Pick a d&d setting. What non-d&d system would you use to run that setting and what would the campaing premise be?
For example, Eberron using Savage Worlds. The campaing is all about exploring Xendric trying to get a powerful artifact that would allow House Cannith to create a new kind of powerful warforged.
Another example could be Dark Sun using GURPS, trying to emulate the harsh lives of caravan guards driving off raiders from trading rutes.

Probably FantasyCraft, because I like both of those things.

I love Fantasycraft too, it's awesome for eberron

Spelljammers and use Traveller for the system. To better catch the feeling of the dangers that lurk in space travel

FantasyCraft is pretty much D&D though, so that's kinda cheating.
I once ran a Planescape adventure using (a very lightly modified) Mouse Guard.

I've always thought Burning Wheel would be a good fit for Planescape, and Mouse Guard is essentially Burning Wheel Basic. How did that go?
Maximum X-Crawl would be an awesome "powered by the apocalypse" game. Maybe a weird cross between Dungeon World and World Wide Wrestling.

Dark Sun under Harnmaster. Makes the setting more brĂ¼tal.

It went well, I think. Had no idea how to do magic so just asked the guy who wanted to be a wizard to have a '[school of magic]er' trait. Probably not the best way to do it but it was alright. I'll have to try the proper Burning Wheel one day, see how flexible it is.

Ravenloft with Unknown Armies or Delta Green.
I've seen a fanmade Fate/Planescape pdf on /tg before.
What would do a good job with that or Dark Sun? Generic systems (Fate, BRP, Savage Worlds) aside. What would facilitate the setting's themes or at least not work against them? (e.g. I don't think GUMSHOE would make a good fit for most Dark Sun games.)
