So I think that Star Trek actually gives a better narrative context to this sort of issue of bridge crews than Star Wars does, and can be useful to think about when trying to figure out what players can do in this situation.

Guys on the bridge crew are important NPCs (rivals) and PCs. Individual members of their specific crew don't matter, especially once you get up there in crew complement - but in a standard military structure if your department head has no idea what he's doing, you're gonna be disorganized or force to stand around with your foot in your dick. So players skill is important to roll to kind of figure out how they get people to do what they do for standard ship actions.

For captains/commanders specifically, look at what those guys do on Star Trek. They point at specific bridge officers and give orders (Giving a Rival or fellow PC an order with an ability like Field Commander, just remember Rivals don't recover strain, it has to be recovered as wounds), they use their knowledge to find out things about enemies, and they can use their own skill to perform actions to supplement their specialists like plotting the course the pilot will take, giving gunners fire discipline, etc. They also are usually your point of contact, so they handle all the talking with other ships, crews, etc.

We see Gallofree GR-75 transport ships participate in space battles in ROTJ and in Rogue One. But we never actually see them do anything. As far as I know, they only have a single turret or at least only defensive armament.
What do they actually do? Do they just float there and act as distraction targets?
I have also heared that they are used as floating bombs or suicide crafts, but that does not make sense either. In ROTJ, we see plenty of them still floating around after the second Death Star is destroyed.
Help me solve this riddle, /swg/. You are my only hope.

Recap: Question was
>why don't the early Rebels use more TIEs

I understand most of these counter-arguments about Rebels emphasizing survivability and the lack of hyperdrive severely limiting its hit-and-run capabilities.
I was, however, also considering the potential "waste not, want not" aspect of doing so.
For starts, I have to imagine the early Rebels were starved for equipment, and smuggling and personal ships only gets you so far. Now a lot of real-world rebel stealing from your opponent for arming yourself is nothing new and even an encouraged tactic. Raiding supply depots for arms, ammo, and other equipment, as well as scavenging it off the battlefield, are all good sources of materiel.
Along with this, I would have to imagine a lot of Imperial defectors would take their ships with them on their defections. Like I also mentioned, that "TIE" carrier also probably not only came with a complement but maintenance parts as well.
While the TIE/LN is by no means an "ideal" craft, but considering a) at that stage you need all the equipment you can get and b) you have a good number of craft lying around anyway, it would make sense to press them into service until you can increase your fleets of better craft.

Tl;dr the early Rebels probably shouldn't reject something when they can use just about all they can get
>>
>>51634855

To clarify something from here you can also smuggle/steal spare parts if you want; Sienar has a lot of factories and the TIE is so mass produced the parts shouldn't be hard to acquire, even in your early stage.

To continue as well, while the TIE isn't independent of a carrier ship, it can just be shipped with the carrier. I can imagine the Rebels stealing a few carriers or Gozanti cruisers with the TIEs intact and using those in their raids.
Even without that, I notice the Rebels typically travel in small fleets. The TIEs can therefore be used as rear-echelon fleet protection.

Again, this is all until the Rebels are able to get enough of their "own" ships.
>>
>>51634653
they are pretty good support ships in armada, and those dont have guns either
they are probably loaded to the gills with command and control equipment
>>
>>51634855
X-wing has a stolen TIE for the rebels, but the lack of generic pilots implies it is for specialists only

it also seems that the rebels always had an impressive arsenal, the rebels show has them engaging in A-wing spam, and Rouge one has them with a very good arsenal to match scarifs garrison

all this before the battle of Yavin, so they were never so strapped for cash that they had to resort to stolen fighters

>that spoiler
>>
>>51634914
I think the issue with the Rebels is that it's a lot harder to get a hold of trained or skilled fighter pilots than it is to get a hold of the craft themselves. As such, the few pilots they have use the best, most versatile craft. TIEs are fast, but not very independent or "mobile" in terms of operation. In the late days of the Rebellion I suppose it could make sense to have a stolen Gozanti or whatever, but in the earlier days, I don't think the Rebels could afford to gamble pilots on craft that couldn't escape and regroup independently.

