All the sex they have and the joys of solving mysteries does more than enough to keep their endorphins up.
In case of emergency, forcing your brain to release endorphins is just a ruling practice.

I did point out that Thyrus are kind of a weak point in the plan, but 4 out of 5 branches of mages isn't bad for a whole sale plot. I just need to think a little harder on how to rob a Thyrus mage of their magic just long enough to kill them.

Excellent choice. Runner up prize goes to the Janitor from Scrubs.

>Be Janitor at hospital
>Watch a lot of sick people take months to get better
>Notice some wrecks who should be organ donors are fine by following morning
>nurses don't seem to care about their rapid recovery
>mop by their room's clipboard
>write down their names and addresses
>Also there's this dorky post grad going for his residency who also tries to be my friend

The matter mage who has replaced his organic body with a swarm of nano bots or liquid metal would take pride in never needing to eat or breath or sleep. He'd be like that AI from GiTS, foregoing all need for biological functions, he's completely rewritten his body into a programmable and rebuildable living metal form, he's better than a cyborg. He's that other terminator in terminator 2.

And like the the terminator, he won't stop until your fruit stand has been turned to Francium so the first of your fae tears to touch it will engulf the two of you into a violent explosion.

Fatal to anyone without a liquid metal body.

From page 110 MtAw
>Mages have a number of means by which they can open their eyes to the supernatural, seeing (or even hearing, smelling, touching and tasting) the subtle currents of super- natural powers at work in the world. While all mages have an innate sixth sense to detect the presence of active powers (see above), it does not allow them to identify or analyze such powers. For that, they need to enchant their senses with one of the Unveiling Practices of the many Arcana.

Any supernatural power leaves its resonance lingering behind.

The Thyrsus wouldn't know exactly what you did to the pineapple, but she would see the enormous red flag that is its resonance as easily as she would notice you've taken a bite already.

Being able to tell it's a juicy ripe pesticide free pineapple raised in an organic mulch of steer manure and pearlite with earth worm soil blend would be a perk of Thyrsus sight, but pro farmer market shopping is not what it's for.

You're still on a one way trip to pound town.

Moving along with the Changing Breeds rewrite. So far the most inexplicable thing about them to me is their intense WtA-esque butthurt over the urbanization of Man and the destruction of nature. I could see being upset at habitat loss, but they don't explicit go running wild with other animals, nor is there any sort of Gaia earth mother world-soul to defend from an evil corrupting force of the cosmos.

It falls really flat when you don't have metaplot justifications for why they're crazy assholes.

>>51833949

I was going to buff their healing and snip out any egregiously broken mechanics. The whole Feral Heart and Harmony thing feels a bit dumb though, Delusion is like a sillier version of Lunacy, and I'm not sure I care for them having a Death Rage-lite when none of them appear to be the children or blessed ones of Luna. So i'm thinking about getting rid of it entirely. Death Rage feels more like an Uratha thing and would explain why they are The Best warrior-hunters of all the shapeshifters. That or selectively limit it to predator breeds or cantankerous herbivores like Tigers and Bulls.

Can I get a Y/N on these Vampire/Mage Steam games without any creator drama? Has anyone run through them?
>>
>>51834720

I had a really mouthy Corax reporter and author who would travel the globe stirring shit. She got dragged into a Hengeyokai game and was nearly assassinated by a demon ninja Buzzard. Later there was a Tremere trying to summon a kaiju to destroy the Tokyo branch of the Beast Courts because of course that would happen and she stuffed a sun grenade up his robes. Good times.

Also she was thicc and had huge titties but I was too afraid to mention this part so I kept it to artwork I never showed anyone. They all assumed she was a skinny ass goth-wanna-be with glasses.

Pic sort of related.

The writing is terrible, even without taking who made them into account. It's absolutely horrible, and does not take the medium (texting) into account. People end up texting back PARAGRAPHS within minutes, supposedly while fucking or fighting.

The Vampire plot is incredibly stupid, with thinbloods apparently fucking around enough and breaking masquerade constantly but OH NO ALL THE ELDERS HAVE BEEN CALLED TO THE EAST for some reason so no one is killing them for it. Like, not even Hunters or anyone else.

