Space Marines don't really have to sleep. They can go days running half their brain at a time, and I think the longest period recorded was a squad of Crimson Fists who went for a month without resting. Rather than sleep, Astartes just kind of meditate for about three hours a day.
Primarchs, being degrees of magnitude more superhuman than their lesser brethren, may not even need to rest. If he ever did sleep, Sanguinius probably just lay on his front and catnapped for a few minutes at a time.

This has never made sense to me, mainly for one reason.

When I woman gets pregnant, her body SHARES a lot of things with the child such as blood, not just her supplying it for the child herself. So, if the child's genetics make them immortal, wouldn't it make sense for the mother to "inherit" some of that power backwards through the DNA and blood they're sharing? I mean, they might not live FOREVER, but they'd last a very, very long time, and be somewhat faster/stronger/heal quicker, etc.

But I could just be a dumb-ass about this. This scenario is always my personal headcanon so there's a happy ending somewhere.

Like another Anon said, the possible problem with Abnett's stuff can be that he doesn't always adhered to the lore or tone of 40k and thus kind of does his own thing. I recall going back and reading Xenos a second time and feeling that it seemed kind of out there for something taking place in the 40k universe.

In this case I can't really tell if Abnett was doing the above or actually perfectly fine since I don't know a whole lot about the Mechanicum to say if what he wrote meshed or not. Maybe the aforementioned where so low on the totem pole of the Mechanicum itself or not even a part of it that them being kind of romanitcally interested in each other was fine. I suppose it could also arguably fall under there not being one way to portray a member of the Mechanicum or Mechanicus just as there is no one way to portray a Space Marine.

Birds have shit like hollow wings and lightweight organs, with their entire bodies aerodynamic and proportioned/positioned in order to fly. Let's accept that genosorcery lets him use his wings without needing a giant lump of muscle. How large would his wings actually need to be to let him fly?

Let's assume he's ten feet tall, like with Khan, to make this simple.
The average man is, say 5.75 feet.
Taking into account a bunch of math and theory about birds and bird wingspan, a man would need approximately 26 feet of wingspan to fly. That's about 8 meters.
Doing the math Sanguinus woiuld need... 45 feet?
But he can fly even with his armor on. We don't know how much that weighs but, but we can guess it weighs A LOT. So, let's make it 55 feet to be safe, that's about 17 meters.

So, assuming he has lightweight organs, hollow bones (he was a glass canon as far as primarchs were concerned) and warpshit let him use the wings to their full potential, each wing would need to be 27.5 feet long or 8.5 meters. EACH.

If you put Sanguinius in front of a double-load semi-truck, right where the two loads connected, and he stretched his wings out to the side, the tips would easily reach both ends of the truck.

And that's not even taking into account how much of a jump/lead he would need to get off the ground... let's just assume warp-sorcery again.

A lot of them are described as being a "head" taller from each other, but that doesn't tell us much. We know that Alpharius/Omegon are the shortest at 8 feet, but no one else has an official height. As far as muscles go, birds don't have many muscles in the wings themselves. The largest muscles on a bird are the pectorals which control the wings. And I'm already assuming that he has bullshit strength in order to use the damn things at all!

Chem-gelding is semi-optional iirc. Some chapters have it by default as part of initiation, others have it as an optional extra a marine can request if they aren't feeling pure of the desires of the flesh or whatever. Or maybe it just happens when the Apothecaries are sick of your shit.

I always sort of assumed space marines were automatically castrated and/or had their penises removed.