Eg; an attack goes sour and the squadron is scattered, they can at least jump to hyperspace individually and regroup later if they go in X-Wings/what have you. If they went in TIEs and a carrier and the squadron was scattered, they'd have to all manage to get back to the carrier to dock, and then escape; if the carrier is destroyed or disabled, the fighter pilots are fucked.
>>
>>51634855
You're still ignoring the core problem that the Rebel fleet wasn't exactly overburdened with the capital ships necessary to haul these ships around until after Yavin. The ships they did have weren't capable of carrying TIEs in the numbers necessary to make the fighters useful. The average TIE Squadron was what, 24 or 36 fighters? Assuming you refit the GR-75 to carrier half of that, you're still not as effective as hauling a Z-95 squadron. Would the Rebels use them on the quiet? Sure what the hell. But making them their main craft seems bizarre.
>>
>>51635027
TIEs simply arent equipped for the fights rebels are planning
only effective in large number, which the rebels will never have
A-wings seem to be their new cheapo fighter
>>
>>51634653
I could see some being refitted as light carriers for headhunters and V-wings and other non-hyperspace fighters, and others being used to collect shot-down pilots and escape pods
>>
>>51634855

To clarify something from here you can also smuggle/steal spare parts if you want; Sienar has a lot of factories and the TIE is so mass produced the parts shouldn't be hard to acquire, even in your early stage.

Whoops double posted by accident
>>
>>51634653

Same thing they do in XWM anon.

They're support craft doing command and control duties. The cargo space means they can haul additional supplies, materiel, and equipment which a ship their size might not otherwise be rated for. They can be armed with additional shield generators and projectors to act as cover and screening ships, they can act as supply tankers to help ships in a fight, they can carry ECM/ECCM and other support gear like sensor and comms gear. In a pinch, you can make them makeshift carriers or mine ships.
>>
>>51635033
I was really referring to using them at all, probably as a reserve craft, instead of making an entire fleet out of them. Like I said, it was just to pad their Starfighter fleet until they can get better fighters

The X-wing has a higher price tag, but seeing as Republic credits and Imperial credits are different, I have no idea how they actually stack up when accounting for exchange rates. PT-era prices were weird. Eta-2s somehow cost about as much as TIE Defenders despite only being slightly better than TIE Interceptors.

Supply and demand, my dude. Everyone wants to look cool in their jedi starfighter. Also based Raith keeping costs low.

The ARC-170 reminds me of the A-10 warthog sometimes. Also, can a normal civilian buy a cruiser?
>>
>>51635386
I mean, can't you look at the similarities?
>>
>>51635174
>>51634653

In EotE, the GR-75 is stated to have two hard points, and an encumbrance capacity of 1000. They require a crew of 7 at most to operate. While they aren't very hardy (They have about the same hull integrity as sturdy light freighters, which no longer makes me laugh at them for being torn apart by like 3 interceptors in Rebels) they have pretty good armor for a ship that size, and shielding in all sectors.

They cost enough that you can get six and some aftermarket for the same cost you can buy one whole CR90. They're hyperdrive equipped and have a Medium sensor range, so they have pretty good talking and seeing radius. With two HP there are a lot of suggested mods in the system to allow all kinds of specialization. And then with the astonishing amount of Encumbrance you could carry all kinds of external equipment and gear not part of the ship itself.
>>
>>51635371
You have to look in the older RPGs pastebin, not the FFG one.

>>51635386
Probably depends on where they are, who they're buying it from, and how they're sourcing the multi-million credit cost.

Company, captains lead companies in general.

Within that company they can do as they like, throughout history there have been captains to prefer to take a step back and those who prefer to take a run forward.

Captains in regular forces typically command a company (multiple platoons). In special operations and intelligence, they head up teams (usually 8-15 individuals). In the Air Force, they're often flight leaders (lead the flight of four aircraft); it's typically the lowest rank for the commander of a transport aircraft as well.

Captains do a lot of work, man.

Nah, homes. I think what anon meant--- and he's right-- is that Captains are the last level you hit before you become "field grade" and get put into a super-safe COC or TOC somewhere. I've seen a light "in the suck" only a handful of times, and he was basically doing morale tours of our FOB. Other than that, all Majors and above were ensconced safely in the COC, where there was heating, running water, working plumbing, and plenty of fortifications.

Our CO, though? Slept in the cold with the rest of us. If he slept at all.

Anyway, personal anecdotes aside, Captains are basically it before you get pushed off to be staff somewheres else. You may be forward deployed but you're not going to be shooting at anyone.

There are a lot of more mature moments in Star Wars, never mind that "tacticool" operators is what the other anon brought up, special forces is literally "muh tacticool" operators operating operationally. What do you want to use it for?

Generally the Rebel Transport and Raider are the ones that come with stuff you actually want for the regular game. Running X-wings effectively basically mandates that you get a Transport, ditto the TIE Advanced.

