Dreugh already existed as an enemy in morrowind in some regions of the sea between vvardenfell and the mainland.
Land dreugh are meant to be a point in the dreugh's lifecycle where they grow a hard exoskeleton and come onto land to mate and lay eggs. Not sure who in the team originally came up with the idea though.

Currently 3 sessions into a 5e game using TES as a setting.
The group has run into a settlement of khajiit farming some land east of leyawiin.
I know most of the background lore and history of the khajiit, but does anyone have any real information on how day to day khajiiti society is different to niben culture?
I've already told them that the society is agrarian, and the architecture is unique in that they live in small bowers made of bent wood and the woven discarded leaves of moonsugar cane. Any other helpers to really make them feel real?

It's a decent dungeon-crawler, but it's fairly different from current TES lore-wise. Personally wouldn't recommend it over Daggerfall.

Probably the best gameplay in the series if you're into oldschool RPGs. A bit hard to start, and some skills are useless as hell, but once you minmax the fuck out of your character you're good.

Well see, racial fighting techniques aren't endemic to a race. It's a cultural question you are asking, and even a little more complex is an nature/nuture argument that would proceed afterward. There are inbound abilities of races, but those aren't determining factors of their own fighting style. You can be black and not steal bikes, you could be a dwarf but not a blacksmith. You could be a Dunmer and not use fire magic or use an ebony katana, etc.

In hindsight that should've been obvious. Oblivions counter-intuitive leveling angered me more than anything, almost as much as the conversation pie that relies heavily on the ugly faces of the npc's. I do mean counter-intuitive in that if you didn't level in the best way possible you would be underpowered with each level up and putting points in luck was a trap. If only I knew then what I know now. Quests were neat though.

the only way to level in oblivion was to use magic. Powerleveling an altmer with the atronach sign and tons of welkynd stones is the best way.
grind the mages guild and get access to the spellmaker.
Weakness to fire on self for 3 seconds, summon skeleton 3 seconds, heal self 1 point, etc because you get the exact same level progression as high level spells. once you get to level 45, you can safely install the dlc's (because doing so from the start locks certain types of loot at level one instead of progressing with the character).
then use the frostcraig spire glitch to get into the test area, bring plenty of skooma and do the sigil stone glitch to get 40-50 of each type of transcendent sigil stones plus the mace of doom.
you may now actually start the game.

It differs quite a lot.
Now, I don't know how big the settlement is, but I'm just going to list of a few suggestions.

The settlement is mostly small and medium sized farms, with one or two rather big ones that are more important. There's a small village centre where you get some more secondary services as well, and which serves as a focal point for the community. In total there's maybe two or three hundred people living in the settlement and all the associated farms.

All of these related family units will be in the same clan, and most of your inhabitants will probably belong to the same few clans. In a small settlement it might just be one or two. Each clan will have its own loose leadership, with the religious and cultural head being the Clan Mother, who's the keeper of religious secrets and traditions. Could be an authority figure to introduce your players to.
Remember how important belonging to a family and a clan is. There's a word in Ta'agra which means both "landless" and "scum", which should tell you something about how Khajiit that "don't belong to anywhere" are viewed.
>>
>>51684562
Yeah, see? I thought I'd ease myself in like I do with most RPGs and just play a Nord warrior. So damn basic there was no way it could fail. Except it did, I was leveling too fast with all the main skills and not really getting +5 but more like +2-4 with 3 as the average and wondering why aren't these enemies dying like they were 5 lvls ago? And why do the bandits all have elven and orcish armor so early?

If only I'd known magic was the answer, because magic is always the answer.

Most Khajiit farms are inhabited by a big family group, and nearby farms are often owned by members of the extended family. These families are way more communal than a Cyrod family would be, and things like ownership would be much less defined. The farm isn't your or mine, it's our. Likewise raising children is a communal responsibility, and adults are likely to be surrounded by and in charge of children of the same sub-breed.

A large part of the weirdness of Khajiiti life would be the fact that several of them are so incredibly different, so you'll want to think about how they address that. The believe that all their different forms have their own purposes and are of equal value. Therefore your adventurers might come to see the Khajiit as somewhat nonchalant about the whole deal. Sure, cousin Barri might not have hands and can't plant any crops, but he's a cat the size of a horse and can pull a plough much better than any bipedal Khajiit can. It's not a matter of compensation to them that their society has adapted to this, since it's the way it's meant to be, and always has been.
Treat it like it's just another mundane fact of life, because that's what it is to them.

