I backed the Kickstarter and received the books about a month ago, but I haven't had a chance to play it.
The books are very nice, very well-designed and the translation is good. I just got an email today about an upcoming art book, and I think they are planning a few supplements.
Symbaroum is fucking great. Buy it. Now. Don't download a free pdf online, throw your money at Jarnringen as hard as you can.
The translation is really good, but at the same time reads like a translation, which somehow makes it even better. The book feels like you're reading an old, mythical manuscript.
All that being said, it is really easy to break the game, and because of this powergamers will cream themselves looking at the ability options. Also, paradoxically, the rules are fairly abstract while still being crunchy. You absolutely need to have the right group to play it with because the GM needs his players to act in good faith and create characters that are interesting and not just beatsticks.
