Our party has a large, living construct who seems to have this unusual issue that has slowly become apparent. As a Warder he's an invaluable, reliable protector of us, and for that we're always grateful.
He's quiet in-character most of the time, and will happily spend downtime sitting around town being mistaken for a statue and letting pigeons shit on him. Except for when he can see an elf or half-elf, all of which he is quite obsessed with. He'll barge over to them and start flirting with them as if he's a normal humanoid that isn't capable of crashing the whole building down. It only got worse when a half-elf paladin was added to the party.

>>51454740
I try to thank the DM for the game each and every session.

Ok so weird question about spells with 1 round casting times like enlarge person.

Lets say I begin casting it and my target moves out of range before the end of next round. Do I lose the spell since he is no longer within range by the time I finish, or does it only matter at the initial cast time?

Why do people ignore the fluff obstacles that need to be overcome when someone plays a kobold or goblin? Someone playing a kobold shouldn't just be able to walk into a village or city and hang out like a normal people.
>>
>>51454751
Now this is an appropriate way to post these degeneracies. Please do this again.
>>
>>51456318
People assume that all countries behave in a psedu-an-cap paradise where as long as the kobold isn't initiating force (causing a problem) and has money to spend, they're free to come in.

Of course, as soon as the kobold does cause a problem, they should be put down like a rabid dog and buried in a shallow, unmarked grave. Like PCs do to enemies.

You do bury your enemies, right?
>>
>>51456318
GM is lazy, player too fragile, group too casual.
>>
>>51456370
Depends. Sometimes we only have time to pile 'em up, set a fire, and skedaddle.
>>
>>51456370

I always make sure to leave one enemy alive and force them to dig the graves.
>>
>>51456382
I dunno, I am almost always the DM when not in a pre-written module, but I have my players just pay the reaper to ferry their souls and leave the bodies. Gold coin a pop, humans usually carry one on a necklace if they are in risky jobs like banditry, mercenaries, or just being within 10 miles of a PC. Once had a paladin of the death god who started paying in advance before going and slaughtering a bunch of sapients.
>>
>>51456370

I have never seen PCs bury their enemies
>>
>>51456370
Burying them is a bad habit that you should get rid of.

First off, leaving a corpse is just begging them to get back up.

Second off, leaving a corpse gives the asshole's family a better idea of what they're dealing with, which could lead to reprisals against yourself or thoes you care about.

Thirdly, as long as ANYTHING remains of immediate bloodline and sworn brothers of the person that attacked you, revenge WILL come knocking at your door.

Disintegrate, and ALWAYS wipe out their loved ones that same night if remotely possible.
>>
>>51456481
You can't wipe out their loved ones because that creates a near maximal loop of killing either everyone on the planet, or terminating by getting to yourself and your loved ones first

Think about it you stupid fucking wizard

>herp a derp, disintigrating the body doesn't' tell them I have the ability to disintigrate!

Depends, who are the protagonists and who are they helping?
>>
>>51456664

>>
>>51456683
The protagonists are scruffy scumbags from the city in question who will either help the Goddess crush her subordinate's plans, help the Demigoddess' lieutenant rebel and kill the Demigoddess to avenge said lieutenant's husband's death, swear fealty to the new Goddess-to-Be and become her champions, or some combination of the above.
They're pretty scummy, so I've gotta assume they could back any horse in the race.
>>
>>51456475
I played in a game with a huge moralfag who insisted that we must not only bury our enemies, but we cannot take anything from them, not weapons, not money, nothing. This guy didn't even have the excuse of a lawful good or even good alignment.

>>
>>51457160

>A homunculus is shaped from a mixture of clay, ash, mandrake root, spring water, and one pint of the creator's own blood. These materials cost 50 gp

Assuming the clay, ash, blood and water are free (which I hope they are) you're looking at 50 gp for one "dose" of crushed mandrake root.

Since the mandrake is probably a bit bigger than one dose, I'd say you're sitting on 20 doses, or 1k gp.

Currently I'm stuck thinking up what items to give him. Never had to chargen for something so high, used to most games starting at 1 or 3. Backstory's more or less set, and fits as well as could be expected for the arc of "you're one of six of this pirate lord's closest allies" and then I suppose I could write about his class, how he came to be it, what it does for him, etc.

