Jumpers!

Do you ever wear clothing/armor radically out of the norm for the setting? Classic armor in a modern setting? A hoodie or tactical armor in medieval setting?
>>
>>52019361
Yes, all the time. But I usually wear glamours over it.
>>
>>52019361
Outerwear, I tend to conform.

But my underwear tends to be modern regardless.

That's what I love about magic: you can change your outfit at a moment's notice. Although I do tend to wear a set of armor with a hooded coat and a mask when I'm in a more heroic mood. Or the mood to fuck with people. Or really anytime I want.

Breath Of The Wild, should be called Breath Of The Fetish.
>>
>>52019361
If I ever bother with pretending to be human, I just shapeshift some clothes-looking parts. The trick come from if they need to be removed, but that's not often.
>>
>>52019543
Was that actually in the game?
>>
Bodacious [Free/100+] - Something you will notice right away is that everyone here, even though who are supernatural monsters look...pretty. Handsome, beautiful, badass, sexy, whatever - nobody here is plain to look at. And neither are you, now! You can pass off as the most attractive person in your entire class, and turn a few heads when you walk down the hall. You can also choose to...ahem, emphasize certain assets of your choosing to look especially bodacious. This can be bought multiple times, though mind that people might stare or gawk a little too much after a certain point.

Mana [Free] - It would be a little troublesome if you didn’t have the potential to use this world’s magic. So, that’s what you can do now. You have an innate ability to tap into and use your personal mana. Unfortunately, this doesn’t come with lessons on how to do it, so that’s on you.

Magic System [100+/Free*] - Unless you already do, of course! You may choose a system of magic that helps you actually utilize mana. In short, it provides you a mental map of reality and a way to create spells based on that map. After making your intent with the spell, you calculate the mathematics behind it using said system, and then charge it with mana. This can create everything from teleportation, elemental attacks, and even turning the magic of your foes against them if you’re a good enough wiz at math. Every Faction except Independent and every Race except human receives a magical system for free.

Hi guess what I started on today.

Yes. Its a mission to infiltrate Gerudo town. Only females are allowed. The guards are hot amazonian Gerudo.
>>
>>52019543
Those Gerudos, man. If we get a Breath of the Wild jump, we need a Gerudo waifu companion option.
>>

>>
>>52019637
Oh, yeah, it could be that. I figured he wasn't going to work on that for a while given it was number four on his list, but if he is working on it right now, cool. There's a lot of cool stuff you could have for options there. Sacred Gears are the obvious stuff, but also lots of cool crafting, leadership, and mystical perks. Like, maybe something based off of the Sword of Betrayer that lets you combined demonic and holy energies safely. Or something based off of Sirzech's ability to get people to take him seriously even when he's dressing up in a sentai costume and singing about the Magnificent Tits Dragon. Or maybe crafting magical talismans that upgrade people, like the Evil Pieces. Lots of room for neat perks.

Yeah, Link's kind of a manlet in Breath of the Wild. He's never been the tallest guy, but he's distinctly short in this game.

Current game plan:
Factions: Heaven, Hell, Grigori, Khaos, Independent
Backgrounds: Drop-In, Ordinary Student, Neophyte, Noble
Races: Human, Angel, Fallen Angel, Demon, Youkai. Slight overlap with factions.

Sacred Gears, I'm taking a page from previous jumps and making a customizer + a handful of OC options.

Also, apparently this turned into a race, so I'm doing as much as I can right about now.
>>
>>52019737
Not sure how you're making a customise table given how most sacred gears don't have a huge amount of stuff. You sure you're not forcing one in here?
>>
>>52019737
Brillig, Heavens. That's a good framework for it. And a Sacred Gear customizer sounds pretty cool. Sounds like it's going to be a good jump. I look forward to seeing your work.
>>
>>52019361
Typically I wear what's comfortable, but nothing too outlandish for the setting. Although I prioritize comfort over what's appropriate for the setting. If I wear pants over skirts, so be it.

Well, there's room for stuff like Sub-Species and Balance Breakers, that offers room for multiple effects and customization. Also, has anyone noticed that all the upgrades for Sacred Gears are alliterative? Sub-Species, Balance Breaker, Cardinal Crimson, Breakdown the Beast, Diabolos Dragon...

I just want to say that I think that poster stopped being funny a long time ago, and that it's moved on to being annoying and just a little bit stalkerish.
>>
>>52019737
>Sacred Gear Customization
How would that even work? Please don't make it so that you're basically getting a Gear that's doing what would ordinarily be spread over multiple different gears.
>>
>>52019812
So what, one option that's basically a super mode to what you have already? Seems a bit of a stretch to make an entire customization table here. It'd be better to just describe existing ones and make up OC ones to take, not force tables into every jump just because they can.
>>

Anyways, I need to resume having a stroke over the keyboard.
>>
>>52019841
Well, Balance Breaker often has entirely new powers, not just a super mode, and it's often used consistently. But yeah, I see what you mean. I'd like to see what Heavens is going for, though, it could be workable. In the end, though, if I'm being honest I really just want Boosted Gear. It's so cool. Divine Dividing would also be acceptable. Magic dragon power armor is just the superior form of Sacred Gears.
>>
>>52019863
Depends on which hulk, a few of them likely top out below Herc, but in most cases I would think that what would happen is that a city block would be destroyed and Hulk would win.
>>
>>52019779
That fucking schnozz though.
>>
>>52019863
Depends on how hard you're willing to wank the "mundane weapons can't hurt Servants" thing. I'd hardly call the fists of a being of incarnate rage "mundane", but some people would argue that Hulk wouldn't be able to hurt Berserker at all, which would just make him angrier, and cause a feedback cycle where he eventually punches hard enough to kill everything everywhere, finally taking Berserker out by killing his summoner and every other human.

Well, if the thing is meant to be on the level of a Longinus, then it having multiple abilities isn't inappropriate. Like, Canis Lykaeon has sword-creation, shadow manipulation, wolf summoning, and dimensional cutting powers. So I guess the real question is "where on the spectrum of Sacred Gears is it supposed to lie?"

Bodacious Babes Race.
>>
>>52020086
So the really strong ones are being offered either for free or as the basic purchase. Great.
>>
>>52020112
Be honest with me: Do you really see anyone buying anything other than a Longinus, if they were available? You might as well just make that the only option for a Sacred Gear, and price it accordingly compared to other things in the jump.
>>
>>52019737
Eh, I'd jump it.
>>
>>52020146
Aren't Jumps meant to reflect the setting rather then just what people are going to buy? Yes, Longinus should cost more to get because they are not something every Tom, Dick and Harry gets.
>>
>>52020164
Nowadays if you put in mundane options you offend the group of people who scream about optimal options and trap options.
>>
>>52020164
Oh, sure, cost lots to get. No argument there. Powerful things should cost comparably to the overall power level of the jump. But hell, offering only Longinus-class Sacred Gears IS reflecting the setting. When was the last time we saw someone with a normal Sacred Gear who was relevant to the plot? I want to say Jeanne, maybe? Everyone else either has a genuine Longinus or "if it weren't for the fact that we're dead set on having thirteen Longinuses because of that being an important symbolic number, we'd add this one to the list".
>>
Hero of Hell in Infernals. Do the physical boosts from winning scale with you? Will it still be noticeable when you can throw planets around?
>>
>>52020220
Anon, a jump isn't just meant to reflect the endgame or current part of a series. It's meant to cover the whole thing.

I'm going to say straight-up that while I'm not going to automatically exclude Dragons and Longinus from the jump, I am doing them dead last so I have a solid core to work with.

Also, I'm not going to be replying much because I am in CLOCK UP mode.
>>52020253
...well played.
>>
>>52020243
It was like that as early as volume 5, anon. So it's covering at least three quarters of it. But fine, I suppose you have a point, and there should be someweak ones for offer. You could do that by still having the customization table, and just having a low-class Sacred Gear purchase that only gives enough points on the table to buy a single weak power. Would that work?
>>

I'm pretty sure you're replying to someone being a salty shit just to be a salty shit. He has that whiny attitude.

Would it hurt to talk to me about it? Or ask Wocky to talk to me? Or...anything sensible that isn't just provoking more arguments and conflict over claims that hadn't been touched in months? It feels like you're just doing this because of the vitriol involved. I'm happy this isn't turning into another storm, at least. I was picking it up because it hadn't seen activity in several months, and only now it was brought up when you saw I was trying for it.

I've broken my share of the unwritten rules around here, so I get I don't have room to talk on this, but I'm very skeptical after it feels like you've tried twice now to start cross-site drama over things like this. Yes, this board and the SB jumpchain board hate each a lot, and both sides have reasons to be angry at the other.

I'm not going to question your motives, but for god's sake, not all of these need to end in stupid drama.

I will only forgive you if you add a race section to Windwaker. I want mah birbs.
>>
>>52020531
Does the wind origin not count?

Started a pm on sb.
>>
>>52020523
Normally these kinds of comparisons aren't made, because you don't have any way to gauge, and it isn't like the jumpmakers started off on the same foot.

But then you remember that Blade was known for thinking he set records for jumpmaking speed or making the most jumps or something equally idiotic, and you have to just wonder what possesses Blade to make stupid comments like these. If you start going into realms of technical correctness you might as well bring up Mommy and DD again.
>>
>>52020580
>PM on SB
Blade is as cowardly as ever. He'll start shit over and over for everyone but when someone confronts him directly, he tries to hide his whining.
>>
>>52020531
To be fair, you probably should start asking people before you start working on jumps that were claims. If it turned into drama, part of it would be on your head for not having that courtesy.
>>
>>52020600
... Did SB do something to you personally?
>>
>>52020689
Got no issue with SB as a whole. i just find Blade to be pathetic and cowardly. Constantly bragging about his own work and claiming 'titles' like fastest jumpmaker. The fact that he has repeatedly started issues between different JC communities when almost everyone else on both sides doesn't care just makes him worse.
>>
>>52020704
Like, twice. Both times with an 'I think' tagged on, and then never again after we corrected him.
>>
>>52020704
It's funny how the people who actually hold the various titles don't ever bother with them much, yet Blade is the one known for trying to claim titles despite being nowhere close. And that's probably just it, if he didn't come off as attention seeking every time he posted it wouldn't be as much of an issue.
>>
>>52020704
...What 'title' is there to be claimed? How do you even measure that? Did he set a timer when he started working? Is he using a word processor that measures editing time?
>>
>>52020745
>Did he set a timer
It seems so. More embarrassingly is that it's a shit jump. Not particularly long, not very creative options and multiple options extremely similar to others. And yet he bragged about it as if it was a great achievement.
>>
>>52020745
Anon is referring to something that came up in the past when Blade finished Oblivion in 14 hours or whatever, then in his excitement he claimed that it was the fastest jump ever made. The one about making most jumps I think is the meme. I'm sure you can make up titles if you want, but what's the point?
>>
>>52020531
I just find it about that you've expressed a desire for the thread to be less sycophantic, yet you'll abuse the same sycophantry to break our rules for your own ends. To say nothing of posting "teasers" as if part of a jump is readily critiqued. Seems you were lying, or maybe you've forgotten. What a pity.
>>
>>52020768
Because Blade plays in a different league. There are a fair number of jumpmakers that end up ignoring the upper bracket if you want to call it that. The upper bracket would make everyone else look simple. I like to think that Blade just doesn't have any tact.
>>
>>52020741
What the fuck are you even talking about? One title, which he hasn't mentioned since we proved him wrong. Which was about five minutes afterwards.
>>
>>52020802
Upper bracket? What the heck are you on about?
>>
>>52019361
Generally, I start in out of place clothing, and then that clothing gets torn up and I have to move over to in-setting clothing. My fashion sense stays similar enough, though.