Leyawiin is in kind of a border region, but I'm going to assume your Khajiit are culturally Pellitinian.
Bipedal Khajiit wear a budi to cover their torso fur, as anything else would be indecent. The budi is a shirt or tunic that's fastened with braids on the right side, and is otherwise often striped or similarly patterned. They may be embroidered. In addition many will drape themselves in large shawls or many varieties, which will also be brightly coloured and patterned. More Bosmer-like Khajiit will have tattoos, that you could perhaps use to show clan allegiance or social/religious standing. Finally they'll want to wear any jewellery and trinkets they can practically incorporate into their dress. Even if they're poor, they'd like to show off what little they've got.

Food is sweet and desserts are relatively elaborate for common life. Make the Khajiit offer your players food or treats, it's a good way to display wealth, something southern Khajiiti culture emphasises. They'll ideally want to come across as civilised, cultured and well-off, or as close to that as they can manage.
There's some Daggerfall-era lore that says Khajiit don't like to eat in groups, so you could use that. Maybe someone's in charge or making food for the day, and then everyone just kind of eats on their own when they choose to. If your players end up accepting food from some of them, you could make the players the only ones eating.

If anyone's armed, they're most likely carrying something like a scimitar, a sabre, a dagger or a bow. Armour would be something like a light fluted helm worn over cloth, and somewhat loosely fitting leather armour clad in light, lacquered scales. Avoid heavy armour.

Khajiiti religion seems to put a lot of weight on being and doing, so you could emphasise that. They don't seem to worship a lot outside of the big annual festivities, but instead there's religious undertones to daily life. It's not important to pray to the gods as much as it's important to be as the gods. Clan Mothers should act like Azurah and Mafala, hunters should act like Hircine, and mothers should act like Mara. And most of all you should live according to the Riddle'Thar, he who is as much a god as he is a concept of order. Cleverness, trickery and secrecy are cultural values as much as bravery is to Nords, so don't expect to get information like this out of them easily. Keep your players guessing. They don't need to understand, they just need to find it interesting.

So when it comes to day to day life, I'd focus on how things are communal, family/clan belonging, how "there's a cat for everything", include some Pelletinian traits, exchange obvious religion with "practical" religion, and maybe do the thing about not eating alone.

Literally just get one of the various deleveling mods floating about on the Nexus. Boom, done. Which reminds me, I need to grab a deleveling mod for Skyrim as well. I like the experience of being totally outmatched in an area, then coming back later and wiping the floor with the enemies. Actual progression is nice, whereas the "perpetual moderate challenge" thing they have going is just annoying.

Characterise common folk as being somewhat impulsive, determined to keep up appearances, reluctant to explain or give out information, and generally more concerned with how things are rather than how they could or should be. How rather than why. That's for philosophers or Clan Mothers to come up with.

That last bit about character is based on the Ahzirr Traajijazeri, which I generally have a lot of issues with, but if you want them to feel different then I suppose it's fair game. The points about religion are also based on my personal interpretation of things, but I think it would be a good way to make them feel different to someone like a Nibenayan, who comes from a land of a thousand cults.

Well, that was a lot longer than anyone cared to read.

Case in point, I just did Bleak Falls Barrow. The first campaign dungeon you truly do outside the tutorial. This dungeon should be great right?

No. Lore wise, this dungeon was built to keep a draugr locked up, hence the claw mechanism. That entire thing falls apart when you realize there's a lighted path in the draugr's chamber which leads to an easily opened door. Nearly every single dungeon has these quick exits, which make no sense.

Bethesda really dropped the ball with skyrim's dungeons.

First time I played morrowind I completely forgot about the crank in the first dwemer ruins and couldn't figure out how to get into dagoth ur's place.
There's also the dwemer ruin where you gotta open the right door and the guy mentions passwall
There's also more subtle "puzzles" like with fargoth and therana, thieves guild where you gotta get the dwemer artifacts, and determining where the fuck to go with those directions they just gave you
So yeah there's puzzles, but no they usually don't prevent continuation of a quest outside of a few instances.

