Have any of your characters used harlot sweets?
>>
>>51361014
Like an actual chicken from the farm, or a coward? Because the latter is pretty common for my characters! The former has only happened from my Chosen One Paladin, whose familiar was a rooster from the coop that started talking to her and told her to go out killing demons for Erastil.

>Have you ever played a chicken?
No, but the topic of Chicken Infested came up with my group just a few minutes ago.

Let's talk about Healer's Handbook a bit more. Take a look at Unconquerable Resolve, which is a combat feat that grants you Temp HP and scales with your total HD. It wouldn't be particularly effective, but how dumb would a Samurai 1/Fighter 19 be that took all of his feats as Unconquerable Resolve just so he could get 400 Temp HP as an immediate action when he's brought to 0 HP?
>>
>>51361443
Why does everything have to be 'lewd'. God fucking dammit. I don't want watch fat neckbeards go 'tee hee I tripped and showed my panties' or want to hear about their fucking fetishes. Jesus fucking christ why can't we have a game that isn't either 'lewd' or fucking offal anime shitposting.

>>
>>51361707
POTENTIAL of lewd. If you actually read it, or visit the IRC like a smart person, the GM's explained it better.
>>

>>
>>51361731
I honestly can't see myself joining a lewd campaign. I'd like to play in a serious, non-lewd one but my apps never get picked. It's depressing, to say the least.
>>
>>51361928

I was surprised I was picked. But most people are not really doing lewd so I am okay with it.

I would still app. Especially to one where it says lewds are optional or side room. Cause that just means you can do it if you want outside of the main session and you dont have to be a part of that.
>>
>>51361721
Anon, if you don't want anything of that in your game, come here:

>>
>>51362218

Why does it disappear when I try to open it?
>>
what APs people like usually?
>>
>>51362238
You might need to keep it open for a second to let it load.
>>
>>51362220
Oh? That still going, by chance? What do you think of the cast of the second HV game?
>>
>>51362266
APs I have played:
>Rise of the Runelords
>Curse of the Crimson Throne
>Second Darkness
>Council of Thieves
>Kingmaker
>Carrion Crown
>Jade Regent
>Skull and Shackles
>Shattered Star
>Reign of Winter
>Wrath of the Righteous
>Iron Gods
>Giant Slayer
>Hell's Rebels
>Hell's Vengeance

I played them nearly in order so it's been a long time since I played some, but if I had to rate my top 5 in terms of story it'd be:

>Iron Gods
>Curse of the Crimson Throne
>Reign of Winter
>Shattered Star
>Council of Thieves

And the 5 worst written:
>Giant Slayer
>Skull & Shackles
>King Maker
>Carrion Crown
>Hell's Rebels

Strengths of Top 5:
>Iron Gods
A real sense of adventure and unique experience in golarion. The enemy actually feels frightening and oppressive, and you interact with a very unique setting in golarion. The story itself is one that I have to say is absolutely fantastic, especially for the entire last arc with the divinity drive.

>CotCT
Well written urban adventure with an interesting cast of characters. Suffers from a few plot holes that can be fixed with little effort however.

>Reign of Winter
Another sort of High Adventure game which had a very strange and entertaining second half.

>Shattered Star
Best villain

>Council of Thieves
Another urban romp. People bash it because of apparent lack of stakes. I agree that that stakes aren't high, but I don't find it an issue. It's high personal stakes low wider impact, sort of the difference between Jojo Part 3 and 4.
>>
>>51362310

I was too down my character was passed over in favor of a double caster gestalt.
>>
>>51362334
Giantslayer and Hell's Rebels really that bad?
I get Skulls, Carrion Crown and Kingmaker
>>
>>51362334
Now, just for giggles.

Strengths of the worst 5 and weaknesses of the top 5.
>>
>>51362334
How do you feel about Second Darkness? I hardly ever hear people talk about it.
>>
>>51362365
Giantslayer has good encounter design. I just don't like the story.
>>
Have the characters for the PbP RotJR been picked yet? If so who got in?
>>
>>51362377

>>
>>51362218
>heal Con mod d6 per day
What a pile of shit.
>>
So recently I've been having my paladin use both Bloodsap and Harlot Sweets.

My GM says that using drugs is immoral.

I'm confused on this. My characters makes the narcotics himself, not purchases them from someone. Why would they be any more immoral than alcohol? I haven't taken a vow to not take narcotics.