Today is a repeat of yesterday.
Tomorrow will be a repeat of today.

This mundane cycle known as life has made the world seem stagnant.

Who could have suspected that the world
has been horribly twisted?

Welcome to Double Cross. This is the world of traitors.

So with that out of the way…
This is a world much like the one you knew. But it has one key difference.
Renegade.
Calling it a virus is all we can do to make sense of it, as in many ways it is an entity that defies reason and belief. The Renegade virus is spread out across 80% of humanity and much of life on earth (and even places and objects), dormant in most. Those who encounter the virus in its active state or enter a state of high stress will “awaken”, which has two results. The first, most common and thus most boring result for humans, is that you die. The second is where the fun begins. Those who awaken and survive become...different. They become creatures known as Overed. They gain new abilities, things only seen in the pages of a manga. The powers are various but there are certain groupings of abilities, called ‘strains’ that appear to always group up together. Some people manifest multiple strains, as well. However, they also gain an urge, an impulse that they have to fight constantly or become a horrid beast known as a Gjaum.
Those who walk the edge are twicefold traitors, neither man nor monster. This is their world, and you’ll need quite a bit to be ready for it.

+1000 Crisis Points for your troubles.

So this is a thing i guess.

It's already shaping up to be a lil hefty.

>>
>>52020912
You can be a snarky, snide little wheedler all you want, but the fact that there was no visible progress on the Jump for months until Heavens started showing serious interest makes him the clear victor in this. If anything, BLADE and this other "Jumpmaker" who has yet to post here look petty for piling on the claim after so long and stirring up drama rather than having a conversation.

Sitting on a title for a while is fine, but I think most people would agree that after 6 months it's up in the air again.
>>
>>52020982
Heavens really needs to pick up a habit of talking to people and asking about this kind of shit instead of moving forward and expecting them to be okay with it.
>>
>>52020834
Not him, but I suspect he's talking about the item from SCP, specifically SCP-1134, its basically paint that when painted on somethig and allowed to harden it is impervious to any force under 65,000 Newtons, pretty fucking strong.
>>
Jumpers, which is your favorite D&D jump and why?
>>
>>52020936
Except they claimed it here, they posted a WIP last month. This is blatant rule-breaking, and it's not even like Overwatch where the makers vanished off the face of the Earth. Fuck, he has an SB account. He literally could have asked both of them any time.

Honestly no one tries to measure against Dirge, if you want to call brackets, he's off in a bracket of his own. I think it's just that in the past before Dirge broke 30, people lumped him, Cats, and stupid_dog together since they all had around 25 or so.

People have been given over a month to claim and show work on all of Red's Jumps and Claims. None have done so. Are you officially claiming such? If so, congrats. Please have some work ready to show in a timely manner. People are greatly anticipating a Black Crusade Jump.

>>52021122
He wants to do a Jump that has shown no progress in a substantial amount of time. Even the last posting of the Jump nearly two months ago had nothing new added. Heavens has been making his intent clear for a number of weeks now and not once has BLADE or this other Jumpmaker even once responded with a "Hey, we're still working on that."

So, in short, no, I don't think the onus is on Heavens to open a direct line of communication when there has been ample opportunity for the claim sitters to speak up.

I never said Heavens has been seeking to talk to them. I said he clearly stated his intention, in the thread, to take over the property. Statements that were, for the most part, either ignored or greeted with excitement.

And as I stated, it is hardly overthrowing when there has been a decided lack of visible process in an extended period of time.

By the same token, nobody can be expected to read all of ANYBODY's posts, but when the two are posting in the same thread, it is generally expected they are paying at least a little attention to the other posts. If not, well, sucks to be them.

Alright, I just finished talking with the both of them.

The anon was correct in that I was the offending party here and made a snap decision without asking first. So it was mostly between whether I'd drop what I made or if we'd work together. We've settled on the latter - Wocky and Cthulhu both expressed interest in me continuing with it, and I didn't want their work to be for nothing.

Basically, where we make a tg/SB jump for the respective drives, and folks can use whichever they want. At least, I won't kick up a fuss over it. Might see if we can work together and consolidate it into one jump, but that's in the concept phase right now.

Problem resolved. Mostly!

We hit the ground running, it seems. I can see the portal to hell and the smartest possible move for us is to run the other way, as far and fast as possible. The eight of us won't be able to make it stealthily, but we've gotten pretty good at the ole' violent retreat. So, I take an Ebony Arrow of Slaying, put it in my Holy Bow, aim at one of the bigger demons, and we're already running before the thing hits the ground. While they're swarming and angry around the head of the weird-tentacle-mouthed creature, I use the Proton Collider from Red Alert 3. Standsonas are especially useful in combat with demons, and I can charge weapons with my chi/ki/other energies for use against them while we go.

The rest of the jump we worked as Caravan guards so that the plot could progress as it normally would. The locals thought the idea of people showing up from outside the universe to use super-ghosts to fight the demons made as much sense as the demons themselves, so they just went with it. God, I love the jaded. I'm not sure what that plot is, actually, but I do know this was made by the people who made Diablo, so nothing was really resolved and the sequel won't solve anything either. I'll just do the good I can and be on my way.

*Syndrome(0, Mandatory for Renegade Being, False Hearts): The Renegade is a powerful virus, with its powers being manyfold and deep. However, there are certain ‘packages’ of power themes that crop up in conjunction with one another, and these “syndromes” in turn determine the kinds of powers you can purchase and use. Keep in mind that at least within this jump, the more powerful an ability, the stronger chance of “encroachment” from Renegade and subsequent loss of identity is threatened.

Angel Halo: This Syndrome gives the ability to manipulate the degree of light and its refractive rate, as well as produce light from their body. With this light source, blinding flashes can be used and laser attacks are possible when wavelengths are combined. When using these abilities, Overeds have been known to shine, which earned this Syndrome the name "Angel Halo."
Oh..right, enhancement of all five senses has been categorized under this Syndrome. Although sight enhancement is the only ability that "fits" with Angel Halo, all Angel Halo Overeds possess the potential to enhance all senses, for some reason.

Balor: Named for the figure of celtic myth with an evil eye, Balor is a Syndrome that manipulates gravity. When the Balor exorcises his power, a sphere called the "Evil Eye" appears and floats by the user. By exerting control over this sphere, Overeds are able to freely manipulate gravity.
It is not certain as to why this sphere or "Evil Eye" can control gravity. Some theories suggest that this sphere is amazingly dense and can create magnetic fields by being rotated. Ultimately, none of these theories are proven, but it's clear that Balor Overeds can create phenomena that can only be described as gravity control.

posting some syndrome descriptions so people can see why this jump is gonna be a bit hefty.

Black Dog: Named for a legendary black dog of british myth said to arrive with lightning, This Syndrome is characterized by the ability to gather and shoot bio-electricity, the kind of electricity that exists in all organisms. While normally impossible with normal lifeforms, Overeds with this Syndrome grow special "power plant cells" that produces and controls large amounts of electricity...in turn, it allows you to create magnetic forces as well and manipulate metal!
By regulating this bio-electricity, an Overed can also control machinery. A machine can be operated hands-free as long as the nerves and machine are in contact. This ability has led to mechanical implants that can be controlled with the mind, cybernetics! Black Dog users are the ones most easily able to create and utilize them, however.
Bram Stoker: It might be obvious by the name, This Syndrome grants the ability to control blood. Blood can be used as bullets, transformed into melee weaponry and armor, or be modified to speed up the body's healing process...So flexible, it is!
Overeds that display this Syndrome are able to manipulate blood that has left their body, if it’s left recently. One of the more unique uses of this Syndrome involves the creation of "Servants," mindless beings that follow the bidding of the person whose blood they were born from...I suppose you could call them blood brothers? It is also possible for an Overed to modify the composition or DNA of blood and use it to heal others, if they’re close enough.
This Syndrome is named after the author of the nineteenth century work Dracula, appropriate for a blood-based Syndrome!

It'd help, in the home verse it appears to work that way pretty well as the "Lois" mechanic is using social links to try and reassert your humanity.

Chimaera: This Syndrome's name is a reference to a beast from Greek mythology. This mythical beast had the head and front legs of a lion, the body and rear legs of a goat, a snake for a tail, and a goat head sticking out of its body. The name of a beast that is made up of several different animal parts describes the users of this syndrome pretty well.
This Syndrome transforms an Overed's body parts into the body parts of bugs or animals, taking on the claws of predators and the armor of prey. It’s also possible for wings, tails, a third arm, and other non-human body parts to grow out of the body if they desire!
The Chimaera Syndrome also bestows superhuman strength on top of its transformations. An eight year old child that displayed this Syndrome was able to easily lift a van with one hand, as an example of its potential...Not bad, eh?
Exile: The name Exile originates from a Japanese god banished away for his boneless appearance. This Syndrome is characterized by the ability to stretch, shrink, and radically transform the body. Unlike its fellow body-changing Syndrome Chimaera, Exile concentrates not on the "tougher" qualities of the body but rather on the "softer" qualities. They can detach their body as well with ease...In addition, Overeds with this Syndrome will be able to freely move parts of their body that were originally immobile...including bones and organs. The powers of the exile are as varied as they are horrifying.