Guy who posted about a possible lewdgame in another system than PF here.
I can probably run M&M, because it's basically Aberrant - I'll probably be borrowing the Aberrant setting if I do, however, because it's just that solid (or just use Aberrant - it really depends on what people want).
I can play Maid, everything World of Darkness and Double Cross off the top of my head - if it's White Wolf, I can play it, and also I know the lore and balance (as it is) well enough to give plenty of GM dispensation.
My main group is lagging as two of the players are bogged down with exams (and I'm NEETing it up), so I only have a limited timeframe.
To sum it up: GMT+1 GM looking for a pool of players for a lewdgame in the vein of the dragon game (lewd yes, ERP no, try to find a balance between fluff and gameplay), but with a longstanding grudge against everything related to the 3.PF system.
>>
>>51457799
Do you need another player?
>>
>>51457683
Paramour's a strange class. Certainly not optimized, and certainly won't be shitting out damage in the hundreds. But I like that it's strange. That and it draws "power" from the concept of love. So I could play my elf as a chunni, but instead of going "Behold, the true power of darkness!" he goes "Witness the ultimate power of love! Channelu Hearto-firah!" Not that I'd do such a thing... Often.

Also if I can get a fellow player to become his Heartbound Partner, a lot of my classes unique abilities grant me access to their abilities and skill levels. So I could mimic a caster or the skillmonkey or whatever. In theory, at least.

Lewd is "sex happens, it can figure into the game in some form, and PCs are allowed to do whatever else they want in private channels/PMs."

ERP is "okay, so let's play out a story told primarily through sex scenes."
>>
>>51457876
If benis, bagina or other sexual organs come into play for more than one short sentence where it's appropriate, it's entered ERP for me.
Sexual fluids, unbirth, vore and anything that brings a character to climax in play is ERP.
Everything, however, can be done in private chat during fade-to-black, if it isn't being pushed on the other players before or after. Private chat between players is everything-goes.
Acting obsessive, pushy, whiny or otherwise spergy if I stop you will be two warnings and then a kick (or an instant kick if you just go on and refuse to stop).
As long as everyone is having fun, though, I'll try to avoid making drama and banning people.

Honestly I'm kind of sick and tired of people using the term "lewd" for a game that is, in truth, just "adult" or "mature." It reeks of silly anime ecchi trash where the chesty fighter calls someone a baka for staring at her voluminous cleavage.

Give me a campaign that treats eroticism and smut with the gravitas it deserves, or at least the glam shock value like a work by Frazetta.

There's a distinct difference in both tone and presentation between a busty barmaid undoing a couple of her blouse bindings while flirting with the Barbarian, and that same barmaid already wearing an already-revealing outfit while acting all cute and demure yet not opposed to the flirting of the Barbarian.

Difference between being a proper slut compared to an anime slut, I guess. Or having goofy bullshit occur like the tiny character getting flung repeatedly into a huge-chested girl's bosom.

You've got 1-4 level spells on a shitty progression and terrible uses per day, from a poor spell list at Level-3 CL. Your animal companion is a druid's -3 levels, which means the Cavalier's mount is a better animal than yours.

Slayer will always be sneak attacking for boatloads of extra damage, especially with TWF, since with a flank you apply Studied Target and Sneak Attacks.

Both Hunter and Slayer do everything that Ranger does except better.

>>
>>51458626
>Can a Ranger get a death attack and know how much HP an enemy has left?
>Implying slayer has a good death attack ability
>Benefit: A slayer with this advanced talent can kill foes that are unable to defend themselves. To attempt to assassinate a target, the slayer must first study his target for 1 round as a standard action. On the following round, if the slayer makes a sneak attack against the target and that target is denied its Dexterity bonus to AC, the sneak attack has the additional effect of possibly killing the target. This attempt automatically fails if the target recognizes the slayer as an enemy. If the sneak attack is successful, the target must attempt a Fortitude saving throw with a DC equal to 10 + 1/2 the slayer's level + the slayer's Intelligence modifier. If the target fails this save, it dies; otherwise, the target takes the sneak attack damage as normal and is then immune to that slayer's assassinate ability for 24 hours.
>>
>>51458660
Fort save 21+ isn't bad for a save or die.

Ghost girl.
Triggered Twins
Mighty Jack (Le jojo posing!)
Bubbles (Same reason as ghost girl Lel moneys on a pirate ship!)
Kanya (lel cagirl fetish!)
Mary (lel bomberman reference!)