This is perhaps the most aggravating aspect. I very highly doubt that the makers of Arena and Daggerfall were trying to definitively link their fictional race to an minor French ethnic group. Even the Nords are a slight mixture of Scandinavian with minor elements of the Anglo-Saxons according to the developers. The composer of the main theme for Skyrim claimed to have been inspired by a chanting performance of the Anglo-Saxon poem Beowulf and from there the rest of the game took shape which makes sense the game is basically Beowulf right down to the mead halls and dragons

I straight up use the MW stats/magic system with a generic xp system to determine leveling up.
My group is a Dunmer spellsword, an Orc Barbarian, Khajiit thief and a Breton Mage.
We currently run contracts for the guilds, and are sitting around level 20 and are about to start going after some minotaur bounties in cyrodil.
Notable exploits include discovering a dwemer ruin near chedynhall, Stopping a necromancer in necrom and getting ordained as honorary ordinators and running the knights of the nine questline. Any takers on stories?

Imperial "Paladin." Heavy armor and sword alongside magic - Restoration only in Morrowind, Restoration and Destruction in Oblivion and Skyrim. I like to imagine the characters as all part of the same family line, first rising from obscurity with the Nerevarine, while the Divine Crusader cements the family's status as a noble line, and the Dragonborn, 200 years later, is in Skyrim following a gut feeling that there is where he'll live up to the glories of his ancestors.

It's pretty silly, I guess, but the story it forms warms my heart nonetheless.

I'll start with saying that our group started off as most ES games start off. The Breton, Andre, and the Khajiit, Khajara were prisoners on a prison ship while Dethir, the dunmer and Burz, the orc were booking passage because it was the last ship out of Port Telvanis.
The ship was heading north across the sea to solstheim near Ald Daedroth in the Sheogorad region when it struck rocks as many ships do around that region. Dreugh quckly flooded the shipwreck, attempting to murder the survivors.
Andre managed to get free of his shackels with Khajara's help and fought to the upper deck with the help of a couple summoned skeletons.
As the group met up on the deck, Dethir cast a couple scrolls of water walk on the group to get them off. They ran the whole way to Ald Daedroth with dreugh snipping at their heels.
>Then they had to deal with the battle between the Ordinators and the followers of Sheogorath at Ald Daedroth.

Back when I made the switch several years ago, you would have to uninstall everything in NMM, then point MO to the mods for reinstallation. And hope NMM didn't mess up that one thing.

The ideal way to do it would be to delete your entire skyrim directory, reinstall, and then install everything properly in MO.

As for the update, Nexus hired the guy who made MO to make their next one, but nobody knows if the incompetence of the Nexus staff will infect him, or if MO guy's competence will succeed.

The problem with what kirkbride was trying to do is that lore discussions are about the game lore, not fanfiction. Anybody who cares to ask doesn't want to read somebody's fanfiction, and the people who care about fanfiction in the first place didn't need Kirkbride's permission to write it.

Well, that's one problem with it. The other problem is kirkbride's unedited writing style. He really, really, really, needs someone to tell him "no, that's retarded" every now and then. Maybe then we could have avoided the Sentai Vivec Rangers battling Commercials and Gangsta Rap. inb4theemperor'sclotheslookfantastic

I get what he was going for. That was still retarded.

well, instead of the potential 15 points you can get in the MW level system for attributes, i give 10 standardly, with 20 points you can freely distribute to skills instead of the potential 30 you would need to get the best attribute points. past that its a lot of stuff i have in notes, but any generic xp distribution will work for determining leveling.
The necromancer was a disgraced telvanni wizard that had gotten into some massive trouble with the temple due to summoning a lich on temple grounds because of a disagreement with one of the priests.
Instead of backing him up, the telvanni exiled him. using his magics, he snuck into the vaults of necrom and started using rituals to awaken the honored dead. The ordinators were at war when we arrived and we managed to find a rear entrance and, after fighting through a few dozen undead and a lich or two, we managed to slay the bastard.
Little did the ordinators know, he had the necromancer's amulet on him, but we managed to slip it past them and thanks to our services, were granted appropriatly geared ordinator armors and weapons.

People talk about the witcher 3 being super immersive but really morrowind tops it by a pretty huge margin. It's designed like an actual world instead of a video game with some flavor. If you seriously prefer modern quest trackers, minimaps and compasses directing you straight to the next waypoint so you can hit A on a shiny object then fuck you, you are the cancer in games today. Morrowind is chock full of people giving you bad directions, cryptic riddles and ACTUAL FUCKING SECRETS that developers are so goddamn afraid of today (oh no! I can't handle the thought that someone might not see this one thing I put days of effort into! better put it only slightly off the main path with some fucking neon signs pointing at it!) and it's beautiful for it. Not to mention 90% of the ACTUAL FUCKING INTERESTING parts of TES lore originate from it, and have either been massively dumbed down or retconned out in subsequent sequels.

