I love your style. The second one is definitely even better. I like that you went for beauty instead of realism. Is like a prop that the players have in hand; I like even to think that the map might not be totally accuraate and that whoever follows it might find unexpected changes on his expectations

That's... quite drastic.

Other than that I really like both. My only complaints are that the font is hard to read and I'm not too sure about the scale of everything but that's quibbling really.
