Most girls in gundam are taken, prostitutes, dead, or some combination of the three.

Does that count?

Which Doujin?
>>

Some mind control one. I forget the name. It opened with a bitchy supervisor i think?

"woo" might be the wrong word.

Tonya & Enil (Both seperate and simultaneously) in Gundam X (Via Mobile Jump Gundam)

Nobody piqued my interest in AGE

Juri Wu Nien and Lacus Clyne (Seperately) in SEED

Lady Une and Relena in Wing (Seperate, then Simultaneously)

Sumeragi in 00

Rinko in Build Fighters

I turned UC into 00 by going through the Laplace's Victory scenario and re-creating Celestial Being, so the place and cast really wasn't recognizable.

And if we ever get an IBO jump, I've got my sights on Lafter Frankland.

So, when/if Samurai Jack is updated, how will it handle the new season? Will there be a continuity/time extension drawback, or are there plans for another jump entirely?
>>
is there a good way to get time to go by even faster in SCP-2400? Like putting the door on the outside into a bubble that decelerates time?

Also: Is there a good perk/ability/ect to design an ecosystem inside of SCP-2400? It would be really useful to have a place to grow supplies.
>>
>>52265991
Just make your own.
Then you can be certain they nest or whatever.
>>
>>52265991
shit, accelerate time. Not decelerate
>>
>>52265991
Clock of Ages from Narnia
>>
>>52265991
Literally, there are dozens of magic systems which allow for custom spells that can put SCP-2400 to shame. There's also Anartist, which could probably allow you to make something with a larger time compression ratio.
>>
>>52265985
So far, IMO, it doesn't seem like there's enough stuff to warrant a whole new jump. Especially since the whole 50 year time skip can be solved with jumper intervention.

So depending on what else happens I may add some more items and abilities.
>>
For wizard jumpers, what did you choose for Master of the Arcane in Skyrim?
>>
>>52266056
However if someone wants to make a jump set during season 5 I wouldn't be opposed to it.
>>

No. It's unfortunate, but she already has a husbando.
>>

>>52266072
conjuration since I used it a lot in game
>>
>>52265991
Stick it in a hyperbolic time chamber, and while inside open up an instant dungeon with as high a time multiplier as you can use.
>>
>>52265985
How much later in time is the new season?
Is there a time skip, or does it fit in the ten year window?

>>52265991
>Like putting the door on the outside into a bubble that decelerates time?
That is one way to do it. Another is to speed up time in an area within the SCP. Like build a structure inside, and enchant it or several rooms inside with Haste from D&D so with the door closed, twice as fast relative to the rest of the plane translates to 280 time as fast as the setting world.

>Is there a good perk/ability/ect to design an ecosystem inside of SCP-2400?
There are many many ways. If you have the tech skills make recycling Bio domes. A little magic really lets oyu cheat here.

Or just choose SCP-2400 as your Dimension with Dimension Lord from DC Occult, and magic up a living world by thinking about it. (The green from the same jump could also do a lot of this.)
>>
>>52266072
None. I prefer not to purchase skills up-front. However, if I did, it would be either Mysticism or Alteration.
>>
>>52265908
The ability to force people into games.
>>
>>52266136
>Or just choose SCP-2400 as your Dimension with Dimension Lord from DC Occult

wait, you can choose that? I didn't think that it would count, for some reason
>>
>>52266072
Alteration, because choosing something other than Alteration or Conjuration is objectively wrong and there are perks specifically for Conjuration in the Morroblivion jump.
>>
>>52266103
Well, no. Summon works by trapping your victims souls/essence and resurrection would negate that.
>>
...Is remiu a good waifu?
>>
>>52266103
That is a fan wank thing. Do you think you are literally summoning them, bringing them back to life (only to kill them again when dismissed) or are you just using their death to make a summoning template your magic takes advantage of. I assume the latter.
Especially since I have been assuming it works on stuff like Killer Robots and stuff.
>>
>>52266161
It reads like a really large (possibly infinite on some of the axis since the survey team could not find an end) pocket dimension.
>>
>>52266136
The time skip is fifty years in the future.
>>
>>52266186
Not him but shit, that ruins my plans to have someone fight themselves.
>>
>>52266186
Can you use the souls for other things then, if you have something that can interact with souls?