Hanuman: This Syndrome is characterized by super speed. The muscles and reflexes of an Overed are enhanced not for the purpose of power, but for speed, with the power to even make one a Lord of the Speed.
This Syndrome is also characterized by the ability to manipulate oscillating waves. Those that display this Syndrome are able to manipulate frequencies by vibrating a part of their body and can create various miraculous powers by adjusting the frequency. The simplest application of this ability involves attacking an enemy a shockwave.
The name Hanuman was taken from the monkey-faced god that appeared in indian myth, a heroic figure.
Morpheus: This Syndrome offers the ability to transmute any object the user is touching into something else entirely. Fundamentally speaking, Morpheus is similar to some processes by earth insects in that it crystallizes whatever it takes in and then forces that material out. However, Morpheus is different in that it can ignore mass during transmutation. Twigs can be changed into swords and roses can become guns.
In addition to these abilities, Morpheus has other abilities that utilize a special "sand" that is a byproduct of transmutations, that they can manipulate.
The name Morpheus comes from the word “morphing” and name of the god of Dreams (or “sandman”) of Greek mythology.

Neumann: Simply put, the Neumann Syndrome will make one a perfect genius. Those that display this Syndrome will develop a special network of neural circuitry within their brain that allows them to perform extremely fast mental calculations and fire on all cylinders that even mundane geniuses could never hope to match. Overeds with the Neumann Syndrome become capable of ingenious feats and enter a world of thought few if any could dream of. This skill allows some to master the gun right after holding one for the first time, while others can acquire knowledge that they could not have known.
This Syndrome was named after the mathematician Von Neumann, a well known genius.

Orcus: Named for the god of the dead in Roman myth, Those that display the Orcus Syndrome gain the ability to manipulate their surroundings through the release of special "particles" similar to the <<Warding>> power of all Overed into the immediate area. Specialists call this particle-saturated area the Overed's "Domain."
In this Domain, Orcus Overeds can shoot the earth out as spears, tap into the senses of animals, or even manipulate humans. Each of these powers easily distinguishes Orcus from other Syndromes, making it the one true "Ruler of the Domain."

seriously it's like if someone unleashed an RE-custom'd jumperized virus onto an otherwise boring anime world

Salamandra: Heat is the basis of the Salamandra Syndrome's abilities, as could be guessed. With the ability to control heat energy, those with the Salamandra Syndrome can use fire or ice by creating extremely high heats and super-low temperatures...Since, well, fire and ice are only two sides of the coin, right?
This control over heat energy may also be used to enhance one's body, amazingly enough Heat may be converted into physical energy that can be used for athletic feats, or the user may adjust his body temperature when he needs to calm down and make better decisions, using the principle of cooled ‘computers’ working faster and better.
It was named for "Salamandra," a fire lizard. However, another legend tells that the salamandra is so cold that fire would be extinguished when it comes in contact with the animal. This Syndrome was named Salamandra as it fit the duality of its potential.

Solaris: The name was taken from a fictional planet in a novel of the same name said to inflict hallucinations. Overeds that display the Solaris Syndrome gain the ability to produce chemicals in their own bodies, essentially making them walking chemical plants. These chemicals can be used internally or be excreted from the body in various forms to use on others!
When used internally, these chemicals can be used as a response-enhancing neural narcotic or as a supplement for healing abilities. Chemicals that are released from the body can agitate a target's pain sensors or paralyze him altogether, if the user so wished. With enough drugs, It is possible to create illusions that drops someone into a state of paranoia, or even manipulate memories...

Little unsure about this, but
It's a game option so I gotta figure out how to handle it

Ouroboros(300 CP): ...Oh, I’m not sure this is a good idea, but if you’re willing to pay up you can take this alarming Syndrome. It has three main abilities, the first two of which are why I’m a bit hesitant.
The first of these miraculous abilities is
*Self-Evolution: Ouroboros can strengthen itself using the strains it stole from others. Much like how the introduction of a new predator will affect the evolution of a species, introducing foreign strains will force preexisting strains to adapt and develop new abilities.
The second is...
*Power Copying: Ouroboros can copy the abilities of other Overeds. Various instances have shown that Ouroboros Overeds can copy any ability, such as Chimaera mutations. The Ouroboros strain responds to whatever outside power it is exposed to and makes it part of itself. Coupled with the ability to self-evolve, a copied Power can eventually surpass the original in strength.
The last one would be alright on its own, but coupled with the previous
*Shadow Manipulation: Ouroboros Overeds can manipulate their shadows and use them in an offensive capacity. The Ouroboros shadow is not a true shadow, as that’d be silly. It is believed the Ouroboros shadow is that it is a flattened bodily extension that is being used by the Ouroboros strain as an outside vehicle. This is evidenced Avatars, shadows that act as “guardians” that Stand with them.
It is a potent ability to have in this world...I hope you understand. The only merciful part of this is that Ouroboros can mimic powers, but it doesn’t seem to be able to keep them indefinitely. It can at most mimic 3 powers at a time, before it must drop another to take on the abilities of another Syndrome.

>>
What do you think dragon from worm looks like as a human?
>>
...AH, I realized something that might be confusing.
You do NOT get these powers right off the bat from Syndromes, they allow you to pick powers that allow you to do that.
Sorry for the confusion.

It sounds like all this only works on strains of the Renegade virus, and only temporarily at best. Not sure it's worth the price tag.
>>

Unless we take different origins, my companions and I are stuck around the same age physically. Our appearances differ enough that some of us look older or younger, like Somni always looks like an old man with a beard due to his neck-floof and large ears and nose.

It's a multiplier on other strains too, as mentioned. Hybrids with it can expect to get a bit of a boost.
The Avatar ability also can combo as well. A purebred may only rely on copying and shadow powers, but it is pretty good when added onto other Renegade powers.

>>52022524
Nah, my companions tend to not be jerks like that, and if they are then they're the minority of the group.

Of course that doesn't stop them from taking pictures of child me and constantly talking about how adorable I am, but at least they don't make me wear embarrassing costumes.

It's more or less commenting that it's very rare and potent in-setting and might throw a giant pipe bomb into the state of affairs as-is, especially because the advent of Ouroboros in-setting was a giant shock because of it's abilities.

58. Thief
Era: The Dark Project
Age: 25, Origin: Drop-In
Perks: Stealth, Thief Tricks, Acrobat, Swooping, Deadeye Aim, Blessings, Observant, Elemental Crystals
Items: Short Bow, Quiver, Thief Arrows, Stealthy Clothes
Drawbacks: Hunted by Hammerites

This is a weird bit of magical steampunk, and I find this place to be terribly corrupt. So, I'll spend my days making the world illegally more fair through theft. The major unfairness I encounter is when the Trickster dies, but the Builder hangs around. I am a big fan of happy mediums in the chaos versus order fight, but I still prefer chaos being the big power, just not to the extent that it rules everything. Basically, chaos doesn't care about you. Order wants to know exactly what you're doing and will destroy you for not doing what it thinks you should be doing.

So, the second the Trickster kicks the bucket, I'm already ruining the Hammerites day. And they, in turn, are doing their best to ruin mine. Installing lights throughout the city to catch me. Raiding and bribing Thieves Guilds to keep me from making a dishonest buck. They even take in the homeless as prisoners, feeding them and giving them a safe place to sleep to deny me information. Those utter bastards.

My work against them really pays off when the Metal Age rolls around and I help Garret stop the end of all biological life. I like biological life. Numerous subcategories of it are fun to cuddle and hold. It's a fun little cat and mouse game, where I can take advantage of Gone from the previous jump when things get too hairy. I still wish I could go out to a nice restaurant or make some new friends without them getting attacked, though.

I... think you can get a discount on either type of Skill? I don't think Val's ever gone that much into Prana Burst, but you'd probably be able to get a boost equal to the higher parameter rankings on top of what you already have.

Anyway, this isn't from my current chain, but it's the last Servant build I did for Jumper himself.

Class (Berserker)
Template (Lily)
Strength A+/A++
Endurance A+/A++
Agility C/B
Mana C/B
Luck E/D

Mad Enhancement EX
All Parameters are Ranked-Up, and the Servant appears to speak and think normally. However, there is a fundamental disconnect with others due to the nature of his travels, in which he constantly changes ideals and dogma. "Verily, we shall defend humanity against the hateful world we were born in." "Society is rotten to the core, so we shall destroy the system in the flames of justice and begin anew." "Thus, I have decreed our decadence, and so we will begin again as animals beholden to mother nature." "Rise, my soldiers, and let us take back the world stolen by wretched Gaia." Only "creatures without ego" can come to a mutual understanding with Berserker.

Nature of a Rebellious Spirit EX
At this level, it is a simple fact that one will never truly serve a liege or rule so much as a small village. The nature of this Skill for Servant Berserker is less that "one does not wish or lacks the ability to serve", but more that "one desires to find a liege to serve until the end of time". However, such a free spirit will likely never find a person they are happy with. In practice, they will seek out kings, empresses, generals, and anyone of the like, dutifully advancing their objectives until he has ascertained their qualities, at which point their liege is cast down by betrayal and their holdings burn in the fires of rebellion.
>>
>>52023664
Field too long. RIP.

Divinity EX
The status of being a Divine Spirit. As one who follows and enforces the laws of the heavens, it is possible for the utilization of a God's Authority. Things such as the erosion of societal ideals, conjuring of forests, or destruction of kingdoms are all possible, but as the Servant's power is still rather low, the natural backlash from its usage in the modern world is untenable.

Left Hand - Xanadu Matrix: Left Arm - Foundation of Heaven's Blessing D
Right Hand - Evil Eater: Right Arm - Wickedness Predation D
Märchen Meines Lebens: A Story Of My Liege B+

NPs are just canon rip-offs because I'm a creatively bankrupt hack.

The Luck stat in Fate is your ability to 'defy fate'.
So doing things like dodging causality reversing spears like Saber did in Stay Night.

Saber was able to make a B Rank NP that supposed to always hit the heart only strike her shoulder, with only B Rank Luck.

So… I dunno. Maybe if you dodged just right, Cu Chulainn might miss entirely?
I should mention I'm not an expert or anything, this just the stuff I've absorbed from the thread, the wiki, and the show.

Haven't been to Fate/ yet, but when I do, I know that it's gonna involve high rank Mana, EX Item Creation, and a badass craftsman's gloves NP to speed up my creation time. Maybe see about buying one of them empty Gates of Babylon, beat Gil at his own game.

Because my clothing is a microcosm of the cosmic void, it tends to look out of place wherever I go.

