Series continued on after Roah's death. Part 2 of the anime had Kenshiro fight against Roah's older brother. Also it had the kids he saved and hauled around in the first part, they're grown up into teenagers. The girl crushing on Kenshiro hard while the boy is crushing on the girl.

Piggybacking on that question, has he ever clarified to what extent the powers grow? Specifically, I want to reduce the waiting time to even get a power with Complete Arsenal, let alone the time it takes for it to power up. Because as described you basically have 3 powers per fight, and if they get countered you are fucked.
>>
>>51802497
The actual powers you gain probably do not change its likely that Complete Arsenal grows by shortening the waiting time and time it takes to power up that >>51802736

Hey Jumpers, here's a question for all of you, probably been asked before, but what the heck.

When you enter a world with a definite story; where there is a definitive fate for the world and the people in it, do you think it's right to change the outcome that the people where destined to arrive at?
to erase every failure and victory, not only as if it never happened but making SO it never happened. Do you see yourself as killing the people that the character's become through their trials.

I know I do
>>
>>51802736
>3 powers per fight
>if they get countered you are fucked

As opposed to having just one power and being fucked if it gets countered?

Besides, you're a jumper. You should have dozens of different powers and magic systems and kung fu techniques to call upon at any moment. Not to mention a warehouse stuffed with enough weapons to make Gate of Babylon jealous.

It's been a while since I've done this, but while I binge Blade, I'm gonna be getting a new chain rolling and spam the hell out of it.

Tempted to make it a rollchain with veto power over obvious terrible options (unless I think it's appropriate).

Who wants?
>>
>>51802898
That depends. For Fate/Stay Night (Assuming that my in-character spite-filled plan I'm planning to do against the Holy Grail War in Fate/Zero via the Long War drawback doesn't fuck up canon enough to keep Shirou out of the Holy Grail War), generally I'm planning at least to take out Caster early and just kinda take her role as a villain without actually killing people, only LOOKING like I'm going to do it and being sloppy enough about my trail where Shirou and Rin can find me.

What I'm saying is...kinda. It really depends. Sometimes I actively fuck with canon because I can't stand the thought of my faves suffering or dying or the world going to shit just so some rando can grow as a person.
>>
>>51802898
No. Dat's dumb.

If I was capable of changing destiny, even if only via weird out of context powers, then destiny is, by definition, not immutable. It's okay to change destiny, talking about your destiny as if it's some personal thing that only affects you is blatantly wrong. Your destiny does not belong only to you, you share it with the people who care about you, and saying they have no right to change it is the highest form of selfishness.

>you basically have 3 powers per fight, and if they get countered you are fucked.
You just drop one of them, using the other two to stay alive for a minute, and then the renewed third power will likely be something that can help you.
>>
>>51802898
I have at least as much free will as the individuals in those stories, as such I am free to act in the world as I choose, restricted as may be by such morality as is either intrinsic to the world or my person.

When I did the Harry Potter jump I basically ran shit behind the scenes to keep Voldemort from ever coming back.

First year I enjoyed Quirrelmort's teachings until the night he was gonna start drinking unicorn blood, went out to the forest after him and murdered him with fiendfyre/plasma rifles.

Second year went to the chamber of secrets and used parseltongue/doormaker to send the basilisk off to an uninhabited earth where it could chill out and be available if I needed a giant murdersnake for anything. Oddly the diary never even showed up.
Got bored and decided to make a project of freeing Sirius. After lots of plans and ideas of varying complexity I just had my companion with Nullification fake having a giant fight with Ron and constantly glaring at him, then one time when he brought Scabbers to the great hall she used nullification on his animagus transformation while 'glaring' at Ron to reveal Pettigrew. Harry got to move out of the Dursleys that summer.

Third year spent most of my time dealing with assholes that wanted me dead because I took the prophecy drawback, not much happened around Hogwarts. Did attend the Malfoy New Year gala with my pureblood companion as a date where we discovered Voldemort was hiding out with them and attempting some sort of rebirth ritual with his diary and stealing magic from all the guests. Some fiendfyre and the basilisk put a stop to that and sent him back to Albania.
Since he wasn't following the script any more we then gathered and destroyed all the horcruxes while he was stuck as a disembodied spirit, which immediately killed him for real since he had nothing tethering him to reality.

And that's how the plot of Harry Potter got ruined, and Harry got to enjoy an awesome childhood hanging out with buddies at school, being spoiled by Sirius during the holidays learning how to ride flying motorbikes and pick up chicks.

He ended up marrying some American muggle girl. And all was well.

Huh, I thought it was some kind of all or nothing deal in regards to swapping them out. Still, the waiting time is the real dealbreaker for me. I like to have access to my powers at any and all times, without having to wait for them to charge. That's why knowing how much that waiting time is gonna get cut would be nice

>>51802902
My general opinion is that most of the time, someone who has mastered their one really strong power will beat someone with several medium-strength ones, even if they are adapted to the general situation. This is further enhanced by the fact that you don't even have any proficiency in the use of the new powers.
Also, I was talking about it in a context that assumes you only have that one power.

My plan is to basically play it up as a bigass shadow hydra creature as well as using my setup to pull an ebon dragon and feed myself power through deals and corruption of others. This will be a bit different for me as I am usually not a bad guy, but seeing as I have to worry about people trying to take me out this time and it being a generally dark world anyway I wont be seeing much peace as it is.

Maybe I can corrupt some of those foundation people? I mean I can be summoned and the myth means some people will figure out how to do it so good luck keeping me locked up now.

Either way I plan on using as few out of jump perks as possible unless I get in a bad way.

Ebon dragon is a wonderful role model isnt he?

The Ebon Dragon is both insubstantial and material at the same time, Yozi Body Unity makes the user count as whichever of the two would be better for what they're doing. So he can hit you, but you can't necessarily hit him. And while he's not the strongest combatant of the Yozi, that's like saying "it's only a low-grade nuclear bomb". He's still plenty deadly.

As for why you'd want to emulate him, his charms don't themselves make the world worse just by existing (with one exception, Memory Poison Master is a fucked-up charm). He does. So you can use his charms a lot more creatively than his impulsive fucking-over of everyone. You might even go for a "karmicpunishment" thing, where you only cause suffering to the wicked who deserve it.

Let me tell you a story about a journey without a point or a reason.

It's hard to tell where 'I' actually started, because I have two sets of memories dancing about in my head. One dream where I was a lower-class loser living in a boring, modern world and shitposting on a board I don't remember the name of. Another where I was a martial artist in training given the task of slaying a great Demon Lord named Kaldosh the Destroyer. Or just 'Bob' to his friends. He always clarified that shortly before killing someone, legend says. I liked the second one better, so that's what I went with.

I went on a great journey, the kind you'd see in any sort of fairy tale. I rounded together a ragtag bunch of misfits, had some laughs, shed some tears, shed a LOT of blood, until we finally confronted the Demon Lord. Then it turned out that he had actually died from choking on someone's skull about several months ago.

My party members were a little upset. That's all I'm willing to say on the subject.

But the true hell began when I noticed a key in my pocket. About six years after my journey, I suddenly vanished from my newly-built home, as though I had been summoned a second time. No old sage or cosmic entity greeted me - I was just shunted into a new world, like the wheel of Samsara had just began to turn for me before my time.

And that is the true beginning of this journey without a point or reason.

There are Fey in Exalted, and they're terrifying. Also known as the Raksha, they come from outside reality and are beings of living narrative. They have their own separate set of really weird rules, which makes a lot of people hesitant to use them, but if you can figure out how they interact with regular Exalted rules they can be really cool. The average Fair Folk isn't particularly powerful in comparison to the Exalted, but there are lots more of them and they have enough weird tricks that a smart one can mostly make up for it. Their powers are about creating real illusions and ensnaring the minds and souls of humanity, it's crazy stuff.

As for your original question, yeah Ebon Dragon and Hegra would be great for being a Fey. You might want to go for some Oramus charms, too, his theme is "things outside the realm of logic", so that's appropriate.

Well technically the concept of Jumpchain has "erased" my "story" by default, so-considering I don't feel dead inside because of it, nah.

>>51803345
To elaborate on this, as I'm fond of repeating the fact that his First Excellency denotes any action that opposes the laws of Cecelyne and Yu-Shan as a valid course of action means that DEFENDING THE WEAK AND INNOCENT and OPPOSING BUREAUCRATIC CORRUPTION are always things the Ebon Dragon's most basic power can enhance.

