Misunderstandings about wolf pack structure and the idea of being an alpha/lone wolf.

People think "lone wolves" are cool because they don't know that's actually a death sentence for a shitty wolf that can't cooperate, or they think the Alpha/Beta shit is how it actually works. Wolves are "wild" but because of dogs they're recognizable and slightly more relate-able than other animals, so they're scary while also potentially not. There's some kind of noble association from putting nature on a pedestal, too.

Humanity's view of wolves is a massive game of telephone that resulted in retards identifying with a mangled image that's "so totally me."

Give it a chance. If it works, then nothing further needed.

Remember, the game is for fun. He wants that, help him out with it.
Don't be cruel and just dismiss it as autistic. Be a human who actually helps.

Honestly in telling the story I glossed over a lot of the cat stuff. It was small pervasive things. Would not shut up about cats, found ways to interject cats into things all the time. There was never a session where cats did not come up repeatedly, often at inappropriate times, but I ended up telling the other story rather than that though. Honestly the cat thing wasn't that interesting and i don't remember the specifics, I just remember that the cat autism drove me up the wall almost as much as this whole thing did. Which is why when I saw the post about cats I decided to put in my two cents, but when you asked for story time and I got going this is what I could remember. German Shepards are pretty clean.

Personally I recommend them to just about anyone who wants a dog. Loyal and incredibly intelligent. Main downside though is even if you train them well they have a habit of being very protective towards you and your family, which can make them pretty unfriendly to strangers and especially other dogs. That and they have a lot of issues with their hips at later life. An old German Shepard often can barely stand, which is fucking depressing.