>>52022524
...which ones? Because the likes of Morrigan, Panty and Kiara find my predicament unhealthily fascinating. Apparently I look absolutely adorable as a little boy from a distance, and absolutely chiseled up close so. Suffice to say I have NO shortage of volunteers to be my surrogate older sister, but I really wish they'd be less touchy feely in public. On a TOTALLY unrelated note, I've met a lot of alternate universe Chris Hansons over the course of my chain because of hilarious misunderstanding involving said companions momentarily forgetting that in most worlds, it is not appropriate for a grown woman to start grinding against a little boy.

Apparently the fact that I usually have all my powers despite looking so vulnerable "feels so wrong in the right way" to quote Esdeath.

Fortunately there's a few like Bayonetta in whom I bring out ACTUAL maternal instinct, so-really, it's just a matter of picking the right babysitter.

Prana Burst A allows a skinny waif like Saber to, all things being equal, be one of the physically most adept Servants in the Grail Wars she fought in alongside the likes of Cu Cuchulain. I imagine Prana Burst EX would be full on muscle/melee weapon wizardry.

Luck is basically a measurement of a D&D saving throw; it's used as a check to escape causality effects like Gae Bolg's reversal, and certain other NP-related curses. On a more abstract level it's sometimes implied to represent your capacity to change your own fate.

Location: South America (Bahia)
Perks: Combat Method (Capoeira), Ki Manipulation, The Street Fighter, Mysterious, Hermit, Soul Power, Senjutsu Apprentice
Items: Serene Mountain
Drawbacks: Misunderstandings, Strongest In The World

At this point, I think my best option is to just pretend to be insane and fuck things up for everyone around me. Everything is an excuse to fight, and I hold zero chance of flying beneath the radar now that I'm some super-powered wiseman. All attempts at chilling on my mountain dancing with monkeys will fall apart, but a man has to try, giant rampaging ki-warriors be damned. I keep returning to my mountain, trying to meditate and collect myself, and maybe teach the local parrot population to waterbend in a re-enactment of the Rio openings, when I'm interrupted by some asshole who takes "I wouldn't fight you with another man's dick" as an excuse to chase me through the jungle doing aerial spinkicks like a fucking buzzsaw.

My companions are once again my students because we still have the Dojo from Samurai X, and they enjoy fighting the locals as well. So, at least some days are spent training my "elite students", though they aren't immune to the effects of Misunderstandings. I'll wake up and cook them breakfast since I only need 4 hours of sleep and I'll only be able to set half the table before Oto and Chesnaught try to break a chair over my face when I ask them how they want their eggs today. At least I convinced them to stop using swords.

As a general rule, in Fate every FACTION is a big, smelly bag of dicks. Under the nice manners, maguses are like rats in a sinking ship, desperately clawing at each other to reach the Root.

So you've got Yggdmillenia doing that same old tired song and dance a step faster than the Clocktower would like. Dicks. And then you have Shirou Kotomine, who ostensibly wants to clambor into the Grail to kill Angra Mainyu for good but discards everyone who's in the way of that when he stops holding leverage over them. And his end goal still hasn't been completely elaborated; if I've learned anything from the Grail Wars, it's that you can't trust a priest who can shoot black holes.

In short, I consider him a man after my own heart actually doing something worthwhile with the Grail War for once.

But if I had to give advice to you-it's to fuck 'em both, and pick a side based on which side's guys you like better. Or be your own side, if it suits you.

If I don't have powers, I'll just use one of my superweapons instead, like Tsundachi. then if she was the one doing it, I'd be in deep trouble

Although Colress has raised me a few times in my jumper's backstory or tutored them on different worlds prior to merging and he was my Mentor for the G Gundam drawback where you get a Mentor that then dies. Thus I see him as some kinda weird father figure, in a way.

I guess maybe he sees me as a daughter figure too, since he's been cooling it with the whole "I'm gonna backstab you to see what you can do against me and I can see your potential hee hee" bullshit lately.

*Drop-in
Cover(100): You’re able to take on the guise of a functioning member of society pretty well. That is to say, you can with a few faked licenses and the right clothes, convince people you’re totally a Doctor and treat you as such. Of course, make sure you have some way of avoiding that bluff being called...
Work(100): You’ll find that faking it until you can make it is a valid strategy! As long as you’re actively performing a task you have no experience in, acting out as something without the skills to back it up, that your intuition is strong enough to make up the difference and even allow you to learn that task with ease!
Catalyst(200): Traditionally, a catalyst is a special material that participates in a chemical reaction, but is not consumed in the process. In Renegade sciences, the term is used to refer to viruses that stimulate not its host's abilities, but the abilities of others...You’re much like a Catalyst in that sense. You can stir on and improve the abilities of others, using your friendship or rivalry to spur them on to new heights of ability.
Living Dead(200): You once died, and the experience has changed you forever….The death you experienced may be a physical, mental, or social in nature, but no matter the case, you found that once you returned to the living, you lost so much. You are now a free person, but the experience has made you tougher to kill. You’ll take a lot more punishment than you would have before, mentally and physically, and now loss stings a lot less as you can find it easy to move on and ‘detach’ from things you would have once clung to desperately.

finished drop-in, next post should finish it

Dead Apostles signed a deal with the True Ancestors to rule while their masters were down and give them their blood whenever they were hungry so they wouldn't prey on humans. Dead Apostles went back on that, killed them all, and now eat humans and act like dicks. None of what they did is justified.

>gods
Given a mission by Gaia to control humans. Can't manage that despite having reality warping powers. Nothing justifies that stupidity.

>demons
The only relevant demons were given orders to protect humanity and went full retard and interpreted it as IF HUMANS ARE ALL DEAD THEY WON'T SUFFER ANYMORE IT'S GENIUS! That kind of stupidity is annoying and tiring.

>planets
Gaia fucked up dozens of attempts to control or kill humanity despite her power. Her stupidity is boundless. And in the end she just throws a hissy fit and demands all humans be slaughtered by TYPEs instead of outliving her. She's just a cunt/

Then you obviously didn't read the story, because the whole thing wasn't started by a Grail War, but by an entity attempting to follow an older life form's wishes for destruction. They didn't even need the Grail War realistically if the Root of Evil would appear sooner anyways. The world also isn't saved. It's actually in a deeper mess now because the Grail War accelerated the whole awakening process.

Hounds of Tindalos(400): You think that people wouldn’t find the truth, no matter how many bodies were left by False Hearts or how many the UGN wiped clean of their knowledge to hide the evidence of Gjaum on such a wide scale? The Overed leave a mess wherever they go, and some civilians are tired of it. Tindalos was an organization started by civilians who managed to rally together a number of smaller task forces by civilians looking into the tragedies of the Renegade phenomena, and now you are a high ranking member if not being looked to as a potential leader. This grants you a wide array of information and assistance networks as well as even a good amount of militant civilians(since many of Tindalos’ members are police officers or military officers stationed in the various Cities)...and in the future, organizing together mundane humans to rise and struggle against powered individuals and do so effectively is a simple matter for you.
Counter-Renegade (400): Renegade is capable of many things, but like all viruses some can build an immunity. And where there’s immunity, some are even able to produce a vaccine, or a cure to combat it. You are such a cure, as you are able to produce an anti-virus for Renegade and use it offensively, harming the beings of Renegade such as Overed or Gjaum and weakening them. It appears that handling such a powerful virus has made your body’s immune system overall powerful, as it can create a functional (though not perfect) antidote and antibody for any virus or poison you encounter within the hour, as long as you can survive during the meantime.

Wow the capstones are long.

Blue Queen(600): There was once an artificially created Overed known as the Blue Queen, who’s greatest power was that she could create Overeds by awakening their dormant Renegade with no chance of death. Now, that power is in your hands. You are a walking font of the Renegade much like a Renegade Being, but unlike them you have both the care and fine control to withhold the Virus within yourself until you wish to grant someone the “Gift.” When you do, they’ll become an Overed with random breeding and syndromes, though with time and expertise you could even control which Syndromes appear( Breeding appears to be inherently random). At the peak of your ability, you could go so far as to craft Renegade Beings, finding the ‘right’ objects or concepts that are receptive to Renegade and producing the Being from them at your own will.

Living Legend(600): You’ve just got that aura to you, you know? You’re a living legend, pal! Your face and name are known throughout your profession. Well...if you aren’t already, you’re soon to be. You have the fame and charisma to become a star of whatever talents you hone, and you can easily reach the levels of stardom and charisma where if you want something...you get it. Be it through begging, borrowing, stealing or using your connections, if it exists in this world, you can find SOMEONE to give it to you...though the price may be high, literally or figuratively. Still, today, a star is born and you can easily expect to have people both in awe, horror and wonder of you when you show up, with fanclubs being a given and your enemies quaking in their boots upon hearing you are coming.

Finally.
And for your patience

dropping off the Wild Card capstones before bed

Renegade Crystal(600): Either by your own will or by accident, this Crystal has fused itself somewhere onto or inside your body. The Renegade Crystal - also sometimes called the "Philosopher's Stone" - is a colony of the Renegade that has seeped into a piece of ore in an act of self-preservation. The Crystal has the ability to drastically strengthen Renegade abilities by making the virus more active. Only the Adapted - people that have an affinity for the Crystal - are the only ones that can control the crystal's destructive power. Non-Adapted that receive the Crystal often die or become Gjaums...but you’re an Adapted. This Renegade Crystal is a potent source of energy you can call upon for many things, and even those who have have not taken Syndrome can use it to increase their prowess both physical and mental by magnitudes by stimulating the Crystal within them for bursts of power. However, it will tax your willpower and mental strength in the process.

Lost Number(600): While before it could have been that you were a product of fate and luck, now it’s apparent you aren’t just some ordinary person. No, you’re a superior being. Or an attempt at one, at least. Perhaps you remember the training and experiments performed on you before you escaped or were freed by a sympathetic scientist, or maybe you remember nothing about what made you this way. Either way, you are a cut above the common stock, even for an Overed! Your natural body is strong, fast, durable enough to battle weak Gjaum and Overed even without being enhanced...You’re at least peak human, if not beyond that. You also have a great mind, not quite approaching a Neumann’s yet but far closer than any other non-Overed ever has approached. This is amplified if you’ve become an Overed as well, being a genius even among Neumanns and a powerhouse even compared to other Chimaeras.

Nooot really. At this point I have so many different kaiju/monster types swirling around in my veins that my blood is bright, glowing orange.

I did one of those color mixing tests and found that my blood came out a burnt orange color, then I went Akrid in the Lost Planet jump, and they have glowing orange blood, so it all synergized well.

