/tg/! I need pictures! Pictures of Fey!
Okay, backstory, I'm writing a 5e campaign that involves the players going to the feywild and ending up in a fey court. I'm trying to build up a colorful cast of characters here for the players to scheme with and bounce off each other, and pictures really help show these characters off.
Dumping what I've got now, but more is very much appreciated.

Also, I need some more badass looking fey like this guy. There's plenty of very waifish looking ones, but I could a few more guys who would work as knights or guardsmen.

Oh head, and Lizard people are welcome too. They kind of ended up as Fey in this setting.

Aw man I love these scandanavian trolls with the giant noses. Way cooler looking than just "Big green guy"
I'll just leave this here
What do you think of the fey being a kind of fiend, or having to pay a tithe to hell to keep independent?
>>51621948
You cheeky bugger.
Can I just say that this is an excellent thread which I greatly appreciate?
>>51624720
I still associate that image with Virt and the neckbeard attempted rape.
The captcha was "galamocha glade" and I can't help but relate that to the fey somehow in my mind
The captcha for this was "wood one way"
I don't even need to try, it just happens
Especially relevant because I'm posting spooky unseelie fey
Never fear, the hero is here!
captcha:
koppelkamp fire
the captcha was hampton arkana this time, this is getting ridiculous
can't believe no one has posted these yet
I just want to use a little pixie as a living onahole. Is that so wrong?
>>51621379
the only thing more foolish then trusting fey is taking part in there schemes

This is the best thread on /tg/ right now.

maybe have a look at Sylvari from Guild Wars 2. When they don't look like dryads, they can have a fey flavor.

So how do you tell a changeling from a real person? Besides liberal application of cold iron.
>>51625732
This one seems trustworthy.
>>51625716
Are animals scared of the person in question? Do they tend to stare without blinking? Are basic societal norms seemingly difficult concepts for them to grasp? Is something about them just plain -wrong-? These all may be signs that the individual you are looking at was in fact replaced with a changeling.

I legitimately thought you were setting up for an autism joke.

Love those feet
>party hears bizarre rumors about several people from the neighboring town disappearing at dusk, after going to search the source of mysterious chanting voices in the nearby woods
>the phenomenon seems to occur once a year since before the place was just a tiny settlement, during summer solstice
>town looks deserted since everyone is freaking out locked at home
>not even a single person is willing to comment about the matter
>only person outside is an old shepherd guarding the stone wall that leads to the woods
>he's visibly terrorized, anxiously walking up and down
>"Listen: I won't let you enter those woods. They will get mad and retaliate. They won't give my grandson back if I let you go and bother them."
>party is confused, swashbuckler asks who are "they"
>shepherd refuses to answer anything else, no argument convinces him to cooperate
>his eyes are trailing something in the woods in short bursts of movements
>tries to attack with a wooden staff but is "gently" persuaded by the half orc barbarian to calm down
>is left behind crying hysterically, not even the bard manages to assure him that everything will be fine
>party checks the area numerous times during days and decides to give up when, by the seventh morning, just when everyone is about to leave the small grove, the swashbuckler notices that the half orc barbarian and the halfling rogue simply vanished of sight without a word and are nowhere to be found even after several inspections across the place
>what the flying fuck
>bard gets a bad feeling and suggests the party to head back and restart the search after the next twilight
>during the sunset of the same day a faint, soothing, sweet melody can be heard at distance and starts filling the air
>ids habbeding
>shepherd is sitting on the wall sobbing, his eyes widen and his face gets completely pale as the song reaches his ears
>party rushes through the oaks and willows, going further in the woods and finds a half rotten, half gnawed boar carcass
>>51626956
>ranger gets anxious, says he knows his shit, claims there's no animal in that grove able to kill a boar
>"Fuck, this was supposed to be just a bunch of trees not a fucking forest, we are aimlessly walking for more than three hours already"
>the voices become increasingly higher and clear: playful and child-like, they are both adorably innocent and shamelessly alluring, accompanied by the sounds of many flutes, high-pitched giggles and footsteps of people hopping and dancing
>someone is partying hard
>party approaches another glade, and the world goes mad
>a gentle rain of pink, blue, purple and red rose petals slowly falls through the air like snow, caressing the faces of the PCs and turning into shimmering dancing lights in contact with the silver moonlight
>it’s not night anymore, and the sky gets filled with diamonds that seem as if they could be plucked from their place in the heavens if one could but reach just a little further
>the grass becomes made of living gold, and perfumed breezes cause it to shimmer like the waters of a glistering golden ocean
>beckoning at them, tiny humanoids dance, run, jump, smile, laugh, fly, play musical instruments and cheerfully invite the PCs to join them
>they look like delicate mini-elven children with perfect features, pearly white skin, completely dark eyes and translucent dragonfly wings or colorful hummingbird, butterfly and moth wings
>a few meters away, PCs notice sumptuous tables heaped with exotic fruits, rich wines, succulent meats of all kinds, extravagant liqueurs and luxuriant desserts
>languidly lying down around them, there are maidens and young men, elven and ethereal in appearance, so beautiful they are difficult to look at, wearing nothing but flower garlands
>>51626993
>”Dear visitors, please feel free to enjoy every bit of our humble feast. Everything here is safe to you. Everything here exists solely for your pleasure. Let us feed your hunger. Let us bathe you in the warm waters of untold delights. Let us satiate your hearts’ desire”.
>they smile and glance seductively
>”If I’m actually dreaming, then, unlike all my other dreams, this one makes not even the slightest effort to look possible.jpg”
>they sit down around the tables and start devouring the food like crazy while clapping to the small winged fairies singing, dancing and casting Prestidigitation and all kinds of flashy shit, getting dragged farther and farther into the depths of illusory delights
>bard and ranger are relatively genre-savvy and refuse to indulge in the orgy
>fairies start getting agitated and try to persuade them to have fun
>bard and ranger tell them to fuck off
>everyone else starts acting like drunken retards and tells the two to show respect
>bard gets really upset, ranger gets fucking pissed
>swashbuckler laughs loudly and tells them to get lost
>without hesitation they do so
>>51627054
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6CS1nKFXCo
>the fey start to behave maliciously and become increasingly hostile
>there’s no innocent melody in the air anymore: devilish choirs sing with voices as dangerously sweet as poisoned chocolate, and ears weep blood at the unholy harmonies
>there’s no golden grass or rose petals anymore: they are now in a huge, scorched glade filled with ashes and heaps of bones of all those who became enthralled by the fey and were forced to spin, hop and dance until they were literally incinerated by spontaneous combustion
>the half orc and the halfling are among them, their faces partially recognizable, still trapped in their own opulent delusions
>shit got real, at this point the ranger is too scared and confused to think rationally
>grabs an iron dagger and craves it in the chest of one of the maidens
>she burns and is reduced to ashes while her final scream echoes across all directions like the howl of a hundred hellhounds
>all the fey freak out and run away, apparently they are allergic to cold iron
>the other PCs confusedly run with them in complete panic
>ranger and bard gtfo but decide to return a last time in the following day, during daytime, in the hopes of finding someone alive
>all the PCs are found naked, several decades older, with their feet horrendously charred, covered in a mixture of honey, blood and daisies, raving random gibberish and looking perfectly and permanently batshit insane
This has been an excellent thread. I'll add my share.