The Mage one ends up with a DEEP CHOICE SYSTEM where you can choose to help put an upper cap on immigration in Sweden or not. For some reason, the Technocracy cares a lot about this issue, despite being in space and going to planets and shit.
>>
>>51838346
Torrent when? I´m curious enough to play it, but not to buy it.
>>
>>51838361
Yes, please, do not give your money to it. You can find enough screencaps lying around on the internet to honestly get a feel for it.

No news on it being pirated yet though. I guess you could try playing it super fast and getting a refund on Steam for it.
>>
>>51838346
Alright. I've never played a text-based text game before so I was curious.

>>51838387

Tentative yes. Vampire starts off okay and as an interesting concept, but it shoddily written and full of left wing agenda. Mage however is pretty great, and the politics are even handed, it's just quite short. About 8-9 hours of content, before running through to see what differences there are.

Mostly though, it's the first pieces of content for the OWoD, and it needs supporting if only so we get bigger budget projects, and they aren't exactly expensive.
>>
>>51838379
>>51838410

I've started the vampire one on my phone on my rides to work, I must confess I'm pleasantly surprised for now, but I think the medium plays a good part in it, and going though it on my computer would probably be less immersive, if you see what I mean (big wallpapers with text in the middle vs your phone screen).
For the record, I didn't knew anything about the drama before it happened, and I don't care at all about e-celeb bullies and sjw literally shaking.
>>

>>
>>51841989
........ you know, I'm actually wondering if I could write such an abomination and have it make sense when compared to the one homebrew tradition I did make. Maybe they get power from their condition...

(IF, and that is a huge if, I do end up doing this, it would probably be more otherkin with a sense of "Their madness is how they make their Ripple Energy". And I would make it full blow madness, no question about it.)

(again let me stress how HUGE the "If" is in that statement)

Mage one is cool, Vampire one is just ass and exceptionally misleading when your protagonist is some faggot thinblood who appears to not care about anything most of the time despite the traumatic experience of, you know, being turned into a shitty low-rent vampire.
>>
>>51839552
>>51839568
>Silly anon, WoD is about Europe now.
>the problem with the Mage one is that it is set in Sweden

A chronicle set in London, Paris, Berlin or some other well-know and very large international and cosmopolitan city would hardly be objectionable, despite the majority of WW consumers resident in the USA.

However, Sweden if effectively the ass end of nowhere with little to no international, cultural or even mythological import to the average player. If you're Swedish, this is not meant as an insult to you or your country, but there no denying there's a reason why Sweden is virtually never a setting for any media outside of Scandinavia.

>>
>>51842177
Yeah, the protagonist goes from "wtf is happening to me" to texting his friend "we're vampires and shit now so cool" in no time, there's absolutely nothing on him realizing the situation he's in and the dread or excitement you would expect from it.
I'm expecting better from the Mage one, based on the feedback I've read here, but it'll probably take some days before I finish it (unless this one actually pushes me to finish it at home).
>>
>>51834720
Two, actually.

A Stonebones Ogre, who was part of a Hedge pirate crew (we were essentially the Pirates from Hook, as changelings). His whole bit was obfuscating stupidity; he had high mentals and the best investigation and occult score in the game.

Two, an Invictus Nosferatu/Galloi whose deal was he was the heir to a shipping company in the Victorian era, fell in love with his sister, got shipped to China and then spent most of the rest of his unlife fleeing from the disciples, other Galloi, of his sire, who he ate. He ran a Kindred shipping company focused on moving Kindred, Kindred artifacts, and such like that.

Both were fun.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. It could result in a copyright issue, or lack of copyright protection, if they rebranded it One World of Darkness. Or maybe they just wanted to not mislead people. nwod is already Chronicles of Darkness so that subverts it there.

And I think you need to check out more Scandinavian media, you can do a lot without having to set things in cities of millions upon millions of citizens.
The Keeper of Lost Causes and Troll Hunter would make for amazing Hunter Chronicles, and Let The Right One In and a bunch of Swedish crime novels (And there are a worrying amount of those) are very good for inspiration.

I've basically copied shit from The Absent Ones and Evil (Although Absent One more so than Evil) 1:1 as Ashwood Abbey related stuff and been told it was some of the most horrifying shit my players had seen.
>>

He's mostly there to generate plot hooks and involve the players in the world more. Hes not planned as a long lived recurring NPC unless the players do something to intervene with his overtly murderous goals. Its for a more over the top Mage game but I'm not going to pretend I write characters up well.