As for the last time someone made me bleed my own blood, that would be the last sparring session I had with Selvaria. My companions do not mess around with training, and while I might be a jack-of-all trades, each of my buddies has their own thing they excel at to such a degree that they can kick my ass with it.

Selvaria's thing is shield-and-spear fighting.

In all fairness the demon in question is a sort of immortal magical AI construct who's practically omniscient-enough to be fully aware of the horrible, horrible, horrible things in humanity's future. From its' point of view, humanity's finite lifespans only dooms the species in the long term. He doesn't get why things like family, individuality and hope matter more than survival because so he ends up thinking of humans as blind idiots who need to be saved from themselves. Also, just to clarify-he wants to incinerate alternate continuities of human history in order to gather enough energy to reshape the planet such that the concept of death is completely removed, retconning all humans into immortal and changeless. It's kind of like a combination of Dagda from SMT 4 Apocalypse's and Nox from Wakfu's plans.

I'm not gonna defend the gods, though. In either continuity they're so fucking stupid I wouldn't be surprised if they can't wipe their asses without their reality warping powers. Balor somehow misplaced the MEoDP into the Shikis' ownership, Tiamat spends most of her return screaming AAAAAAAAAA while having babies, Poseidon somehow lost a fight to either Queen Elizabeth or Francis Drake, and Ishtar is reduced to a joke after she's summoned into Rin's body.

>>52024417
Nah. Gil's refusal to carry out their will just diminished their influence over humanity to the point where the advancement of human civilisation drove them into extinction by slowly changing the metaphysical laws of the World. He never actually ran around beating up gods until that one Grand Order story arc.

Throughout the nasuverse, demons are described as actually being generally well-intentioned, but their morality is alien and almost Faesque so their "solution" are almost indistinguishable from unabashedly evil demons in other settings. Said solutions include helping a cripple by contracting with him to replace his arms in exchange for feeding off his soul, or enlightenment orgies.

>Tiamat
To be fair. she's not really a normal goddess, she's more like a primal engine of birth and motherhood. One who has spent eons immersed in corruption that's like super grail mud, and is currently having a complete breakdown because her children locked her up, told her they don't want her to be mom anymore, and then tried to kill her.

It's like a computer program designed to enjoy its functionality that's been infected with a virus then been told nobody likes it, nobody wants it to do anything anymore, then actively been prevented from serving its functionality. All without being programmed to be capable of even understanding any of this shit.
>>
>>52024523
Tiamat isn't a goddess period. The line in her bio on FGO about her being a deity from Mesopotamian mythos is a referring to her source IRL. Beasts are different from Deities.

If Grand Order uses Extella's canon for the deities, all of the Gods are ayylmaos that decided to settle on Earth until their death sentence was executed by the Harvest Star. .

Speaking of Fate/Stay Night, I have a question about a proposed Noble Phantasm.

I went to the Fate-Verse in the King Arthur Jump, and I made it my Quest to hunt down magical beasts. The NP I'm envisioning ties into that. I'd like some opinions on them and if they are too over or under powered.

First Idea: (relates to first part of Quest, hunting down magical beasts from all over)
Hunter's Mark (A) +anti-unit, can "mark" a target in line-of-sight. A marked target receives a rank down in all stats and has their location always known. Only one target can be marked at a time.

Second Idea: (relates to final part of my Quest- slaying one of every type of dragon)
Dragon Slayer (A) +basically Armor of Fafnir but upped a rank and with no "weak spot", the general weakness to anti-dragon stuff would stay

http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_of_Fafnir

So what do you guys think? As far as A rank NP's go, are they up to par, or do they need to be buffed?

>>
>>52024593
Personally, my big problem with it is how lazy it is as writing. Instead of working within the long established setting he had, he just completely rewrote it to fit the new plot. It's like Kaguya in Naruto, except worse. It's not just the completely new, never hinted at before threat, it also rewrites canon to make that new threat fit in so it feels like he had an idea and forced it in, rather then try to work it in naturally. And it's not like Extella couldn't be worked in naturally either.

It's the way you're talking about lazy writing that comes off as some sort of expert critique on quality. Nasu's writing hasn't changed, if you compare his early writing to his recent works, the writing is pretty much the same. If anything he's gotten more diligent in his writing and stopped using quite as much obscure prose.

I think what you're trying to get at is the idea that he should have taken a completely new approach and left Fate alone. But that's something that's easy for a person to say when they're a consumer and not the creator. If all of our ideas magically became best sellers, I'm sure every one of us would have multiple unique franchises that the world has never seen before. But that's not the case. Reusing old material is the oldest trick in the book when it comes to writing. Nasu was never going to be some revolutionary in that regard. Unless you're going to call every writer lazy, it seems like a rather petty opinion. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but rarely do you see backseat writing comments like this except on English forums, hence rabid western fanboys.

Why it comes off as you calling it overnight is because you reference a "completely new, never hinted at before threat" when it isn't true. The Clock Tower stories tie in to Grand Order, the other Fate franchises built up its foundation. The Beasts aren't a new concept. The Velber aren't a new concept. Both of these are just the same things packaged under a different name, and given a coherent purpose in Nasu's head.

And that's probably what it boils down to. You have this notion of how Fate should go in order for it to not be "lazy", but it conflicts with the actual writer's notion of how things should go. It should be pretty obvious who wins that round.
>>
>>52024976

>>
>>52024979
Well Mr. Weab, here in the west we have a saying, it's that you don't need to be a chef to know something tastes like shit. This, of course, applies to other things too. For example, you don't need to be a writer to realize writing is poor and hackneyed. There are no notions of "I have to be absolutely polite and am not allowed to criticize anything or hold any opinions," over here.
>>
>>52024976
i don't because my Properties have a fair amount of Alpha lantern's with all my genetic based abilities on guard 24 seven.
>>
>>52024979
Not him, but for your part your acting like Nasu is completely flawless as a writer is pretty damn insultingly dismissive of the massive tonal shifts his works have undergone. You really going to sit here and tell me, for example, Fate/Extra is completely incongruous and logically coherent with the likes of Tsukihime?

The odd thing is, I kind of agree on a lot of stuff you said about foreshadowing (The Ancient "I" in Melty Blood, the beast mentioned in Fate/Prototype); at the very least it functions as self-references of a sort. But that doesn't necessarily defend their execution if they're seen as obscure to the point of being incoherent and unconnected with how their previous capabilities and limits were defined. But the VELBER? No. Up until then, the only aliens mentioned were TYPEs. I'm actually pretty curious where people are getting the fact that Velber actually are TYPEs instead of a new thing he made up to give Extella a new villain.

>but it conflicts with the actual writer's notion of how things should go. It should be pretty obvious who wins that round

So your argument is predicated on the idea that the "writer's notion" of how a story should go is absolutely and objectively perfect? Well, by that reasoning guess what?

50 Shades of Grey and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are masterpieces!

As someone who has been through the lore, I've never said it was a retcon. I have, however, noticed it's somewhat inconsistent, arbitrary in places and contingent on ambiguous statements in interviews which may or may not be reflected in the works proper.

Remember back when Arcuied was supposed to be the most powerful character in the series? Me neither.
>>
>>52025118
I think it's less 'retcon' for like, capeshit, as it is 'oh this thing is actually waaaay more important to the entire setting and very different to what it was described at at any point until this, despite the fact that if it was this thing, it makes a bunch of important stuff make no sense or seem really silly" for a bunch of different things. Basically things being revealed as being very different or way, way more important/powerful then they were until this point despite there being little or no indication of that until then.

At least, that's what I've noticed happens a bunch. I can't say I've noticed outright retcons.

See this is why I wonder if any of you from either "side" of this great Fate debate read the lore at all.
Just read this, as far as I can tell it agrees with what was in the original translation of the lorebook anyways. http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Sandubadear/Fate/EXTELLA_summary

You don't need to dedicate hours of time on a video game in order to improve your imaginary adventure creative writing exercise in order to criticise a work's obscurity itself.

Frankly it's damn disincentivising to read the lore when at any given moment it may not be relevant to the next game in the franchise.

>At its core, G.Altera/Sefar/Velber 02 and its cronies are DIGITAL lifeforms. What crashed into the moon is a photonic crystal ship, in which's 'cockpit', which isn't really a physical place is the Altera core. The only physical thing is Earth!Altera which it spawned as a linked avatar in the real world to grow and destroy the planet the first time they showed up. It's basically a TYPE. Nothing of earth can hurt it, not like, its SO strong, more like the concept of hurting it doesn't exist, regardless of the weapon, concept, or strength used. It has no concept of death, etc. G.Altera/Sefar killed ANYTHING that fought it, Gods, TYPES, spirits, heroes, Humans, nature, Gaia, it can absorb the mana of anything and use it to grow.

So, not a TYPE at all technically-just something with a TYPE's capabilities.

I don't know what annoys me more, the fact that the holy sword beats Altera because lolitjustdoes or the fact that Altera has less than no reason to fall in love with Hakuno. It'd be fine if it was a general compassion for Earth and a rebellion against her programming but no, gotta get dat milky chocolate waifu.