In fact, there's an argument to be made that out of the Yozis his charmset is the best for resolving conflicts with a minimal loss of casualties and human suffering. He has an entire tree dedicated to supernatural disguises, his attack perks are centered around halting regen, his First Excellency encourages you to act as subtly as possible-and MHM allows you to make /any/ social attack you want, not necessarily a destructive one. Nothing stops you, for example, for using Want Becomes Need to make someone feel guilt for when they could've helped someone else in order to induce a guilty fetish for justice.

That said, Exiled By Wicked Hate is pretty undisputably bad since it shunts someone you kill into the darkness beyond reality where only Ebby can interact with them. And Ultimate Darkness Internalisation is Ebby's attempt at learning necromancy, which draws from a force which actively brings about the ultimate destruction of everything.

>>51803540
>>51803625
Elloge would probably fit better too if you're the magical contract kind of fey. But Ebby's the one with actual Charms for him written out, so there's that.

We're talking about a setting where the average non-demigod citizen lives at a medieval level of technology. Just a random warstrider walking around would startle them.

that build just reminded me of it a bit
applying a rational approach to the HP world/enjoying quirrelmort's teachings/fixing everything are some common elements

>>51803645
Well, no more than any warstrider would scare people. I mean, it's a giant robot either way. But no, they have cannons. A magitech version with high rate of fire would get an "oh, how novel" response, but wouldn't really freak anyone out.
>>
>>51803696
Yeah, but those are things that are common to 90% of HP fanfiction. I don't know why your mind went right to HPMoR.

Smite Jump
Jump: 31

Age: (Normally don’t bother with it, but sure) 2100 years
Pantheon: Norse
Origin: Magical (100 CP)

Perks:
>Mind of a God (Free)
>Class Skill: Guardian (100+200 CP)
Sweet, now I have a weaker version of the “ENOUGH.” spell that doesn’t burn through most of my energy. AND I’m a lot more durable too. Neat.
>Class Skill: Lord (200 CP)
>Godly Craftsgod (600 CP)

Items
>Sign of Nobility (Free, Import my Blue Beaded Headband)
Now people understand me when I talk about technology or at least are very aware that I am super smart and they should probably listen to me when I’m talking about my technology.
>Noble Mortal (200 CP, Vash the Stampede)
Vash the Stampede
Origin: Drop-In
Perks
Jack (100 CP, Drop-In Class Skill)
Item
Artifact (200 CP, imported .45 Long Colt)
Now the .45 Long Colt can hit anything, spirit or otherwise. Obviously it’s not going to fucking kill Gilgamesh but it’ll affect him now, at least. This is going to be useful.
>Focus of the Gods (200 CP, Import Magic Gloves)
Sure.

Drawbacks:
>Jump Party (+300 CP)
Vash stop jumping. You too, Domon and George! For Benefactor’s sake you’re in GIANT ROBOTS, please stop, you might hurt someone or squish me! Lewyn, stop abusing wind spells that way! ...Game Boy, how is it possible for you to jump? You too, Colress? Dhaos, it’s awfully undignified to ju--MARTEL WHY!?!
>Broken Choice (+300 CP)
Of course, I can’t get a wink of sleep or calm, can I? CAN I?

I spent the jump trying to mind my own god damned business but every single god on the planet just kept trying to bother me and my fucking floating island. Sometimes it was because they wanted me as an ally. Sometimes, Loki would have shapeshifted into me and pulled some bullshit while wearing my face so the god in question would come after me.

In the meantime, I settled all the gods down and had them try to work out their conflicts peacefully. I asked the Chinese gods to help set up a multi pantheon bureaucracy of sorts, and I taught them ways to politely enforce the rules they made. But this idea took quite a while to catch on to the other gods. For most of the jump, things proceeded as usual with the constant fighting.

I had no desire in me to kill, only to fight like a blood knight for fun or try to gather followers to party on my sick floating island. The weather around it was usually calm, sunny, and temperate because of my weather magic protecting it. At first, these fights were fun. But sometimes these battles were not good-natured fun-times, but legitimate angry fights over petty stuff like stealing a god’s golden apples or something. I didn’t like those legitimate angry fights over petty stuff. A few gods shared my sentiments, but they were few and far between. I had more important things to worry about. Like making sure that asshole in the golden armor didn’t find me. Every time someone mentioned him, I made sure to show no interest or react in a noticeable way. I did not want anyone to trace him back to me.

Speaking of Gilgamesh, he was running around beating up the gods in the setting. I honestly wish I could have been concerned for my fellow gods, but by the point he showed up I really...didn’t care. Look, I may have been nice and heroic before, but at this point I was tired of the constant fighting. Let someone else deal with him. Leave me and my floating island alone. The gods would eventually get rid of him, since there was no way he could fight them all.

...Right?

Sort of. Except he mostly doesn't bother making you screw yourself over most of the time, just doing it himself.

And 'his own gains' is literally just screwing you over, and escaping (which usually doesn't seem to be helped by screwing people over). He's opposition, basically. Evil for the sake of evil.

>>51803540
Hegra's a pretty good choice for a fey theme.

Ebon Dragon... Meh. I suppose if you want to do lots of shadow stuff and screwing people over? Malfeas would fit the King part better, but otherwise I'm not sure what else to do either.

>Also are there any true Fey in exalted?
Sorta. There's the Fair Folk/Raksha... Who are sort of a cross between fae and chaotic hindu demons. >>51803625 explained them pretty well.

>I don't want to mess with anyone who may take offense at me calling myself king of the Fey.
Well, considering the Fair Folk eat souls and dreams, and are close to universally enemies of Creation... Loads of people will have a problem with that.

Ironically, the Fair Folk themselves probably won't (since they take grand titles like that all the damn time), unless you actually try to enforce that authority over them.

Depends on the situation, doesn't it? If they're 'destined' for doom, then I don't think anything I do can be worse than that. My presence can only improve things.

Then I learned that Gilgamesh was searching for me, specifically. And everyone figured that maybe, if they had me fight him, then one of us would fight and kill the other. In their eyes, it was a win-win deal. If Gilgamesh killed me, he might just leave (Of course, I knew that he personally despised the gods for an entirely valid reason, and he wouldn’t stop fighting them. But he didn’t say that to them and I didn’t feel like letting on that I knew who he was.). If I killed Gilgamesh, he’d get out of their hair.

It was a win/win for them. So they had Bacchus (The guy who I was the closest friends with) ask me to go fight him. I sputtered and laughed nervously, and went to get some more Honey Plort Wine without giving an answer.

And so, the gods decided to just knock me out and deposit me somewhere by Babylon for Gilgamesh to find. I could easily tell when someone was shapeshifted as my allies, so the gods had to sneak in and knock me out. The pain from a million swords jammed in my body woke me up, and I stood right up. Pissed as hell at the gods and him. The swords slid out of my body and clattered harmlessly on the ground, albeit covered in my blood. My wounds closed up.

“You're finally awake. I was getting very disappointed that I’d get my spark in such an uneventful way. I am quite excited to have to put effort into it.” Gilgamesh said, not really moving from his spot.

When my eyes open, I suddenly remember a few things. First off, my loser memories are my 'first' memories and that I'm somewhere back in my home world. I must have reincarnated and only vaguely remembered the details. The second thing I become aware of is that there are mutated humans with live spiders for heads around me. Dispatching of them isn't terribly difficult, but the fact one had a gun is…a concern.

I'm not sure how to feel about being summoned to this world, and I'm skeptical if it's actually mine or not. I've heard plenty about other Earth-like worlds by now, and when I post about this on the BBS, no one can figure out where I've gone or really hope to reach me.

There's no Demon Lord, King, Queen, what-have-you to slay this time. Just apparently a toxic water supply that causes spider eggs to incubate in the human brain before bursting the skull open from the inside.

At least this weird key gives me clean water to access. Even if I don't know where it came from. Maybe this is my cheat item…? Anyways, it looks like I took a piece of this broken world with me - I can know and do a little more than I could before, and I got some new supplies. Guess I'll see where this takes me.

“Okay, that’s it.” I growled. I was THIS sick of the fighting and being bothered constantly. In a flick of my hand, I unsheathed Tsundachi. Her proud blade gleamed in the sun. Ah, I had missed that feeling when I used her to physically fight. But this was no time for nostalgia.

“FINALLY you’re fighting him. I’ve been waiting forever!” Her voice echoed in my head. “Since when did you last unsheathe me? NEVER! You better make up for that!”

“Shh..shh…” I kissed her on the blade. “I’m sorry, honey. I’ll polish you extra nice when we get home. I’m sorry for not using you to fight in so long.” Gilgamesh rolled his eyes.

