Alalda, who's family had perished, was rescued by a Beautarian fighter as the city fell. She was just a small orphan girl and nobody knew who her family was, so she was named Firemourn after the loss of the city and so many in it. She was taught to ride, shoot and fight by Princess Kayla's bodyguards. Once it was discovered that Alalda had strong magical potential, she was set on the path of becoming a battlemage. Her supreme beauty has led many suitors her way, but her devotion to the purging of all detritus has caused her to reject all approaches.

Alalda specializes in healing magic and protection magic, but her hatred for detritus has given her the power to unleash powerful holy flames upon the twisted, perverse creatures. From atop her flying mount she scans for where her healing and wards are needed and swoops down to provide aid. In the meantime, she casts light spells and snipes at detritus with her musket from the air. When the fighting gets tough, she's also able to smite enemies up close and cut through the monsters with her blades.

For Monster Hunter, does a combination of Rekindle, Primal Power, Iron Body, and Overdrive work?

I'm thinking of making basically a flame focuses battlemage who is essentially constantly burning himself up for more power. Primal Power means that you cast from stamina, and Iron Body drains stamina, but Rekindle is elemental magic that replenishes your stamina. So basically by drawing on his own inner fire, he's constantly buffing himself to replenish his own mana and reinforce his body. Which is good, because he's also constantly tearing his body apart using Overdrive, and then using Rekindle to heal the damage.

Do you mean regarding the D&D part? I have examples for the other things later. The D&D thing is pretty general by its very nature so getting specific is hard, but starting out with race/class/attributes from the get-go seems like a bad idea, not because there's something wrong with the ones you've got (though I could pick at each of them individually) but because there's nothing there to be worth it. Rather than a lack of problems, there should be something that justifies their inclusion in the first place. And right now I'm not seeing it.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, so I'm going cautiously say that I don't think that's what I meant, but I could be wrong because I don't actually know what you meant by this. My initial point was that the name should describe the function of the attribute. You retorted that the attribute in this case is fictional, which is true, and I pointed out that "mana" is a fictional word to describe this fictional thing, and that you're already using it in the description anyway, which makes it a good candidate for the name. And I pointed out that "mind" has a meaning unrelated to its usage here, which confuses its usage in your CYOA since when people see "mind" they tend to think "mind" rather than "mana".

I'd be game for playing with and teaching a godling, as well as being a Guinea Pig for mostly harmless Phenomenal Cosmic Powers and such. Teaching shouldn't be too hard, as long as the godling is patient and not too unreasonable with the questions. Same with playing, as long as it doesn't get bored of games too quickly and isn't fussy about my story selections. As for the random magical hijinks, so as long as I avoid making strict time commitments and pay my bills ahead of time, I should be able to manage.

That should net me 3 boons and 2 favor a year, plus another boon every three months, plus the initial free one.
My first boon would be for Income, with all the tri-month boons wishing for the same. If I'm going to spend time playing with a god and being its guinea pig, I need to insure my livelihood..
My first year's three boons would be for Lucky, and Divine Gift (fifty-two presents a year, should be fun openning them up).
2nd year: all three tiers of Health
I guess I'll play it by ear after that; hard to know what'll be good to have in a divinely influenced future.

If things really go well enough, maybe we could even set out to look for its toy (Lost and Found). I'd want to buff up a bit with boons before heading out to do dangerous stuff, though. Until then, mostly comfy times ahead!

Sixteen would be fine. There's nothing really wrong with having a lot of attributes, given your design. The problem is purely how they interact with marks. You have multiple attributes appearing in two different marks, and a bunch appearing not even once, making it impossible to get them at gold or silver level. Actually, I think that the mechanical nature of marks (what it is that they do) is probably at fault here, and it would be a whole lot easier to design around if they were stand-alone powers and didn't interact with the attributes.

Naming and descriptions, though, should be your biggest concern, or perhaps second biggest after the design of the CYOA itself, but definitely one that takes more time if you're doing it well. That means that these things should be clear, distinct, and evocative. A name should mean the thing that it represents, and a description should do so as well, encompassing the important aspects of the option while engaging the imagination. Getting all that done isn't easy to do, and even the best writers can't manage it in a couple seconds.

If you intend some to be worse options, your design here is deceptive. And the layout just lumps them all together in one field, reinforcing the illusion of equality.

E grave theming bonus?

The goal is to hit things really hard with a really, really heavy stick. The staff is enchanted to cast Force spells more powerfully even though there isn't a lot I can do with it just yet. Being a drop strike trooper is exactly what I want to be doing: breaking up enemy formations and getting right into the thick of things. To be honest I am kind of worried about my survivability but that just gives me all the reason to fight harder. Judith is a fellow Knight of Dust and we get along well enough to make good drop partners. She's a bit more precise than I am and has a different suite of magical powers so we complement each other well. Irène similarly fits well into our combat style. She can blast away providing ranged support and Judith and I will be there to control the Detritus and take advantage of the openings she makes.

Search and Rescue

Exactly what I want to be doing. Judith and I won't be dropping in, instead we'll creep up on the surroundings the old fashioned way and figure out a rough plan of action. The basic idea is going to be getting the attention of the Detritus and clearing the area carefully before making contact with the family. If things go south, Judith will fight her way outside of the area and clear a path for extraction. Irène will stay between the two of us and keep the path clear of Detritus. I'll get to the family and rush them out of the area, meeting up with my companions as I go.

I finally pick up a ranged attack action and some proper Divine magic. My favorite way of flinging large projectiles with Inertia is to levitate them up and knock them flying with my hammer, imparting more force into them with my staff's enchantment.

Irène has really come into her own as a sorceress in our adventures. Both more powerful and more measured in her application of force she is a versatile and dependable part of the team. She's still squishy though.

Once again, exactly what I'm good for. Put me in a breach next to my companions and I guarantee it'll hold. Irène and Haude will cover our backs and pick off fliers while Ève, Judith and I throw the detritus back and look for an opening to strike out at a Det-Sori. An effective tactic will be pulling back from an exterior wall and letting the detritus fill the open space. Judith and I get to our mounts, launch into the air, and drop into the previously open breach. We keep it sealed while other battlemages pick off the bottled up detritus.

Here it is. Really do wish I could have manged to get Ascension + Apostles before now for the coordination boost but I think we can make do without it. Akra is definitely taking the lead on this one but the rest of us aren't going to be able to slouch by on her work alone. My plan, depending on the exact nature of the threat, is to drop down onto its head (or nearest analogue) from as high as possible, take my greathammer in both hands, and start slamming into it with the extra boost from Mass + Pound. I'm sure it'll take more than that but my team and I can figure it out.

Linking books are a convenient time-saver, but as an immortal you have plenty of time, and there's lots of other methods of fast travel. A comfortable place to sleep is cool, but you can make a camp on any world anyway, and set some manner of guard, and lots of worlds have powers for that kind of thing. Good, but not unique to the world and not really worth taking a whole world for.

Unless you're dying a lot, the immortality is inferior in all ways to Polyamora, which lets you not just be young and spry, but experience all of life, and is unique among the immortality methods in that you can actually improve your body (as opposed to just resetting it) via eugenics. Unfortunately that's about all Polyamora has to offer, and some people plan apparently do plan to die very often, so it's still a shit world.

Remember that every world has Native Dangers and Unwelcome Guest penalties until you spend at least two (or ten, or fifty) years there. A safe place to camp is crucial in some of the harsher worlds, unless you want to spend years just looking at it instead of actually exploring it. Plus you're quite likely to die a lot if you're actually doing enough exploration to progress at the maximum rate of point acquisition.