Soul Eater 2.0 Changelog.
--Massive amounts of formatting.
--Student Demon Weapons & Meisters Origins no longer have a price.
--Witch Origin's price increased to 300 to reflect additional freebies within the Jump.
--Witch Origin's arbitrary animal theme limits removed. Lions, bears, whatever. Just make an attempt to keep it witchy alright?
--All Racial Perks have been moved to a new Race Section.
--New Earth Shaman Race
--Perks are now sorted based on what origin they're discounted towards instead of price for easier navigation.
--Maka Chop price increase from 50 to 100CP as part of new initiative to remove purchases that can leave you with increments of 50CP. Got a small buff to compensate.
--Four new Drop In perks at the 100, 200, 400 and 800 price tiers.
--Black Blood's price was reduced to 600, replaced by "Big Top" perk as Drop In's 800.
--Student Meisters have three new perks at the 100, 200 and 600 price tiers.
--Soul Menace has its price bumped to 400 as part of an initiative to get rid of all perks/items and options that would leave Jumpers with increments of 50CP. It has been buffed slightly to accommodate the new price tier.
--Demon Weapons now have a small perk tree of their own.
--Autonomous Weapon option adapted into capstone perk of Demon Weapon tree. Effects adjusted so any origin could reasonably take it and gain the "Half-Weapon" perk, but it retains much the same utility as before.
--Witch's have had sweeping changes made to their tree which shouldn't disturb anyone's builds much.
--Levitation Perk reduced from 200 to 100CP.
--Magic Manipulation split from 400CP perk into two 200CP perks that accomplish pretty much the same effects as before while allowing others to purchase what Witches had access too. Also gives a bit of additional utility.
--Witch's now have two completely new 400CP perks and a new 600CP perk
--"Uplift" now provides examples of several canon Demon Tools

(continued)

--Demon Weapon Customization Section has seen sweeping changes as part of an initiative to prevent options that leave the Jumper with increments of 50CP. All options are now 100, 200, 400 or 600CP.
--There are seven completely new Weapon Customization options, one new 100CP option, one new 200CP option, two new 400CP options and three new 600CP options.
--"Don't Wanna Walk" and "Super Stylized Weapon Forms" have been combined into a single option that allows more fluff based customization.
--Elemental Manipulation Ability weapon option has had arbitrary limits on what could and could not be picked removed, allowing more freedom. Just pick reasonable elements that could actually be considered elements and we're fine.
--Special Ability weapon option has had limitation of needing your ability to be relevant to your form removed. The option has been rewritten to better show off available parameters, allowing buyers to purchase all kinds of minor abilities with this option.
--"Hybrid Weapon" and "Multipurpose" weapon options have been combined as a 400CP weapon option that combines their functionality. Additional purchases of the new weapon option are half price for additional flexibility.
--Mechanical Weapon Form weapon option's price reduced to 200CP as part of new pricing initiative. Effects left unchanged from 300CP version of the option.
--Alternate Universe Weapon Form restrictions mildly loosened for more versatility. One of a kind and innately supernatural weapons are still banned.
--Enhanced Mundane Weapon form's price reduced from 200 to 100CP. Effect left unchanged as the ability to choose a larger form than default during the creation process was judged to be worth less than other 200CP weapon options after these changes.

>>52025219
Waifuposting has always been a thing here, don't pretend it's new.
>>
>>52025225

(continued)

--Companion Section saw several changes allowing Jumpers to import companions as the Drop In origin. Many options simplified as a result of this change/decision.
--Werewolf Import, Bloodsucker Import and Canon Companion options each had their prices reduced by 100CP.
--New Import option allows you to bring in a personal weapon as a Demon Weapon. It allows weapons that were previously entirely inanimate to be picked as well.
--New Import Option "The Weapon Siblings!" allows you to split an imported companion into two companions under the Demon Weapon origin with identical builds, either as identical twins, fraternal twins or siblings close in age to one another.
--Item section saw minor adjustments as part of new initiative.
--Comfort Funds and Stylish Outfit options combined and free for everyone.
--"Beelzebub" replaced with "Sick Wheels". It's also a flying rocket skateboard but the decals and such can now be designed at your discretion.
--Witch Hat & Animal Familiar options combined under one option, free for Witches.
--Stolen Witch's Eye now discounted for Drop Ins.
--New 100CP and 400CP items discounted for Drop In.
--New 100CP items for Demon Weapons.
--New 200CP and 400CP item discounted for Witch.
--Several new notes, including a note mentioning a new change in how Demon Weapons function. Jumpers are now able to use other powers in Demon Weapon form.

And that's it, I think.

You don't need hours to read Fate lore, it literally takes minutes to catch up because of how simple it is. They spend hours pouring over power levels and yet somehow they can't spend five minutes reading somebody's translation. I dunno what to make of that, but it's pretty odd.

It's like how many common questions there are in /jc/ that can be solved by less than five minutes on Google, yet they repeatedly come up.

Oh, and before you say it-yes, I know Altera can be affected by simply blasting raw magical energy at her instead of doing a concept attack. I know in the earlier iterations Excalibur's planetary defence-capabilities were mentioned, and that it was called the "strongest" illusion as eary as Stay Night.

I mainly find it iffy because I also know that in the story arc where Karna wipes out two goddamn teams of Servants before confronting Altera himself, the credits worldline is golden-implying HE WON, and therefore his Prana Burst (Flame) and one of his NPs-probably Vasavi Shakti-could hurt her too.

...I am surprisingly not as mad about Karna pulling that off though, even though I realise it's illogical. It probably has something to do with what I remember him pulling off in the myths.

>>52025233
Good stuff, Nu. Arithmetic Magic appeals to my inner math wizard.

How big a deal is the anti-demon wavelength in-universe? Is it like the setting's version of how Negima's Magic Cancel, or "merely" something the main character dishes out?

>>52025248
M8 you do realise people who aren't hardcore Nasuverse fans don't know where to go to find good translations? I only just found out the other day why EMIYA got BLACKED by Kiara in one timeline.

Five minutes in google, I can understand; I've done it myself more often than not. An hour rummaging through Beast's Lair threads, crossreferencing with /a/ and then getting a migraine at the wiki's a lot more than you need to understand the average setting out there.

>>52025265
In the early days there was SOME pseudo-logic. Like the part where Arc is OP because planet, therefore kill planet=Arc depowered.

You're not wrong though, it's just that it's become especially blatent in the most recent Servant installments.
>>
>>52025218
Bring witches down to free to match other origins who get just as much or more.
>>
>>52025264

You may wanna read the Jump first. I dropped multiple notes and stuff here and there saying how the two 200 perks that came from Magic Manipulation when bought together will serve the same purpose as Magic Manipulation. Totemic, the 200CP perk representing the animal theme part, spreads the chosen animal theme to all your magic. Levitation being a 100CP perk makes it free for Witches. The 200CP perks are also free for Witches. Literally the only change budget wise is the origin costs a bit more and Levitation is now packaged in with it. Those who had Magic before will keep their magic and be able to make other magic animal themed.
>>
>>52025298
You can't rely on people to keep and use an old PDF as reference for your new one. The new one should contain all that functionality listed in the perks.
>>
>>52025272
You realize I found that link literally by typing in Beast's Lair Velber into Google and it was basically the first link on a wiki right? It wasn't even a Beast's Lair thread or anything, those guys take so long debating over language that they might as well hold parliament over it. It's little wonder why the Chinese teams finished their official rewrite of the lore book before Beast's Lair did. I think you've got a much more complicated idea of Fate lore in your head than what it really is man.
>>
>>52025299
Are...are you stupid?
>>
>>52025298
It's worth noting that you increased their price while you made everyone else not only cheaper, but improved all their perks too. There's no reason for witches to cost so much.
>>

I'm morbidly curious: What happens if you activate the Big Top in the Deep Cathedral from the Dark Souls 3 jump?

>>52025301

Because this conversation depresses me utterly, by making me realise we're both NEEEEERDS for having devolved into bickering over whose nerdlevel is the right one.
>>
>>52025298
Doesn't that mean witches get one less 100 perk than everyone else now?
>>
>>52025298
Those who had magic before need to throw out their entire build because now the points don't like up in cost. Great going, invalidating all those builds.
>>
>>52025272

Anti-Demon Wavelength is some hardcore shit in-universe. Only three characters have shown it off and they were all bad ass. While Maka might not have been the strongest towards the end, her combination of her Soul Perception being one of the strongest in the world, having Anti-Demon Wavelength and being the Meister of a Death Scythe would have meant the witches would have been real fucked if they hadn't conveniently made peace with Shibusen.

>>52025273

Also it opens other Origins and Builds to being able to buy their own variations of Witch Magic if they have the points to spare.

>>52025279

It's actually only a minor point increase, and they get Levitation as part of the package for free. 600CP worth of Freebies is real good.

>>52025295

Witches get 600CP worth of Freebies though.
>>
>>52025325
>It's actually only a minor point increase
It's a point increase that invalidates all witch builds, you realize?

And the issue is that this update gives so much to everyone else and boosts EVERYTHING about every other origin except witch, they're no longer stronger than the other origins, indeed they're probably weaker.
>>
>>52025325
>Minor point increase

Yes, did you? I can't say you did since you brought up something totally unrelated to bitch about when everything is already described in jump.
>>
>>52025305

I'm pretty sure I left most of the old perks well enough alone. Witches got new stuff just like everyone else, their old free stuff got better and Levitation is part of their free stuff now.

>>52025312

You don't wanna mix your sin with your madness, that just breeds sticky, nasty, rotten depravity.

Witches cost more now. Meaning all witch builds are invalidated and have to be thrown out.
>>
>>52025353
You didn't leave Magic Manipulation alone and now we're expected to read the old jump too to know what your replacement perks do.
>>
>>52025357

Of course if someone were to pay for a pass just to shitpost faster on /tg/ then they clearly have nothing else in life.

>>

Unless for some godforsaken reason you spend all your cp out of background, but that would be retarded.
>>
>>52025362

No you don't I explain it both in the perks and in the notes. Whatever you did with it before still works. Whatever new people wanna do with it, you don't have to go back and read the old version. I actually explained about what they do more now since details are spread across two perks.
>>
>>52025368
>I'm enough of a shitlord to get one too.

Not like I've ever payed for that shit, but I've heard people brag about that kind of thing before.
>>
>>52025374
It's a complete issue to have to throw out your build and anything you bought so you can come under the new price. Oh you bought something you could just afford that cost you 200 points? Well fuck you now, you can't have it!

>>
>>52025391

It shouldn't fuck with your build at all unless you were dumping loads of points into undiscounted perks.

>>52025402
>Except the end costs are the same.
No they're not. The only change is forcing in Levitation which costs you 50 before, and he increases the background price by 100. That means you have 50 points less total. The total is not the same.
>>
>>52025405
I think this is why I like Bodacious Babes. There's no fumbling around with wondering whether they're actually retarded enough to believe in what they say.
>>
This is just another example of why you don't nerf things in your update.
>>
>>52025408

Um, no? Levitation was a 200CP perk before. Portal Manifestation was Witch's 100CP perk. Where are you getting these numbers?
>>
>>52025417
Thing is there were only buffs. Which is why none of this makes sense.
>>
>>52025218
If you buy the Anti-Demon Wavelength perk, do you need to buy another perk to be able to do the Soul Resonance that ADW mentions you can heal madness with, or is it something you can learn?

Does the Soul Perception perk work through walls?
>>
>>52025408
>That's never been acceptable and you know it
By who? We have plenty of jumpmakers that have gone right out and said Grandfather Clause is fine for their jumps. Do you really care about this thread's opinion of what jump you use that much that you'd shit yourself over which version of a jump to use?
>>
>>52025218

Quick question. For the flying dutchman perk, is there a way to unbind your soul?
>>
>>52025423
I'm looking at a build and it's listed at being 50 after discount. Did you up its price before folding it in?

