and the choice mechanic is pretty much a magical active or passive bonus where active is like a fighting upgrade and passive is more like an effect or sneaking or defensive skill

If I remember correctly and if the lore from title pending is true she was intending to eat sir knight later after he saved her from the castle(remember she is also an infiltrator) but never had the opportunity once he did and later she slowly grows affection to him and tries to rationalize it by thinking "I'll eat him later or save him for last" and once the affection has grown even more she realizes she has something for him

Easy, Mimic Princess tries to gnaw on Ser Knight as he princess carries her down the tower and fails as he's encased in armour. A knight must maintain constant vigilance while guarding a princess so he's always armoured and she's constantly foiled. Meanwhile his attempts to reassure a princess who's so obviously traumatised by her captivity and definitely not really bad at pretending to be a human eventually wins her over.

A pretty standard "impregnate princesses for vast amounts of gold and soldiers" build. Also managed to pick up alien technology, magical schools and guns making the kingdom pretty OP.

Ended up using the Love Dart on the Cultist Courtier and turning him into a girl with the Rooster Bell which seemed a fair trade for no longer being able to go to the shadow realm and will make him/her both more loyal and much more cute when grovelling.

Huh. I'm guessing it still takes a slot to bring to and from other towers given it's still technically a dowry so it'd only amount to 1 extra slot.

I'd probably add Zombie Princess from 2 and worship losing a power but getting rid of disease.

In 2.5 I'd add the Troll and worship, losing another power but no longer having to pay the troll toll. Largely because the regen will be handy with a bitey zombie shuffling around.

In 3 I'd add Mouse Princess.

I'm guessing in 4 I'd get an additional 2 as presumably I can keep the genderflipped cultist with me on the way. Unfortunately there's not a tonne of things I really want in 4. Also not totally sure which of the loot items are one use or what they refer to in some cases. Like Time Turner has "save an extra item by sending it forward to when you get home" but I don't know whether that's referring to the loot items, dowries, lust bonus items or any of the above.

Definitely taking the Babysitter Courtier at any rate. Once you go gob you just can't stob.

I always thought it would be neat to have another CYOA where you "gear up" before adventuring, choosing your armor type, build your weapon, pick skills and spells, etc. by spending points. I've seen ones in the CYOA threads that pretty much already do it, so it wouldn't have to break any new ground to come together.

The problem is the art assets it would require. While I can draw (and sometimes do for these threads), my attention span is quite lacking, and drawing a series of varied helmets instead of big princess booty gets old veeeeery quickly.

My spring break's coming to a close, so updates will most likely be slower over the next several weeks. As for all the blank spaces still on the chart, I have a short list of characters that would fill them in to make up an ideally completed chart. I won't make any promises on if it will reach that state or how long it will take if indeed it shall be. In the meantime, I'll continue to flesh out the cards currently on the chart and maybe touch up on the sprites and text here and there.

I still really don't like the idea of having a knight chart. The entire point is that you're some average Joe human knight and you grow and shape yourself into a cool dude wiith strange powers. Having a chart that starts you off like that just takes away from the buildup. Now, if it were a class thing with branching paths and the same starting point, that's another story entirely. Regardless of which has more going for it, I think the new one is objectively more fitting as a Princess. It might be possible to redraw the older design to better mesh her with the rest of the charts, but as is the old design stands out far too much.

I think I get what you're trying to say. Yes, we have Princesses like Kobold, Dragon, Insect, and the like who have a number of rather monstrous features. Despite this, they all share just enough anthropomorphic features that make them at least outwardly relatable to one another (save for Book Princess). Externally, Squid Princess does not share this likeness with the other Princesses, which causes her to stand out in such a way that can potentially work against her.

I understand that her original appeal was to be very alien physically and psychologically, and I believe this can still be done with a design closer to that of the other Princesses by emphasizing those inhuman properties on her card more than her appearance.

I vote no. Babysitter Courtier looks fine as is, and her sprite fits the art style. That orc not only doesn't fit with the style, but is far too plain looking. Plus, tumblr nose is an instant failure.

Only Kitchen Courtier needs an updae. She's the only character that isn't facing the right direction. We don't need to replace any of them.

Like >>52497076 said, the courtier is supposed to be a goblin, a race that is arguably more likely to assume the role of a babysitter than an orc, so having her depicted more like one would help to maintain what's already on the card and make feasible sense with what's been established for the setting.

Physiologically, perhaps, but their cultures are pretty different. Based on the cards on the first chart, orcs are essentially barbarian tribes, and goblins have empires based around slave trade and prolific breeding.

Honestly I think it should be a little less inhuman, you've gone pretty far into horror side of things and it needs to be cuter. Maybe center the beak a little more and shorten it a touch. Also that on big eyehole on the left is a bit awakward. And maybe if you had it be a half mask and showed her mouth under the beak that might help...
