He can zap someone with his eye beams and teleport them. We don't quite know more details than that other than guy we saw him do it to (the alien in the 2nd episode who yelled at him for stealing his planet's water) went to some place called the Pit of Despair, or somesuch.

He's also capable of going substantially larger than just "large", given that he once spread himself out to cover the entirety of what looked to be a massive graveyard. Don't quite know how big it was, but a square kilometer doesn't seem like it'd be far off.

Also, all of his robots are filled with pieces of himself and he has thousands of the fuckers, so he would appear to have functionally limitless mass to work with.

So for those of you who have seen the new episode care to bandy about some theories. I just watched it and I'm pretty hyped. I'll go into spoilers for the sake of those who haven't seen from this point onward.

First things first I think it's pretty obvious they are setting up the only daughter who got solo screen time for a face heel turn. Calling it now, it's gonna happen once she realizes Jack is actually the good guy.

Green antlered horse dude is interesting. Have to wonder what that is. If it represents jacks fear of himself, or perhaps some tangible enemy.

Also have to wonder how long it will take to get the sword back. I reckon half of the season at least. Nice big quest, ultimately only completed with the help of Aku's daughter who turns.

I also wonder if we'll see the Scotsman.

That's but to name a few abilities. Aku is a high utility villian, versatile at cost of HP, and not easily beaten henceforth. We also have his flung into the future crap, which he came up with on the fly.

So Anyway, Aku is a LE or CE Shapechanger Outsider, boasting impressive defenses and a wide range of abilities, with only a few weaknesses, namely to divinity, infact, his features are Strikingly similar to Tharizduun's herald pre-fission/seprature from his larger body.

As for where Samurai jack is based, possibly in one of the Outer Planes where the gods don't particularly have sway, but seeing as Greate Deities got involved, it's certainly closer than that of the Vestigal realm, wherever the evil mask of the betrayer ending went after becoming Elder Evil, and places like ghostwalk and the like.

My guess for them killing it, is either they did it for sport, or because it was making it's way to the local more important cosmology.

I've only seen parts of the series because I'm a lazy shit, but I get the impression that time portals are actually fairly common with Aku. Like, whenever a society acts as a serious speed bump to his conquests he flings it into the future. I imagine that's why there are still pockets of resistance at all--they are constantly popping into reality, one after another.

Jack doesn't witness this ability in the parts I watched because, as the greatest threat of all, he appears dead last, when Aku is going after whole other galaxies.

It's a nice artsy episode. I don't think there's any actual dialogue in it.

A pretty solid episode that doesn't focus on Jack.

But for the most part, pretty much all of the episodes are good. With the tone of the show running from light-hearted and childish, all the way to the artistic and very dramatic, which is why it was such a hit originally since it had something for pretty much everyone.

A lot of those episodes that don't otherwise fit into the continuity of the story in any significant way, includes some of of the best ones.

He's obviously above mortals, even highly skilled one's. However, he get his ass handed to him by what amounts to deities, and elementals. So a low-tier god, or demon lord.
D&D wise could see Aku's home being in the Abyss.

Jack's sword can cut through Aku pretty well. Jack usually gets pretty close to killing Aku when they fight but Aku fucks off before a final blow can get struck. One god tier slash doesn't mean anything if a single piece of Aku remains

He doesn't need a power up to kill Aku, his sword is forged by the gods from the righteousness of the human soul, and Aku is a sliver of a cosmic evil that was formed by Jack's father when he tried to rid his land of it's growing infection.

Basically Aku was shaped by what Jack's dad thought the ultimate bad guy is like, a kabuki actor hamming it up.

Also it cannot harm the pure of heart.

Still a very good episode.

Frankly, there are only a handful of episodes that aren't that great. I can think of the baby episode and the random monster that follows Jack around fucking everything up, off hand.

iirc the sword is capable of cutting through anything but the true of heart, you just have to bring enough force to bear to do it. The robots' armor was tough enough that Jack couldn't manage it on his own, he got a technological aid first and then the help of his ancestors for the last swing.

Maybe he could talk some sense into Jack, depending on what the "dc" was. He's pretty convincing. Or he dies while trying to talk to him. The second is probably more likely.

