Hah!

Ok, but in all seriousness, it's public interest, not content the mods care about. If people talk about it and enjoy it, and it's at least tangentially related to /tg/, the mods know enough to leave it alone. If however, it's off-topic, the discussion is terrible, and everyone in the thread hates it, it'll likely get removed. It's why we can have a Bionicle thread, or an Elder Scrolls thread.

And honestly, it all becomes /tg/-related 50 posts down anyway, where we could be discussing anything by that point.

Fundamentally that won't work due to the fact that once blood leaves your body it's gold

ergo you can't fuel your blood engine if you keep clogging it with gold nuggets

you need to spill blood before it leaves your body

good luck doing that

Off topic; all images and discussion should pertain traditional games such as board games, paper games, war games, and card games.
Let's examine the words that OP wrote.
>As a result of a powerful curse, your blood now turns to gold once it exits your body.
OP did not give any indication, even indirectly, that this ">a thing happened" is in a board game, paper game, war game or card game, as opposed to in real life or in some other medium.
Rules as written.

Now, a funny twist would be once you died it all turned back to blood.
>>
>>51474658
>Curses are a common plot device.
Yes they are, in various media that are not traditional games.
So is adultery, but if I posted a thread saying ">your wife cucked you" it would be deleted for off topic.
Just because you CAN potentially use a trope in a traditional game doesn't make the trope itself a traditional game.

>>
>>51473352
Problem: depending on the precise definition of "exit", you will bleed to death.

As soon as you cut yourself, the blood that exits the wound instantly turns to gold. It turns to gold before the platelets can cause coagulation, and without binding to the edges of the wound (because to bind, some part of the gold would have to be "inside" the wound/flesh). So you drip gold constantly, and eventually die.

You might be able to survive using a tourniquet, but that can damage your limbs if used for prolonged periods, and if your torso gets cut you're doomed.

>Remove curse
>There are D&D classes with the main schtick of giving out curses

>>
>>51475450
Do you even Wittgenstein?
the rules here are much like language. A word has no direct relation to an object in reality. A word has meaning in so far as the community uses it. As a community the breast expansion is treated as erotica first and a curse second. The gold blood is a curse first.
While logically they hold identical empirical traits, the empirical traits are not the whole of the subject.

Some overlaps are acceptable, some are not. This is the mods/jannies' job to discern. And they are prone to fuck ups too. This week week a pic of a character with a round snout was deleted because it was confused with a pastel horse.

See:

>Raistlin Majere

>A sickly wizard, cursed with golden hourglass eyes and a ruthless search for power, held only at bay by his twin and his own morals.

This should be discussed at:
>/tg/, Because he is a part of the Dragonlance setting for D&D.
>/tv/, Because he is one of the main characters of the movie Dragons of Autumn Twilight.
>/lit/ Because he is one of the main characters of various novels.
>/mu/ Because he is the character spoken of The Soulforged, a song by Blind Guardian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga-q0F7oWnU

What is your opinion on spicing TT games with drugs?
>>
>>51473401
Well there's a second difference - the mod in question. Ultimately some mods do their jobs and some don't. I got banned for three days for posting a thread about /tg/ homebrew armies a few months ago for example. Perfectly on-topic thread, just deleted and banned for no reason. Someone else makes the same thread with slightly different wording the next day and it stays up long enough to hit the bump limit. Ultimately this place will never be properly moderated and it's nothing to get assblasted over.

I got this in a game of WFRP. Thankfully the separation of character/player knowledge stayed my companions hands as they thought they had an easy source of gold. I happened to roll really well for Strength and Toughness, so I probably would have beaten them, but still. Think of it like this--some evil wizard curses a fair maiden like this, then makes a huge show of it in the town square. Look--fabulous riches, if only you are willing to scour them from this body before me!!

He carves her finger off and throws it to the crowd. It has turned to solid gold! The very substance pours freely from her wound! While some retain their senses faced with such a thing, many others do not when visions of fabulous riches dance in their heads. Many draw knives from their belts and advance, meaning the worst of her. The wizard throws her to the town guard who of course do their best to safeguard her from the growing mob.

The wizard taunts those assembled. Look! They mean to keep her for themselves! Are you meant to suffer? Have you not already been poor enough for better??

(1/2)
>>
>>51485885
Things deteriorate until finally... With a howl, one of your own men, a sworn member of your own garrison, throws her to the crowd in one fell swoop, and then it's over. The assembled mob pulls her apart, leaving you covered in the priceless color of gold. The wizard has a laugh at your expense as you cry out for an explanation, and then he disappears just as readily as he appeared.

