In a bit of a bind here. One of my players wants to have a suit of Mithral full plate crafted for him, but I have no idea what a reasonable price would be to quote. This is my first time DMing. Any advice would be appreciated. We're playing 5e in Faerun (because I'm unoriginal), if that matters.

Sounds like about 20,000 dollars. What system OPI know 'assume D&D,' but D&D doesn't have fucking mythril.

I appreciate the fast response, but I said at the end

Also D&D does have Mithral. The rules for it are in the DMG, just no prices.

Guess I'll bump with character art that I saved from /tg/

The DMG says Mithral Armor is an Uncommon item. Such an item is priced between 100 and 500 gold.
Pick somewhere in that range and add it to the price of the base armor. So anywhere from 1600 gp to 2000 gp.
Modify price to suit (hue) how much you actually want him to have it now.

Oh. Thanks a lot for the fast response. Apparently I'm retarded because I didn't even think to use that formula.

They're level 6, so I think a suit of +0 mithral full plate should be okay. The Cleric who wants it is swimming in gold because he sells everything he finds.
Likelihood of any smith having enough Mithril to make a set of full plate is virtually nil.
Finding enough becomes a good recurring quest theme, though

This is the issue right here. Mithril is super rare. They'll need to visit a specialist in a major metropolis to have this done, or a fucking dwarf hold or an elven keep or something. Make something fun out of it and be sure to give the other players something for going along and helping the cleric

A good habit would be to avoid setting up magic shops. I mean, I get that this IS D&D, but try not to just give anything to the players in exchange for GP. Rare items require quests, and you can't just waddle into any village marketplace and waddle out laden with magical gear simply because you had the dosh for it.