> their resonance would be of self-aggrandizement and self-righteous murder.
Would this color their spell casting much? Or just slowly drive him down the path of least resistance, more self righteousness and murder?
>>
>>51842943
It would flavor their magic. Pillars of lightning for their Forces Spells smiting those who oppose him, summoning spirits of murder and delusion, giving people a distinct feeling of "That guy was right" when he casts Mind magic, that kinda thing

>>
>>51842943
Well, that makes it a little better. The character is more like a lightning strike at the plot instead of something normalized, I take it.
And it would most definitely color their magic. Big, broad strokes of color, strong invading scents, the taste if ozone and knowing you are right, with the confidence that follows.
>>
>>51843021
I'm citing Sweden's own statistics on the matter, specifically the scb.

Politifact are being retarded on this matter, by citing a number that is unrelated.
They count non-violent crimes in the total, and they say because the total crime is down then there is no surge.
However rape has gone only up since the mid 2000s, with a slight hold in 2015 I believe it was.

These statistics are literally published on the SCB's own website with documentation as to how they were taken, you can LITERALLY go there RIGHT NOW and read them.
>>
>>51843164
I will say this though, trusting Swedish rape statistics is problematic, because the way they count them is rather weird.

For example if I report an assault that happened in 1995 in 2016, then the crime is counted in the 2016 statistic, and the increase in sexual assault statistic are concurrent with an opening of sexual assault laws.

So of course take it with a grain of salt, but I'm going to believe the SCB's direct statistics on the incidence of rape over politifact citing total crime when I'm specifically talking over rape.
>>
>>51843035
>Well, that makes it a little better. The character is more like a lightning strike at the plot instead of something normalized, I take it.
Yeah, I want the group to explore more of the shitty local area to flush out more of the setting for them, someone targeting local 'big names' seemed a solid route to go down. I'm hoping the more run down parts of the city help drive home how 'out of place' the more centralized technocratic controlled 'school' that the game is centered around is.

>And it would most definitely color their magic. Big, broad strokes of color, strong invading scents, the taste if ozone and knowing you are right, with the confidence that follows.
I'll integrate these into his spell descriptions when they come up. Thanks for the tips.
>>
>>51843164

So i just finish the mage game app and got a couple of questions.

Does the menu on the upper right that shows you the spheres do anything?

And isnt it weird that a just awakened mage can go back in time with his phone? I though that was a time 5 spell.
>>
>>51843330
>And isnt it weird that a just awakened mage can go back in time with his phone? I though that was a time 5 spell.
Not really. Freshly awakening mages display all sorts of feats of power they aren't technically capable of. There is one freshly awakened Son of Ether who made a time traveling car. Its not that out of place.
>>
>mage supremacy
>>
>>51843305
Now of course politifact who took the overall crime rate and said that crime had gone down and didn't check the rape statistics (Which are what I'm specifically talking about) didn't speak Swedish, and you probably can't read either one of these so help you.

Here's the specific page you want.
https://www.bra.se/bra/brott-och-statistik/brottsutvecklingen.html

The red line is sexual crime.

I want you to check what way it's fucking going.

Now if that still isn't enough for you, here's some details on sexual crime specfically.

https://www.bra.se/bra/brott-och-statistik/valdtakt-och-sexualbrott.html

So rape is up, and rape committed by strangers is the fastest rising category.

Anon.
Trump is a lying douchebag, but so is politifact if they claim rape is down in Sweden.

>I think you need to check out more Scandinavian media,

I don't think you understood my last post.

The viewership of all of Scandinavian media is probably less than crap local reruns of most medium sized cities in the USA or UK. Scandinavian media is parochial, at best.

The discussion is not really about the quality of Swedish media (although you're free to bootstrap all of Scandinavia), but first, where it is in the zeitgeist of horror, sci-fi and fantasy, and second, is the audience for WW products remotely aware of it, do they care at al, and will it provide information and setting information they can relate to and actually want to explore.

It terms of overall interest and profitability, do you really believe a WOD: Stockholm or Malmo could ever compete with a WOD: New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, Moscow, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Rio, etc.?
>>
>>51843625
Yes, if its good. Which I don't give Dracula enough credit to pull off just from what I've read about the man but I believe its possible.
>>
>>51843625
Anon.
SKAM has a larger viewerbase currently than coronation street.