>>52265991
Skip the middle man and make yourself a hyperbolic time pocket dimension with D&D magic.
Genesis is a very strong for this since planar traits can get really stupid. If you have the patience to set it up right first you can get results of years inside to seconds outside. It's full Narnia mode.

Of course actually casting genesis repeatedly to get it at a usable size is tedious and draining. However Simalcrums or Spellclocks can do all the busy work for you and save you the trouble.

Wat.
>>
>>52266438
Greetings!
>>
>>52266272
Why not? Because otherwise, it sounds like a massive trap option for anyone who takes something dealing with souls and kills someone, either on purpose or on accident.
>>
>>52266398
>that last part
...what.
>>
>>52266445
Humans who achieve powers inevitably become some kind of youkai. It's how it works. Reimu brutally enforces her view that this can't be allowed to happen, and so kills all humans who achieve it. Most of the formerly human youkai that are around achieved that status before Reimu was the shrine maiden.
>>
>>52266484
What about Marisa? Isn't that what she did, and aren't they friends?
>>
>>52266484
Huh. Okay then.

Secondary canon and or lots of bitchslaps? I want a shrine maiden type companion and she's the only one that comes to mind.

1486855697367.jpg
63KB, 500x375px
>>52266196
Depends on what you're looking for. This is kind of a hard question to answer. What made you consider?

The rabbit is infinitely superior, however.
>>52266445
Ssssort of. Recent events in the Touhou manga showed a man who had exploited a loophole to change himself into a youkai. He then said he planned to fuck off to the mountains and live in peace, and Reimu straight up murdered him. Reason being a human changing into a youkai and upsetting the status quo in any way was effectively a sin in Gensokyo.

I've given up on trying to rationalize morality in Gensokyo at this point, so judge this one for yourself. Its dependent on really fucked up metaphysics, anyhow.

I don't feel like I'm in a position to judge considering I throw celestial objects around like beachballs and use magic on random bystanders to sate my boredom, so I can't really comment.
>>52266484
Magicians aren't youkai per se. Marisa herself is human. Currently. She's hinted a few times she'd make a jump for immortality if given the chance, I think.
>>
>>52266484
So is this canon or fanon?
>>
>>52266318
Huh. Yeah, it looks like he can use the souls as sources of power and summon with them.
So you should be able to Hellsing a soul and still have it summoned.
>>
>>52266280
No, but I'm only on Jump 20 and my goal is to take over the multiverse, so it's going to happen eventually.
>>
>>52266445
>>52266461
Reimu kills the shit out of a man who became a youkai and just wanted to live his life afterwards. Sure the way he did it was dickish, but it was hardly necessary.
Trying to change the balance of gensokyo by working to improve yourself as a human inevitably ends up making them youkai. If Reimu didn't put people that tried down then Gensokyo would collapse under the weight of everyone doing it. If humans aren't around to do their thing then it doesn't function and everyone dies.

>>52266502
They are. For now. Marisa hasn't gone through with the being a magician(species) thing yet. This is probably one of the reasons why.

>>52266512
Try Pocky and Rocky. Sayo is actually nice.
Alternatively secondary canon away the parts of Gensokyo that suck or don't make sense. That's what a lot of people do for a reason. It's like they built the world out of jenga blocks.

>>52266537
Official Manga canon.
>>
>>52265402
Will there be an origin for being a god, or will that be accomplished through some other means?
>>
>>52266280
Yes. Talked down the heroes before they could fight me, however.
>>
>>52266561
That sounds a lot more understandable then how anon first put it, with her personally despising them. Sounds more like a particularly hideous but ultimately necessary duty for the good of the majority.

>>52266330
>Killer7 jump
Oh boy. Well, at least I'll get the chance to stop some of the more stupid events. Seriously, why the fuck would you fire 200 missiles at Japan just to distance the relationship?
>>
>>52266535
When she achieves it, Reimu will try to kill her. Not sure if Marisa could survive, they're roughly equal most of the time but if Reimu calls upon the true power of the Hakurei Shrine's god, then she gets supreme anti-youkai magic that would make her unbeatable.
>>
>>52266550
Notably, there's no once-per-day limit, either.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX1aFjLsWxY

Just ignore the music.
>>
>>52266535
Reimu is getting a taste of her own medicine post-spark, regardless. Execution.
>>
>>52266576
You could put it like that, but she was being a total edgelord about it.
I highly highly recommend using secondary canon to make the whole youkai piffing in a puff of logic thing go away so that such measures are no longer necessary.
Or change how believe/disbelief works because it's really fucking dumb.
Maybe both.
>>
>>52266600
Only the villagers are prohibited from becoming youkai. Since Marisa lives in the forest, nothing would happen to her even if she did become a youkai magician.