pretty cool desu senpai
I remember I once watched a British 80's movie very relevant to this thread. It was about a family living in some town in the countryside, the couple get a job in London and must spend the week there so they find a darling, adorable, Mary Poppins-like babysitter to take care of their kids while they are away. Turns out the babysitter was a batshit crazy, murderous dryad whose tree became addicted to be watered with human blood and was plotting to sacrifice the children. I wish I could remember the movie's title.

Where do you think you are?
>>51627129
Thank you anon, that was perfect
How do anons like to structure their fey kingdoms? Do you use fairy courts like the Seelie and Unseelie, queens included? Do you make elves rule over pixies and brownies? Or are all their names just words for the same thing?
>>51633760
Trying to build a world where fey exist in the place of angels / demons, because I'm tired of settings where the end game badguys are demons. My current thought process is, everything magical is fey-related, however minutely.
Fey exist in the Nightmare, the Dreamworld, parallel to ours. Our world and the Dream cross in places, and the smaller fey creatures are able to pass freely in these areas, giving rise to all sorts of good and bad folktales and religions. In some towns, the fairy folk command strange rules. "No one outside their homes between the hours of midnight and 2am," "You must close your eyes when passing through doorways," and the like.
When you cross from our world into the Dream, that's where you get into all sorts of madness. Those that come back are Dreamtouched, mages. Able to pull the Dream into our reality. Some who come back are physically changed, though rarely do these poor souls make it back. This is where most of our known monsters come from, at one point, they were human, or dog, or cat, or horse. But they went into the Nightmare and came back a Bullette, a Chimera, a Doppelganger. Vampires? A disease that came back from the Nightmare, twisted.
I'm still trying to figure out all the little details, but that's the gist of it so far.

Making magic spillover energy from the dreamworld is actually an interesting way to build a magic system. Also interesting explanation for chimeras
10/10 anon would play
OP here. Thanks so much for this thread everyone. I got so many good ideas for my campaign just by looking through these pictures, and saved like a hundred.
Also, the Fey really seem to love musical accompaniment, what's up with that? Always a guy in the background with a fiddle.
>>51635676
Why would you -not- have music playing in your faerie court? That just doesn't make sense. Related, please leave your cape at the door, having a fancier cape than the fiddler is quite rude and we will be forced to flay you for it.
>>51633760
I do like the Seelie and Unseelie courts, with the queens. Thing is i'm also toying with the idea that they're another kind of fiendish presence. Unlike Devils or Demons, but still not a totally good force. Like they skirt the line between fiend and celestial. They pay a tithe to devils to stay independent or something?
This is mostly inspired by the mechanics of the Oath of Ancients Paladin in D&D 5e. They have an ability that works against the "unholy" specifically fiends and fey.
>>51623765
Fey were traditionally made distinct from demons and i think i read something saying they did pay a tithe to hell. In practice they might as well be fiends.
>>51625240
why?
>>51627129
I think dead butterflies that had previously appeared to be leaves would be more appropriate than ashes