“That you have chosen to avoid me and not even approaching me until this very moment is frankly, an insult. I grow impatient with having to chase you constantly. I will simply retrieve what is mine.” He aimed a sword at me. “That spark right here, which rightfully belongs to me.” He then violently plunged the sword through my chest. I just stood there on the spot with the sword jammed through me, fuming at him. You’re probably wondering why I can still stand up from getting a bunch of swords plunged through me. It’s a mix of G Gundam UG cells and a million magical spells woven in my body, keeping me alive. Of course there IS a way to kill me, just decapitate me, but he hadn’t figured it out at the time.

I glared at the blade sticking out of my chest. I pulled it out and threw it at his face. Gilgamesh stepped aside to dodge it.

“You’re not getting it. Fuck you.” I growled. I charged at him with Tsundachi, and the two of us begun to sword fight right there. I was too fast for him to try to hit me with a flying sword, so I actually got in his personal space. We were pretty evenly matched for the most part. Our swords had locked together, pushing at each other.

“Given your cowardly ways, I never thought you had any fight in you.” He commented, panting heavily. He had a smile on his face. “Perhaps this won’t bore me so much, after all. Well done.”

Finally, Gilgamesh had knocked Tsundachi from my hands, because he was still physically stronger than me. I leapt to grab her. Maybe this was because I hadn’t really been practicing in actual, intensive combat with Tsundachi. Usually in fights I’d just pull out Sturm Bolide or just use Tsundachi’s huge fuckoff powers. Or just shoot lightning everywhere. Close quarters combat generally was not my specialty, even if I was good at it. In some ways, this was similar to Gilgamesh’s situation. We stared at each other, panting heavily.

“Fuck it.” I said, quickly hefting Tsundachi in the air and blowing up Gilgamesh on the spot with her power. He...seemed gone. In fact, he was gone.

The Benefactor was, however, not happy.

And she’d find a way to rectify how easily I got rid of him in the next jump. Oh yes, she did. She took me back to a place I hadn't visited in a while.

The powers are left at a vague upper-medium level of the average parahuman. I'd say canon characters like Bitch, Aegis, Browbeat, etc are good examples. Good powers that are gonna be a solid asset in encounters but aren't the kind of things which make you the major deciding factor in fights. Aside from the fact that you have three powersets instead of one like most parahumans, and with time can swap them out.

As far as growth the time it takes to swap slots out lessens, as does the time it takes to get them up to speed. The powers themselves will be beefier over time as well.

Remember that the kinds of powers you can get are basically completely freeform as long as it's within the guidelines and the nature of parahuman abilities, so you technically can get any kind of power imaginable within the limits of the power.

Given a truly massive amount of time that isn't really going to be relevant in-jump or even for a looot of jumps after you might start to slowly get new slots. We're talking massive amounts of time and use though.

The bulk of the powers growth is gonna be in the powers you actually GET from it being better, and Complete Arsenal is so versatile it's gonna effectively grow slower than other powers in Worm. You're trading in raw oomph for unlimited versatility within certain parameters.

Alright, it's official. Something is doing this on purpose. That deal I made in my home world was apparently a long-term arrangement I don't have a say in, in exchange for a shiny new set of powers. Seems be timed by the decade, as well. My BBS buddies theorize that either my journey will go on to an end point…or until I die. Comforting. Anyways, war seems to be erupting on all sides here and some monsters are finding their way in through a Breach. Standard invasion plot, got it.

I guess I can roam the land a little and just break these monsters over my fists. I have a sword if I need to mix it up a little, and a horse (or car) for easy transport. I have no need for faction warfare or politics, but it seems allies I happen to need flock to my side even as I just drift from town to town…

A drifter, a wanderer, and a road warrior. They don't call me 'the hero' much anymore, but I feel like that fits me best. No sense getting too comfy, anyways.

Worse is that he has some truly repellent viewpoints, like in a shortstory he wrote, in the distant future, where nonconsensual sex was legalised.

Oh and did you hear about the rationalist 'retreats' he was asking funding for, amongst other things.

There was no rationality or humanity fuck yeah involved.

Voldemort was pretty chill about us murdering Quirrelmort when we saw him at the Malfoys later on, since he thought we were really clever for solving the mystery of where he was hiding out while Dumbledore and Harry were unaware (we hadn't, I just wanted to go to the party to troll Malfoy and hunt for the diary since it hadn't shown up in second year, seeing big V surprised me as much as anyone)

He offered to let us rule with him. I made a quip about getting Australia before opening a portal to where the basilisk was hanging out and siccing it on him while my date fiendfyred the diary.

I guess I can do what I've always done and follow my plot radar until I find some adventure…?

Neuromancer (300cp, Discount Gearhead): You’re a savant when it comes to programming software and code, but that isn’t your real specialty. You’ve mastered the arts of interfacing machines and the human mind, able to both design and build things to seamlessly interface with the human nervous system and the actual consciousness housed within it. Building an implant or accessory to let people access the net with just a thought wouldn’t be difficult at all, neither would making sure that a cybernetic connects so seamlessly with the user’s nervous system that it feels more natural than their original arm. Combined with your programming skills, full immersion Virtual Reality is within your grasp. You’ve bridged the gap between mind and machine, it’s up to you to discover where you go with it from here.

Well, I'm being a fool.

As long as man has desires that grow greater than even the vast cosmos, war will rage on.
In this world, that truth has been expressed in the most unquestionable ways. 4 empires, thirsty for mineral wealth and an even greater control over larger parts of these various star systems, battle it out again and again in the fierce war. Lives snuffed out like candles amongst meteor belts and over planets with precious gasses and minerals to further fuel the ambitions of their ruling elites, all the while the disenfranchised and angry at this state of affairs turn to rebellion and piracy...This is a world where those who pilot the Vanguards stand at the edge of the fiercest and deadliest battles human history has known. Death pours down on them with the ease and quickness of raindrops, but those who can dance in this rain and come out dry will know a glory like no other.

Speaking of fiction from my youth, I wasn't quite expecting Spyro the Dragon of all places to have a world I could enter. Even moreso that I'm one of the few things human there. That is, the only one, unless you could the other bipeds. The novelty wears off pretty quick when everyone gets used to my presence, though the locals felt leery of me and my no-nonsense attitude. Terriermon would be my voice for the most part, by virtue of being adorable.

…what? I'm just happy I have someone who came along for the ride. It's not like I need to subject more people to this random chain of worlds, but Terriermon gave me a really sad face and outright begged to come along. We had worked together for a whole decade last world without any major incident or problem, so I couldn't bring myself to just say no.

Anyways, I mostly act as sort of a guidance counselor and occasional fighter when the plot calls for it. I can suplex the average-sized dragon in this world without much trouble, so most threats just kind of…aren't.

One thing, though. My newest set of abilities don't make any real sense considering my personality and actions so far. So whatever is choosing these 'power-ups', it's either at random…or its waiting to see what I do next with these. Troubling.

So I had appeared in my usual moth form. Aaaand...no one could see me except for this little kid. Okay. Cool. I can dig being an imaginary friend! It’s a nice change of pace, actually…

Poor kid was socially awkward and had a pretty shitty life. It reminded me of my own before actually starting this chain. Almost too painfully. In fact, this kid was very similar to me when I young. He had...shitty parents, and not only that, he struggled a lot with friendships. He just wasn’t exactly born with a typical brain, you see, and had difficulties with social skills. He was a good kid, though. Even if he was too blunt sometimes and struggled about talking about most topics other than moths. He dearly loved moths and would endlessly consume books about moths constantly. Maybe that’s why I appeared in my usual moth form. That was okay, I liked moths too!
>>
>>51805067
Whenever there was a moth book he wanted but he couldn’t have, I usually took out the Book of Many Possibilities and copied it for him to read. I would wait for his parents to leave and hand the book to him. Later, I would scan and copy the book in a scanner in my warehouse and use magic to bind it up and keep it in a library in the warehouse for him to read. He wasn’t allowed to take it out. I didn’t want his parents thinking he stole it and getting mad at him if they found it.

His parents were concerned about him not having any friends, so the duty fell to me to try to get him to make friends with others. Else he’d be sent to therapy, and even though the kid desperately needed therapy because of his shitty parents, it would probably end my chain. But the kid was pretty scared of everyone else, and I knew that I had to help him out with his anxiety before he could start making friends.

Fortunately, I could act as a therapist. I knew a lot about how people worked and how to help console people. I mean, I didn’t want to say I was a professional, but frankly I knew a lot more about raising kids than his parents did. I had a few kids myself, actually.

