I also suggest you to watch A.D. Police, Blade Runner, Running Man, Black Rain, Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Repomen, Total Recall (the old one with Arnold), Cyber City O-Edo 808, Johnny Mnemonic, Strange Days, Bubblegum Crisis, Parasite Dolls, Armitage III, Akira. Should give you a good feeling about the genre.

I loved this game back in the late nineties, but it has aged very badly

Cyberpunk 2020 becomes a frigging mess once you start using too many sourcebooks (who tend to contradict each other). Limit the direct sources of inspiration, have a vision of how you want the world to look like and keep to it.