Also, stop fanwanking.
>>
>>52266576
It doesn't have to be enforced as viciously as she does. The human population didn't all flip to youkai before she got her position. She just leans on murder because making exceptions, giving warnings, and generally being fair would require effort on her part instead of spite.
>>
>>52266637
I find it hard to believe that it'd suddenly be okay for a human to run off to another part of Gensokyo and transform into a youkai when it's a hard and fast rule otherwise.

>>
>>52266852
You do realize youkai and kami need humans to live? And that those humans are all actually pretty badass and are the descendants of Youkai Hunters chose to become a part of Gensokyo?

I don't get what the hate behind Reimu is all about, but seriously, she's got a job she needs to do, and it's already gotten her cut off from the rest of humanity. There's also the fact that she introduced the Spell Card system to further level the playing field between the residents and various youkai and kami.
>>
>>52266852
You uh don't realize what you're getting in to do you.
It's not that there's something wrong with Gensokyo that makes things have to be this way theres something even more wrong with Youkai that makes it necessary. Making a new plane wouldn't do anything, but push the problem somewhere else. You'll have to edit the way Youkai or The very world itself works to make any headway. The current system exists for a reason, it works and thanks to spell cards people don't even die all that often anymore.

>>52266876
Her life is integral to maintaining the barrier. If she dies Gensokyo collapses in on itself and bad things happen to everyone inside. You'd need to stabilize things first and that's still an edgy as fuck thing to try. It's not like she actually likes doing her job you know and she's a pretty decent person aside from the sheer zeal she has against humans becoming youkai.
>>
>>52266975
Nah. It's not that great. I just dislike idiots with keyboards. Either form your own opinion or let other people have their fun. Ideally both.

>>52267030
She's not a blood knight when fighting normally. She just takes preventative measures against accidental genocide seriously.
Although since Reimu is so young there's no heir yet. Who would be her replacement in the first place?
>>
>>52267062
She's a blood knight in dealing with humans who reasonably want to escape their shitty miserable life in Gensokyo and the misery inherent in being a mortal being doomed to die.

I'm pretty sure it's easy to find humans who make better shrine maidens than lazy asshole Reimu.
>>
>>52267041
Not really. There's plenty of scrub Youkai out there, we just don't see much of them since they're scrubs.
Now if a big player showed up then the average person would be pretty much screwed, but to say it's completely lopsided isn't quite true.

You do realize that humans in Gensokyo are there by choice correct?
I don't think it would be permitted if everyone decided to leave, but there is a gate at the Hakurei shrine that leads to the outside world. Outside of being severely out of touch with the world it's still an out.
>>
>>52267117
You know some of them are planetary scale reality warpers? And they definitely don't all deserve it.
>>
>>52267140
It's by the foolish actions of their ancestors that they're stuck there. They have no idea what the outside world is like even if they know of the gate, and would probably die horribly quickly. This world isn't friendly to people without paperwork. Hardly much of a choice.

Well they're apparently preying on humanity, so they're either getting turned into people or they're getting shoved into the Wall of the Faith where I keep the FR gods. If they'd honestly rather that than be human, that's fine.

That would be a helluva bandaid. You'd be hard pressed to find Youkai that would want that to happen to them, but it would technically solve the existential crisis.
I'd give that plan a 2/10. You tried.

The real solution is to Stars and Stones the shit out of every Youkai ever so that fear/belief/expectations no longer govern their existance. Then there's no need for any of this nonsense.

Dresden Files perk.