Hell I'm a Cayden Cailean paladin.
>>
>>51362346
Well, the GM did say he wanted a full caster for the last slot.

Hey, we both got passed over though. Something to drink to, eh?
>>
>>51362398
All of them.

>>
>>51362464
wait
how the fuck are you cayden paladin anyway
or are you just lip service faithful
>>
>>51362334
The problem with Shattered Star is that it shoehorns lovecraftnian elements in one of its chapters and really feels out of place for that.
Still, is great fun for veteran dungeon crawlers.
>>
>>51362464
NANI?!
>>
>>51362497
The GM to start out relaxed the Paladin's alignment requirements to be NG/LG/LN. I'm a NG paladin of Cayden Cailean.
>>

>>
>>51363093
>4chan
>doing anything besides fail
Katawa Shoujo was a fluke. An exception to the rule. All four parties will fail. Some more spectacularly then others, but none will finish.
>>
>>51363122
I just want them to last long enough for Seht and Onryou to end up married
>>
>>51363093
Guessing the PbP groups will probably fall apart the quickest. Normal PbPs are already pretty prone to death, and running tabletop through it has never worked out well in my experience.
>>
>>51363093
>>51363122
it's not about reaching the end, it's about the journey. Or some bullshit like that, I don't know, I just want to actually play the game and have a grand ol' time with some fellow faggots. I don't much care about meme potential, since Onryou is where the thread's obsessions will be focused.
>>
>>51363187

>>
>>51363202
>tfw no mic
>>
>>51362998
>batum-tish
>>
>>51363202
Naturally. Voice is faster and helps the game go smoother.
>>51363221
That's not even a huge problem as long as at least most of the players have voice. Just have to make sure that everyone takes those that need to type into consideration.

I find that text emotes are mostly used, even with voice.
>>
>>51363202
Voice for OOC stuff and text for IC stuff is my preferred method.

Voice only works with extroverts and the like. Not everyone has good mics/range of voices.
>>
>>51362365
Nah, HR isn't that bad: the first three books( PARTICULARLY the second, holy shit) need a bit of rewriting, but I find the last 3 books pretty cool, and the first three still have several cool moments and ideas, if a bit underdeveloped.
It's a nice urban campaign that requires some work to be great, so the advice I can give is that unless your players really like the sneakyness and organization building (of which the first has to be edited in, mind you) to just go with Curse for urban goodness.

Giantslayer, from what I've heard, is just really plain, and if you want something more classical you are better served by going with Rise of the Runelords or Shattered Star.

Help /pfg/, I have one hour to figure out how to make a royal ball interesting in some way for my players. The job is a hit on the head of some noble house (the hostess actually), so they're at least going there with a purpose, but if it takes a long time, there are probably going to be a handful of players waiting around for like an hour for the the rogue or bard to get it done.
>>
>>51363291

Royal balls live or die on your ability to roleplay courtiers and guests that can hold conversations with each party member.

That's because modules in AD&D and modules in Pf had different design philosophy not to mention were made with very different settings and assumptions in mind.

Hard to say, mostly because I'm not In the games so I won't really get a good idea what the characters motivations become.

The easiest answer is what ever the players see fit. Some my have their characters settle down, some may swear themselves to Amieko at the end becoming her royal guard , and some my take to the wind, thinking their character would be happier journeying the world while their still young.

Also actual spoiler in there, even if it's a bit on the light side.

Eeeyup. Paizo has a soft rule of alternating one "Weird" AP and one "Normal" AP: when all goes well, you get Russian Fairytale TARDIS adventures for the first and fairly classical dungeon crawling with different spins for the latter. When things go bad, you get Wrath of the Righteous and Serpent Skull.

Moving forward with The Revolution of Corkheel Square I have ended up completely doing the factions within the revolution.

I realized that the current ones did not fit the setting well enough, and as I have drawn the map and put the culture of Desmon together some clear ideas have emerged.

I have settled upon the revolution have 5 major factions, and 4 minor ones. The five major factions correspond to TN, CN, LN, NG, and NE while the four minor sit out on alignment extremes.

Some of the ones that have emerged are the following:
Major:
>The Pestov Consortium
An organization of Vodyanoy businesses, mainly shipping, that are used as a front to hide a lucrative business of smuggling. This smuggling comes down largely to narcotics and other contraband, especially illegal magic items. The leader of the Consortium is reportedly Isiver Pestov, an ancient Vodyanoy adept in their archaic racial art of soul capture. Rumor says this is both how he has kept himself alive far beyond his mortal years and how he commands so much terror from his subordinates. The Consortium control a large amount of business in the Canker Harbor. Rumor has it the Consortium have allied themselves to the Young Republic to increase their market share.

