I watched a few games of pauper, and it seemed so much fun. They got to play with super cool cards like Gush and Ponder, control seemed viable, nearly every deck ran interaction.

There are some very fast decks in it, so decks need to have early interaction if the consistently want to survive. Tron usually relies on sweepers for this. Pyroclasm and whatnot, but generally tron has a bad matchup against the faster decks. It needs to have the turn 3 wurmcoil/karn, or a sweeper, or both.

He's killed by every removal spell in every version of Gx Tron (Collective Brutality/Fatal Push, Bolt/Pyronclasm, Path), Oblivion Stone gets under him, and Ulamog can exile him.

He can stop planeswalkers fine, but that's only half of Tron's threat package and they have plenty of ways of removing him. I'm not saying he's terrible against tron but I'd expect him to maybe buy you a turn at most.

The deck I run is pretty fast. I use kudoltha rebirth to shit out three tokens on turn one, kick them with bushwhacker or goblin chieftain on turn two, drop other big dudes (piledriver or rabble master) on turn three, etc. I also run SSG and other red ramp cards to speed up the two and three drops. It's hit and miss, but fun.

I'm glad we're at least seeing some steady price drops and not just tiny dips followed by giant spikes. If Star of David Games forgot about the format, then maybe it might really become what it was promised to be. But that will never happen.