You're also forgetting everyone that might not have bought Levitation and is now short a full 100 points.
>>
>>52025408
Nobody but you really cares about build "validity"
It doesn't fucking matter. Especially not over something so small.
>>
>>52025430
Can you please stop being new? Nobody accepts grandfather builds in the thread.
>>
>>52025423
Please just ignore them. They're either shitposting or haven't bothered reading the jump before complaining, either way they don't seem to be worth giving attention to.
>>
>>52025429

Something you can learn, but purchasing Utility Meister makes it far easier. Also, just staying nearby or hugging someone for a while can help in a limited fashion without the whole Soul Resonance business.

Soul Perception works through walls, and can also work over exceptionally long distances.
>>
>>52025417
As if. This is only happening because somebody has a bone to pick and wants to stir up some shit. We've seen plenty of updates with changes and removals that have slipped past without a peep. Bee's just unlucky that he dropped the update while some guy was ready to pounce on it.
>>

>>
>>52025467
None come to mind. But he didn't nerf an origin. He gave it more freebies and made it cost a little more.
That's a sidegrade at worst and an outright buff if you stay in origin.
>>
>>52025483
A price increase is a nerf, anon.
>>
>>52025489
Not if you get more stuff out of it it's not.
Nerf is a pure downgrade. This is giving you more for a small price increase.
>>
>>52025474
Since somebody else brought up Dirge already, why not use him? He completely destroyed people's builds back in the day when RO was turned from a 20 page jump into a 200 page jump, and nobody bothered to complain. People only complain if they have a bone to pick.
>>
>>52025432

Yeah, it's actually the fairly simple process of going and collecting your soul. Should I add that into the perk or in a note?

>>52025439

Are you using the original version of the Jump? At one point Levitation was their 100CP perk and only discounted instead of free, then it switched places with Portal Manifestation since people placed less value on Portal Manifestation and Levitation got buffed to match its new 200CP spot. That was like update 1 or 2 out of 6 before this update, and update 1.6 was like, over a year or two ago. In this update Levitation was dropped back down to 100CP as Witch's second 100CP perk but I didn't nerf it since it honestly seemed fine the way it was.

>>52025451

It's alright.
>>
>>52023505

I made Kirche into Caster with this build
Strength: E
Endurance: E
Agility: B
Mana: Ex
Luck: B
High Speed Incantation: A
Elemental: Ex
Noble Phantasm (buffed magic wand, better with fire magic): A+

Took Mana Muncher, What Spiritual Form, and No Natural Mana Replenishment for drawbacks and still had to spend 100 points on stronger servant, but she wrecked shit all over the place.

Especially once I started using Tsukhime Artificer and FF6 Magicite Creation to turn defeated servants into Class Cards. That was a fun jump.
>>
>>52025452
Thanks.

Oh, the "Mifune Item Set" - the police tape should be a lot more than only 50 feet a day. Maybe 500? Otherwise the trick of using it to make a visible boundary around a battlefield would only be usable for very SMALL battlefields.
>>
>>52025506

>>

It's only under the circumstance that they become those things on your watch. If you prevent Crona from falling into Madness like Medusa wants, those two are perfectly fine and on the table.

Kid is also fine long as he isn't forced to connect all three lines of Sanzu and ursurp Death's role as the new Great Old One of Order.

Should I adjust the wording while I'm going in and making little edits here and there?

Roll to seduce was fine. It was never going to get more than one or two threads, and thread count isn't anything worth jumping into a shitstorm over. Hell, you could do away with the numbering and it wouldn't make much of a difference, we rarely refer back to a specific thread and archive diving is usually based on file names or trips anyways.
>>
>>52025676
So what do you call rulesfag and SBcuck? Burning down your house?
>>
>>52025645

I have no control over what you do post-Jump. I've told people in the past that if they themselves become Kishin post-jump it's fine, since going completely insane isn't a loss condition in other Jumps. If you elevate Arachne or Crona into Kishin post-Jump, it's fine. You did that on your own, and they weren't on that level when you got them as companions so those limitations in the Canon Companion option weren't tripped. Personally though? I don't think Kid would be able to connect any more lines past the ones he connected in-jump since he wouldn't be in the same dimension as Death post-jump.
>>
>>52025675
Just purchasing every perk in a single perk tree costs 1300 CP (with discounts).

The drawback cap with so many perks should be around 800 or 1000 CP.

Death's List - is this Death guy fallible? are people with evil souls redeemable? does it work in universes that don't have "souls"?
>>
>>52025717
Hey NuBee?

If I'm reading these Perks right...is it quite possible for me to, with a combination of Soul Menace, Strong Soul, and Anti-Madness Wavelength, literally dope slap the madness out of people or a witch out of following the Sway of Magic too closely?
>>
>>52025751

Lord Death is thousands of years old and has pretty great judgement. As far as I know, everyone who got on the list has a damn good reason for going on the list. Evil souls can certainly be redeemable, as Crona was at one point put on the list in Canon, after their big fall into Madness when Medusa reclaimed them and fused them with a Black Blood Clown, followed by Crona killing a Death Scythe, his Meister and a whole Russian City. Yes it works in universes that don't have souls.

>>52025753

You probably don't wanna Soul Menace anyone unless the goal is to cause internal bleeding, immense pain or death. Strong Soul + Anti-Demon Wavelength is a good combo that helps with soul therapy though.

NuBee, how hard would it be using only in-jump means to replicate the Black Blood (assuming that you purchased it) so I can give it to other companions?
>>
>>52025962

How do you mean replicate it? Like figure out the recipe and make it from scratch or just make more? If you're wanting to do it from scratch, Occult Practices in the Witch Tree is the ideal perk for that. If you just want more so you can spread it around, bleed yourself every now and then, wait for your body to produce more (it replenishes quite quickly, and that's without things like regeneration perks picked up from other jumps) then repeat until you got plenty of bags of the stuff on ice and do the procedure. I'd advise someone with medical training on hand since if you're wanting them to have as much Black Blood as the Perk gives or what Crona has, they're gonna need to get all their old blood drained while you're doing this, and I can't imagine that's an easy task.

You could always try bargaining with Medusa to learn how she makes the stuff too. But that seems like the hardest option.

Laputa jump is close to being done (Hopefully)
The big things I've been worrying about are:
Whether I should move prices from 100, 200, 400, 800 to 100, 200, 400, 600 (or some other price drop, not sure the 800s are worth 800).
If I should add more items in, as right now none of the background discounts have items that are the same prices.
And the final thing is that I split the four backgrounds, Villager, Pirate, Army, Laputian Descendant, up into 3 backgrounds and 3 origins and I'm not sure how well that works.

Hopefully I have all the descriptions understandable, with no typos.
>>
>>52026182
No offence but it's disappointing.
>>
>>52026192
Maybe if you put reasons why you think it's disappointing, or ways it could be improved, I might think your post is more than just low quality bait.
>>
>>52026228
It's disappointing for reasons that are largely unfair to this SB guy. We've had two Miyazaki jumps so far, so it's very easy to compare this jump against those and feel that this jump doesn't hold its weight against them. There's just a really obvious difference in terms of the effort put in between the other Miyazaki jumps and this one. The fact that this one lets you go to the other two jumps with a 0 CP drawback basically doesn't help either.
>>
>>52026270
What miyazaki jumps do we have?
>>
>>52026182
Why not add 600 CP perks if you want to keep the 800 CP perks?
>>
>>52026228
>>52026270
And before you scream interjump balance, it's not even about balance. The jump just feels low quality in comparison, even though Laputa technically has more to work with than Spirited Away and about the same as Mononokehime. Even the incomplete version of Spirited Away that's on the drive feels a lot more coherent and a lot more polished than this.
>>
>>52026292
There is no spirited away jump on the drive. There is one on dirges personal drive but not our jc drive.
>>
>>52026192
Not the jumpmaker, but "disappointing" isn't a helpful piece of advice. Now I could point out that the ordinary person and Laputan origin descriptions don't really explain what being an ordinary person or a Laputan is like in the setting, let alone anything to justify why the latter costs 300 CP. I could request some exposition for the key events at each date listed at the jump to explain why they're set apart. I could criticise 'A girl fell from the sky' for being overly vague in terms of the enormity of said plot hook, which might be a disadvantage in certain settings. I could question whether the hallucination 1-up thing is worth a capstone with its' limited use, as opposed to replacing it with something that isn't a 1-up but gets more mileage out of an 800/400 CP investment. I could question why 'ma and pa' aren't a companion option instead of a perk. I could complain 'mechanical knowhow' doesn't really explain what's so special about non-laputan technology that it probably wouldn't work outside the setting. I could question what 'pirate's luck' is based on, because it feels vaguely meta. I could ask what Laputan science can actually do. I could opine that "My true name is..." doesn't seem worth a capstone due to its' limited utility and seeming to be not something useful to an army officer who isn't a scumbag. I could ask just what's the difference between the Laputa and Goliath that their prices range differs so much because it seems like the former is just the latter with a few addons. Finally, I could ask what etherium is and does.

Oh, and I could recommend the 100/200/400/600 format because revisions or no, those capstones definitely aren't worth 800+ and I'm not fully convinced some of the items are.
>>

Like I said, it's probably an unfair comparison to compare one Miyazaki jump against another, but my opinion is what it is. It's not like either of these jumps are really that complex either, they're just much more fleshed out.

>>52026320
No, the rulesfags actually did manage to get Spirited Away removed from the drive. It just kind of went unnoticed.
>>
>>52026270
It doesn't let you go to them, just says that they're in the same timeline, so you might see some of the spirits that are immortal. And this is my first time even attempting a jump, which is why I'm asking for feedback.
>>
>>52026228
Oh, and also-at the moment it's not clear what Laputian spells or the empire as a whole can do that merits them being involved in the most difficult drawbacks.

Nor is it clear who Musca is.

>>52026330
Huh.

In that case I'm going to use their own logic against them. I for one consider these jumps to be polished and well-made enough for the drives, so if you're out there Brutus I'd like to recommend they be put right back in the Complete Without Images folder where they belong.

As opposed to, like certain pedantic shits, having no rational criticism beyond a hollow addiction to being contrarian.
>>
>>52026320
Are you being serious? If this is the way you feel then why arent you posting the pony jump or other SB jump builds here?

It is not on our drive, that is not an attempt to spite anyone it is a statement of truth.
>>
>>52026313
The problem is that I don't feel motivated at all to point out the flaws, and I already admitted that a lot of this is due to me hoping that Laputa turns out like the other two Miyazaki jumps. But in order to get to that, the jumpmaker would basically have to take what he has and revamp everything down to his writing. It isn't exactly what you'd really consider helpful advice.

