As to killing Orcs, it's a mix of Dark Souls and WW2: on one hand you have to dodge like a motherfucker or turn into a bloody mess, weave around him and apply as many wounds as you can. On the other hand, your side might lose on a 1v1 most of the time, but you outnumber the big guys quite a bit.

Remember, the only time pre-Thrall Horde got any shit done was when the humans were unprepared and when Orgrim kept them in line with an iron fist (leaving the siege of Lordaeron was a mistake though, but I can understand his perspective).

Additionally, humans have a more advanced, professional approach to war, while the orcs are less organised, trained, and have a huge pride issue that gets them into a lot of trouble that could have been avoided by being reasonable. Despite all that they still managed to trample everything between the Black Morass and Lordaeron once, that's a good job in my book.

Humans only need some good plate in order not to get smashed and slashed by the orks weapon, a huge spear formation to stop an Ork charge in its tracks, and longbows/ crossbows to kill them and soften them up. Also having some artillery for psychological effect helps.

Larger fighters have the advantage with striking at range and by virtue of having larger limbs to swing around get more force behind their hits. Headcanon is that the primary difference between the two is that humans have far more stamina.

The movie made The Orcs into literal giants twice or even three times the size and mass of their Human counterparts, which made the actual combat scenes look ridiculous.

When hunched, orcs are similar in height to humans. But even in the second video, Thrall is still taller than Varian.

Lorewise, orc males are on average 7ft tall while human males are 6ft. For the most part, this is represented in cinematics when the orc is allowed to stand up straight (like they're supposed to) as well as in the movies. The issue with the movies is that only Lothar's actor was 6ft and he wasn't built like an actual Warcraft human but a regular one, so the humans look even smaller.

This has to consider however, that there are about a dozen human males in the world that aren't built like fridges made of meat and bone. The Humans in the Warcraft movie were the worst thing about it, because they looked ridiculously small in comparison. I'm not averse to that mind you, but they stood out noticeably.

The real problem seemed to be that it just looked like there was no way Humans could've survived a single encounter with Orcs.

Lothar was all "Fight Smart", but given that an Orc seemed perfectly capable of lifting up a war horse (which can weigh, on average, upwards of a thousand pounds) and throw it, then a single strike from an Orc would likely rip a guy's arm off, shield or not.

The movie seemed like it was trying to address this with the gunpowder weapons especially in the final battle, but they were used for about a single volley before being ignored in favor of swords and shields.

Also as someone mentioned above, the Orcs' height seemed all over the place. Sometimes they looked ten feet tall, other times they looked around 6 feet tall.

He has muscle for what he needs to do. The muscles that are actually working are ripped as fuck, because muscle is actually a magical force that makes you faster the more you have, as long as it's the muscle actually doing the job.
If an orc tried to kick or punch you with those tree trunks they call limbs, those limbs would come at you at alarming speed and hit like a truck. They probably couldn't run terribly fast while having to drag all that muscle that's doing nothing, but they don't need to. They just need to move the limb holding the sword.

The downside to comic book hypertrophy is that unless their respiratory system is also significantly more robust and efficient, those muscles need more air than they can get. He'll get tired very quickly.

There is a form to sprinting that works out the upper body, especially the torso, but it isn't helping nearly as much to generate forward motion. They'll get ripped, but it won't add much to their speed.