The CR-90 and Gozanti generally don't, and I wouldn't recommend picking them up unless you want to actually play epic games.

Since you only play Scum, I really don't think there's much on offer for you there.

Epic ships tend to be pretty self-sufficient purchases, and virtually everything you would want in them only benefits their faction. Only the mod cards in the Gozanti are "fixes" of a sort, and it looks like the C-ROC comes with them again.

So, I'd recommend not if you truly only play Scum. The C-ROC should be out in 4-6 months.

Species: the Renlars

This is not canon. Feel free to adapt it to EoTE or something and post the results.

Renlars are bipedal scaled sentients. The have flat, wide faces and large mouths filled with peg-like teeth. Completely filled - their tongues move between a maze of stumpy grey teeth like a snake through grass. Their eyes are small and dark and set very close together. They lack hair or visible ears. They are tall and broad, like a Wookie, but slightly bent. Their limbs are thinner than you might expect, and end in clusters of clawed digits.

Renlars, despite their fearsome appearance, are not monsters. The can speak Basic and pick up other languages given time. They resort to violence no more than your average sentient. If provoked, they will happily claw you apart, but who wouldn't? They favour robust, high-powered weapons adapted for their hands and eyes. Renlars find work in many industries, but are rarely pilots. They get dizzy easily and they tend to break control sticks when stressed.

All Renlars are mildly Force sensitive. They can sense, with remarkable detail, the emotions of other nearby Renlars. The emotions of other species are mysterious to them. They either feel nothing, or interpret strong emotions as "noises" or "bad tastes". The fear, grief, rage, and love of other species have no effect on them, for the most part. The emotion they describe as "frustration of nearly completing a difficult math problem only to discover you have made a fundamental error" sounds like pleasant brass bells. Many Renlars enjoy visiting universities. The wealthiest of their species keep court mathematicians, who are brought out for display purposes when other Renlars are visiting, and are otherwise used as alarm clocks or background entertainment. Renlars do not believe that their abilities are supernatural.

Renlars do, however, have supernatural beliefs. They are all firmly convinced of the existence of ghosts.

These hangers-on go as far as to suckle from the Third Teat of Dysnee, a ritual that encourages the spread of the Reylo pheromones throughout their home sector of Tumblur and beyond.

Renlars believe that, when a sentient creature is killed, they linger as a spirit. This spirit is usually quite weak. It will follow the person who killed it around and bother them in their dreams, spoil their eggs, spill their yeggis, and make their shots miss.

This doesn't happen to other species, because other species aren't interesting enough to follow. Only Renlars are haunted. The kills of other species just hang around or dissipate.

There is a way to avoid being haunted. Renlars must - and this is a "must", they'll do their best and will be very unhappy if prevented - eat the flesh of a creature they've killed. They are permitted to cook it, transport it, or delay up to six hours. If they don't, the spirit will haunt them. They eat so that the spirit can enter the Renlar's "spirit-bladder" or "-gland", and reside there in comfort and happiness.

You see, Renlars believe that they are so excellent and blessed that ghosts /really/ want to be part of them and help, and, if a ghost is prevented from doing so, they curse the Renlar who spurned them.

The idea of what counts as a "kill" is nebulous. A Renlar who blows up three Stormtroopers with a grenade need only eat one bit of flesh - their deaths were linked, producing an aggregate (and more potent) ghost. The same thing would apply if a Renlar shot down a starship.

For a fee, Renlar shamans will dismiss your ghosts. Powerful shamans can even talk to them, or convince them to enter your spirit-gland, or turn your own ghosts against you. They are widely feared.

The only Jedi to study the Renlars reported, in a very terse letter, that they are "most likely correct" about being haunted, although "they seem to be doing it to themselves."

Renlar shamans, upon hearing of the destruction of Alderaan, created a secret monastery. For a fee they will resettle ghosts of you choice on the "ghost" of Alderran (planets, some starships, and occasionally droids also have ghosts).

Renlars didn't have an afterlife, unless haunting someone was part of it, until they found out about Alderaan.

A ghost planet full of pacifists sounds like an excellent place for a Renlar to spend the afterlife, eating other ghosts, building cities, or raising clutches of ghost-eggs.

Renlars are monogendered. They can produce eggs (by vomiting them up). The eggs are delicious - Renlars don't have a problem with you eating their eggs, provided you don't have a problem with you eating them. Cannibalism in Star Wars is kind of a grey area. Most people are too busy to wonder if their dinner's last words were "Moo!" or "I swear, I've got the money!")

