Red Dwarf themed campaign where your party play as the four characters (Lister, Rimmer, Cat, and Rimmer) GM could pretend to be Holly or something. Random adventures and events as you discover planets. Would /tg/ play?
Hell no, that thing was a goddamn cringe-fest.

Probably.

Ignore this pleb. His taste is shit and he's probably a bad person.
Red Dwarf is hilarious and I think it would make for a fun light hearted humorous campaign.

I'd have to say no. It's not that I don't like Red Dwarf, it's just that I don't think explicitly playing characters from a TV show is a good way to do things.
Huh? So apparently this was a thing, anybody played it?

>play as the four characters
That's where you lost me.
I'd happily play in the setting as laid out in the novelisations, pre-3m year timeskip.

There's a 1 in 4 chance I'd have to be Rimmer, I can't take those odds.
Actually yours has a 50% chance to be Rimmer, but I assume you meant Kryten as the last one
More seriously, the pregenerated characters would be a bit rough, and there'd be too much pressure to try and be funny, which wouldn't go well I think - it'd be like playing as King Arthur's knights... from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Only briefly. Rules are simple, 2d6+stat, the book is full of gags and injokes, but like all comedy, it's only as good as the ref.

Captain, according to my scans that creature is 100% pure plebiscite, the lowest form of life know to man.

Shit I meant Kryten not Rimmer. Double chances to be Rimmer would be horrible but for the sake of being able to do anything I think it would be hard-light RImmer.
Dibs on Ace!
I was intending to run a grimdark Rogue Trader game, heavy on the political intrigue, but now it has basically turned into Red Dwarf 40k and I'm having the best time running a game in a long time doing so.
It's pretty stupid, but it's also hilarious and convoluted so I think everyone is happy.

I ran a group on RPOL for almost 2 years. We didnt use the Dwarf or its crew.
Had a ship that was 4-5 ships mashed together with rival AIs on either end trying to use the players as pawns.
