How do I introduce romance between player characters as a player?
I'd like to try and make it organic so how do I play my character to let the other person know?

Let the person playing the character know before playing.
If people you know break meta they aren't worth playing with.
Ask them. "Hey. I think it'd be cool if our characters got closer."
If they agree then go ahead and start spending more time together IC and if one is a meatshield they almost exclusively guard the other in combat. Favoring each other with buffs, heals, etc. Then after a month or two they can fuck.
Are we talking between you and another pc? Or between two other pcs?
Because either ways, the best route you could take is kidnapping them, locking them in a sex dungeon, and waiting for Stockholm Syndrome to set in.
But what if I want to start a bromance?

you start a bromance by being the best bro to your bro possible

What if I want to start a cross-species homosexual relationship?

Then fap before the session so you won't think sexual thoughts.

Find an excuse to accidentally see each other naked. It works well in my Chinese cartoons.

Hit on them in-character.

>'Hey, I was thinking maybe our characters should hook up'
Talking about things like adults is the solution to 90% of tabletop 'issues'.

But nerds play tabletop games because they can't socialize correctly. Even generously allowing that only 30% of players break the hypernerd barrier and transcend normal social conduct, that's still enough to ensure one or two in every group.
Be awkward about it and try to hint it IC.
