaven Backstab each other within the clan. And the clans backstab each other.

But the clans are willing to hire each others services out.

Skaven are treacherous little shits that all want to be top rat.
They'll settle for their Clan being on top if they can't be, though.

The models visual flow is completely fucked up to the point you need to consciously decide what it is you have to focus on. That is not a good model anon.

Just because something is detailed, it doesn't mean it is good. The way it is posed, and how the detail is presented is every bit as important.
>>
>>52522449
It really makes me think that you're a bit of a dongus. This doesn't make any sense for several reasons, chiefly because Jervis Johnson directly said in some interview that the Horned Rat is somewhere between Tzeentch and Nurgle, and this was many years before AoS.