That said, it's hardly perfect. The wikipedia style dialog is nice... before you get treated to seeing the exact same paragraph from everyone in the whole world. More unique responses, or at least random ass townies not giving me the cyrodilic college encyclopedia entry on mudcrabs whenever you ask would be nice.

The combat is fucking awful. I mean, you can definitely have fun with it in a "here's a system, I'm gonna figure out cool ways to game it!" kind of way, but if you want the moment-to-moment combat to be fun, well.... it's a bethesda game, not dark souls.

Overall, absolutely worth a play, but don't be afraid to use the console to give yourself ten levels in one handed sword skill right at the start because standing around swinging at a mudcrab and missing for 20 minutes is not fun.

>>51686653
>Also how do I not fuck up the levelling?

You mod better leveling in. If you don't do that, then you never sleep in a bed. If you don't do that, then you have to plan very carefully. You level up when you achieve 10 major skill level ups. Your stats increase based on what skills you leveled up during this time, major, or nonmajor You need to achieve 2 5x skills and 1 luck each levelup, and then 3 5x skills when you finish leveling luck.. To do this, you need to get 10 skill levelups in each attribute you want to increase by 5x at level up. This means you need to level up non major skills while leveling.

You want to increase Endurance first of all, because IIRC hp gained from it isn't retroactive. To maximize things, pick a race that gives a bonus to endurance, and select it as your favored attribute (in addition to luck).

For instance, I choose orc, favored endurance and luck. For my skills, I choose a skill for each stat, so heavy armor for endurance. I don't remember the rest. When I start, I want to increase 2 stats 5x, and increase luck 1x (since there are no governing skills for luck). I'll start by leveling a skill unrelated to endurance, maybe Destruction. When I've achieved 10x levels in it, I'll switch to leveling heavy armor for 10x levelups. Afterwards, I'll sleep, and boost my stats. Repeat until Endurance is 100, then switch to a new stat.

IMO the leveling system is fine. It leaves a lot of room for optimization, and worked well in morrowind. It's easy to end up with a suboptimal build, but you didn't need an optimal build in morrowind.

The problem was that Oblivion also made it so every enemy leveled with you, at a rate that you couldn't hope to keep up with unless you optimized.
>>
>>51686825
So, the level ups were how you increased core stats, and the core stats went up based on which Major Skills increased most recently?

The difference between morrowind and oblivion that is key, is that as you level in morrowind, you get more powerful relative to the larger world. Very few enemies are actually leveled. As you level in Oblivion, you get weaker relative to the larger world.

That was me. Game's still going. The "Paladin" player rage quit after trying to swing Volendrung at the one who hired thwm to get it. Initially it was kinda gonna go down like Yamarz with Malacath cursing them even more. However for displaying strength in an honorable duel to wield the hammer, Malacath did actually directly speak to the chief and give him a little boon and that was enough to heavily reward the remaining party.

We're still going strong. We now have an Argonian Shadowscale, an Orc tank and a Falmer Blender.

I think they were to keep the vast masses of Draugr outside from reaching their master and restoring his power. ("Among the Draugr" mentions how the lesser ones slowly recharge in their Niches and gather around the greater ones to donate them more power) Or maybe Draugr are straight up too dumb to pull a chain when they don't see the door itself? So the Incredibly obvious "secret" stone doors are actually enough to fool them?

Nowadays their BBEG is a creature called the Mechanist I ripped straight from /tg/. They're more or less racing around Morrowind and Skyrim in an attempt to snatch up Dwemeri artifacts before said Mechanist comes along and weaponizes them further, gradually becoming a walking cataclysm piece by piece.

They're in the last legs of the campaign, oddly enough after all this time returning to Drad and warning them that this beast is coming for the Malacath's hammer. It'll be a fortress siege situation wherein they'll be holding off hordes of automatons alongside orcs, the Fighter's guild they buddied up with, ogres and if they play their cards right, they could get some imperial support while in Kvatch.

In oblivion it's really easy to create an unoptimised character that will get exponentially weaker as you and the world goes up levels.

In Morrowind you have freedom to make what you want because if you're character build is weak you can just level up.

So it's the same system, but different consequences.

Some autist is going to give you shit for comparing TES to real world cultures but basically yeah.