>The Outsiders don't just refuse to play the rules, they break them, permanently. You've inherited this ability of theirs, and now you're able to let those around you slip the bonds of otherwise-inviolate supernatural laws. I'm not just talking magical contracts or compulsions, either - you can allow a creature to go against its fundamental nature. A vampire could be free of its hunger, a fairy could lie, and a Foo Dog could betray its family with your help. Only two restrictions - you can't remove a vulnerability, and you can't use this ability on yourself. You especially can't use it to eliminate said restrictions, so nice try.
>>
>>52267213
They can bring it to about 1% minimum, the strong ones tend to drop 5-10% while the rest shave off anywhere from 3-4%
Usually enough to make using basic powers like Complete Therianthrophy regularly viable, but for consideration to be made using things like Burst Break or Avatar of Thunder.

>>52267244
>Do you think you can beat biblical YHWH without iron chariots?
Why wouldn't someone be able to? There are several passages in the Bible that show YVVH to be fallible, iron chariots just one of them. That alone is enough to show he's not omnipotent. There's also the part where his entire canon is just one big character statement, sent from him to humans, who then edited it. It'd be perfectly in-character if any claims of "omnipotence" were just him boasting.
>>
>>52267171
Look, if you really wanna save those humans, find a way to reintroduce the idea/concept of magic to the rest of the world and bring down the Hakurei Barrier. Then slowly reintroduce those humans to modern society.

Also, it's interesting that you said that considering the Industrial push that's been happening on the Mountain with the Fusion Reactor and the technologies slowly filtering into the Village.

>>52267203
Read above.

>>52267211
Simply put? To preserve "Mystery and Magic".

Things that are slowly dying in the world outside of Gensokyo.

You need to remember that the Japanese more or less live alongside their myths and legends, so to some, a world that does not have a youkai in an unseen crack or a kami watching over a tree that's had generations of a family's children playing in it is a colder, less alive world.

There isnt' really anyone in setting who can. Not upfront with biggatons. 2hu has hella hax so maybe. Maybe. There's a lot of No limits bullshit going around there. I'd imagine they'd gang up on you rather quickly and dealing with every conceptual thing ever trying to fuck you is unlikely to be pleasant, but if you've minmaxed then you aren't guaranteed to lose.

However if you're just going to wave your jumper dick into things and bulldoze over it then it doesn't really matter what the people in the setting think. However I'd rate your plan a 5 on the bancho scale of dick maneuvers.

A big part of it is because you are overwriting who they are with something else with no consent. You could argue that it's better, but being a Youkai is mental as it is physical. It's a little more than changing skin suits.
You'd also run into issues with new Youkai showing up over time or people snapping back into being Youkai from being too magical.
That and nature would be all fucked since no more gods lol.
It would be a helluva mess. I certainly wouldn't call it a good idea. Good intentions, but it wouldn't go well.

I generally don't? I've found that trying to change the world to my whims is...okay, it's not HARD but it's too much effort. I don't have any ambitions of empire or some kind of concept I'm wholeheartedly devoted to. I just like to mess around and enjoy cheap thrills.

I almost never intervene in a big way unless I'm personally attached to some of the locals, and I tend to spoil them a bit...though not before messing with them a little. Extending the space of a hallway for several miles as a 'test of character', cursing them to wear only clothes with bright polka dots for a day, things like that.

This hands-off approach became very pronounced after I took a certain Infernals charm. If I REALLY wanted to, I could turn the entire world upside down, and build it back up in my image.

But that's boring. I'd rather do magical experiments and play video games all day. Trying to fix all the world's problems is busywork. Busywork, I say!

That said, I am not above causing massive amounts of collateral damage and destruction for fun. Destroying the moon is practically a jump's hazing ritual for me.

>Destroying the moon is practically a jump's hazing ritual for me.
What did Sokka's first girlfriend ever do to you.

>>
>>52267571
No, because the problem isn't the lack of magic, it's the changed humans. What you need to fix is the human tendency to forget, not the fact that magic doesn't exist. Even if you reintroduce magic, all you would do is skew the human perception to magic, which wouldn't do anything for the relationship between humans and youkai. There are youkai who live in the outside world just as there are humans in the outside world that believe youkais exist, but those have reached their own state of metastability. That's what Touhou is ultimately about, a state of quasi-metastability within an isolated system. If you break that by trying to introduce a new element into the mix, the results aren't as simple as "magic increase, youkai increase" because the relationship isn't linear.
>>
>>52267561
The outside world is empty of all of that and is just fine though.
>>
>>52267561
I'll edit their souls as well and put guardians in place (via Demon Spawn or what it's called from Hero BBS) to keep the system running smooth, people from changing back into monsters, and nature from getting fucked up. Or better yet, just make it run off of standard physics or some different magical laws.