Would Smite's work on Aku you think? I mean it is Divine Magic. Put out enough radiant damage and it might do the job. Not really, but it would be my best chance.

That sword can cut through anything with enough power behind it, and this guy's from a space future setting and is built for power. He can tear frying pans in half with his bare hands and flip cars if sufficiently enraged.

Not the wisest or most dexterous, but there you go.

Really, really invested in fighting the good fight, genuinely believes in trying to make the world a better place with his deeds. I feel the sword would like him or at least understand where he's coming from.

Probably runs around with guns and other such fun equipment, pulling the sword out whenever he encounters things he can't shoot to death or are otherwise deemed "magical bullshit" which the "magical sword" must be employed to deal with. He's built for grappling things into oblivion, so I feel at least to start with his technique would be to try to get a grab on anything that's too fast for him to hit with the sword with the free hand and then go to town. Probably take a lot of flesh wounds from horrible thousand arm monstrosities because he doesn't have Jack's genji deflection powers, but that's what armor is for. Being a big boy means you can wear some pretty thick stuff.

I feel like radiant damage would be effective against Aku since he is evil and he's weak to greater dieties. I'd imagine it would require more smites than spell slots available to take him down since he constantly regenerates.

His armor will enable him to effectively tank any guns punished Jack can bring to bear, and then it just becomes a question of if he can get a hand on the guy. Jack specializes in being good with all weapons but can be outmastered, and this guy's about as good as it gets at technical hand to hand, so I can see one of two things happening.

From there hostilities will stop either way, discussions are had, the sword likely jogs Jack's memory, and Jack gets back on track. there may be a fight over who gets the sword, but Jack back on the path of righteousness will likely succeed in defeating him and grant him mercy. My character then becomes a supporting character. Having wielded the sword for some time until meeting Jack he will likely have established himself as a threat to Aku, and as such his plan would be to strike out on his own to plow a path of destruction and liberty through Aku's lands in an attempt to draw attention away from Jack or at very least to force him to split his forces.

I could see getting a few brief background cameos from there, and maybe participating directly in one more episode.

If I'm lucky, he'll show up in the season finale to help Jack out in his final race for the portal. Might die in the process, but that's what I get for overspecializing him in power and otherwise making him the Jorge archetype.

True. Very true. But how many blows does it take? I mean when we watch Jacks first fight he only actually slashes him a few times, and each time Aku gets smaller and weaker. Assuming a smite is not as effective as the sword, which it couldn't be, it would still cause damage lasting enough to persist throughout the fight I think based on what I remember of that first fight scene.

The first fight with Aku, he wasn't as strong as in the future. I think Aku's strength might be proportional to how much evil he's caused.

The Beginning Aku, you'd probably able to smite him to death

Aku in the Future, he seems to be able to take more punishment from Jack and is usually fast enough to flee/escape before a final blow is struck. Licks his wounds and goes back to his shenanigans in like two days.

I'd bet my left testicle any of the DnD deities would be jumping at the chance to reach a bunch of planes over and punch some impudent little primordial darkness fragment in the dick by overvolting their Paladin's Smite in his hour of need, after he's valiantly exhausted all his other means of trying to defeat Aku.

They'd be laughing their asses off at getting to eat the other gods' lunch, and probably establish for themselves a pretty damn strong following in that realm when it becomes clear that it was their divine power that was instrumental in defeating the Kabuki Mask of Eternal Irritation.

Sure, the plot reason is because that would be too easy. It's likely handwaved as those gods have other problems, or they want the mortals of this realm to prove they're tough shit and capable of fending for themselves every now and then.

DnD deities are a whole different ball game, though. Would you not take the chance to reach through some warp fuckery portal one of your paladins fell through and slurp up an entire new plane the there existing gods got lax about maintaining?

Begin sacrifices to the true Gods of Chaos, intending to transform the blade into a daemon weapon imbued with the strength of Chaos Undivided. He'd have a hard time matching Jack in close combat, but he's quite durable and has a gun. Assuming Chaos magic and his fanatical belief in its righteousness allowed him to use the sword, he'd still have a hard time keeping up with Aku's shapeshifting and flight. Power armor doesn't allow for fancy acrobatics. He'd probably try to summon his brethren and a legion of daemons to face down Aku, and also as meatshields.