In any case, if properly incubated, a new Renlar will hatch in about sixteen days. They take years to grow to full sentience and ability, and they smell like ammonia and seaweed for the first decade of their long, scaly lives.

If a Renlar really likes you, you might be asked to "contribute" to their egg. They don't want anything liquid or soluble in benzene from you, so this isn't the usual "contribution". Hair, nail clippings, or dried slime-flakes will work. The items will be swallowed and incorporated into the baby Renlar's head-crest, which falls off once they break free of the egg. There's no limit on the number of "contributors", so a Renlar might ask several close friends or lovers for assistance.

"You must have had a mighty head-crest," is a Renlar way of saying, "You are awfully big."

Hey, /swg/, I've never run a Star Wars campaign before, and while I plan to choose the system to use later, I still need to make a main antagonist for the party to deal with.

I want to make him a force user, but not explicitly a sith or jedi, something more like someone who's naturally attuned to the force from a young age, and just sorta develops the skill from there on one of the most backwater planets to ever exist.

Should I make him a human, or should I have him be some other species? I also think that he'll likely only use the force, and not have a melee weapon.

There's a dozen non-Jedi/Sith Force organizations, religions, cults, and groups. Your antagonist could easily be one of those.

Alternatively, you might want to take inspiration from the character Kar Vastor in Stover's book Shatterpoint. He was a Force sensitive boy who was the sole survivor of an attack on his clan and was left on his own in a very, very dangerous jungle. Against all odds, and trading the majority of his humanity to gain access to greater proficiency in a very feral affinity for the Force, he successfully made his way back to civilization. It took a year.

As an adult, he is powerful enough to cure would-be-fatal disease by parasitic insect larvae out of brains, talk telepathically, and beat Mace Windu in a fistfight. He's incredibly dangerous.

I do like the Space Sorcerer idea, but you've got to make it properly weird and mythic. Everything is "normal", but with some theatrical fire effects from the scenery, until the Sorcerer Supreme curses one of the PCs... and they start oozing black blood from their eyes and ears.

>>
>>51637310
Yeah, but we can skip the teardrop shield things, and replace it with... I dunno, anything.

There's something in the Rogue One Visual Guide that I find particularly interesting:

>Guch Ydroma
>Ydroma claims to have been touched by the god of his Phirmist beliefs during a desert pilgrimage, and gifted with the mystical ability to summon water. He has visited the many temples of the Holy City of Jedha and brought forth water "as if from the air itself," sealing the liquid bounty into bottles marked with the temple name. He sells these bottles to believers and the thirsty alike.

So this guy, apparently, can use the Force do act like some sort of moisture vaporator, enough to make a living filling and selling water bottles with it.

Rebels stealing a crate of E-11 blasters then tossing it into a light freighter as it jumps to lightspeed away from Imperial rapid response reinforcements is vastly different from stealing: a Tie fighter, the fuel, and all the maintenance equipment needed to keep just one of the things operational before the Imperials reinforce their supply depot and shoot down the fighters incapable of jumping to lightspeed.

Ok, so, /you/ say it's the Force. And the Jedi would say that too.

But on Ronto Seven, they'd say that the Force is just an aspect of the All Consuming Serpent, whose body contains us all.

And their neighbors, the Equilox, believe that the All-Consuming Serpent is really another name for the Mystic Brain Dimension, where all brains go to live in harmony or disharmony.

The Force is just one explanation for "shit we can't explain."

But people do explain it.
>>
>>51637442
Yes, I understand that. But we see the Force working exactly as it's supposed to, on time, pretty much every time, from trained Jedi and Sith. Their methods can be duplicated and performed by others.

As much as it's mystical in fluff, it's science from an outside point of view. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin all learn how to become incorporeal and go to the Afterlife of the Force.

This isn't some "one possibility in many" shit anymore. The Force is the real deal. We don't need to speculate that some god exists because some guy does something "unnatural."

Yeah, he thinks he was given a gift from his god. But he fuckin' used the Force.

But clearly, there are believers in the Phirmist god. "Ancient religion" and all that - there's more than one ancient religion out there. Most of them are probably fakes, but some of them might be aspects of the Real Deal.

You could have a Force-enhanced priesthood that calls on "divine powers". Are they wrong? It only works because they believe it. There's probably not some fat bearded dude on a cloud, but confabulated religions with multiple avenues to "the Truth" is very in-setting.