Why does he need to fix it, though? What do human-eating monsters add to the world that needs to be preserved?
>>
>>52267419
If I make any changes, it's usually to try and fix the problems the main cast can't. For example, I fixed the world in Nechronica and Evangelion, allowing life to return properly. I also tend to start the ball rolling tech wise in settings where I'm confident it will be handled maturely for the most part, leaving fail safes in case they aren't. I think the biggest change I ever made was in 1984, where I smashed the three states and started the long, painful process of getting everyone back into the proper mental state. Did not help that because of the power I had and how used to obedience they all were, they all started worshipping me as a god. I had to work hard there, because not only was the world devastated by war and the damage the three states had caused to the environment, the people themselves were broken for the most part.

Sadly not before Jumper tried to solve the problem with a mind dive to try and fix her insanity in a moment of naivety that went....poorly.

Then in FEAR I took the drawback wherthe dark parts of your psyche are manisfesting in the real world and you have to deal with them. Which brought the residual psychic imprint left in jumper of her back for a more horrific rematch.

Whether Rinnosuke is right or talking out his ass changes the mechanics of belief massively and we'll never know for sure because that's just not important to the story.

Well I'm not saying that he wasn't a fucktard about Oolacile, I'm just saying let the cycle end naturally as opposed to the unnatural attempts to end it early or prolong it that the serpents are up too. And doing that means making people stop self-immolating in the magic world fire.

Yes, his goal of either eliminating the Youkai, or destroying the barrier. The characters in manga canon are far easier to reason with than in game, and the manga hasn't made any explicit references to the Wasteland world outside either, so there's no real reason to presume that just bringing down the barrier will kill people through disease and famine. Because two of the manga are slice of life and one is mystery, the manga literally presents anon with opportunities to destabilize the system, it's happened nearly ten times now.

People like to bring up Reimu slaughtering the ascended human Youkai, except they don't seem to realize that he was a complete idiot that was basically too stupid to live anyways. The guy makes bancho look like Einstein.

Suzunaan overlaps well with Ibarakasen because they use minimal connections. Sangetsusei doesn't really need to overlap at all, but even then it works well as a partial prequel to Ibarakasen and Suzunaan. To call the manga trio the only canon is a shaky argument, but it definitely holds its own as long as you don't try to reconcile it with 98 or 2nd gen canon too much.

Very first jump.
I appear in a new world holding a very short letter. I'm slightly disoriented and wearing some kind of sweater vest. It's night time, and I'm standing under a street light in front of an apartment building. There's two keys in my pocket, one with a dongle (numbered). It opens the appropriately numbered door in aforementioned building. I walk through my new four-room living space, in the dead of night. Bathroom, kitchen, living room, bedroom. Bedroom closet.
Bedroom closet. I slide the door open and am greeted with meters of coiled chitin and hundreds of twitching dark yellow legs as long as my fore-arm with dark tips, like needle-sharp pencil. And even longer bright red mandibles sitting at eye height on top of the coils of thick insect body. All of it crammed into a medium-sized closet.
I might have screamed something like "Jesus fucking shit NOPE" as I ran out of the room, tripped over the coffee table in the living room, and collided at high velocity with the front door. I woke up several hours later, cautiously confirmed that I had not been eaten in my sleep, and the closet was now empty.
Later, I found out that centipede was my downstairs neighbor, and classmate. We ended up getting married.
I picked up a fear immunity perk in the very next jump.
>>
>>52268295
As I said, /most/ of the interesting abilities come from genetic engineering, ritualized technological modification, etc. There are very little "natural" abilities, with the exception of a few types of being. And most of the beings that weren't modified are so powerful that you probably don't need them anyway. However, if you're willing to use it, Summoning from NGNL could likely get past that restriction. Hell, you could probably acquire most technology in DW that way, if you meet the right kind of people.
>>
>>52268327
I don't k ow what's more concerning. That you married a giant fucking centipede or that you married someone who was breaking into your house and hiding in your closet.
>>
>>52268349
You can always just beat the Doctor up. It's not a fiat restriction, it's the Doctor slapping your hand away like a child whenever you try to take some tech. So long as you don't put up with his shit (and have the perks to counter his insane plot armor), you can take whatever you want. Yeah, sure, "modified the universal translator circuit to keep you from learning alien science", whatever. That's still not fiat, that's something someone in-jump did, you can get around that.