Don't bother writing your apps if you're not one of the above six. You're not getting in anyways.
>>
>>51458713
The issue is more it is difficult to use as your opponent must be denied dex to ac, and you have one round to get it off, and if they some how see you and recognize you as an enemy it auto fails and you cant use it on them for another 24 hours.
>>
So, spheres of might, when they mean 'as an attack action' do they mean 'as a part of an attack action do x' or 'as a standard action do x, this action counts as an attack action for the purposes of cleave, vital strike and similar abilities?" Was that ever explained?

There's a bit of wording that needs to be cleaned up; we're going to have a section explaining how we're using the attack action soon. There are some things that I'd like to clarify in this respect, I'm looking over the doc more now.

Right now it means that the talent is treated as an attack action, but there's some abilities that should state that they also allow you to make an attack (such as blowback shot).

Magic is tits, but divine is the whole package.

Ever wonder why fertility idols have tits as generous as their ass and hips? Exactly. Mages go for raw titillation, outward expressions of power meant to awe and inspire. Yet, as we know, tits are just there for show.

Divinity does things a little differently, they have the flair along with the foundation. A priestess is built to last.

I went to the draw thread for new images. Also new general spheres rule to clarify things:

Talents and the Attack Action
If a talent is used as an attack action, it still allows you to make an attack roll as normal unless specifically stated otherwise. Any effects of talents applied to this attack action only activate upon a successful attack which deals damage unless otherwise noted.

>>51461232
Yes, running an SoM/P game should be entirely viable!

From what I've heard, Legendary Talents are going to be "we'll be as damn wuxia as we please, if you don't like it don't allow these and stop bitching about people who do."

Baseline talents are meant to function in any kind of game.
>>
>>51461445

"Any kind of game" at level 15 is still a game where everybody's flying and shooting lasers from their eyes.
>>
>>51461467

>>51461525

Advanced Talents aren't necessarily game-breakers, merely things that SoP developers didn't want magicians taking for granted because that level of magic isn't appropriate to every setting or might be something the story doesn't want in PC hands.
>>

That's still kind of the same thing, though. It limits things for story reasons, not out of an attempt to be "realistic" or "gritty".

The difference is a shorter effective range. Unless you're really good, effective range with a handgun isn't going to be *that* good.

And besides that, the range increment for guns being short has a mechanical reason--at that range, they hit Touch AC. That's a big difference when you're fighting something like a dragon or giant.
>>
>>51461821
revolvers hit touch ac out to five range increments though.

>>
>>51461882
Depends on the character.
>>
>>51461882
Unless they're vital to your strategy or free somehow, skill-boosting feats aren't usually a high priority.

So, like, you can take Skill Focus if you really want Eldritch Heritage for a familiar, flight speed, or strength boost, but otherwise you wouldn't take it for most characters, and something like Alertness or Persuasive is mostly going to be as a feat tax for something better.

Along those lines, one of the things slayers get in their talent lists are ranger Combat Styles. Look at the feat lists on those, because you can take them with your own feats too. I'm not saying they're all good feats, but looking at Combat Styles is at least a baseline for the 'standard' relevant weapon style feats Pathfinder assumes. We'll cringe over here if you're not picking the best options, but Pathfinder basically assumes you're taking the ones on those lists so you'll be very standard for games.
>>
>>51462315
Depends, but in general they're more flavorful than practical.
>>
>>51462286
If you take Toughness and gain 10 HP but never dropped below 11 HP anyway, Toughness really did do absolutely nothing for you. Nothing changed by you having the feat, nothing would have been different if you hadn't taken it.
>>
>>51462367
If I took Toughness and gained 10 HP and never dropped below 11 then it could've been because I had 10 extra HP than I would have without taking the feat. Fact is I still have 10 more hp than I would if I didn't take the feat, so that's what would be different if I hadn't taken it.
>>
>>51462321

>>
>>51462450
>Get mutilated but you're supposed to be able to block swords with your bare skin.
>>
>>51462367
>>51462435
Toughness will do nothing if you don't drop below 11 HP or if you would have been taken from positive HP to -20 in one hit, as you would have survived blows that would have hit you anyway or been killed outright anyway.

The only exception is if you have any ability that keys off your total HP or health or something similar.
>>
>>51462450

No? I've seen plenty of webms on /gif/ that show what happens if you even casually slap someone's skin with the sharp end of a sword.

That isn't how skin works anyway. You're never going to toughen your skin through hitting it with swords, what people mean by toughening is growing accustomed to pain or even getting dull to it.