And if you're talking about the zeitgeist, I want you to think about what the most popular recent pieces of thriller media is, and there's actually quite a bit of Swedish stuff there.

And as for the idea that Shanghai would be more popular than Stockholm, maybe. But certainly not because of Chinese customers. WoD is a western phenomenon.

This isn't shadowrun, which has a large Japanese following. This is pretty much exclusively western.

... Kinda? The less it functions on established principles, and more on sheer gumption and "magick", the more likely it is to Paradox just like a Mage's spell.

So a Enlightened Psychologist could do all kinds of insane mind-bending stuff merely using some crazy "super-science" psychology, and perhaps a little chemistry.

You could also just use your power-suit to use Mind powers to blend in with a crowd, because Enlightened Statisticians proved that people pay less attention to people in business attire.

It's not entirely relevant, but my CofD interpretaiton of Australia is that with no native Uratha the Shadow is a fucking battleground towards the Outback, where native Aboriginals (and the Wise) merely tried to stop them killing all the humans, and thus instituted a great reverence for Spirits, hoping worship would placate them.

Then came settlement by Europe, and Vampires and Uratha and a lot more Mages, and everything went to hell.

Koalas are short-sighted and dumb, so if you get close to them they often won't notice you, then attack you in shock when you suddenly appear.

Not *literally everything*. Trees in a planted forest probably don't have Spirits attached to them, unlike a 1000 years old oak which probably does. Also, Spirits roam around; a generic tree Spirit might travel from tree to tree to gain strength from it, without representing any specific tree in particular. The biggest spirits we know of are Luna (Moon Spirit), Helios (Sun Spirit) and Mother Ocean (merely mentioned). A hypothetical Gaia could cover all solid ground but there's no guarantee she exists. The Earth might as well be divided among Spirits of tectonic plates, or different strata of Earth, from the topsoil to the planetary core. You might just have Spirits of different terrains, like Spirit of all deserts, all forests, all plains, all fields or all mountains. These might exist, or perhaps every scrap of terrain has its own spirit without a higher authority.

There he is!

Alright, my question was this: Temporal Summoning returns stuff to its previous states, right? Broken things become whole, old people become young, etc.

If the spell remains in effect long-term, would they stay that way forever? E.g., if an old man got his youth back, would he grow old again over the years, or would he stay that age for as long as the spell lasted? Would he be able to go to college & learn new things, for example, if he didn't have that knowledge at the spell's targeted time?

my Acanthus may or may not have hypothetically undone someone's coma without realizing it would also turn them into a tween, and this has become relevant

In Masquerade Vampires as Antediluvian reach power that are beyond comprension of any other supernatural being. Tzimiske can literally live forever and transfer his conscience to any living being. A random 1000 year old can obscure the sunlight or just endure it for a very long time, A Fourth Gen Nosferatu such as Baba Yaga can basically "reshape" an entire large region of Earth such as Russia using her own will while just randomly owning Black Furies. Malkav has basically Omniscience. Some Brujah can just go back in time and kill your grandma when she was 3, even before you could even be awaken/experience first change, good luck as a mage on going 500 years back to track him before the vampire is sired.

But a random 13th generation stands little chance against other Supernaturals, even do he can still do something if he's smart enough.

And they are not even the most powerful ones, just think of Caine who is kind of "protected" by God itself

It should just be "You're with us now, you little cunt" if the pack is older, or forced together by circumstance (or "You're a pack now, cunts" by an older, mentor-like pack in the area). I mean, werewolves aren't that complex imo, it's just alpha-shit.

No no no no no NO!

Jesus fucking Christ, why do you people keep repeating this? The Traditions are broad categories that cross ethnic lines (with the possible exception of the Akashic Brotherhood). The Dreamspeakers, broadly defined, are Shamans and animists, culture not withstanding. Mage splats are mostly ideological before they're anyting else. It is as possible to have a Scandinavian Dreamspeaker and an Australian Dreamspeaker as it is to have a Verbena who is an Igbo tribeswoman from Africa... and they do. An Igbo witch was the Verbena's representative at Doissetep as far back as the first edition of the game. It's not like Apocalypse wherein certain groups of shifters piggy backed onto different migratory ethnic groups.