A heavy-set race of vaguely catfish-esque aliens with gently glistening skin, these creatures evolved on a world with naturally occurring energy weapons in some of it's wildlife, such as the deadly Laserhawk and nigh legendary Khyber Dragons (I did take a lot of inspiration from laserhawk-anon) that roam their world, leading their hides to develop a flexible crystalline structure which is known to be exceptionally resilient to modern blaster weaponry.

These beings, though clearly sentient in having an advanced starfaring society, are routinely hunted for their hide, which is highly valued by criminal organisations for it's glossy sheen and protective qualities.

Pretending to be a god is fantastic when you can actually back it up.

Maybe he floats around, Magneto-style, like some sort of dark messiah. He attracts followers wherever he goes, such is his charisma and power.

His abilities are unnatural. He can reach into your body and pull out your soul. It looks like a tiny screaming maggot made of fog. He eats them or keeps them in jars.

He can't forsee your death, but he can forsee the moment or moments you will beg for death.

If he closes his eyes and exhales, he can put out every light in a twenty mile radius.

He's been around a long time, and at this point has amassed enough of a following to create an independent government on his homeworld.

With a flare for the more unnatural approach to things, he makes every fight and execution more intimidating and flashy than the last, and due to this constant workout of his powers he grows in strength faster than most do, seeing just what he is capable of.

Different clans/collectives/factions on his homeworld all call him different names, but they all just roughly translate to "God of Destruction."

I really like this. Someone who's born with immense force-potential trains himself through sheer will, becoming what the people of his home consider the avatar of a god of war or destruction.

Think its mostly because sci-fi writers forget Lt's exist in a lot of settings.

But in real world deployments- your mileage may vary as does the simple fact of luck, force composition and just how much contact you end up collecting during certain types of jobs. In Iraq as a captain I took a lot more contacts than any of my previous tours dragging some EOD/response guys from one crazy shitfest to another and our escorts where just not up to scratch, plus my Lt's where not experienced in combat and did need that bit of extra help keeping their shit together. Think the saving grace for a lot of those guys was the NCO's being utterly fearless, angry fuckers that where super aggressive when they needed to be which the rest of the teams just latched onto.

You just need to bait your players eeeeeever so subtly in the right direction. Get them talking about "unnatural" techniques when they think he's not listening.

Of course he's listening.

He's always listening.

And yeah, draining someone's life is going to be a messy process. You think electrifying someone's skeleton is painful? This is worse.

One of the guys from the Cantina could pull that stunt. He was an Anzat, wasn't he?
>>
>>51637879
It isn't hard to get them talking, in past experience they all really like to try and guess what the enemy's doing based on a few actions.

Imagine the displays of power he puts on. Everyone's just walking about, minding their own business, when suddenly a known dissenter who was normally left alone gets compressed into a small ball of gore. Nobody even sees where the antagonist is, they just know he's around.

More species!

This is not canon.

Dengo Dengo

A few centuries ago, Dengo Dengo, warlord of the Seventeen Beautiful Worlds, richest man in the Outer Rim, decided he would live forever.

He summoned the finest geneticists and cloners in the galaxy to his lair. If they completed his grand design they would inherit vast wealth and immeasurable prestige. If they failed, he would feed them to his pet Zenshredders millimetre by millimetre. Zenshredders, by some trick of fate, also shred the blood relatives of their victims, so the threat was particularly ironic, given Dengo Dengo's project.

Mere clones would not satisfy the warlord. He wanted improved creatures, freed from baldness, liver spots, paunch, palsy, and the other vicissitudes of biology.

After years of hideous failures, the cloners finally produced a few "workable" specimens, grey-skinned demigods with perfect features and elegant poise. Dengo Dengo tossed them into a plasma furnace and demanded "better".

Eventually, the addled cloners created specimens that pleased the warlord. They were functionally immortal, incredibly strong, beautiful - to Dengo Dengo's slightly unusual standards - quick-witted, quick-handed, immune to most diseases, blessed with a host of digestive extras and healing improvements. They could bleed bacta... or poison.

Satisfied, Dengo Dengo unleashed his creations by dropping them off on every civilized world he could find. He died rich, happy, and syphilitic.

The Dengo Dengo are now a species. They breed true - children, from most humanoid species, will be Dengo Dengos invariably, carrying none of the mother's traits. They dislike each other, but love company and adoration. Their drive to procreate is strong and they are, it is said, excellent lovers, but they are terrible parents and tend to abandon their offspring to seek new mates on new worlds. Some Dengo Dengo strive against this with sterilization surgeries or raw effort. They seek to redeem the reputation of their species.

Or someone praying at a shrine rise with new purpose, and greets the PCs with secrets.

