is anyone familiar with the Maggoth Lord? I am planning on using that as a Great Unclean One, becuase the current GUO is hideous (not in the way a greater daemon of Nugle is supposed to be either), just a very poor model. The Maggoth Lord is slightly bigger but still fits on a 60mm base. I know I am at a bit of a disadvantage becuase it stands just a tad bit taller which means I will get shot at easier but i dont care. not a big tourney guy, just casual.

I run Death Guard and will be building allied Daemons of Nurgle. Seeing as how I havent bought the nurgle starter yet (kinda broke) I was curious if I ran this thing as a daemon prince, (again same base size and I am again at a slight disadvantage because it will be harder to hide) what wings should I use for now?

I was thinking possibly the manticore, but I am unsure just how big they are.

is anyone familiar with both the Maggoth Lord and the Manticore? Would the Manticores wings work for this guy?

Only the Wrathful Crusade formation which is Black Templars and Cadians.

We know that AdMech is getting relics plus "Grand Convocation" which is either their decurion or a rework of the WarConvo and SoB are getting relics and an "Imperial Crusade" detachment which is shared by the Black Templars who apparently get no relics but we'll see.

This isnt a book for Cadians, your spotlight may come after.

You literally just count the number of unsaved Wounds inflicted on each side.

The side that suffered more loses. They get a -1 to their Morale test for each Wound they lost by.

If the losing side is Fearless, usually in the case of Tyranids, then nothing happens.

Trying this again. I could really use some help constructing a Blood Angels list. I'm new, so I don't really know how good things are, but I like the look of the Archangels Orbital Intervention Force. My problem is that I can't get the Battle Demi-company to look threatening at all. Would it be better to pick the Archangels demi-company as my core?
I'd like an army that drops in with heavy shooting, then the Terminators deep strike and charge stuff, but would I be better off ditching the Angels Blade detachment?

Pods are for the Dreadnaught and the Flamer and Melta Tactical squads.

Post it. What I did was 4 highlights over Abaddon Black. Recipe is: Abbadon black base, and then a FAT highlight of incubi darkness(Pic related is from my first venom, but still the same recipe.), then some Coelia Greenshade on that highlight. Next comes a much thinner highlight of Kabalite green, then an even thinner Sybarite green highlight, and at corners/raised areas, Gauss Flayer Green. I need to clean it up quite a bit, still.

Yes, at least in my experience.
I've never had the Angel's Blade work out for me at 1500 points. The number of "tax" units in both core formations massively outweigh the benefits the decurion provides.

I'd recommend going with a Combined Arms, Baal Strike Force, or a Flesh Tearers Strike Force Detachment instead, especially if you're newer to the game. They're much more open when it comes to selection of units than the Angel's Blade. You can even still bring the Archangels Orbital Intervention Force in an allied Formation Detachment, it just won't get the decurion bonus it would get in the Angel's Blade (it really doesn't need the bonus anyway, it's a very strong formation by itself).

Go with Combined Arms if you want

I would probably say Tyranids. Poison is useful against MCs, but at the same time Tyranids will appreciate the relatively lower volume of fire and blast weapons. Warriors, for example, aren't as likely to die to Battle Cannons without doing anything. They both have a good mix of short to mid range shooting and close combat potential. DEldar also don't have any overly heavy vehicles, making the Tyranid's lack of strong anti-tank less of an issue.

Well, there is the Tantalus, but I digress. The key there is that Tyranids can get away with just strength 6 or 7 weapons, and don't need to run in for Smash attacks due to their lack of Melta.

Overall, I feel like it would be a rather fair and fun matchup, so long as Tyranids didn't try and cheese things with massed Flyrants. The only issue is that it isn't a very fluffy one.

Deldar can handle them well enough, they usually they just have to focus fire. Blasters are at least Ap2 so they have a shot at wrecking them in one shot, and then you have Haywire Scourges and Blasterborn. Space Sharks are better than Black Templars right now, both of their chapter tactics are a bit tricky as its not a flat out bonus but you need to meet a requirement to get the bonus so in that regard I would say they are even. Right now, as was pointed out, an Autocannon is usually better in most circumstances. It's about as good at cutting through hordes with a squad, and the Krak missiles are only really good against multi-wound MEQs and AV 14 in comparison.

If Flakk missiles weren't so expensive of an addition, that would help as well.

Heavy Bolters could work if you're Imperial Fists or have some way to get Relentless or Slow and Purposeful, but other than that, probably best to avoid them.

Gravcannons are a bit too expensive for an anti-infantry role.

Missiles might be your best option, as it's mainly compared to autocannons where they're lacking. The ability to take on Marines and hordes is still nice, just a bit pricey in some instances.

So, Death Guard look nasty as a competitive army, and even nastier for ITC-play if you're willing to break fluff and run some Tzeentchian stuff alongside them. This is my crack at building a WAAC list with them.

-Each Sorcerer joins a Cultist unit, giving them Fearless. Ain't life grand?

-Mutilators are Distraction Carnifexes or backfield objective-cappers. I didn't want to have to take more than two Troop units to max on Heavy Support.

-Heralds are Land Speeder-equivalents. They move-cast-turbo, and either camp by the Void Shield, Reserve, or sacrifice themselves to move-block or jump objectives. Exalted Locus is because S6 >> S5 when popping Razorbacks/wounding MSU Scatbikes.

-The list gets 12 Warp Charge base. Add the D6, and this lets me use 3 WC per Herald on Flickerfire, WC per Sorcerer on Shriek. If no good targets on range, it still affords me 5-6 WC per Sorcerer on summoning, while allowing a buffer against lost WC from Perils (and I will Perils; I have 4 wounds per Sorcerer).

-Everything else shoots. In total, this list can toss 36 S7 shots per turn, 6d6 S6 shots per turn, two Shrieks, and 18 S5 shots. Everything is either Fearless or a Vehicle, with Cultists being T4/cheap, Havocs being T5 FNP, Sicarans being decently armored all-around (and having AV 13 on the front with the range and speed to hang back), and the Heralds being able to "hang back" to avoid most retaliation.

Seeing as though markerlights count as a weapon, u leave the suit without any guns, since they'll probs be wasted shots, though if u want to, u can stay with 1 fusion blaster. Also the xv84 upgrade conflicts with the iridium armour, u cant take both.

You really want the drones for the xv109, hit and run is almost impossible at I2.

Also, why no earth caste engineering array? One of the best items in farsight list being ignored. You also should want more units, 4 mc is going to limit objective capping if they start dying. You should try adding in formations, maybe ones with a couple more xv8 suits, just so u have flexibility.

Why does GW hate the Guard so much? We also don't get any assault vehicles or reasonably priced assault units. At least give us something like a Conscript type squad, where it's 1 per platoon, and it's 20-50 of guys that can take las pistol and ccw and maybe some power weapon or special weapon upgrades.

It's true we get no assaulty units, or at least no good ones. But the Tau have a similar problem.