Your performance did change by having initiative rolled and coming out better in turn-order. This is a common thing that will happen, and is random. Dropping to low HP isn't common on particular classes, and is avoidable with safe playstyles. You won't avoid initiative rolls in any sane Pathfinder game.

Pretty flimsy, logic for an subjectively correct statement. Which can be applied to Improved Initiative as well. If you don't have any combat in a session like say a political intrigue game then improved initiative will have had no effect on the game.

Sorry you can't come put with a decent rebuttal.

>tfw every Barbarian you've ever seen at the table was the designated new player so no one else knows what an optimized barb looks like

If you came out better in turn-order, because if everyone has improved initiative or a flat out better dexterity than you then it effectively did nothing.

You won't avoid any HP damage in any sane Pathfinder game either.

>Seems like your argument assumes you will either never drop below 11 HP unless you get one-shotted.

This is my argument, yes. How many times have you been hit into negatives? If you've never been into your negatives, then you've never been hit hard enough to need toughness.

Toughness isn't SUPER UTTER GARBAGE that is was in 3.5 (lol 3 hp) but there are a lot of other feats that that would have probably prevented more damage by damage mitigation, avoidance or terminating enemies before they attack.

Well she's got that evasion for fort saves thing
>>
>>51462713
You have control over your HP danger level and it's not universal for all classes. Initiative is random and WILL happen over the course of the character's lifespan. Even if it never ever had an effect even one time, it ALWAYS had a chance to.

Initiative not being rolled in a Pathfinder CAMPAIGN is an extreme misuse of the system, fuck off if you don't want to talk about Pathfinder here.

>This is my argument, yes. How many times have you been hit into negatives? If you've never been into your negatives, then you've never been hit hard enough to need toughness.

And it's flawed, it's not impossible to be dropped below 11 HP, or put into negatives without being one-shotted. You must've had some easy-going GMs.

>Toughness isn't SUPER UTTER GARBAGE that is was in 3.5 (lol 3 hp) but there are a lot of other feats that that would have probably prevented more damage by damage mitigation, avoidance or terminating enemies before they attack.

Like what? Name a feat with no prerequisites that allow damage mitigation, avoidance, or terminating enemies before they attack.

>>51462747
Actually your GM has control over your "HP danger level", so I guess if you're never in any real danger you don't need toughness or improved initiative. HP isn't random but everything in the game has it, and the more you have the more punishment you can take if presented with an unfavorable scenario. Even if never ever had an effect even one time, it ALWAYS has a chance to.

I would love to talk about pathfinder, but it's just as amusing ask how exactly would you make me fuck off if I didn't?

>Pretty flimsy, logic for an subjectively correct statement. Which can be applied to Improved Initiative as well. If you don't have any combat in a session like say a political intrigue game then improved initiative will have had no effect on the game.
>Sorry you can't come put with a decent rebuttal.
You're correct, but for most characters who do go through combat, the number of times you roll initiative is much greater compared to the number of times you drop below 0 HP.

You could potentially go through a campaign without needing to roll perception, but chances are that you WILL be asked to roll for it.

Improved initiative. Go faster than your enemies and kill them first. They can't do damage to you if they're dead.

How useful is poison?
>>
>>51463386

More useful against PCs then anything
>>
>>51463386
Poison is debilitating and generally takes time to work to its full potential. PCs generally kill things and continue on their way, because trying to escape from things and coming back later is more likely to get you hurt bad.

As such, it's most effective on things that will attack en masse and don't care about casualties to things that will keep fighting on.

Ie mooks vs player characters.

The only other situational use for poison is for mass attacks on enemy stockpiles where one can get a large number of enemies at once.
>>
>>51463386
If you're an NPC, it's very useful. It kills people "off-screen", or directly fucks with PCs to hamper them for the next encounter.

If you're a PC? MOST opportunities to use poison mean little more than giving the other side several rounds to kill you back instead of neutralizing them, and the IMPORTANT NPCs, not dying "off-screen" to your actions because you're always "there", will be immune or protected in some way.

It makes you look like the bad guy, and like most status effects in old console Final Fantasy games, it only ever really works on you and not the enemies, but when it does work on them, you would've killed them casting Fire II instead.

Why is art of a symbiote so hard to find? Im never going to be able to find it in time for the assassin game

Ugh, now one of those people is commenting on the SoM doc who thinks that Paizo was infallible when they made crossbow feats shit.

Quick, tell the devs not to listen to this guy, or they'll be turned into mindless paizodrones!