Dengo Dengo can always find work at a brothel, provided they've been sterilized. They're an exotic delight for generations that have been raised to fear their ever-so-flattering attentions.

They make decent bounty hunters, but poor soldiers, as their ambition outstrips their skill. The Empire tried recruiting them but after a few high-profile incidents cancelled the entire initiative.

There are rumours that Dengo Dengo, the warlord, implanted secret genetic information-nodules in his creations. Those that become architects do seem to love designing grand, palace-like structures. They all know how to fly a Tyberon Mark Seven Starfighter, even though there are three existent models, all in museums. When probed by a Force-user, they naturally think the Deadly Thoughts, mind-forms that can kill both the seer and the victim.

The gene-coding isn't perfect either. One in a hundred Dengo Dengo's is born twisted and monstrous, and even advanced medical techniques cannot save their unraveling forms. They can live for centuries, but sometimes die suddenly and without warning, dissolving into slime and noxious gasses.

If you could naturally jump a meter in the air and lift three times your own weight, you wouldn't bother working out or training. It all averages out in the end.

We had an LT stop our squad leader in the middle of a "live" op (the squad was actually engaging the opfor) to chew him out for not having a radio pouch, and carrying his radio in his dump pouch. The squad got wiped out by the opfor and the squad leader cussed the LT out, almost got NJP'd and a rule was made that nothing could be carried in the dump pouch. Ah, good training.

Some species are "Near Human" meaning they are closely related to humans and can sometimes interbreed. In Legends the explination was that they were decended from early slower then light colonies that had millenia of seperation.

Not sure if this is canon, but the way I've always thought about it is that there are no "humans".

You have people from some worlds that look pretty similar. Some of them, especially worlds that have been connected for millennia, are pretty homogenized. Core worlds are where you find most of the big "human" enclaves. These worlds are rich and send out colonies.

But everybody is an alien in Star Wars. On some worlds, you are likely to be the only one of your species, no matter what your species is. There are a few spectrums (the near humans, the near-whatevers), but they aren't called that in the setting. Everyone is just... from whatever world they are from. Or they're something weird, like the Dengo Dengo.

Who says the " force" is even real as the Jedi say it is.

They could all just be genetic psychic precognitives who use the teachings as a focus and confuse it for a mystic truth.
>>
>>51640408
I'm not sure how useful that would be.

Its not like Lucas extensively studied philosophy. He extensively studied Flash Gordon, and that's a different sort of system.

I'd just pick whatever interpretation of the light, the dark, good, evil, and balance that you prefer, because you sure as hell aren't going to get a consistent answer out of canon.
>>
>>51640488
Considering that force sensitivity is a thing and has been proven to be a genetically heiritable trait, this is just as likely to be the case.

Meaning the difference between sith and Jedi is literally just how they channel their psychic energy ( raw emotion or focus)

It's not raw emotion that powers the Sith, it is literally being driven solely by your negative emotions alone, Jedi can use their emotions to focus the force or to overpower a foe but they don't fall into the trap the Sith do out of self control, but the most powerful Jedi are powered by inner peace and serenity like Yoda.

Ever tried cutting down a tree. You don't hug the tree, or sit under the branches when it collapses. It's bad plan, and people on the ground can shoot you easily enough.

Plus, it's a big thumping footstep. It's hard to hold onto cold metal.

I didn't say it refuted his^ point that the force could be called psychic abilities, I was calling out you specifically, not him, with that comment. His assertion that they could be called that is correct, but calling them that would be incorrect, they aren't psychic, they simply have access to zero-point energy through the midichlorians.

Something I've always wondered about: why aren't the TIEs modular?

>He scoffs. "What would you know? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

>"Yes, sir."

>He taps his own chin. "That's what we'll call it."

>"Sir?"

>"The TIE Beholder. That's what we'll call it."

Forgive me if I sperg out here

So I was playing TIE Fighter earlier and I came across an X-Wing labeled with a strange name

Derk

I couldn't believe the name at first, but I looked it up on Wookieepedia anyway, and this is what it had to say:

>Derk Squadron was the name of a squadron consisting of a sole X-wing, belonging to the Mugaari, that participated in the First Battle of Javin against Outpost D-34.

Now I'm just curious: what is Derk Squadron? Who is its sole member? WHY does it have a sole member?
Why DERK of all names

C'mon, we gotta come up with something. Legends gave names and backstroke to the bones in the rancor pit scene for goodness sakes.

What do you guys think? What is Derk Squadron?