Just something to consider.
>>
>>52268327
Is that you, Oomukadetomokoanon?
>>
>>52268385
I have considered it. Strengthening the spell doesn't change the maximum Gnosis it affects. Anima magic already has rules for overcharging them or using metamagic. You'd need to reverse-engineer the spell and make a new one that didn't have that limitation. It's like how no amount of technology perks will let you use a wrench to unbolt a bolt bigger than the wrench head can fit, it's just not something the wrench is designed for. You'd need to make a new one.
>>
>>52268376
Yeah, but there /is/ a fiat clause saying he'll always be smarter/cleverer than you; and DW tech is pretty fucking bullshit, so he could likely counter even a few OOC abilities. Also, I don't think there's a tech perk, and DW tech relies on some wackadoodle physics as well.
>>
>>52268408
Nope, there's just the benefactor saying he's more clever than you. No fiat there. Fair point on the tech relying on all sorts of stuff that shouldn't exist in other universes, though. Honestly, I just want to fuck with the Doctor's smug little brain. You're not clever, Doctor, you're just an asshole.

He'll, even discounting time travel TARDIS's are silly advanced. Remember that episode where a scavenger was in the TARDIS and tried to have his conputer value one room? It came back as "incalculable" " More valuable than the total sum of any currency". Which becomes more i pressure when you do sider the general level of advancement in the Doctor Who universe, and just how many species and economies there must be.
>>
>>52269329
That makes no sense. Why would anyone have a computer made to value things that can possibly have a reading of "nah brah, not enough money". Either it has a value based on the materials and labour to construct it or it's value is subjective based on what the owner would be willing to sell it for/buyers would be willing to pay for it.

Going "It costs more then any amount of money" only makes sense if the machine doing that reading somehow had the absolute value of all things in currency and could read them out but that's so fucking stupid on so many levels.
>>
>>52269358
Doctor Who is not known for making sense.
>>
>>52269358
The thing being scanned apparently gave a readout of "Sensor detects everything you could possibly want." "Living metal. Bespoke engineering. Whatever machine you require, this system will build it."

So an argument could be made that computer was valuing every possible machine that could ever be made, plus the value of the tech that was constructing it.

But essentially >>52269370
>>
>>52269391
Even then that's not 'beyond the limits of currency', it's just a fuck hueg number.

God damn that rustled me.
>>
>>52269358
remember all money that the computer was aware of is still a finite amount of money, the value of what >>52269391 said can be greater than that.
>>
>>52269398
That's even more stupid Bancho. Who would make a computer that values things but only works within a certain amount of currency? It'd be totally useless for the inevitable event that something would be worth more then that defined amount.

For example- ignoring that it'd massively depreciate in value, it's not hard to work out what all the gold in the Earth's mantle would be worth using the current gold prices. It's certainly far more then all money on earth put together but it isn't incalculable. Only an utter retard would make a worth measuring computer, based on currency, that is limited to just how much currency is in circulation.
>>
>>52269418
Every computer has a max limit on how far it can calculate, it could just be that the value of the TARDIS is enough to make it reach an error range
>>
>>52269418
it's a flaw of economics, not a flaw of the computer. If something's value is greater than the sum of all money you can't value it in money! this is just common sense. and There is also the possibility that the computer has finite capacity and encountered a buffer Overrun error in the calculation Since the amount of money involved was too great, finite computing can only use so many digits.
>>
>>52269427
But an error message is different from what the other anons have told us it responded with. I can accept an error message fine. It outright saying "This is more valuable then any currency" is not an error message. Even just going 'This costs infinite dollars" is better.

>>52269429
Refer back to the first post. You can always value things in money, whether based on how it was made (And countless other factors) or how big the likely prices people would pay for it are. Machines do not measure based on sentiment.

This is also the fucking future where computers that can figure out the monetary value(Or apparent surpassing of such) of things they have no prior experience with.
>>
>>52269397
If the computer was programmed to calculate currency in terms of scarcity (even on a universal scale, there's still entropy to consider) and you had it scan a TARDIS (which via Block Transfer Computation and similar tech can make entropy its little bitch), then the computer is going to throw some kind of wobbly.