Anywhere that has Celtic influence irl you could plausibly fit into Breton culture. Breton reputation for cuisine is based on the French being also known for quality cuisine. Several names across the series have Cornish and Welsh elements to them. Forsworn affinity for face paint, barbaric aesthetic, and names are all Pictish. You can draw a lot of parallels between knights in High Rock and Arthurian legend.

There's a couple more examples but they're more of a stretch and I don't want to get lore bullied.

Of course the best looking weapon is the Grummite Cleaver, looks almost as good as the Fable 1 cleaver.
>>
>>51688146
>Some autist is going to give you shit for comparing TES to real world cultures

yes because besides from face value qualities TES cultures have no identity with their comparative/appropriated cultures ideologically; to say the bretons are french and celtic is a farce because we have known knowns and known unknowns. we know they are based on these cultural concepts but we have no indepth idea of how they think and act in a detail that is comparable to the dunmer of morrowind, so its better to just shut the fuck up and be vague about it rather than condemn certainty on a culture we know very little of.
>>
>>51688113
I think armor was pretty okay, especially compared to other games where it flipped and flopped in quality. As a whole, Morrowind's armor is good on every level, though Dwemer looks rather heavyset, like a robot rather than armor.

Something about Skyrim's armor designs as a whole just bothers me so much I don't even want to wear half of them. Oblivion can be okay with some sets - Steel was sexy in an overly-realistic way, Imperial plate looked great, dwarven armor was wonderful in terms of colors - but Ebony had a horrible helmet, glass looked ridiculous, and fur looked like something made by a crazy man skinning squirrels.

>slap a library in a dungeon
>its better

how about making the landscape of the dungeon feel fucking claustrophobic and actually ancient? shit like collapsed floors, erosion from water, root systems, collapsed rubble piles. i know the draugr clean shit but do you really think some draugr are going to put on some helmets and start jack-hammering a section of dungeon floor to repave the thing?

stop making them linear; add branching paths or in this case possibly to a huge catacomb of dormant replacement draugr for the ones that get killed. an element like that would be spooky af imo. add dead ends, or even ends that bypass the end goal of the dungeon to begin with. make them sink deeper and deeper; the one thing I liked about the dragonborn DLC is how fucking deep in the earth miraak's temple felt.

slapping a library is ok but the world should tell its tale on its own, not with books and prompts. dont treat the audience like its retarded.

I'd rather have a dungeon that pissed me off navigating it than a dungeon that was the same thing over and over.

I want ruins, not the same dungeon with the rubble strewn about differently. Collapse floors, fuck the place up. Make me climb down a cliff in the dark to access a sunken dungeon, or fall through a crack in the earth. Make them have more atmosphere.

Nord Customs include NOT using the voice for conquest after it ended very badly when the tongues abused their power. Ergo, using a shout in a duel is NOT Honorable Nord single combat.

The Nords currently in the middle of an extremely justified revolt?

The Imperials:
>Place a weak puppet ruler on the throne who was is killed fair and square by the customs of the Nords by Ulfric
>demand Skyrim remain part of the Empire so that it can draw on its citizenry for troops in a hypothetical second war with the Dominion
>let foreign agents of the Dominion carry people out of their own homes in their own lands for the crime of worshipping their own ancestral God
>wanton torture the shit out of suspected prisoners and traitors
>provide zero benefits to the people of Skyrim
>encourage rival Imperial institutions like the Cynod to treat Skyrim like a playground and compete with the local Winterhold College for artefacts

>In 1E 369, the Skyrim War of Succession began after the death of King Borgas.[2] Imperial historians attribute the war to the Moot's failure to appoint "the obvious and capable" Jarl Hanse of Winterhold.[1] The war, which lasted over 50 years and shrunk Skyrim's empire considerably, ended with the Pact of Chieftains, who dictated that the Moot only be convened when the High King died without direct heirs.
Torygg was High King because his dad was High King, and Istlod was presumably High King because his father was High King, and so on and so forth
and the Thalmor are roaming Skyrim only because Ulfric kept autistically screeching at the top of his lungs whenever people wouldn't let him establish an open-air 24-7 shrine to Talos, never mind most Nords ignoring the Concordat and continuing their worship
>>
>>51689142
Not necessarily, even if you pick nord you seem to be a complete stranger to Skyrim

What is Skyrim to you if you were born and raised somewhere else
>>
>>51689172
People are drawn from all over the world to fight in conflicts that aren't their own