Later, after finally meeting him again, you will ask once again, "why". He will afflict you similarly before whisking himself away into the aether, to taunt you from afar regarding the true value of human life.

Every once in a while he will clue someone in to your strange affliction, and you will find yourself under siege by persons immoral and unknown. Some of them greater than you, some of them lesser than you... And all the while, you are hounded by the knowledge that it is not riches that spur your newfound mortal foe to action, but rather a dense and callous sadism merely looking for an intellectual cause, and expressed with cruel creativity.

And, lastly, that gold will continue to sporadically flow from living veins until that wizard is killed. His death is the only freedom from your curse, and stymie the suffering of the rest...

This means a blood mage is usually extremely healthy due to a build-up of white blood cells.
A blood mage also boils it down into usable healthy mana-type blood.
Before injecting it directly.
Meaning they constantly need to re-supply.
All failed blood mages become vampires.
They can use their own blood.

this is the worst curse holy shit.

I'm still waiting for an internally consistent explanation for why this thread is on topic and http://desuarchive.org/tg/thread/51474313/#51474313 is off topic.
By your own reasoning, the word "curse" equals traditional games.

>What are in-game curses?
You are cursed to have your blood turn to gold. (I did not SAY this happened in a game, you must ASSUME it unconditionally.)
You are cursed to have your breasts expand. (I did not SAY this happened in a game, you must ASSUME it unconditionally.)

>Curses are a common plot device.
You are cursed to have your blood turn to gold. (I did not SAY this is a plot device in a game, you must ASSUME it unconditionally.)
You are cursed to have your breasts expand. (I did not SAY this is a plot device in a game, you must ASSUME it unconditionally.)

>This is speculation of the effects of this curse on a setting.
You are cursed to have your blood turn to gold. (I did not SAY this is speculation on the effects of a curse on a setting in a game, you must ASSUME it unconditionally.)
You are cursed to have your breasts expand. (I did not SAY this is speculation on the effects of a curse on a setting in a game, you must ASSUME it unconditionally.)

What is the difference? In both cases, there is an equal amount of words relating to traditional games, and any assumptions made on the former must also apply to the latter.
The only way to reconcile these contradictory observations is to suppose the given explanation is wrong: the reason why this thread is on topic is NOT the word "curse", it is a different reason, which you have yet to provide.

Because shut up, that's why. Just enjoy the thread for however long it lasts.
>>
>>51491535
I will not. I need to understand.
>>
>>51491815
The other thread was blatant fetish fuel and not interesting, this one is less blatant and more interesting. That's why this one is allowed and that one wasn't.

How quickly does it turn to gold? Because this sounds like a boon of a curse if it acts too fast. You wouldn't have to worry about bleeding out if solidified gold is stuck in the wound. Unpleasant, yes, but also a source of replenishing wealth so long as you don't go overboard
>>
>>51491927
I don't see the words "unless it's interesting" written on the rules page, and it would be extremely subjective if it was.
What if the current janitor didn't find 40K interesting, would 40K be off topic?

Social conventions are implicit, emergent, and irrational.

>>51492150
Then how can I continue to post on /tg/ while avoiding being banned in the future?
>>
>>51492214
Just post and ride with whatever happens, dude. Use your best judgment. Enjoy the ride.
>>
>>51473352
Well, uh, one week out of every month is going to be incredibly lucrative.
>>
>>51474584
by this definition world building threads are off topic since they are not inherently about traditional games
>>
So is it solid or liquid gold?

If it's a liquid then I can get rich
If it's solid then I will never have to deal with minor injuries ever again as the wounds auto-clot with really shitty armour plating
>>
>>51492470
What if it's liquid until it settles or pools? Like it solidifies when normal blood would dry on the skin or puddle on the ground.

Of course normal clotting still occurs (unless you had hemophilia before you got curses RIP)

Ask yourself "is the core of this fetish bait" and "could this happen in anew actually existent fairy tale (switch for genre appropriate classic if not fantasy)"

Breast expansion is /d/ fetish shit. The only fairy tale body transformations are things like being turned old, ugly, young, beautiful, into a non-anthro animal, being turned into a material.

For example bleeding gold takes riffs from King Midas, The Goose Who Laid Golden Eggs, and evidently Russian literature as well.

While not spelled out in "da roolz" /d/ shit curses are not in the spirit of /tg/ while this thread 100% is.

Plus this thread is interesting, your thread had very little discussion potential.