And so, I told him very nicely to keep what I would show him a secret, when his parents had left him alone in the house one day. I opened a portal in front of us, and I let him in the warehouse. I took him to a brightly lit room. The grass crumpled under his sneakers, and he stared in awe at the bright flowers and falling angel feathers. It was a sunlit room. I had a seat for him for him to sit in. It was here that I started speaking to him. We would have short therapy sessions. Not too long, since his parents might catch on that something suspicious was going on

>>
>>51805083
Sometimes I’d get pretty emotional during these talks, because usually it reminded me a lot about how I also struggled growing up. Although I couldn’t be unhappy around the kid.

Eventually, he started making a lot of friends who liked him. I watched him grow, and eventually he decided in high school to study moths. I would help him study, showing him flash cards and finding other stuff for him.

I was proud of him, when he finally got accepted to a college from high school. And on his sixteenth birthday, at the end of his party, I started to fade. Sad, happy, or proud tears, I didn’t know. Maybe it was because I wouldn't see him again.

But at the very end, I didn’t have any regrets with how I raised him.

What's the perk that allows you to 'fuse' items with your body?

Not talking about the ones that you need to 'consume' the items.
>>
So /JC/, I'm a little stuck here.

I'm in Cardcaptor Sakura with Tomoe Mami and am currently crafting my version of the Clow Cards for her, though I'm not sure if they should be bullets instead...

Anyways, I need a theme for her Magical Girl Power up, something that matches or even evolves her Concept of Ribbons and Guns. Any ideas?

Was thinking of just doing straight-forward Conceptual Bullets that could layered on top of each other to create a spell (think multiple shots creating a more intricate spell circle until she stops and the spell activates). Coming up with an arbitrary number (looking at 52, 60, 80, 88, 100, and 108) of concepts is a little tiring.

Also thought about using Buddhist or Shinto themes, but that's been firmly, VERY firmly, taken by another companion.

Also thought about being lazy and cribbing the Clow Cards, but I quickly slapped myself out of that. If anything, I should take that system and make it better than Clow Reed could have ever imagined!

But, yeah, that were I'm at. Does anyone have any suggestions?
>>
>>51805138
Um, Assimilation from Claymore? Don't know if that counts as "consuming" though. There's also something that doesn't affect your "real" body but allows you to form a technological "shell"... Forgot what it's called.

>>
>>51806020
No that's about what I meant, aye.

Keep in mind though given the nature of JumpChain it's not gonna be as easy as the game makes it out to be. Try picturing someone trying to clustertruck in real life. That’s why I made the 5-minute window - normally the levels can be cleared in significantly less than that, but it’s not taking into account a myriad of factors.
>>
>>51805982
>Q: How long is Each World?

>Q: How Long will the gauntlet take without drawbacks?
>A: However long it fucking takes for you to not be a screw-up, but it should not take more than a year.

So, technically, you could do all 90 levels in about 225 hours, or a little more than 9 days. If you do it utterly perfectly on your first try.

Hmm for a non aligned perk tree how about something with John Constantine? Perhaps something to do with Plastic Man. It'd mostly be centered around keeping a low profile or tricking both sides at once and getting what you want. You could also possible do something with Highfather, like defusing a situation.
>>
>>51806166
Leg to Stand On gives you resistance to fall damage. I don't know if I missed it, but is there anything that allows you to jump as superhumanly high/far as the average clustertrucker?
>>
>>51806200
What happens to the Trench if you jump somewhere other than Earth? It should really just be the deepest part of the planet you start on, rather than the Marianas Trench specifically.

Companion Import implies it's 8 for 50CP, but you probably intended that it be 1 for 50CP, up to 8 times.

NAAAARGH should be +100CP, the price for minor annoyance drawbacks like it is.
>>

DB and DBZ were made as non-endjumps, S:tAS came out with a Superdickery perk, some drama as usual, and an absolute shit-ton of new jumps were made.
>>
>>51806200
It might be better if you included the racial power in the race itself, rather than offering those races a free purchase of the relevant powers. Some of them have powers that aren't listed.
>>
>>51806200
Looks really good. One nitpick is that it seems like it could have done well with a intelligence perk. Sort of a Lex/'evil' counterpart to Bat's planning. Nice job though.
>>
>>51806166
> You have to complete each level in five minutes.
Okay. So, 90 levels, times five, that's 450 minutes, or about 7.5 hours for the jump in total?
>>
>>51806405
I know they have flight at supersonic speeds, but in terms of flash-like movement I didn't think of them that way.

>>51806415
Possibly. The Drop-in capstone was modeled after Constantine.

Didn't think to give them that much emphasis because the vast majority of characters ended up taking a side at some point. Might do something around Highfather, even though year 4 wasn't that good.

>>51806421
Will add that on about the Trench.

Will fix that note on companion import.

NAARGH is something of a meme option - neither totally positive nor negative. I mean, /co/ would tell you - injustice wouldn't be injustice without NAAARGH popping up every 2 seconds.

Superman at least is shown to have Flash-like movement. And while he is superior to everyone else physically, he isn't quite fast enough to blitz people in the 800 cp tier, suggesting that people on par with Diana have really good reflexes on top of flight/striking speed.
>>
>>51806533
Yea year 4 wasn't the best. I've not properly read through the jump, I'm rather busy. But there could be some perks to be made from the Gods. Both old and new. It isn't completely needed it just seems outta balance that you have to chose a side. Although that could just be ignored depending on the person. It is mainly a fluff thing after all.

The races are a bit unbalanced.
Martian>Amazon>Czarnian>the others*

Martians are about on par with Kryptonians, being of similar strength but with both more abilities and a more common weakness.

Amazon's (if based on WW not a standard Amazon) are as stong as Martians/Kryptonisans in the flying brick department but lack their other powers. Would be equal to those races if the race included WW's combat skills.

Czarnian's have equivalent strength and durability to above but just like amazons lack their other abilities.

The rest* are just plain weaker than the others and just shouldn't cost as much the previously mentioned, either they should cost less or the above should cost more.

*Except for Inhibited experiment, not sure where they stand since they are stated to be weaker than the only canon example.

In terms of weaknesses - martians lack the insane durability of Kryptonians, reflected in how I haven't given them any durability perks.

>Would be equal to those races if the race included WW's combat skills.

in jump:

>these warriors also possess a great deal of skill and training in combat – making them extremely formidable foes.

>The rest* are just plain weaker than the others and just shouldn't cost as much the previously mentioned, either they should cost less or the above should cost more.

Well, the atlanteans have a remarkable set of utility abilities, such as elemancy and creature control.

>Also, since Injustice is a fighting game based on comics, where pretty much all conflicts are solved by punching, it seems like there should be some basic combat skills included somewhere

A good amount of it is also powers. I do get the feeling that you're right, though - just not sure where to put things like that.

>>51806784
>So an uncapped comicbook green/yellow lantern ring is 100 CP more expensive than running up to 200 mph...

Only if you have the proper discount - 50% off can be pretty killer in a lot of situations.

Should I price either of those differently?
>>
>>51806533
>I tried to describe them in both of those areas - the race and power sections. Which ones did I not list in either?

Amazons: The racial description makes ti seem like they are normal amazons as it lists the capabilities of a normal amazon warrior, the powers section however gives them WW style powers. The "extreme tier of strength should be offered to them as well for free instead of a discount if it is supposed to be Wonder Woman based, she is as strong as Superman.

Martian: Martians have heat vision similar to kryptonians, super breath (like frost breath but just the devastating winds without the ice), Telekinesis, super speed (though somewhat slower than the boy scout and a lot slower than the Flash), and extreme durability (which is bypassed by fire yes).

Okay in the fairness of everyone and because goddamnit there's like 200+ characters in this franchise, i thought I'd poll everyone for each tier of character in granblue to do at least a basic summary of a select number for Companions for the Jump so at least people will have the jist of a handful and then look up the rest, so this is all of the R tier characters. Progress is still slow on the jump but i thought i'd at least get a frame of reference of interest

Hmm. Not sure what to do here.

But I can totally say "Not in injustice" to the other ones though. And I will for balance purposes, sorry senpai.

The super speed option doesn't need a price drop as much as it needs a buff (a big one) and to be included in some of the races. It should also have any reference to the speedforce removed, with that potentially being put in a significantly more expensive option.

All signs point to this being comics level, especially what is shown in comic tie in. Since everything else seems to be comics level MM should be too, though removing Martian entirely might be a good solution considering how little he appears in Injustice as a whole.