Another possibility that can't be discounted (hah) is that the TARDIS made the scanning computer say exactly whatever was needed to obtain the outcome the TARDIS wanted. It's as dangerous and mischievous as the Doctor is, after all.
>>
>>52269454
Now that second one I can totally believe. The ship is almost as much a character as the Doctor in some stories.
>>
>>52269397
Actually... COULD it be infinite?

Prices are driven by demand moreso than the cost of production, and demand is driven by the utility gained from the good.... If the machine gave "everything you could ever want" then that's infinite utility - nothing could ever be worth more to you. This, essentially, gives an inelastic demand curve - you're going to buy it now matter the cost (ignoring any budget constraint).

Which means that you can sell it for any price, and the only limiting factor is the value of the money that can be paid for it - if the economy had more money, you could charge a higher price. Which you could argue is the same thing as "more valuable than all money".

Not trying to argue here, by the way, just exploring the idea.
>>
>>52268534
Is that what evil Jumpers daily life looks like?
>>
>>52269465
I find that line of thinking has some really silly applications if you extend it beyond Tardises. I can do an absolute shitload of things with a hammer and some nails. With some creativity and man hours, you can make a house look much nicer and thus much pricier (Recently put in a decking area myself for a few hundred dollars, mostly the wood and some misc stuff, and some work, house leaped in value by thousands and thousands), yet they're still not selling those hammer/nails for a couple hundred dollars to me.

I'd actually be interested if anyone could give me some links to this episode/the scavenger device used, since I'm really finding that the most confusing thing and possibly insanely impressive thing of all. The only ways I, and seemingly everyone else, can see it getting a result of 'incalculable' without it being an error message was either A- Tardis told it to or B- it somehow managed to fully scan the motherfucking Tardis and figure out everything or at least a lot of things it could do.
>>
>>52269505
I don't think that analogy holds up. There's a big difference between a hammer and nails being sold as a good and a hammer and nails being bundled in as a service where the real item of value is the time and expertise. More importantly neither you nor the store selling you nails get to determine the prices.

If you were the only person in the world who could increase the value of houses by, say, three thousand dollars - no one else in the world could possibly do that - then people would be willing to pay way more. Obviously, ypu could set the price at the max they're theortically willing to pay for it. Who else are they going to go to?

If you were selling a TARDIS, and the buyers thought they were getting there money's worth at any price (because it contains, quote literally "everything you could ever want") then the max price you could set for this unique item is by the same logic "any price".

The episode in question is 'Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS'.
>>
>>52269584
Eh, couple problems there I guess. I don't believe there is only one Tardis left in existence at all, so whilst they're absurdly rare, on a uni/multiversal scale you're not the only guy with one on offer. Second, like with the hammer/nail thing, just having something doesn't mean you can use it. Even ignoring the fact that the Tardis can likely just not open for anyone it doesn't like and pretending it's 'only' a machine, it's still a horribly complex machine where you'd likely have no idea how to properly work any of the hyper advanced devices or mechanisms within.

It'd be like giving someone a phone that they could use to call God, because you say it can, but not telling them the number. Supposedly it has this amazing ability but realistically the buyer is never going to figure out how to work it. It might have infinite utility but it's also utility that most things would never be able to use and the few that could tend to not be the sort that use currency. Or they're dead.
>>
So for the updated skyrim jump, it says you can take a canon character as a companion if you convince them to join you, does that include the dragonborn if you don't choose to become them?
>>
>>52269624
At that point in the series, there WAS only one TARDIS left. And all this valuation talk is made off of the assumption that it CAN be used and it CAN give you "everything you want". Which is what the computer said, and the end goal was to work out what the hell the computer was thinking.
>>
>>52269624
As a side note to all this, I think it's really cool that this little escapism fantasy thing we've got going on was a springboard to a semi-serious discussion of the economics of one scene in Doctor Who.

This has been a fun talk.
>>
>>52269645
Oh, true, I think I just got caught up in sidetracked parts.

If it's about "What was the computer thinking" your bit about it basing it on possible utility seems like the best answer. I still don't agree with the answer itself and think the machine is impossibly stupidly designed as well as being impossibly good at it's job, but what you said seems to take care of the problems of explaining why it gave the answer it did.