If this was the first Miyazaki jump I probably would just overlook the jump entirely. It's not faulty to the point of broken, there's nothing in there so offensive that it demands immediate correction. Sure, some things come off as meta, but for the most part the problem isn't a matter of meta but a problem of low effort. You could put it as, the jump is so forgettable that it doesn't make me feel invested enough to help the jumpmaker make it better.
>>
>>52026331
Seriously? Take a look at those links that have been put them. If you can't tell the difference between those jumps and yours, well, you're the jumpmaker, so it's your call. From what you said on SB it seemed like you were pretty satisfied already.
>>
>>52026360
Because those are poor quality and/or banned sitewide.

>that is not an attempt to spite anyone it is a statement of truth

I remain unconvinced, and I stand by my recommendation to remedy that by putting it ON the drive you pompous, hyperbolic twit.

>>52026361
Well, in my opinion based on experience with similar WIPs that gradually got worked the kinks out of I just think providing actual criticism is more motivating for the possibility of it being made better than saying "it's bad".

I can't disagree with your observations, though. I just think it's worth at least trying to make it less bad than giving up at the starting line.
>>
>>52026349
You need to stop being so angry about opposing opinions mate. Just because someone is says something true that you disagree with does not mean it is a personal attack. Saying spirited away is not on our drive is true and sending people to look for it on our drive is a waste of time because it is not there, That is all I was saying. I honestly dont care about beirocracy or whatever bullshit you are going on about
>>
>>52026349
It honestly doesn't matter that much. I mean, we've had people use the jump for builds. I think even Yoro took the scenario when the rulesfags were still screaming that the scenario was invalid because the drive version didn't have it. It's only the complete idiots that would harass a person over using something from Dirge's drive.

Even when you ask them to pull a drive from his completed folder and point out the issues, they won't do it anyways. At this point they just want something to scream about.
>>
>>52026384
>Has no reason to be an ass
>is an ass
>calls people a pompous twit.

Wow you sure are a master baiter anon.
>>
>>52026384
The problem in my opinion is that the difference is too substantial. Part of why I thought the Spirited Away jump worked for example was because of the way the second CYOA was nested inside the jump. Can't really tell the anon to go make a scenario when he probably has no experience with scenario writing or even complex scenario systems, which Dirge is basically known for.

The other thing, atmosphere, comes mostly from language, but that's basically me telling him to go become a better writer before trying again. Again, it's not a really helpful solution.
>>
>>52026384
Could you go to our drive and find it? Telling people we have a jump tends to send them to our drive. Not some random offsite drive that is not even linked to our drive. I don't care if it exists but telling people we have it means it is easily accessable and the truth is the jump in question is nowhere to be found. Upload it if you want, get it on the drive, I don't care. But when you say we have X a person should be able to go to the link in the OP and find it.

Now fuck off with your pompous idiotic asshurt.

>>
>>52026456
I wouldn't have any problem with that myself.
>>
>>52026454
Well as I said already, it's not your fault. It's just a natural comparison that I end up doing because like I said, it's Miyazaki against Miyazaki. By normal thread standards, your jump is fine. We have plenty of jumps that are nowhere close to the two Miyazaki jumps that were linked as far as quality goes.

And given that it's your first jump I don't think it's reasonable to expect you to put together a 30 page module, which is essentially what Dirge does. You probably have no clue what putting together a scenario like how he does is like. I've read through a fair number of his jumps and I still have no clue what putting together a scenario is like..
>>
>>52026454
I think rewatching it to get a better sense of the setting's atmosphere might help in figuring out what to write about it. If you want to write better, write more and figure out what to discard and what to retain along the way but writing less won't improve the quality of your writing.

There really ought to be some advice about not writing jumps like that because I've never seen it turn out anything well.

>>52026457
That would be a good starting point, at least.
>>
>>52026457
It's not just a matter of fluff anon. Structure, aesthetics, the way perks work with each other, the way items and companions are arranged, how much detail is put into each section like drawbacks. Like I said, optimally I'd like a full fleshed out scenario too. Fluff is just the easiest thing to fix since you can add it into existing parts.

>>52026463
Most newcomers generally aren't the folks who would be interested in Dirge's jumps, if I were completely honest. He's known for doing obscure things, and on top of that his jumps often have entry barriers on them from length alone. He's basically one of the most newcomer unfriendly jumpmakers there is.

>>52026468

When you consider how much writing some of these people do, I think a lot of the time people don't really grasp just what "write more" means. I asked Dirge a while back, and he's gotten to the 900k word count point for jumpchain alone. For a lot of people writing even 50k is unheard of. When it comes to writing more in order to improve, it's a really serious matter.

His own fluff text is very easy for me to ignore, because he always concentrates it in the headers. Normally the Survey Team fluff takes up maybe 5% of his jump. For me the difficulty initially with getting used to Dirge's jumps was recognize what he writes in order to obfuscate things and where you can take his perks liberally. That along with the systems he experiments with are generally the more difficult parts of his jumps more than his fluff text.

>>
>>52026664
>let alone doing something I've always felt terrible about the results of
That's pretty normal for any creator I've seen, especially on here. Practically every jumpmaker I've seen shits on themselves, and Dirge is practically the poster child for self hatred despite us bringing him up so often.

If you're satisfied with what you have, it might be better to call it done, and use the motivation from completing something to move onto something else. There's nothing saying you can't go back to this in the future. You know yourself better than we know you. At the end of the day, not everyone is cut out to write massive amounts. It sounds easy at first, but it's not for everyone.

>most of the reactions to my attempt so far have killed any motivation I was feeling to do more for a while.
If you're a starting jumpmaker, you have to get a bit of perspective. Your timing isn't the greatest, there are factors that are against you to some degree, and your jump really isn't anything that exciting for everyone. Laputa is something that depends on nostalgia. For people who don't have that, they probably don't care much about the setting at all, so you can't expect them to care much about the jump either. Because of that, reactions probably won't be to your expectations.
>>
>>52026664
How much does it matter to you how long it takes really? Are you afraid of not completing it because it takes too long or somebody else finishing the jump before you do? Are you in a hurry to complete this in order to make another jump?
>>
>>52026594

On Pinprick, I suppose I can give you a choice of precision targets? Center Mass just seemed like the most catch all term since not everything has a heart or a head, even in the series.
>>
>>52025218
Is the finisher perk required to use OOC powers in weapon form?
>>
>>52026664
Sad to hear that. It looked interesting to me.

A lot of the reactions to this are comparing what you have to fuckin' Dirge. Which is just idiotic in principle, considering he basically writes his own class of jumps FAR removed from any others.

Honestly, I'd rather you continue polishing this, instead of trying to do anything like him.

Incidentially, most of the 800s look like they could be 600s, with only Laputan Knowledge being worth more (though I can't say much on LK, on account of the limited knowledge I have of it and the short description of the kinda stuff you'd be able to make).
>>
>>52026762

No, as of this patch you may use OOC power in weapon form where they make sense. A left a note in the Jump mentioning this (16 or 17 iirc) The Finisher perk allows you and your Meister to unite your powers.
>>
>>52026754
I feel like I want to be able to say that I've done something that turned out well, and that if I don't get it done I'll eventually lose all motivation for it and never get it back Just like my motivation for a lot of things that I enjoyed.
>>
>>52026792
He hasn't gotten a lot of reactions period. Aside from me, he's gotten basically two anons that gave him suggestions, one of them already being fairly comprehensive without the bias that I admitted to having. Even I told him that it's probably impossible for him to follow in Dirge's style, especially for his first jump. Doesn't seem like he's gotten any replies at all from SB either, so it's not like it's limited to us.
>>
>>52026760
That'd be nice. Aiming for center mass is all well and good for realistic marksmen, but with superhumanly accurate shooters it's not entirely necessary to go for the biggest target. Especially for a power based on precision.
>>
>>52026810
To you, what does something turning out well consist of. Are you looking to make a jump that's popular? Are you looking to make a jump that's remembered for quality? Is there some sort of personal bar you're trying to meet?

I'm not trying to hound you, but the thing is, you picked a somewhat niche setting to make a jump out of, at this time of the day you're never going to get much feedback, and it sounds like you already have motivation issues of your own. It doesn't help that new jumps often get forgotten after a short time either. You kind of need to have a proper mindset getting into this.
>>
>>52026821
Fair point.

But it's only been half an hour, and we're on page 10. Of course he didn't get a lot of reactions. Hell, he got a bunch more than I was expecting. Especially with the fairly comprehensive one being more useful than basically any reactions I've seen to a new jump.

>Hell, he got a bunch more than I was expecting
Were you literally expecting nothing at all. I felt bad for the guy, since I think this is his third try after SB ignored him twice.

Alright, I'll work it in then in the little update I drop at the beginning of next thread.

So, checked in today to see that while I was asleep Digger posted some teasers for a Double Cross jump. Just wanted to say, since I didn't when he was doing this: fucking awesome. That's going to be a fun jump, and I think Digger's writing style would mesh well with Double Cross's setting. Rock on, Digger, you beautiful rabbit-man, you.

I was expecting maybe one or two insubstantial replies, nothing actually helpful yet. Though I also didn't know he was ignored on SB.

Might I suggest a perk for weapons that allow your wielder to use all your powers while wielding you? Something like that seems kind of mandatory for being wielded as a weapon to be practical for any but the earliest chain jumpers.

The Finishers perk really isn't useful at all unless you are in a certain sweet spot for OOC abilities, you need to have powers that are strong enough to be worth using with soul resonance and weak enough that they get a significant benefit from soul resonance.

Get him to repost it whenever this thread drops and the next thread comes up. Though honestly with the reception for jumps lately I'm not expecting much more than what he's already got. Even Blade's Zelda jump went largely ignored for over half a thread, and Blade had way more things going for him than this anon does.

What's the time period, in relation to the spirit war?
What locations?
>>
>>52026961
Everything you've listed just seems to be the norm for a jump. Are you trying to get people to spitball you ideas or are you looking for something specific here? Are you looking for jump systems to throw in or what?

Sorry, I'm just feeling miserable, so that first reply of 'it's bad, no advice' set the tone. And actually hadn't realized what time it was.

This will be during the Kami War and the Locations are Towabara, Minamo Academy, Takenuma, Sokenzan Mountains, Jukai Forest, Mikokoro, Oboro Palace, and a free choice of course.
