I'd like to see some mecha that are "curvy" and have armor shaped to deflect instead of the sort of blocky modern military aesthetic, but that don't go into full on Tenga Toppen or whatever territory

Man I pulled that one from google. Just imagesearch GunHed. It was a manga by the guy that did Silent Mobius. There was an anime iirc, and then an 80's action B movie, the model's from the film version, it had three or maybe four different configurations it could switch between.