>>51807020
There are several points in the comics where Barry is shown to be considerably faster than Supes - most notably, when he prevents Batman from being captured right in front of Supes and than just outright quits.
>>
>>51807062
That's not bad for supes, tho. Barry's been shown moving at speeds approaching Mach 40000.
>>
>>51807107
In the comics. There were points in the game - such as when he was going to warn the insurgents - that he was only running at mach 1-2 on the road.

Point is, comics are the most inconsistent thing ever in terms of power levels.
>>
>>51807004
>I tried to make it so that regular amazon powers were given for free, but that WW-tier stuff was only discounted.
Then it should offer only a modest buff to physical abilities and a high level of combat skills, also it shouldn't cost anywhere near what the other races do.

>>51807127
The thing is that Injustice is at comics level, this is shown both in the comics and in the game. Barry also doesn't move at full speed all the fucking time either.

It doesn't have doomsday's strength, adaptability, or regeneration.
Why have a doomsday option that offers none of doomsdays notable powers?
What's the point of offering this at all?

Yeah, it's pretty clearly shown in the game, too.

Question, how do Kamen Rider suits work? What I mean is, from what the wiki tells me, taking on Kamen Rider form enhances your strength/durability/speed/jumping range/etc. But does this scale? Like, for example, say I could already punch someone with one ton of force. Would using a Kamen Rider suit that would normally allow me to punch someone with five tons of force now allow me to punch with six tons of force, or would it be five tons of force like normal?

>So what is the high danger rating based against?
There's a very high chance anyone becoming directly involved with the main cast will get into ship-to-ship combat.
There is the very real chance that anyone in combat might be hit with a graviton weapon or a corrosive torpedo (which seems to disintegrate spherical chunks of the target, rather than exploding in the traditional sense). That's the kind of damage that doesn't leave behind anything for a regenerator to come back from.

Possibly. I might just add the durability and leave it be - fire is a pretty obnoxious weakness all on its own. I might increase its price relative to the other races. Not sure.

Injustice is a series/game that displays mainline power levels, some of the options in the jump reflect that while others do not.

If you want to do things so that the jumper doesn't have access to the big stuff that is fine.

If you want to do things so that the jumper does have access to the big stuff that is also fine.

But you can't have some of the options display full mainline comics power while others are lesser versions priced as if they were full strength.
>>
>>51807306
Read it fucker!
>>
>>51807213
It should add, yeah. The suits are strength-enhancers, not strength replacements. It's been shown pretty consistently that the Rider's base form being more athletic and combat-capable makes them stronger when they transform. The exception might be "suits" like Kuuga or Agito, who actually physically transform into their Rider forms. Those aren't costumes, that's their skin. In those cases, it would probably count like strength acquired from an alt form.

Journal Entry # 7834649

I can’t believe it he is really gone. Reginald is gone. Sacrificing himself to protect me from one of the princes of hell. We managed to fight him off but Reginald took an attack for me that tore him in half. Before he died he asked me not to cry, he told me that in saving my life he had fulfilled his and that he didn’t regret any of it… I can’t stop crying… he won’t respawn for some reason what’s going on?

Journal Entry # 7834769

Oh God Ami and Stheno are gone… things went real bad in that haunted house… things got crazy and before I could do anything it had murdered them…. More people I love gone…. I can’t do this anymore. I need to find a way to bring them back.

(To be continued...)

Journal Entry # 7834649

Oh god no! Peter, Spiderman he saved my life at the cost of his own… I was dealing with some people I knew I shouldn’t to try and bring back my dead companions. Things went bad… very bad. It turned out to be a trap. I can’t do this anymore… I have sent away the rest of my companions. I just don’t know what to do any more…

Journal Entry #7834730

I managed to save the world again. I stopped evil, saved lives at the cost of other lives. I have tried to distance myself from people but even casual acquaintances in this world seem to fall victim to my touch of death. I don’t know why this is happening, I have heard something about the cost of magic or such nonsense. As if years of training and hard work weren’t enough. Almost all of my magic comes from outside this world but for some reason I am being punished for having magic…

I don’t know why she changed the rules. I mean it was bad enough that my companions could die when they would return but now… I want dearly to retry the wish spell to bring them back but I remember how my desires were twisted the last time I tried it… I can’t do that again. I can’t go through that again.

Part 1

Magneto sat back at his desk as he finally closed the journal and sighed.
“I am sorry lord Magneto, we had no idea anyone was near the rebel base.”
Magneto merely nodded “So you say this girl, this… jumper managed to destroy a dozen Sentinels including the one with the nuclear warhead in it, with one blast of energy?” He asked.
“Yes.”
“And she and her group were killed in the resulting blast?”
“Yes sir.”
“Well I would consider that a stroke of good luck. Have our people get some hazmat suits and scour the area for remains. If you find anything take them to Sinister and have them examined, if we can learn anything from them great or perhaps we can create some sort of super soldier serum from her genetics.”
“As you Command Lord Magneto.”

Part 2

“What do you mean I died?” asked Karen anger creeping in to her voice.
Her benefactor; a being of golden white light hung in the air. “You died, one of the robots you destroyed had a very powerful bomb in it.” She answered calmly her soft voice
“You mean the ones you dropped us right in front of; The ones that began attacking just as we arrived in the world?”

“Your location was determined randomly.”

“You didn’t think to maybe to exclude any areas of immediate danger?”
“Danger is part of the entertainment; it is the risk of death that makes it interesting?”
“So did you enjoy it? Did you enjoy watching me suffer all these years,. Did you enjoy watching me and my friends die?” she said, shouting by the end at Jumpchan, years of repressed rage pouring out.
The being merely sighed “I appreciated your efforts in entertaining me, please accept the powers and items….”

“And I’m just supposed to go back to my world and my family like nothing happened despite the fact I no longer can even likely relate to that life, and despite the fact that I have had to do so many awful things that I can’t even face them.”
“I have made you do nothing.” She said ice creeping in to her voice.

“No, no of course not, you just found someone desperate enough to say yes when asked then threw them repeatedly in to the worst hell holes you could find without any regard to what would happen to them and then once you were done with them you tossed them aside. You know I really had hoped we could have fun together. It’s funny the idea of going on adventures, having fun and making new friends sounded so great to me so long ago. I didn’t know you would stick me in some of the stupidest hell holes in the multiverse. Well fine. If I have everything I gained in my journey then I have some unfinished business to take care of.” She said turning away from her benefactor. She was unsurprised when a glance back told her that she was now alone in her room.

Stepping past the now empty wheelchair and computer desk she had been sitting at all those long years ago she headed for her closet and used her portal device to head in to her Warehouse. Long ago she had purchased a device that would let her return to any one world on her journey.

“So you think you can just toss me aside? You think that sticking me in a instant death situation will get rid of me. I knew you hated me but I did not know how much. Well fine. I know you well enough to know you won’t be satisfied just having tortured me. I am not going to let you torture other people under the guise of helping them. I am going to put an end to this game once and for all.
I may not have the power or the strength yet but I will. I won’t let you hurt anyone else for your own amusement.” She swore

>“Yes.”
>“And she and her group were killed in the resulting blast?”
>“Yes sir.”
Wait, what? Was it like, a nuclear warhead directly enhanced by the Benefactor or something? Because she's taken several jumps that would allow her to easily shrug off a nuke.
>>
>>51808581
>Soul Absorption
Which we never see him do anything with and have no idea how it works or what the limits are. He supposedly does it but since he jobs in every fight, we never see anything.

>Manipulatable body
Already a perk, albeit based on Twelve instead.

>Corrupting Gas
Various abilities can already corrupt people and are much more famous.

>Animal Possession
When does he do that?

>Teleportation
You can do it through multiple ways, Psycho Power and the Ninja Capstone Booster are two of them. Yoga perk also gives you teleportation.

Ultimately Necalli just doesn't have anything that can be done with other abilities already. His abilities have the same problem as his concept, he's just a bad rehash of previous stuff.

You're making me think about all the stupid bullshit that happened in my Dragonball jump. I thought I was out but you're PULLING ME BACK IN.
I was gonna work on a build for STREET FIGHTER.
This is all your fault, Usaginon!

... as a side note, in my chain, it is totally canon that while Goku failed to take over the Earth due to brain damage, my jumper's background failed to do so only because she was distracted by food.
As a reminder, did you know that Earth apparently has the best food in the Dragonball universe?
My jumper's saiyan background failed to destroy the planet because she ended up going full foodie. When Raditz came down to earth, he was very exasperated to learn this information.