>>
>>51689197
Sure, but my point was that what's best for Skyrim or ((who was in the right here)) isn't necessarily any kind of priority to TLDB

It can be if you want, but there's nothing in particular that compels it

It's left entirely to your choice, so the original thing I replied to about how there's no reason for anyone to support the Empire isn't any more true than "there's no reason for anyone to support the Stormcloaks" would be
>>
>>51689257
Except that's not true because the empire is inflicting daily cruelties and humiliations upon the suffering Nord people while the same cannot be said for the reverse. Putting a stop to human suffering seems like a pretty good reason to pick a side

>demand Skyrim remain part of the Empire
Of course they will demand that, there haven't been any legitimate attempts to secede.
When Black Marsh seceded, the political leadership of the province was united in wanting to leave the Empire. The population were generally in favour of leaving the Empire. There was a lot of legitimacy to their actions.

Ulfric doesn't have any lawful claim to the throne, nor does he actually hold it. He's just another Jarl. And he just has the support of three other Jarls, while four opposing Jarls do not want to secede. He doesn't control most of the major cities and towns. And there's no overwhelming majority of Nords that want to secede, they're split pretty evenly, with most of them living in pro-Imperial Holds. You can't safely say that most Nords or inhabitants of Skyrim even want Ulfric to take power.
It's essentially a minority revolt by a regional ruler. It's just a rebellion, with no legal or moral legitimacy.

Ulfric isn't the rightful ruler, and can't claim to speak for the Nords in that respect.
Ulfric doesn't have a majority of the political leadership on his side, and can't claim to speak for the Nords in that respect.
Ulfric doesn't have a significant majority of the populace on his side, and can't claim to speak for the Nords in that respect.
He may think he knows what's best for Skyrim, but he has no legitimate authority to act upon those beliefs. He's just a warlord.
And that's why the Empire can demand that they stay.

Is the reason Keening doesn't kill TLD tied to the similarities between The Voice and Tonal Architecture? Or some sort of damage done to keening when it was used to destroy the heart?

I'm guessing that Keening has lost its power because its tied to the heart

most likely it's because Skyrim doesn't distinguish between left and right hand gloves/gauntlets/bracers so they couldn't have wraithguard
if they weren't that damn lazy they'd just make wraithguard appear in the right hand only while the left hand stays bare, who cares if you can't pair it with an iron bracer

Do you like the Roman aesthetic of the Empire? It's to obvious and a bit unispired. I think they should go for a more Early Modern/Pike&shot look for the Imperials, at least. Not copy Warhammer, obviously, but at least give a different and more evolved look to what we have seen so far.

Also, would "guns" fit the TES universe? Not just copies of real guns that use gunpowder, but projectile weapons other than bows and xbows. that shoot magical/alchemical projectiles and can be used by your average human peasant without being gifted or trained in magic.
>>
>>51690457
>Early Modern/Pike&shot look for the Imperials

>>
>>51690457
>Also, would "guns" fit the TES universe?

small arms maybe, or just cannons; there was a dumb storytime post on r/teslore that some dude wrote about imperials investigating gunpowder and using khajiit piss for phosphorus. they got so bad at it they had huge slave camps of khajiit pissing in a sand pit to harvest it, and at the end of the project deemed it too expensive and infeasible.

Two questions:

I'm a noobie to TES lore, but it really seems to me that Tamriel (Not the subsequent additions) is an 80s fantasy setting presented in now modern mediums - Would I be right in this? The base concepts of the world - a landscape separated into distinct, geographically and culturally homogenous areas seems to do it for me. Of course, subsequent additions to the lore have distanced it from its roots but they are still apparent.

So i heard this theory a lot, since skyrim was released, and mainly because of the ingame events about it , so...

It is true that Lydia Really is Balgruff's Niece, and the reason that he and his brother wanted her to hang around with the LDB was because he would be a better Teacher to her?

Because post vanilla she had a lot of character interactions and even reactions towards everything, even more than certain NPCs, like Mjoll, Erandur and Jenassa, she ended up being the most updated companion ingame, in lines, character development and everything.

Lore question:

Did technology degenerate since the Second Age? Armor resembles much more advanced plate armor in ESO while armor in the last few elder scrolls, Morrowind and Oblivion especially, look as if they've been inspired from earlier eras.

And what can you tell me about breton mentality? Are they autistic ethnonationalists like the nords? Are they degenerate like the elves?