If the top Mammon pylon has stopped acquiring, then they have failed. The Iron Pyramid is climbed in many ways, but always by passing ones' betters.
Maybe a new Mammon pylon is trying to usurp their betters. Perhaps some in the Mammon pylon have seen the knowledge of the Eye or the wisdom of the Paternoster? Is the Gate active, or have its guardians deserted their post by knives in their back?
Are their rumors of a Diamond cabal breaking apart to become part of the Iron Pyramid? Are they true or Seer propaganda? Long knives in the dark serve many masters.

They are betters in their region, and they are waiting for the result of Seer crusade in near region to fill up the vacuum of power.

>Maybe a new Mammon pylon is trying to usurp their betters.
They have one or two minor pylons doing their dirty work. I think those will try to rise up eventually.

>Perhaps some in the Mammon pylon have seen the knowledge of the Eye or the wisdom of the Paternoster?
This is interesting idea, but this pylon gets it's orders directly from Minister; Mammon has personal interest in this area. As power-hungry as they are, I don't think that members of this Pylon are stupid enough to fight each other. They have bigger enemy to care about.

>Are their rumors of a Diamond cabal breaking apart to become part of the Iron Pyramid? Are they true or Seer propaganda?
There aren't that many Diamond cabals in the area; more than a half are Free Council.

that's just not good enough, what incentive would somebody who finds out they're a werewolf have to sit there and take all the cunts and get bamboozled into what they would only interpret as a PSYCHOTIC DEATH CULT

Chris' baby-momma's PC in that podcast had a great idea of "lets fuck with the newbie and show them how vulnerable they are without joining our pack" before they got plothooked out of it. something that forces them together by circumstance is also a nice route, but could feel contrived if done poorly

No one actually thinks they have anything convincing in a legal sense, it just comes down to anyone who really gets into Zak's craw just so happens to get threatening e-mails from people and just so happen to get ID theft attempts and people trying to find out where they live, if not worse. This is a consistent pattern with multiple people having the same kind of story.

Either Zak is exactly right and bunch of sex-negative, crypto-conservative people in the RPG scene have decided that he is so talented that he must be destroyed by pretending to be stalked and harassed, a bunch of obsessive Zak fans are doing the dirty work without his knowledge and he somehow can't even make basic attempts to do something about it, or he's doing something to set this sort of thing up within plausible deniability, if not outright mastering the DARVO technique.

Even if the truth is in the middle, it doesn't look great for him.

There's clearly some kind of skeevy shit going on around that guy, and that alone should have been a red flag to not hire him for your first outing in an IP revival. That it has clearly put some sort of wedge between White Wolf and its major licensor at the moment is sign enough that Dracula probably doesn't know what the fuck he's doing with the franchise.

I'm currently playing the most well-adjusted Tzimisce Anarch in existence. She's the progeny of another PC from a game about escaped shovelheads running around trying to figure out what they are. She's an anarch because, well, where the hell else can she go? The Sabbat is a total non-starter and the Camarilla has the organized Tremere clan. She supports herself through a late-night monster-movie show that follows a presentation format.

She's also a bit of a killing machine. That game was run by a first-time GM who was COMPLETELY out of his depth and it went funny, funny places. He let our most twacky player make an abomination and be all like "LOL Stay away when I start to frenzy, guys" So I went straight for Celerity, Horrid Form and took Potence as an additional discipline because Former Ghoul. The bubbly TV personality was a dyed-in-the-wool werewolf killer. Now I have an absolute killing machine in the body of chinese girl who runs a mandarin language Monster movie show. Thankfully she has good socials and utility abilities, so she isn't all chainsaw, no mouth.

I don't necessarily think Zak is right in his summation of his opponents but I absolutely don't believe shit about what gets said about him. Like it's plainly not who he is, and the numerous people who *are* in the minority demographics he's accused of attacking, that he works with, are the evidence of that. Like the person he wrote this VtM game with, who is the primary reason why I was even interested in this VtM game. When Sarah Horrocks talks about or makes comics they are worth paying attention to, I am interested in her writing a game. And we get a thing now where non-trans people criticize the trans character in a game written by a trans person and based on an IRL trans associate of one of the authors. Because it has the same name as some other author, and does vampire stuff.

I've seen the harassment log of that one woman and to me it looks like both sides are trapped in some kind of outrage cycle. It's easy to see why Zak would take a numbers-filed-off complaint as a direct attack - not saying it's correct, but I wouldn't consider it harassment either.