>The Canker Fleet
One of Desmon's two military naval powers. The Canker Fleet has always been the less equipped, less respected, and less considered of the two. When Corkheel declared independence they found an unlikely ally in the Vertok of the Canker Fleet, who offered the young republic a possibility of a military to support their ailing urban poor. Though their ships are old and dilapidated they form the most organized outfit among the the republic.

>>51364065
If I find myself able to, this summer I would stream all the related /tg/ movies possible.
>>
>>51364143
>The Giben Tree's Council
The largest faction among the young republic. The council meets each evening before the great Giben Tree that has cracked the cobble stones of Corkheel Square. For hours each evening they debate and shout with one another over affairs of the young republic, and each evening they conduct the hangings of captured blue bloods, noble sympathizers, and others who wish harm to the republic. Within their hearts burns the call of revolution.

Minor:

>Morg's Block
The Kikimora ghetto was one of the first to rise up, the most destitute among the city's people were the first to throw stones against the unjust mass execution. Since then the Kikimora have gathered around three cultural leaders, claiming the republic will allow their meek people to inherent a new and better life.

>Coven of Mirbol
Within the depths of Torque Town, Desmon's stranger red light district, are the flesh shapers. These magi were originally employed as correctional officers by the government of Desmon, but have since been scorned and cast off. Instead they apply their trade punishing the enemies of crime bosses and creating the strange delights of Torque Town. Within their hearts they still hold the anger of their predecessors who were brought low by those of Desmon's elite, and joined the republic for a chance at their former master's throats.

For reference the alignments of the organizations thus far have been, in order:
NE
LN
TN

CG
LE

NG, LG, CN and CE left.

>factions listed by alignments
>factions having alignments instead of generally what they're operations are at the moment
oh shit nigga what are you doing
>>
>>51364324
>oh shit nigga what are you doing
Large factions have a predominant alignment. In the actual book I was not planning on listing these alignments, but the spirit of the different organizations generally follow these alignments.

Also in the subsystem I have been planning for it faction predominant alignment can change depending on events.

The power struggle between the 9 factions (5 major, 4 minor) decides the alignment of the revolution as a whole. If you shift a particular faction alignment this has a huge effect of the revolution's alignment.

So basically the alignments are to support the Revolution subsystem and are more for GMs than players. They help gauge and track triggered events.
>>
>>51364382
For instance if the players do a lot to support the Canker Fleet and the Coven of Mirbol the Revolution as a whole begins to shift towards Lawful. After a certain threshold of Lawful is achieved The Deneheinian Empire sends an ambassador to the young Republic.

Then the players assassinate the current leader of the Coven of Mirbol and install a new guy, the new guy is LN rather than LE. This shifts Mirbol to LN and shifts the entire revolution upwards.

This also triggers events.

The campaign is set up so there is a timeline and each day there are events. Depending on the scores for the revolution's overall health, and the different faction's influence different events occur.
>>
>>51364382
>>51364422

Eeeh. I'd have gone for different political systems at the end of it rather than alignments, but that's actually a pretty good explanation along with which factions would be nominally linked. I don't necessarily agree with aiding similarly lawful factions necessarily leading to similar results overall, but I can see what you're going for. Ambitious and pretty smooth.
>>
>>51364422
This was my concept of how to design an AP so each play through offers something unique. Unless you support the same factions each time the AP has a number of different events you experience.

As well there will be static events that occur and fail conditions. If the Revolution's overall influence goes to low you could experience riots, a counter attack by the Desmon nobility, and more.

There are time dependent events (can occur anywhere between some date markers), one day events (only can be triggered one day under certain conditions), time independent events (can happen any time under the right conditions), and static events (always occur).
>>
>>51364465
> I'd have gone for different political systems at the end of it rather than alignments
This was my original intention, but found it a lot harder to write for. I could run that myself, but didn't think that if I handed off a book to someone else it'd be easy to run for them.
>>
>>51364469
It already sounds a hell of a lot better than Hell's Vengeance. As someone who GMs interlinking stuff like this, that sort of table would really help out.
>>
>>51364465
>I don't necessarily agree with aiding similarly lawful factions necessarily leading to similar results overall
Oh and to speak to this. There are both events that are triggered by thresholds of revolution alignment/strength and ones that require specific events.

