>Some kind of heroes are lunkheads like me
>Who only do things that they're told.
>And some kind of heroes are out for the glory,
>They're heroes on purpose, and cold.
>Some become heroes for bravery, sure,
>And some just because all is lost.
>But a few are the heroes like Molly and Jed,
>Who give without counting the cost.
So, what kind of hero is your character, /tg/?

He likes to do good things. They feel good and natural to do.
Flaying jerks alive also feels a natural thing to do.
>>52416401
Sounds like an imperial inquisitor or something along those lines
One of hard held moral integrity, dubious methodology, unsure goals and short attention span.
>>52416505
Literally me
>>52416281
She seeks to always do the Right Thing and have no deeds she is ashamed of.
... she's also kinda like Conan, so her 'right thing' doesn't necessarily match more civilized people's. But that's their problem.
Definitely out for the glory, on purpose, and bold.
>>52416281
Hmmmm....so far, no Molly nor Jed itt....heroes are hard to find...
My heroics tend toward this, sadly: https://youtu.be/a7mK79i0tF8

Sam Jones was the best song on that album, followed by Guardians, Some Kind of Hero and Dawson's Christian, in that particular order.
>>52416914
Can't possibly agree. Ballad of a Spaceman > Iron Mistress >Dawson's Christian
>>52417040
I'm not sure we're talking about the same album, mate.

No love for Good Ship Manatee?

>>52416914
Sam Jones was the most intense one, but it was downright depressing at times. Guardians gave me the feels in a good way. The two last verses give me shivers. Some Kind of Hero is my favorite of the sadder songs. It actually had me crying at Molly's death.
Dawson's Christian is the one I first heared and it has a special place in my heart. I guess they went for an alternation between intense feels and funny playful songs on the album.

Love the exotic space vegetables
this reminds me of a song i from tg... i cant remember its name, but it was a bout a singing spaceship that had a human brain. anyone know what im talking about?

I lovew this album album.
>>52416914
>>52417075
>nobody mentions Bomber ever
>>52417255
Bomber is probably the worst song on that album, to be quite honest.
>>52417274
Why say that?
>>52417306
Because everything else was better.
>>52417306
It's not a bad song, it's just that every other song on the album was better. That, and it clashes with the rest of the album style-wise.
>>52417274
>muh, i don't like what you like so what you like sucks...
Jesus Christ...this is a HERO thread: do try, at least.

Bomber is a good song but it's performance could be better. I really wanna do a classic Hard Rock cover of the song with vocals an octave higher and some drive from the rythm section.

We're the Taiwanese tapdancing board you fags, get it together.

Currently? Telekinet is a hero on purpose and cold. He waited for the president to be attacked so he could save him.
Then, he all but blackmailed a general in front of the media to meet with the president and get a government backed super team formed.
>>52419205
>>52416281
I always heard it as, "Heroes on purpose, and bold." I mean doesn't that fit the hero who does it for glory?
Of all the humorous ones this one is my favorite, from the pulp waifu angle:

top taste. I don't think I can really find fault with this list even if I wanted to.

There are two of them, both called Helva's Song, both based on Anne McCaffrey's The Ship Who Sang. There's a more sad one by Ann Harlan Prather, on Space Heroes & Other Fools, and a more lighthearted one by Cecilia Eng on Freefall and Other Delights.

I mean, aye, it's perfect if you've got nothing to leave behind. It's just a decision some would have you take on a whim.
You want to make sure you're with a good crew at the very least.

Yeah, it's a growler Heavy Metal song in a Filk line up; Everything else has an air of whimsy to it, but Bomber is just brutal...

People who are heroes on purpose are no heroes......they are cold, and do the heroics not for others, but for themselves.
>tfw filk is not a thing anymore despite Folk being a mainstream genre again
A-at least Rosie Hood has a fantasy bard feel to her
Any decent fantasy filk/folk/whatever? A quick search has not found anything worthwhile on youtube.
>>52423693
Literally just look up some old Child Ballads. Theres a ton of them
The decemberists have made some modern folk based in fantasy too. Like related

Sci-fi a shit. Fantasy filk is where it's at. Especially parodies of extremely shitty plots.

Which was it though?
Sergei, the father of Russian rocketry, a man said to be an equal to Van Braun himself, his life's work cut short by his past in the gulag?
Komarov, the first man to die in space?
Or Gagarin, the first man in space, his chance to go again cruelly robbed from him?
It could be any of them. Perhaps all of them.
Yakk is a lunkhead like him. He wants to be good, so he tries his best to mimic his paladin father figute.
Here's a good few that often get missed, some top tier choices in the thread already

She's honestly not sure why she's doing what she's doing, only that nobody else is and the king is making a big deal of it. So it must be important, right?