This isn't, like, important or anything. I just feel like this is the kind of stupid bullshit that Toriyama would be proud of.
>>
>>51808633
The two that I can think of would be superman the animated series and maybe Generic Xanxia. While you are correct she might have survived a standard nuclear blast, you have to understand usually with nuke it activates far in the air... she wasn't even a hundred feet from it when it went off so she caught a Nuke in the face. Her durability was good but she couldn't survive one going of so near her.
>>
>>51808709
Huh?
>>
>>51808672
>Number of jumps taken does not make you anti-nuke, anon.
I didn't say "number of jumps", I said "several jumps that would allow her to". There's a subtle, yet important difference.

Mushoku Tensei, S:tAS (as Kryptonian), Overlord, Anima, Infernals, Sidereals, Generic Xianxia, DC Occult. That's quite a hefty toolbox right there. Unless it was a Benefactor-empowered bomb, nothing in X-Men Movies could kill her unless she allowed it.

I said huh because I posted the post in question. That's just how I save filenames, it makes them easier to find. I have no idea how I'd find what I'm looking for if I didn't put what it was infront of the string of numbers 4chan spits out.

How do you organize your images? Genuinely curious here.
>>
>>51808785
>dream travel
Eh, maybe. If some cool characters show up over the next few weeks with the new season we might add it.

I'll admit, I have a great distaste for Necalli personally, since he's really just Akuma without anything that makes Akuma good/interesting and with none of the awesome stuff that made new characters like Fang or Rashid memorable. The fact that he has zero impact on the story apart from making Ryu learn the Power of Nothingness, which would have worked far better with Akuma or Evil Ryu as the opponent, only makes it worse.

>>
>>51808900
>Anon at which point does shit hit the fan in WORM?
Shit is constantly hitting the fan in Worm. The point where they just throw an outhouse at it is something like two and a half to three years after the jump starts you off. We don't know the exact date it would have happened otherwise, but we usually get numbers greater than ten years.
>>
>>51808900
It's two years in canon, but Dinah says that it happens anywhere from 2 to 15 years, depending on circumstances.

If you kept an eye on Scion, you could hold it off for over a decade, but without help, there's no way Earth Bet will have the firepower at that point to defeat him; the Endbringers will have broken the world by then.

No. By the time you get to large collections (like if you're trying to collect Stellify's HR posts on /s/) normally you break it down into smaller folders, each with their own excels. Like splitting off met-art models into their own folders by first name, or arranging pixiv by artist. When it comes to meme images I'd use the excel to categorize, but generally I know exactly which pictures I want to post as a meme just by the thumbnail.

I'm gonna say that it was something really stupid, like bananas or pineapples. It would have been the first thing she ever ate on earth, after all. So it was probably either something she found on a tree, or something that was being sold from a vendor that she just took because Saiyan.

Eh, I don't really see it. From what I know, Akuma is devoted to getting stronger and fighting the most powerful fighters in the world, while Necalli is some sort of mindless abomination that's devoted to eating people's souls and gaining their powers.
>>
>>51808774
I’ll try and address this as best as I can. I can understand many people claiming this was unfair because that was the point. It was unfair In a way I am glad people care enough to be upset by that fact.
As for could she have survived the blast… yes and no. Much of her toughness was magic in nature, either through strengthening her body or creating impenetrable shields of magic.
Had she had tome she might have been able to create a shield of magic strong enough to take a nuke but she was forced in to a fight and she didn’t believe she was in that much danger, her shields were more to protect her companions and most of her energy was put towards destroying the robots attacking her and her companions.
Exalted is tricky because I don’t know much about it I am assuming her charms were not focused as much on defense because she had the Kryptonian and Xanxia toughness to fall back on. Now she probably would have survived a small or standard nuclear blast, however it was a situation where she was too close to it and caught more of the force of the blast than one would usually face.

I will point out that even had she survived she would have been blind, deafened for a while and would have been dying from radiation poisoning. The first two making it hard to stop the last part so the instant death was far more merciful.

And yet their concepts are "Mysterious monster like person who appears out of nowhere to strong fighters to do battle with them". Their reasons differ but the purposes of their characters are the same. They have similar appearances, being red haired, monstrous looking humans and they both rely on mysterious dark powers.

The difference is Akuma has an actual character with a set personality, beliefs, backstory and connections to other characters, whereas Necalli is barely a person an gets no development or detail in the story and his backstory amounts to "He's been around forever and every now and then when he feels like a kipper he goes and hunts some souls". Necalli has no substance to him once you look beyond the faux-akuma face he has. Fighting style? We've already got Blanka for a bestial fighter and all his special stuff is either Akuma or Bison derived. There's nothing new to him like with Fang or Rashid, he's just reusing old concepts poorly with no development and taking the place of characters who would have done his role way better.

>>51809114
If you don't get into any of the fighting stuff, it's just the modern world in the 90s.

That just proves that the Sayian race is full of lazy bastards who never train despite having the greatest potential in the universe.

Before the Android Saga all Vegeta ever did to get stronger was really only zenkai boosts and relying on his natural power level, and even then it only took 4 near death experiences in order for Vegeta to be a threat to the supposed strongest in the universe.

To be fair though its not like the Sayian race needed to train that much considering that the weakest Sayian warriors were equal to 200 farmers with shotguns.

I'm on a 14 inch with a 32 inch side monitor, part of it is just routine memory by now. Once you get used to the process it's not bad at all, you just set a routine and it simplifies down into 30 minutes of image hunting, 10 minutes sorting, 5 minutes filling in the excel. If you use sub tags like (ARTIST) or _HR or whatnot it takes a bit longer, but generally folders make that unnecessary. If you're into making imaged cyoas that use generic images or you're into things like RPGmaker, it's helpful to organize a collection, and with places like pixiv and danbooru, the image hunting process is pretty easy as well. Getting into the routine is probably the hardest part. Once it gets going you won't notice it.

>Exalted is tricky because I don’t know much about it I am assuming her charms were not focused as much on defense because she had the Kryptonian and Xanxia toughness to fall back on.
Indeed. Exalted defences could've stopped it, but neglecting defensive charms is certainly possible.

Without a perfect defence, nothing there helps with a nuke (excepting Eternal Essence, but that's all the way up at Essence 7). And even with perfect defences, they have to be activated, the explosion catching her by suprise means they can do jack shit without also having a suprise-negating charm or something.

So yeah, seems perfectly plausible to me.

Really odd to me personally, since I tend to go full turtle-mode with durability options, but I could see it happen.

>Humans were the pets all along.

Oh god it all makes sense now, cats and dogs have just been messing with humanity for the last century making them think that humans were the ones in control.

But who is the true dominate species on Earth humans? Or the creatures that benefit the most from humans without having to lift a paw to work.

Mmm... Kryptonians are immune to radiation. Also, Tanks can come out unscathed from nuclear blasts. That's the kind of durability you need to survive a nuke, and even at close-range you're not even going to come close to taking the brunt of a nuclear attack, which Sidereals would have allowed her to dodge and Infernals to fully tank, as reflexive (i.e. instant) Charms. It's unlikely she wouldn't have picked up at least one of the Charms which would have allowed her to dodge or defend, as those were still fairly early in her chain, and take a matter of weeks to learn.

And then there's her being a 310-year-old Hellsing Vampire and 379-year-old Dead Apostle, either of which would allow her to nigh-instantaneously regenerate from the very small amount of damage a nuke would be able to inflict, and this is all assuming she wasn't in Phase State which would allow her to ignore all physical forces. Which she should have had an inkling to be in before the nuke even went off (assuming that somehow she couldn't react in time) because she had Probability Forecasting and Danger Sense from USJ.

So basically, the power/utility differences between the Power of Nothingness and the Power of Edge are that Nothingness lets you seal/fuck up evil, while the Power of Edge let's you make other people edgy. That about right, or does the Power of Nothingness lack the whole 'drag people to hell and one hit kill them' sort of ability?

So while the weather's fucked, I gotta be careful with my powers, and a Fleet of Fog is after me, WHO GIVES A SHIT WE ALL KNOW I'M GONNA RUN AND CHERRYPICK MY BATTLES. No, I have a different plan.

So we have the maids, yes? Nine robot maids. BUT. We have ten Prinnies from Disgaea who help tidy things up around my Warehouse. So naturally they need some company to help them out! And the Prinnies need help with the taller shelves and being lifted up to reach them. So nine prinnies each get a robot maid to help them out and assist them in tasks. While one Prinny is the main superior officer Prinny, with Mr. Handy from Fallout helping him out. So now we've got Prinnies and frilly robots running around being ordered by a prinny with a sarcastic british robot. And it is going to be the best thing. It will be a bunch of quips followed by 'dood' and I can totally see the prinnies dressing up.