>>52269672
Oh, totally. Just my bad on getting sidetracked.
>>
>>52269676
Psshh. I'm the last person who can complain about getting side tracked.
>>
>>52269676
Also, I'm more or less in complete agreement with you about how the machine is simultaneously too dumb and too good at its job.
>>
Did Stranger Things MK Ultra ever get clarified? The percentage, the powers involved, etc.
>>
>>52269700
>simultaneously too dumb and too good at its job

... heh. Heh heh. Given that AI is a thing in the Dr Who setting, anyone want to bet the computer was pissed at its owner, wanted him dead and told him what he wanted to hear rather than "you should probably run"?
>>
>>52266280
I prefer being the bonus boss, its fun and has a blessing of its own

Like that Rhames movie Undisputed, the protags are the champs in their canon but you might remind them that its a big multiverse out there so that they don't get complacent
>>

it is my understanding that that is a frequent difficulty one encounters When programming computers especially AI.

Shitty settings are saved. Peaceful settings are destroyed.

The Jumper is an element of change, and is in their nature to interfiere with the settings. Such is the way of the Jumper.

Reminder that the Touhou jump is poorly done, with a stupid mechanic that incentivizes backloading and taking only the most expensive perks, that doesn't represent the setting well and reads like a blatant powergrab.

>>52270368
Daily reminder that it will literally never get updated or replaced as long as the current community exists, so even mentioning it is bait.

>hey neat, Skyrim update!

...mistakes may have been made.

Hypothetically speaking, what is the most likely reaction by Azura to a Nerevarine who went on to become the Last Dragonborn?
>>
>>52267652
Who knows? Generally, unless something is said otherwise, people tend to assume that the manga is canon with regard to jumps. This tends to stem from the fact that, when there's both and anime and a manga, the manga typically comes first, and is generally perceived as "better."

I'm sad there's no Dub of the North Star drawback, however.
>>
>>52270421
Did you have fun in Akavir?
Since that's where the Nevarine goes after morrowind.
>>
>>52270368
Go to SB then, they'll have their own Touhou jump
>>
>>52270368
There are also people who argue their hearts out that the fanon drawback means you're not allowed to do the "make a jump based on a spinoff property" workaround.
>>
>>52270513
I don't think them being assblasted about fanon drawback is going to stop SB from making the jump

>fun
>FUN

I went there to leave behind the insane god-kings and violently clingy Daedra that infected me with magical disease and fucking Vivec.

I ended up in a civil war between tiger-dragons and vampire snake people! This is the opposite of fun!

After the initial running and hiding, I bumped into an orphan monkey child and his family who offered a place to stay the night in their village. I felt sorry for them, so I promptly started handing out high frequency blades and enchanted exoskeletons like party favours.

We then raided their damn wizard towers with terrorist zandatsu sprees, culminating with Elodie blasting a big chunk of the snake empire into the ocean. At that point I was just cranky and furious at everything. So when that asshole tiger-dragon strode up to argue about territory or whatever I just decked him in the face, and told him Azura's champion was watching over the monkey people from now on. Also, bring me a goddamn cocktail you furry fuck.

After some confusion over who Azura WAS, they promptly fucked off back to their corner of the island and never came back.

I eventually taught the monkey people how to make cocktails, but they were pretty crappy ones. Couldn't even stay mad at them. It was just a total buzzkill.

It was an awful holiday

A desert dimension with oasis. Well, I seem to be somewhat plotbound, not to mention a fair number of people seem to want me whether I'm willing or not. Honestly, they aren't that much of a threat to me, but if it seems likely that they will make attempts on beings less able to defend themselves then they will likely join my dark binding collective. My main goal for this jump will be to get Tsukune Aono to accept his harem. He shouldn't hurt them by rejecting them when they are willing to share. Moron. Success!

Ok, I'm basically some sort of Satyr or Faun. I guess I'm a bit of a cool kid. I've fireproofed a good deal of my gear which is cool. I suppose I should put a stop to Naraku's scheme for my starting location. For my local dimension I'll go with fjords. You know, I think I'll hunt down Naraku and kill him. That will probably scuttle a great deal of the plot, especially if I eat his soul. Beyond that, I think I'll just wander Japan and see what I can see. I'll just be a guy on vacation.
