It was a players D20 Conan Gladiator class. He turned out to be quite the evil, but reasonable bastard. Eventually he sold his soul to a demon from the OtherWorld to have great powers for the incoming demon invasion.

I guess the only real above and beyond thing I did was for my first ever proper RPG, Shadowrun, I bought a bunch of dice from a small Canadian company. Why? Because they were the only lots of integer D6s I could find. Cost me a bunch, but that's more of a personal thing than for the group.