Question about Mysterious and Hermit. Both of them seem to work best when you're playing the role of the mysterious outsider, and degrade in effect the less otherworldly you present yourself.

However, if you had a philosophical justification for certain acts could you still maintain the high end of those perks? I'm thinking about how if you were laughing and jovial that'd make you seem more down to earth, but if you explained it, or someone else explained it, by way of a Laughing Buddha or the like could you still maintain the full benefits of Mysterious and Hermit?

>Victory From the Jaws of Defeat is still there
You really see no problem with a perk that just makes you win almost everything and makes all enemies almost always lose against you? Why is that even there?

Same with the other 800cp perk. Why are they there when they seem broken beyond all belief, even compared to the capstones?
>>
>>51809962
They were meant to be thick plot armor - not necessarily invincible, and I attempted to make that clear in their descriptions.

Would be happy to see what others think on this, though.
>>
>>51809962
That literally means they are balanced against each other. What do you even mean by broken?
>>
>>51809951

Just so you don't think I'm misleading you I want you to know from now that I am not the jump maker, but the silver screen sounds better
>>
>>51809974
You need to really reword them. It literally goes " That’s why whenever defeat seems to come close, you nearly always find a way to stop it. You’ll practically always find a way to come on top, and all but the most well-laid plans to defeat you will fail. "

That's not 200cp above what you put for capstones. That's making you win almost everything you do. The 'limit' on it is the one line you put at the end going "Oh but a few people might be able to stop you from auto winning". The same with the other one. The only limit is just "Almost no one will actually be able to permanently beat you".

>>51809986
Broken compared to the rest of the jump and in general. Or are you really saying effects on this level are balanced at all?
>>
>>51809997
yeah, I'm going for something not necessarily as powerful but similar thematically to that guy from that video game that I could never fully understand that had awesome brawling and let me be a pair ofKRs battle ride of war or something
>>
>>51809962
They are capstones though.
>>
>>51809986
Since Jumpchain isn't a multiplayer system, relative brokenness is still brokenness. I could make a jump where one origin had a capstone of always winning and the other had a capstone of undoing the ability to always win, they would both be balanced against each other but neither would be balanced in the confines of Jumpchain.

Mind you, I don't think that's what it actually is - and that's why I'm defending it atm.
>>
>>51809928
Okay, so Martian is even better than it previously was, and Amazon is still /far/, /far/ below any of the other 800 CP races. Either it needs a few more free items, or it needs to be buffed accordingly.

Also, not seeing how Extreme Shapeshifting is comparable to anything else in the 800 CP price tier, unless "your body is like Plastic Man" also includes his enhanced survivability and regeneration, which... Well, it almost certainly doesn't, considering those both have perks of their own.

Like, fuck, you gave Martians even more free shit. How is anything else even supposed to compete?
>>
>>51809974
At the least, I think you need to put a fair bit more detail onto where it stops working when the effect is so good. Don't think they need to be removed, even if I don't really see why they're there, but if they are there they should be much clearer on how far they extend.
>>
>>51810033
Broken and unbalanced compared to the rest of the perks on offer. None of the 600s come even a tenth within the sheer utility and power of the 800s. Yes, they're balanced against each other. But they're completely unbalanced compared to the rest of the jump.
>>
>>51809928
Do the Kryptonian/Martian racial weaknesses go away post jump? Kryptonite isn't a big deal since apparently only the Kryptonite of your own universe will work on you (in most versions of DC, see Power Girl) but having a permanent weakness to fire on the level of a martian is crippling going forward in the chain.

Hint: You can use the way you get rid of the fire weakness post jump as a way to nip any burning martian related BS in the bud.
>>
>>51810017
They seemed balanced with the rest of the jump, which at this point seems to be the only good criterion of jumps that won't be changed in the future.
>>
>>51809928
The companion descriptions are pretty sparse and extraordinarily vague. The only reason I know anything about them is because I'm already familiar with the characters myself.
>>
>>51810087
Really? How are they balanced? Balanced in the way taking them would generally let you not need to take any of the other perks since you'll almost always succeed at what you do anyway?
>>
>>51810021

Sounds cool to me
>>
>>51810017
>"Oh but a few people might be able to stop you from auto winning". The same with the other one. The only limit is just "Almost no one will actually be able to permanently beat you".

I thought that was a fair caveat - people like L from death note, or the spiritual leige from 40k would probably be able to negate the effects of those perks through sheer talent.

I see where you're coming from on plot armor being cheap, though.

True, I was just thinking in terms of the difference from 600 to 800.

The factions might be charecterizer well enough by the 100-600 CP perks already present, meaning that the plot armor capstones might not be necessary. I may well remove them. Not sure.

Looks like I'll need to pick up that racial weakness immunity from that one Nasuverse jump, I knew there would be a reason to get that eventually. With almost every other jump making weaknesses go away post jump there hasn't been much incentive to get it.

In some cases the races are stronger than the perks they are offered describe, does this mean you are a weakened version of the race or are you a full strength specimen? If not could we eventually reach the power of a full strength specimen; with more time in a yellow sun for Kryptonians, more training with abilities for martians, etc.?

Do the perks given as freebies to the races work in other forms? If we are a full strength specimen of the race and the race granted perks do work in other forms would we be reduced in capabilities to those described in the perks in other forms?

Why don't amazon, martian and kryptonian have super speed? All three of them have that. Also since you were buffing Amazon to WW levels they should have Extreme Strength
>>
>>51810312
So he needs to buff the everloving shit out of Insurgency, is what you are trying to say? Cause I 100% agree, this is one of the few times where Superman has almost as much plot-armor as Batman and it is absolutely atrocious.
>>
>>51810312
I was thinking more in terms of how good the 600 CP perk was relative to the 800 - the Regime has less of a gap there.

I might change it so that the Regime perk simply allows you to be good at circumventing/undoing plans against you, and that the Insurgency one allows you to be good at putting together scraps and turning it into a real plan after all else has failed - as batman had to do again and again.

Will try to find ways to tone down the OP.

>>51810358
>a full strength specimen? If not could we eventually reach the power of a full strength specimen; with more time in a yellow sun for Kryptonians, more training with abilities for martians, etc.?

So - you're a full-strength specimin within the context of injustice, and not the... fluid context of comics. So Kryptonians won't be able to do an infinite mass-punch, but if there's anything I ommitted that you can find within injustice, I'll rule right now that you can get it.

>Do the perks given as freebies to the races work in other forms?

Nope. Best head to SAO for that.

>Why don't amazon, martian and kryptonian have super speed?

They only have it in the context of flight, unlike the actual speedsters (flash etc.)

>Also since you were buffing Amazon to WW levels they should have Extreme Strength

Was worried that it would make them somewhat identical to the experiments. Will give experiments regen to compensate.
>>
>>51810422

Hmm. I didn't see it that way, partly because Insurgency gets nearly unlimited attempts to do something - the proverbial "We'll only get ONE shot at this" no longer applies. Not sure if I didn't make that clear enough or if it's still imbalanced regardless.

In Injustice Superman had an ultra high speed ethics debate with the Flash, the flash could still move and think faster but everyone else was literally frozen in time during their conversation.

They do have actual super speed, not just in flight. Slower than the Flash but that is like saying a bolt of lightning isn't fast because light travels faster.

No, I was aware of that. It's broken as hell. It's just that the others make you almost always win, so there's no reason that only getting one shot is a pain since anyone that you won't win against would bypass either of the 800s, and if they wouldn't bypass them, they'll just fail against you anyway.

Basically, if someone is going to bypass one of the effects, they'll bypass both, so you might as well get the one that'll make you win instead of the one that gives you infinite retries. But they're both still broken and shouldn't be in their current forms if at all.

So is every scene containing the flash were anyone else is capable of doing anything. It shows that Superman's speed is canon to injustice, WW brutal owning of him during their fight shows that she has to have it too, and during his fight with WW and Supes MM wouldn't have gotten as close to victory as he did without speed.

It is this kind of nonsense that makes it feel like it would be better to just have the powers as part of the race purchase, instead of in the form of freebies in the powers section. Especially when each race's powers only work in the race's form anyway.

In both cases it's meant to be CLOSE to infinite retries and CLOSE to circumventing other plans. Talented enough individuals would be able to circumvent either perk.

Nightmare City Jump Progress...

Drop-In:
Destiny is Calling You [100]: You have an innate awareness of when events have been put into motion via powers outside your control. This is a sixth sense that only activates when you are caught up in events but you’ll know when you were given no choice but to do something by things like fate, destiny, or even the overriding mind of a computer that controls your very world.

