DMing my first session of d&d on Sunday but I'm drawing blanks on what to throw at the characters.
There's a spy character that I want to have give quests for the party to do. What's some good spy-like quests for five level 2 players to do? Please help me guys

The party's friendly neighbourhood bakery har been burglared and the super secret creampie recipe has been stolen!
Are they bad enough dudes to gather intelligence on whodunnit, sneak into the rivaling bakery(bakeries) and and find out who stole the recipe?
Add gingerbreadmen, cookiemonsters and rats in the basements as you see fit.
Roleplay focused:
Spy knows that there is a dangerous criminal in a particular tavern. The criminal is aware of his identity and has obscured its own appearance. Fond the criminal.
Combat:
An upstart lord hired some tunneling kobolds to ruin the warehouses of another lord. The spy needs some agents that cannot be connected to him to stop them.
Dress up as another band of rival rogues and create a big mess and frame them in order to benefit the spy character's agendas.
A local merchant lord is holding a party and the spy has intel that someone or other will attempt to murder an important trade contact or foreign dignitary or some such at the event, which will destabilize the economy of the whole city if the merchant loses favour.
local guards or trade guild people might be in on it, so he needs fresh faces to investigate and foil the event.

*Fondle the criminal.
There, fixed.
A serial killer is on the loose in the city.
The spy needs the party to kill a certain individual and make it look like it's another victim of the serial killer.
To make it convincing, they will first have to gather details on how exactly the other murders happened.
You can have them find out who the killer is and stop him, have them gather the info on how it was done, only for the spy to contract someone else to do the murder, or maybe have the murderer come for them, preferably one at the time.