So one I had planned called The Battle of Blue Harbor requires you both to be a lawful revolution and specifically do events for The Canker Fleet.

So your revolution has the following stats:
>9 stats, 1 for each faction
>1 overall strength
>4 alignment stats

I have considered dividing strength into a few smaller ones, but though there was enough already. I would divide it into "Influence, Morale, and Strength".

It's not particularly bad for someone with martial flexibility in a group with few casters. In fact, Combat Vigor and Curative Mastery are great as they allow the Fighter-Caster to get either self-healing (important) and the ability to potentially resurrect an ally who has fallen in combat (less important).

Heck, Orc Ferocity on a Half-Orc makes Combat Vigor not a bad deal for any class that doesn't have access to self-healing or positive energy channeling, because they can still take standard actions below 0 HP if I remember correctly.

>>
>>51364819
RoW is my vote.
>>
>>51364526
Honestly, now you've laid it out in greater detail and it actually has a mechanical effect more than just being fluff for the factions, that's a hell of a lot more well laid out, in a manner that provides a lot of replayability and guides GM in a mostly organic manner. That's the sort of planning that should go into an AP.

Having said that, are there clauses in each event for everyone being slaughtered by the players?
>>
>>51364713
It's a feat tax for classes that cannot afford them. martials can't afford to spend feats on things like this without impairing their ability to do damage, the sole exception being fighters.

So it's a great idea that should be a class ability for fighters and cavaliers, a Talent for Rogues and Investigators, and a feat for anyone else.

You mean like an event is completed in an evil way or some such? Or if one of the nine factions is wiped out by the players?

For the first there are events that have basically "if you did so and so this occurs to the revolution". I can't think of everything a party might do, but have written guidelines of how to respond and how to adjust things. Lots of killing generally results in a lessened effect on the good side, a loss of morale, but often an increase in strength or influence.

As well events inside of events do things. One can be working for The Pestov Consortium and happen to find a prisoner that Morg's Block cares about. You can withhold the prisoner to make sure Morg's Block doesn't gain influence or balance things out by giving it to Morg's Block. Or hand the prisoner over to someone else to maybe get stuff there.

As for the second I have guidelines for a faction being wiped out.

>>
>>51365009
And yet it's still so much better than Hell's Vengeance, where you can't do anything but accelerate the timetable of the rebellion.

APs are always video gamey, and it's the GM's job to make them less gamey.

One way to do that is to make different things happen, and he's totally got that down. The players won't see it be video gamey if they don't see the stats behind the events.

The latter is literally just the GM given a character, so you don't even have to personify it or anything if you don't want to. Everything else is developed with the players.

Homebrewing is not that hard. You just have to make stuff up as the party goes along, and make sure you write everything down and organize it in ways that makes sense.

Using your players to provide assistance through their backstories is also helpful.

No idea yet! I was sorta hoping it'd come out as I flesh out the setting. I didn't want the whole setting to be about the campaign, but I'm not sure how much that matters if it's only used in one campaign.

>>51366075
How is Eberron cancer?

I have a feeling it might not be what I want, but I don't know enough about it or the possible homebrew to really say

Only weapon dice and static boosts are multiplied by crits.

So, the strength and power-attack and enhancement bonuses, yes. The greatsword's 2d6, obviously. But +1d6 fire or a conductive discharge, no.

If you make your weapon bigger though, those weapon dice are still just the weapon dice.

Chickens are an adventurer's best friend. Toss em in a dungeon to find traps. Chuck em to distract monsters. Strap bags on them and turn them into pack chickens. Harvest eggs and tendies from them for food. Worried about thieves looting you and your party while you sleep? Love to see them try to tip-toe past the two dozen chickens we've tied on a leash to ourselves as a makeshift alarm. They also make good barter items when you encounter stuff that doesn't use money.

Memorising memes and repeating them in a slavish attempt to fit in is a sign of autism.

Maybe it takes place in a setting where all native races are monogendered and reproduce through spores.

Maybe the society in the setting is highly patriarchal or extremely primitive, or rigidly caste based.

Maybe I want to keep shithawks out of the game.

So yes or no?
>>
>>51367365
So is it actually an in setting reason, or is because you can't stand the thought of a competently played female character?