The Pabulum of Life [200]: Suffering, Sorrow, Pain, Joy, Love, and Endurance. These are a part of life and you’ve learned to deal with them as the simple, bland result of it. Your willpower is increased and you find that things that impact you emotionally more often than not spur you forward and less often break you down.

We are Standing Here… [400]: As if born to the world you inhabit you can adapt to situations on the fly with unnatural skill. Anything from figuring out a new alternate form or suddenly gaining powers out of nowhere are within the grasp of this ability to simply take things as they are. As with all things you must gain experience to truly master something but this ability makes it so you always start as if you were skilled in the ability or skill needed to adapt to the new occurrence.

Obey me or Defy me [600]: Where others would be dictated by ‘Fate’ and ‘the Powers That Be’ you find your actions are your own. You can act in direct defiance of something like a god who controls all of reality and no fear outright deletion of your very self. This grants you an innate defense against only things that would directly and outright cease your existence with no input from yourself. The central AI can send a Troubleshooter of insane strength at you but it can’t delete you outright, in other worlds this would be like a being with Omnipotence outright ceasing your existence God can still send Michael to kick your ass but he can’t outright make never have been.

True, if we accepted supes as having ZA WARUDO-tier speed we'd have to give it to countless other characters. Including, probably, Batman - who caught him by surprise several times, which shouldn't be otherwise possible.

Or we can say it was an inconsistency and chalk it up to comic book writers being kinda stupid.

I do like the idea of just detailing their powers in the race section and not putting them in the powers section. Probably will do that.

>>51810694
>Who counts as 'talented enough' anyway? Is some plucky reporter enough or is anyone short of Superman going to auto fail against you?

Good ideas. Will need some refinement for sure. That 400 needs to be clarified a bit more. As it stands it sounds like you can just make up new powers to gain. And I would recommend rewording that capstone to exclude words like god and omnipotent and such. Instead make it so that you are always ensured an escape from effects that would otherwise "erase" you from reality, be it time shenanigans or overwhelming power.

The 100 and 200 look rough, but good though.

Why didn't Kalibak interrupt his heart-to-heart with the Flash?

The instances of him not using it don't immediately erase all of the times that he has has used it. The exceptions are the inconsistencies, not the rule. Why can't the the racial options just give you the canon powers of that race in Injustice? There is no need to make this complicated by tying the races abilities to perks, it just makes everything more difficult when the powers you get from the race don't work in other forms as you would expect perks to.

Just include a decent rundown of their main powers in the race description with a note that the race includes their full abilities even if they aren't listed.

Yeah, I meant it to come across that way. Winning against "NEARLY" everyone meant that tacticians such as guilliman or L - or any just according to Keikaku person really - would still have a decent shot at bringing down someone with one of the capstones.

Still, popular pressure on them meant that they may well have been OP. I would never have been able to communicate effectively who could and couldn't circumvent them, and thread was probably right in saying Jump was better off without them.

But maybe I'm just folding too easily to pressure without trying to actually fix things. Maybe I'm just too fucking tired and I'm unwilling to commit.

Seems like I can't find any sort of correct middle ground here. Maybe I'm just a broken person in general.

Nice, but give me Noblesse goddamit. You've kept me waiting for HOW LONG already? Though if you can keep up this pace I can look forward to the two of you catching up to The Top.
>>
>>51811687
I know what you meant. The problem is that people like L or Guilliman are like the smartest guys in their settings, barring a handful of others. Having the only limit be "The smartest, best tacticians could get around this but no one else" is even worse then just basing it on raw power. Especially if it's just a chance of bypassing the effect rather then automatically doing it.
>>
>>51811685
So the second generation was worst than the first, and the third generation is a pale imitation of both. Though I guess Cena memes a lot harder than both of them.

You're right. Ultimately, it was an attempt to make plot armor into a perk, which is a fundamentally flawed idea to start off with.

Honestly, this whole community isn't charming. It needs to fucking burn, the entire thing deleted from reality. It'd be great if it never existed in the first place, but unfortunately that's not a likely goal.
>>
>>51811755
It's mostly the strength of the plot armour that was the problem and the trouble with describing the limits involved.

I think you should clarify that Kryptonians only get their power under a yellow (and sometimes blue, depending on the writer) sun. Unless, of course, you don't think that should be the case. Also, do these ones not have a weakness to Red Sun radiation?
>>
>>51812190
Yeah but SDA handles the memelording a lot better, and honestly, when he does work, he puts a shitton of effort into his work. When SDA is being Sandra he's clearly being Sandra, but when Cena is memeing it up he sometimes ends up mixing it up with his jumpmaking.
>>
>>51812216
They have the red sun weakness, after everything ends evil supes is kept in a cell full of red lights that I assume are mimicking red sun radiation.
>>
>>51812190
>Cena reminds me of SDA a bit.

Eh. SDA is all about extreme smugness, whereas I'm way too anxious and unsure of myself to be anywhere near his level - and I'm not trying to get there either.

>>51812216
Will do

>>51812229
>but when Cena is memeing it up he sometimes ends up mixing it up with his jumpmaking.

And SDA doesn't? hahahaha

>>51812267
Spot on.
>>
Are there any perks which allow you to iron out the kinks in your genes? You know, like inheritable defects and inefficiencies and stuff like that. Preferably something that doesn't require me to literally put myself to the metaphorical grindstone with self-experimentation.
>>
>>51812280
Well we could just be straightforward about it and say that SDA's cyoas make yours look like low effort trash.
>>
>>51812319
Most jumps look like low-effort trash, anon. Also, rood.
>>
>>51812319
yeah but everyone knows that
>>
>>51812301
A peak human health/condition/physical would get rid of all of those, in theory.
>>
>>51812301
Well there are a lot of perks that let you alter genes and there is one perk from the Model jump that lets you do surgeries and treatments with spa treatments such instead. So that combination should work.
>>
>>51812331
No, but I mean, like, in general, for when I'm not necessarily human any longer. And I specifically want to iron them out, not just up and get rid of them. So I can remove harmful mutations and the like that develop further on.
>>
>>51812301

I think Hypnos Gene from Resident Evil does that?
>>
>>51812362
Just go to EVO and fuck around with it until you get rid of the mutations you don't want. There's a capstone that gives you all the know how you'd need to do it as well.
>>
>>51812319
That isn't really a fair comparison, SDA's CYOAs are of stupidly high quality. Smug incarnate is not to be underestimated.
>>
>>51812301
Ohohoho. Icy wot u did there.

>Communicator

>>
>>51812410
>... overall, either the powers are overpriced or the meta-races are underpriced
Yeah, but that;s how it usually is. You get loads of powers for a single "package" (i.e. race) at the cost of their weaknesses and only being able to use them in the form they came. Of course, inter-jump balance screws with this, but that's inter-jump balance.
>>
>>51812410
Powers _might_ be fixable simply by discounting them for those who don't buy a meta-race?
>>
>>51812382
Well I guess that anon trying to compare Cena with SDA could do Cena with Angel instead, though I think Angel pulls ahead on all fronts there too.

>Post-chain, could it be used to visit universes you've been to in the past?

Nope. More oriented towards AUs of your current universe - just like the injusticeverse/mainline DC relationship.

>Option to import an existing weapon?

No, feel like that would require a lot of more work for adding in other options, etc. Things like invader zim ducttape should suit your needs.

>As written we get a single pill, that only lasts for one hour, and we have to pay 600cp for it. This needs fixing.

Fair enough. 50 doses.

>How many do we finish with?

However many you can make with your magic abilities.

>>51812459
When did she ever make OC

For some reason I never see jumps or updates or anything really show up on their own, a lot of stuff always tends to happen at roughly the same time.

Also how do the race weaknesses work? Would the Martian fire weakness go away if you had fire immunity from another jump?
>>
>>51812515
Some jumpmakers like to post jumps to "intercede" on drama related to another jump. Also, it's easier to get criticism when everyone's in a criticising mood.

Really? Bullet points? Please use paragraphs, and please don't bold random parts of the text.

Also.

>See notes for what habits people won’t be okay with.

No, this is what asterisks are for. And the notes section in general, for that matter.
>>
>>51812585
Because it helps people find out what the perk does and everything. It's more of something that helps people not get bogged down with the description or the fluff.
>>
>>51812620
Some jumpmakers (like Gaunlet or dirge) include a "plain speech" section in the notes. If you're going to do this, please follow their examples.

>>

>Bullet points
It's not that bad. Nika doesn't really do heavy formatting to begin with, neither does she really write paragraphs worth of fluff for perks, so it stands out a bit more, but it doesn't really detract from the jump as it is.
