>mfw I'm doing world building for a modernistic fantasy setting and you realise that the equivalent of cavaliers would be paladins with quasi-alive and/or awakened motorcycles
I'm gonna have to name themKnightridersaren't it?

If you haven't seen Knightriders (1981), I suggest that you do so immediately. Not quite awakened bikes, but definitely in the same ballpark as what you're describing.

yes you must, its obligatory at this point.
you just dont come on /tg/ saying things like that and not expect people to jump on top of it saying its a good idea
How are the motorcycles going to act? Will they be good/bad, or will they be like horses, or both?

>The Softail, an old grizzled bike. It's first owner was a hairy, short-tempered straight talker. It will react poorly to decals, cautious driving and excessive cleaning and maintenance.
>The Dyna, fairly mellow in that it's first owner was just an average guy. Can be slow to get the revs up and deliver power, but willing to go the extra mile when it's needed. Easy to handle and welcomes a second passenger.
>The Sportster, quick and restless, always eager to impress after it's owner was the same, typically the first bike a rider gets. Always wanting to go faster, take corners a little too sharply with a throttle that twists a little too easy and a brake that engages just a little too slowly.
>The Indian Scout, a good dependable one. Knows what is expected of them and can be trusted to deliver the goods when it counts. Solemn and serious beyond it's years, typically competitive with the Sportster if only to show it is the better of the two.
>The Indian Chief, stately, slow to action but big and when roused fully can be truly a sight to behold.

Let me guess.
Their archrivals will be the Hell Truckers.
